For the likes of DN30 etc. I am going to surprise everybody and talk about CELTIC lol
Want to ask all the regulars on here who do you think will be leaving?
Sammy? a given, Forster? probably, Virgil? hope not, Griffiths? sacked? Mathews? too injury prone, Forrest? again more time on treatment table than on bench, Moukolo? a big risk keeping him with his injury background, Stokes? another one with baggage like Griffiths, Pukki? Balde? give them one more season to prove themselves, Fisher? out of contract will he sign new one?
Boerighter? another one with a lot to prove, has the talent but has the mental attitude to survive the rough and tumble of Scottish football.

Praise the Lord, a post about Celtic on Celtic Rumours lol. I think Samaras, Forster + Virgil will be away. Possibly Kayal as well, maybe even Griffiths depending on how the club go about his latest controversy. If it was up to me I'd get rid of Ambrose, Sammy (leaving on a Bosman already), Stokes, Boerrigter, Mouyokolo, Griffiths, Kayal + Forrest. I'd agree with you on Balde + Pukki, give them another 12 months then show them the door if they can't break in to the starting XI. As I said below on another thread, I feel we should be getting about £18m for Forster + Virgil, so if they go as well there should be plenty money in the kitty to bring in a GK, CB, playmaker + goalscorer. Possibly even a LB once these positions have been fulfilled.

@hamiltonbhoy yes give Balde and Pukki another chance.
Look at 3 high profile centre forwards in EPL.
Michu started great last season but not so good this season.
Benteke, same thing, although got bad injury but neither are the players they were last season.
Finally the biggest flop of the all.
Torres, even made Andre Flo look good ha ha
but Torres must be on upwards of £100k a week yet his attitude is a disgrace.
So when we mump and moan about Balde think about Torres and thank our lucky stars he is nowhere near Celtic.

The less important players moving on the better. To my mind Balde and the youngsters who are currently out on loan would be the ones I would move on if possible .

Would anyone take Simon Makienok from Brondby fc? He's 23, 6ft 7 and has scored 29 in 64. They would be looking for around 4m, I think he'd do well but that's just me

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is the lad Wigan + Palace are interested in? Seems decent based on stats, never actually seen him play though - 6ft 7in tall, 23 yrs old, 52 goals in 127 apps. Scandanavia's a funny old place though, been a total hit and miss for us over the years - The King of Kings, Mikey Lustig, Teemu Pukki, Harald Brattbakk, Morten Wieghorst, Johan Mjallby, Vidar Riseth, Tam Gravesen, Ulrik Laursen, Marc Rieper, Magnus Hedman, Morten Rasmussen, Dan Majstorovic, Tam Rogne, Stefan Johansen and so on?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just had a look in to him, Brondby accepted an offer just over £3m from Terek Grozny for him last summer but he knocked back £30k per week. Not sure if he was looking for more dosh, or if he just didn't fancy going to Russia?

Agree0 Disagree0

On paper would seem like a useful player to have in the squad and perhaps worth taking a chance on. But he's exactly just that right now. And we have enough of that. Are we continually going to bring in players who aren't the answer. Europe, one up top, just bring in somebody most of us have at least heard of and will walk in the side. The rest of the lads can make up numbers and compete to show that they can provide support.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it's never going to happen this way, but in the Summer I'd rather we spent say £13m on two top drawer players like Stuttgart's attacking mid Alexandru Maxim (£5m) + Nurnberg's top scorer Josip Drmic (£8m) rather than bring in 10 players for £14m like we have this season. But the sad reality is that these guys will either end up at one of the Big Two in Germany or in the EPL!

