I just watched the Duffy interview there. You could see the emotion in his face. Really impressed with his humbleness and focus on the here and now. Let's hope he adds quality to our squad going for 10.

It’s us that need to be humble. The guy could have went elsewhere in the plastic fans league, Celtic have now entered the streets of Free Derry. If this post Is deemed offensive and isn’t posted could somebody please explain why. Thanks.

JFP whit?

JFP, No matter what anybody says, Celtic Men playing for Celtic improves the team greatly, he is a great bit of business, and we should have signed James McClean when we had the chance, maybe we have missed the boat on that.
I was born in Free Derry before it became Free Derry and I can tell you that during the darkest days of the War, how the Celts were doing was a conversation everybody got involved with.
Celtic were and always will be in Free Derry.
Keep Posting my Friend, some of us completely get where you are coming from.

Celtic men playing for Celtic only improve the team, if they are good enough to improve the team, that's the biggest mistake every team seems to make, thinking just because he supports the team, he automatically improves the team, am not talking about Shane Duffy in this, I haven't seen him play enough, but I don't care if he comes from free Derry or free Dingle, as long as he does the job.

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Sep 2020 07:01:40
@aingoh, for me it’s a give that if we buy a Celtic man then we believe he his good enough to improve the team on the pitch. The other great part of having Celtic men in the dressing room is the supporters spirit that no doubtably raises the other pros around them and a transfer of knowledge and traditions that should drive the other pros on.

09 Sep 2020 09:17:26
Malika particularly with no supporters in the ground this year. I think Free Derry residents have the edge in terms of motivation over residents of Free Dingle. That ability is a pre-requisite as you say is a given my friend. 👍.

Can we please drop this James McClean obsession with some fans he is bang average imo .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Sep 2020 18:01:24
This year of all years the difference could be the real Celtic men giving everything and more to get to "the 10" In an ideal situation every player should give everything but we know that's not the case. Broony, Callum, Duffy and Jamesie will play till they burst this year. If you know the history HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Sep 2020 18:39:45
@oldkilly, What I said was we should have bought him and maybe we missed the boat. I firmly believe he could still do a great job for us.
78 Caps
Over 100 pub league
Same Championship
They hate him, but he was still awarded Stoke Player of the year.
That’s not obsessional, they are just facts, and not bang average facts either.

Don't see the fascination with Forrest a LWB his defensive game is lacking, we play Taylor until Boli is sold and bring someone else in. For me that is obvious.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

08 Sep 2020 18:58:35
Forrest already plays RWB.
We could try Frimpong at LWB.
Taylor is a good defender but isn’t dynamic enough going forward.
I would still stick with Taylor in a flat back 4.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Sep 2020 21:15:11
because taylor is rank that's why.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Sep 2020 15:27:31
Taylor is a good player, he has a good delivery, the problem is the way we set up. playing side to side none stop, Brown keeps the game flowing like a five aside game passing for the sake of passing.

Barkas

Elhamed Duffy Jullien
Frimpong Ajer Taylor

Forrest Mcgregor
Christie

Eddy

Thats how we should set up, with Ajer breaking forward creating space for the attacking trio, Mcgregor miles better than Elyanousi going forward, Frimpong and Taylor to break forward when Ajer holds.
We should be smashing teams and attacking non stop in SPL.
We need cover for Taylor
Bitton can play at the back, probably need another CB then Elhamed can cover Frimpong
Turnbull cover Christie, Dembele cover Forrest, Elyanousi cover Mcgregor, Brown cover Ajer, Ajeti cover Eddy, and the rest of the young lads to get game time and try progress, the likes of Henderson, Mcinroy, Harper, Welsh and Johnson when he comes back
This squad should take us all the way domestically this year, so yes let's get another CB and that will do.
I'd sell Ntcham as I'd rather keep the rest, and he will have a good sell on value right now.

Two items have now been just reported 1) 300 home fans will be allowed to attend Ross County v Celtic on Saturday as part of the test case and Aston Villa have just signed Watkins from Brentford for £33m and that might suggest their apparent interest in Eddy will subside?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

08 Sep 2020 16:16:34
£33million for Watkins? world's gone and lost itself.

08 Sep 2020 16:36:17
My god what is eddie worth realistically if he is rated at 33mill?

133million.

