Evening Ed

Given that I don't know too much about our potential CL opponents, who in your opinion ed are the team who would offer the best chance of qualifying and who are the team we would most like to avoid??

Ice Man {Ed007's Note - The only team I would be wary of is CFR Cluj but I would expect CFC to get past any of the teams we could face.}

Hi ed good work as usual, just a couple of questions to all and your good self. If and when we sign a decent CH wud you then move Mulgrew to left back. I feel while Emilio is a smashin player he doesnt seem to be at his best at the moment.
Esp if we get a big CF and he can deliver those crosses I think it wud add to the team.
And Ed do you think we will get Rhodes if we qualify for Champs League?
Rayman {Ed007's Note - I think Mulgrew is now a CB who can cover at LB if needed Ray although I do know what you mean about Izaguirre. I don't know whether we will get Rhodes or not but I would be amazed if he chose to leave Huddersfield to go to Blackburn.}

I hope Celtic are up for Saturday , just seen Real Madrid hammered AC Milan 5-1 earlier on . Ronaldo scoring 2 .........DH

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Got to be worried about sat night. contractually teams will be obliged to start main teams and i just dont see us coping. dont see the need for this game as it could derail us from the positive start we've had. Money plays a part obviously but is this what we really need? Stevo dundee

Agree0 Disagree1

The score is unimportant in this one.So long as we dont take a real beating this will do our players a power of good...........green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree1

The match against real madrid is about money, score dosen,t matter we were battered by ajax and didn,t play well in other pre season games but we have played three competitive games and won them all ,thats all that matters.

Alright Ed,

Hope you're doin well.

Would firstly like to say congrats to the team last night. An away win, a clean sheet, an overall good performance. Joe Ledley was world class imo!

Secondly, would you pleased if we made a move for the bhoy Demba Savage? I feel he would give us some width, as out n out wingers with pace seems to be somethin we're in lack of...

HamiltonBhoy {Ed007's Note - I'm good thanks, hope you are well. I haven't seen enough of Savage but he certainly was one of their better players.}

why is neil lennon not going for a double deal for mackay steven and russell as they would both add a bit off bite back into the team befor they are taken away down south.also if lennon has no intention in spending or lawell is lying to the fans just to get bums on seats it,s prity poor as the season ticket prices have risen when there is no rangers game.sad state of affairs.even with beong relegated to the 3rd divison and being out off business they still have got more players than us so who is laughing at who here

Believable4 Unbelievable5

FFS who's laughing at who here . We are in Europe till Xmas at least in either CL or EL . They are in the next round of the Ramsdens Cup . Dundee Utd would be asking funny money for the two players mentioned who IMO wouldn't improve our team . Sevco have signed players nobody else wanted . NL will have something up his sleeve , I think he knows who he wants and is just biding his time to get them.........DH

Agree2 Disagree1

Mckay stevens would improve any team in scotland mate .. get the blinkers off he is clearly the most talented/most potential young scottish player (yes more than forrest). agree they would ask funny money for them both tho .... both look better than goodwillie IMO

Agree2 Disagree0

Nobody mentioned Goodwillie , all these players who look good at other Scottish teams come to Celtic and can't hack it . I've never seen any of them have outstanding games or even good games against us so I'm willing to take my chances with Forrest ( who was voted as one of the top young players in the world) and young Mcgeough......DH

Agree0 Disagree2

Id have Mackay Stevens over Forrest anyday im afraid. Forrest seems to be injured too much for my liking and Smith seems more a natural winger that the Hoops fans would love. Feck it, lets have both them in team!

Joeshmo1888

Agree2 Disagree1

Was Forrest not voted young player of the year by fellow pros and media last year? I think that tells you who the most exciting prospect in scottish football is.

if a was given that result before the tie had started a wld have bit your hand for it. a realy thought it wld be a tough ask with helsinki scoring plenty of goals the last round and being half way through there season. but if theres any doubt that lennon is the right man in charge hes done what others cldnt and won away in eruope well done lenny and the bhoys

Well done Bhoys. I never doubted that we would win the Helsinki tie, I am now very optimistic of a good draw and result in the next round. Also heard Skippy returning with Hooper to go. Anyone else heard anything. Sopot Celt

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Hope not!!
If we sell Hoops we should break the bank for Rhodes.
Skippy's best days are behind him, and they were average!

Joeshmo1888

Agree2 Disagree4

Skippy has struggled at Boro and it rarely works out when a player returns.
He must regret leaving in the first place.
Anyway if Hooper, Ki, Kayal or Wanyama do go we should be aiming higher (like Rhodes) or in that age/class bracket along with a creative midfielder and centre half.

Jungle Jim

Agree2 Disagree1

I admit I would be surprised. I think it is some nonsense from the Mail in England. In any case I would keep Hooper as long as possible.Sopot Celt

Morning folks, great result last night and looking forward to the draw on Friday! Dint think we should fear any of the possible opponents. Hopefully we step up our interest in a few players now, like most I think we are an experienced centre back and powerful striker away from having something really special! Been hearing reports that we are looking at the striker Kensuke Nagai from Japan, 23 years old and just under 6th tall. Has a decent scoring record at every level and would require a massive transfer fee which would be good. I know YouTube could make even my granny look like a superstar but he looks quick and strong, very direct and nothing fancy. Apart from Ciani i am nit aware of any potential CB, anybody heard anything on this front? I've always liked Matthew Upson, a bit older but has bags if experience. Really want a older/mature CB that can help bring the younger players on a bit. We have a potentially great defender in Thomas Rogne but he needs experience next to him to learn from and we need somebody to take workload if Charlie Mulgrew at the back!

Good start to the season so far! Keep the faith!

Great performance from the hoops.
Ledley and Mulgrew were brilliant. May not miss big Vic if Kayal and Brown stay fit. Bring on the next mob and we'll do them too. Hail Hail