Agree0 Disagree0

Find myself agreeing with hamiltonbhoy on this one! 1 or 2 quality players rather than 8 for the future. To progress we need players for the here and now! Look how heels were dragged over finboggssun? Spelling! Could have had him in at a decent price but no chance now. And depending if we get big money offers for vvd or Forster we could need 4 quality or will that be 10 at a mill each?leagues won! Time to get players/ contracts and transfers in place for the day the market opens and hit this seasons cl qualifiers running! Not wait to see if we qualify before buying!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's the only way forward Delbhoy. Look at this season's CL campaign, one to forget. Too many players, not much experience, not really proven at even our level. I wouldn't be suprised if a few were panic buys as well. If we lose Forster + Virgil we should be talking £18m in the kitty - £13m on the two I've mentioned (goalscorer + playmaker) then we can spend another £5m on a GK or CB before even dipping in to the bank balance for the other. The capitalist machine known as Celtic PLC would never think like that but.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps the reason we dragged our feet over Finnaboggan was because his club didn't want to sell and he didn't want to sign for Celtic .

Agree0 Disagree0

Or perhaps we just didn't match their value, which increased as the window went on and the more clubs were made aware of him and Heerenveen's financial circumstances.

If Forster goes in the Summer who do you think Lennon will bring in? Fabianski (28) and Westwood (29) are out of contract in a couple of months. Fabianski has rejected Arsenal's offer and has some Champions League and Premier League experience. Do you think Alex McCarthy would be a possibility if Reading don't get promoted?

We also need another CB and a top ST. I would like to see Tony Watt back for next season and depending on the fee and likelihood, a bid for Danny Ings (if not Finnbogason).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If, and it's a big if, Forster does go, I'd like to see an attempt made to bring back David Marshall; especially if Cardiff go down as expected.

Agree0 Disagree0

#1 target for me would be Kasper Schmeichel, although I feel he'll want another crack of the whip at the EPL with Leicester since he barely managed a string of games for City as a youngster. All we can offer him that they can't is the "possibility" of Champions League football. I would be too dissapointed if we signed Philipp Tschauner as FF's replacement either - 6ft 5in, managed about 10 clean sheets for St Pauli in 30 games this season. Plays like a sweeper keeper, always first out to any loose balls, corners, etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

David Marshall I would have. Said it on here before. Admittedly it may be a step sideways, or even backwards because I rate Forster that highly. Still, but not as much as Fabianski or Westwood would be. Ideally I'd like us to go for Maxym Koval (young keeper caught my eye for Dinamo Kiev), Handanovic (Inter reportedly ready to off-load), Ali Ahamada (Toulouse). Maybe even Pantillimon or Butland? A friend of mine who stays in Cologne through work raves about a keeper they have called Timo Horn. Supposedly considered the next star to come from between the sticks in Germany. There's no reason we shouldn't get a good fee for Fraser. Just hope it's reinvested properly. He could be a massive miss for quite some time if it isn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

@JimTim Timo Horn's a great young GK. He's been outstanding for Koln this season, they've got the best goals against record in Bundesliga 2 but they're on the verge of winning the league and promotion to the Bundesliga, so I reckon he'd fancy a crack at (in my opinion) the best + most competitive league in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was there not talk about signing a GK from Argentina?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hamilton it's certainly my favourite leagur to watch (mostly just the highlights). It may not be so competetive at the very top but there's usually plenty of cracking scorelines. I still feel we should and can go for that calibre of young player though.

I'd like to see Schmeichel also, but can't see him coming to Scotland unfortunately. Wouldn't mind David Marshall.

Agree0 Disagree0

I could watch Bundesliga football all day long. Aye, Bayern have stretched away from the rest but below the Big Two the position's are anyones. Quality style, amazing pitches, cracking stadia's, cheap, standing, alcohol on sale, 50+1 rule. The reasons go on. In the last 11 years Bayern, Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Stuttgart + Werder Bremen have all won the top division. Teams like Kaiserslautern + HSV have went from European regulars to relegation battlers. It's a crazy league! Even the 2nd league is of great standard. I was over for the St Pauli v Greuther Furth game 2 wks ago, boring 2-2 draw lol. Then watched them away to Sandhausen last weekend, came from behind twice to win 3-2. Unreal.

Don't think FF will leave this year but if he does it will be David Forde coming in, short term solution.