With Broony looking like he may need to sit out some games this year and looking to the future, I would like to go 4-5-1;

Barkas
Frimpong Julien Duffy Taylor
Forrest Calmac Turnbull Christie Moi
Eddie

No Ajer or Ntcham for me. My only concern is no dig in midfield without Broony.

I think i would prefer Ajeti in and 352 Chinks but otherwise I like the look.

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 13:41:06
I think we should start playing a 3-5-2.
I would try Jullian on the left. Duffy in the middle and Ajar on his preferred right hand side.
I would also try and fit as many of our best players in the starting 11 as possible and that’s why I would try Forrest at LWB. I think Frimpong has also played LWB when he played with Man City youths. ( Forrest and Frimpong could swap)
Our squad is getting really strong when you think of the players who aren’t mentioned in my lineup.
Barkas
Ajar Duffy. Jullian
Frimpong . Christie. Turnbull, McGregor. Forrest
Edouard. Ajeti.
OR 4-1-4-1 formation
Barkas
Elhamad, Jullian. Duffy. Taylor
McGregor
Forrest. Turnbull. Christie. Elyounoussi
Edouard.

My two teams buzz bomb.
This is what Lenny needs to do we frimpong gets used to his maximum potential at that position.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 15:58:14
We didn't spend £5m on Ajeti for him to sit on the bench.
We will start with 2 up front.

08 Sep 2020 16:00:30
Buzz bomb Enrico agrees my friend very good line ups and formations.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 16:25:33
Buzz every major flop of Lennon's reign so far has been on the back of playing players out of position. It was proven we are a better attacking threat playing the 352. If that means sacrificing Ely and Forrest then so be it. Having them on the bench will give us the ability to change it and we would likely revert back to a 4321 variation during some domestic games and in Europe. Should mean they still see plenty of game time.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 16:39:05
I really like your 352 Buzz. That is probably what I would go for all being fit.

Once we are up to speed with personnel, fitness and formations,
Celtic will be unstoppable in Scotland.
The 5 subs is an advantage to Celtic and will also have a big part to play.
Celtic have the players to change formation and also help change the game in our favour.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 19:06:39
Turnbull is an attacking midfield player and not going to be Broony’s successor, we signed Soro to play that role and Lenny is going to sicken the Bhoy off, he deserves a bit of game time to see what he can do, Turnbull will need to bide his time the way Christie is playing at the moment .

08 Sep 2020 19:41:03
Saturday team maybe

Barkas

Duffy
Juillien
Ajer

Forrest

Brown
Turnbull
Mc Gregor

Taylor

Edouard
Ajeti.

If Brown is playing we need to play a 4-2-3-1
But in his absence we should play a 4-1-4-1 with McGregor in the holding area.
We played this formation when Brown was injured a couple of years ago and we were outstanding.
We had Christie and Rogic in front of Calmac and we hammered a Steve Clarke Kilmarnock 5-1 and a good Hibs side 4-2.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 20:06:02
I'd personally like to see us go 4 4 2 with a midfield diamond

Barkas

Frimpong julien duffy taylor
Cal mac
Christie turnbull
Moi
Eddy ajeti

Cal mac form has dipped so I'd maybe give ajer a shot in there or move cal mac up with turnbull dropping out. Taylor not the most dynamic going forward but this allows for eddy to start from the left if he drifts out.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 20:23:21
Aye that was when were apparently weakened significantly and had to start with Ryan Christie. The rest is history in terms of how Ryan has done but that formation was sadly binned when Broonie came back. I still prefer your 352 buzz. i would go.

Barkas,

Frimpong

Ajer
Duffy
Julian

Forrest

Macgregor (playing in the deep role)
Christie (number 8 box 2 box)
Turnball (number 8 box 2 box)

Eddie
Ajeti

Something like that until we get a LWB. The reality is probably Brown, macgregor and christie in center mid until we get injuries or suspensions with turnball and nchamp fighting for the last 20 minutes. i definitely think the squad is looking really strong right now when players like Rogic, Griffiths, Dembele etc are going to seriously struggle to get a look in. All those players would walk into every team in Scotland right now. I will start getting excited when he gets away from 4231 as its so negative in Scotland and doesn't play to our strengths.

08 Sep 2020 20:50:08
off your heads not including ntcham in any of your line ups.

08 Sep 2020 10:38:38
Something I am noticing, watching our recent games 'behind closed doors', with zero crowd intimidation/ noise; is the amount of decisions that referees give based on players 'squealing' or team-mates reacting and technical staff in the dugout shouting the odds - having influence.
Seen it at Tannadyce, Kilmarnock and in the Ferencvaros game and 'I know officials need little prompting up here but our players and bench need to catch-on.

Just seen the videos of Celtics seats extension to 75,thousand they also say it's Gona happen.
Let's get hotel first then do the work or both at the same time.
Celtic still have ambitious plans which I like.
Who cares about the why who where etc 75 thousand fans singing you can't beat it. The atmosphere would be amazing. As long as we buy a ticket and support out team.
Also let's judge Duffy when he plays in a gd team like ours.
He's still not fit was blowing out his axx right through the game. Let's judge him at ours he will toughen ajer and Julien which is needed.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

08 Sep 2020 11:17:05
I'm not sure toughness is something you learn or acquire Andy. It's either there or it isn't. Neither of our current centre backs strike me as the mud and blood type but time will tell on what qualities Duffy brings and the level he can get to.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 12:34:02
Duffy brings a bit of steel to our defence that we have been lacking in recent years. Hopefully it pushes Ajer and Jullien's development on. As for the 75k seating we need to deliver the 10 this year before even looking at it. Failure to do so will see that waiting list vanish.

08 Sep 2020 12:49:34
The stadium looks tremendous Andy hope we do it.

08 Sep 2020 14:04:28
Fair play on Duffy @PHILPHLOP. that's true but maybe it will make them fight for the rights to wear the jersey.

Hope so @mally get the hotel but I hope it's not a marketing ploy by Celtic media as we usually can see through it. Fingers crossed.

08 Sep 2020 17:11:16
Would probably require a higher demand of ST for the board to consider doing it. But it would be rocking on Euro nights and Glasgow derbies with a packed out 75,000. Massive income on top of that too if we manage to fill it most games. I think the current league setup is a tad stale and a larger league only playing teams once home and away would benefit increased home crowds.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 17:12:19
Although I can't see that happening as the smaller clubs depend of the income of travelling Celtic and Rangers supporters twice a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 09:41:56
Back to real football this weekend. Will Duffy start? I can't see it personally. Will he play a 352 with 2 strikers to start? Not sure that will happen either. a 4231 to start, a horrible stuffy first half where we struggle to even create chances against County, he changes to 352 second half and we sneak another 1 goal win. im going 2-1 Eddie and Christie to score. sorry for sounding a bit negative its just how i feel things will go until Duffy and Aerti start and we change formation. Really don't think 4231 suits us. oh I also think Broonie needs fazed out with turnball or nchamp playing with Christie and Macgregor orchestrating.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

08 Sep 2020 09:55:49
That’s exactly how is see it as well, hopefully Lennon stops being arrogant and goes with 3-5-2 with Forrest at lwb instead of Taylor.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 10:24:52
Think he will start in the middle of a 3 ad have julien on the left but maybe lenny has other ideas.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 10:51:16
Think Duffy will start. Just played 2 international games needs more games to get match fit.
3-5-2 Eddie and Ajeti. Then 45 minutes of Eddie Kilmala. Never predict scores just get 3pts.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Sep 2020 12:36:02
I'm sure Duffy played 2 international games so hopefully fit enough to start? Think the 352 relies on Ajeti being fit enough to start. If either Ajeti or Edouard have any fitness concerns he won't risk both at the same time.

Two of Barkas Greek International team mates have tested positive for C.V.
Waiting to see what kind of impact that will have on our new goalkeeper with regards to his availability on Saturday.
