It's like watching paint dry this Scotland game. The Fletchers are really poor and bring the rest of the team to their level.

Get them off now .

I hope they say thank you very much Gordon,at the end of this contract and don't extend it, its been three bad performances in a row as WGS sticks to his system,and ignores on form players,maybe give the job to a younger man who's not afraid to take chances or a foreign manager who can look at everything from a different viewpoint

Aindoh who would you suggest takes over? The other question is who would want the job?

Have no suggestions,just throw it open ,and see who applies,I don't think there any point in letting WGS carry on,maybe you'd be surprised at who might want the job.

I don't personally think any Scotland Manager has ever been allowed to pick a Scotland side .

He plays a keeper who doesn't command his box and is an accident waiting to happen as is his central defenders . He plays Forest on the left when he clearly cannot kick with his left foot and is more dangerous on his favoured right wing and vice versa with a left footed wide player . He always finds a position for Mulgrew no matter how he is playing and walks into team . His substitutions are baffling at times and he is a firm believer in zonal marking even though losing stupid goals with the last kick of ball . His assistants don't seem to bring much to the table as it's always the manager who takes the stick . Oh and he's crying out for a class left back 😉

Personally, I like WGS but not to pick players who are actually on form is not smart. We had a good start to the campaign but fell away because of this reluctance to pick form players and stay with old favourites hoping they will come good on the day.
Another glorious failure.

WGS looked up to about 3/4 matches ago he was the real deal for Scotland . Whether there is better around who is available , is debatable. If you look at the idiots who would be responsible for appointing a new manager , I would think Scottish fans should pray every night for WGS to stay .

Gordon Strachan came in as Scotland manager after what was the Craig Levein debacle,anyone could have came in after that doughnut and made things look better,WGS had a honeymoon period when things started looking better,but I think it was a case of 'halleluah its somebody new',he lost it for me when he dropped Jordan Rhodes from his first or second pool because 'he didn't fit the system',as for being a good Celtic manager,anyone that persisted in playing Gary Caldwell as a holding midfield player ,is guilty of favouritism and numbskullism and don't guestionmeism,the guy was a lucky Celtic manager,I would'nt want him anywhere near Parkhead,let him go back to Middlesborough first .

Here are my International bets for tonight (just "pick and mix" what you like)
Anytime goalscorers Ronaldo (Portugal) 8/11 Lewandowski (Poland) 6/4 Muller (Germany) 1/1
BTTS Ireland-Germany, Scotland-Poland
A Penalty in Scotland game about 5/1 or bigger (either team)
I am also going for a sending off about 8/1

ED what's your thoughts on Klopp to Liverpool? I must admit I'm pretty gutted about it. I still harbored (slim) hopes that he'd replace LVG at the end of the year - or sooner.

Add the fact that there are murmurings of Pep G to Man City next year and it doesn't get easier!

On the game tonight:

I'm thinking Scotland win - with one goal in it.

{Ed007's Note - I'm a bit gutted myself as I'm a huge fan of his but I don't think Liverpool is a good move for him as they need to sell before they can buy and there isn't much top quality in that squad, I'd say that their initial target Carlo Ancelloti would have been better for what they need tight now.
Klopp was hoping all along to land the the Bayern Munich job and they spoke with him to force Guardiola to make a decision on his future so with Klopp going to Liverpool it now looks like Guardiola could be staying at BM.
Don't be surprised to see a change at Arsenal this summer.
God knows what Utd are going to do but they need to get LVG out the door a.s.a.p. and I don't think Giggs is the long term solution, I wouldn't mind seeing the Sevilla manager Unai Emery or Diego Simeone coming in, or maybe Roger Schmidt at Bayer Leverkusen.}

Totally agree. To me, Liverpool aren't in a position to build. They are very much in a "make what you have work" position and that falls firmly into the Ancelloti skillset. I'd say we (UTD) were in a better position to offer legacy building/stability etc but the truth is, I'm not sure we are at the minute.

I do fear Giggs is the man they are moulding. He could prove us wrong though. I thought LVG was wrong from the get go - he is as long term as Mourinho and leaves teams in much the same manner.

Simeone is one I thought - but Emery is a great shout, especially given he's done it at different clubs. I always wanted Bielsa but obviously that's not going to happen now.

Interesting re PG and Bayern/Klopp. Makes sense given PG's reluctance to commit.

It's funny though because someone asked me to pick a manager from the EPL for Utd and it's actually really difficult. In all honesty, if I had to, I'd say (somewhat controversially) that I'd take Gary Monk.

Simeone/Emery aside, I think there are a few interesting Kloppesque coaches out there.

{Ed007's Note - The whole league could do with an injection of some new blood at management level, it's the same old tired faces and boring tactics all the time and the overall standard of the league is lower than it has been for years. Give me guys like Klopp and Slaven Billic over dinosaurs like LVG, Allardyce and Tony Pullis.}

Love Simeone looks like Al Capone with that black suit and shirt of his lol. Never on his backside screaming orders at his players from the touchline, some passion and think Man U need that after LVG. Happy with how LVG is doing to an extent. just not massivley keen on him as a person

I think if you look at what all the supposed top managers have had to work with, then look at Simeone, for me he is the stand out. Athletico were always ok, and a bit of a laughing stock compared to Real, I know they brought through Torres, but in general nothing was happening at that club until Diego Simeone took over. He's made average players/journeyman into stars, - guys moving for £20 million etc at 30 years old. I'm sure he's brought in more money than he's spent. Barca under Guardiola were a dream, but look at the players he had. It's the same as the Bayern team he took over - they had just won the treble. I know the pressure is totally different at a Manchester United compared to A Madrid, so other things come into it obviously. Pep is very cool, and a bit like Mourinho is good at deflecting things, handling pressure at big clubs. Look at someone like Laurent Blanc though at PSG, he has spent fortunes yet is still highly regarded. Schmidt is a good shout he seems to be highly rated and is still only very young. Giggs will probably get it anyway, - the fans will demand him then I'm sure it will end in tears!

I just read the other posts there, - Bielsa is a strange one, I thought we should have asked about him because there was a couple of weeks between Lennon leaving and him taking the Marseille job. I don't know what seems to happen because he never seems to stick around long(I know Marsielle are always in turmoil) but for whatever reason he's never fulfilled his potential and he must be a good age now! All the players that have played under him says he's a genius, and on another planet tactically/technically. I also like Monk as well by the way. He was Martinez' captain at Swansea and plays the Spanish style. Swansea are the best team to watch down there!

Ed is correct the EPL is full of many managers who have moved from one EPL team to another with no great results anywhere . Klopp is no doubt a very good manager and he is coming to Liverpool with a very fine reputation . I think he will find it very difficult at Liverpool who seem to have 25/30 good players but few of them have improved their reputations at Liverpool . He seems to be bringing in his own men which is a good thing , but maybe his closest mentors will have a lack of knowledge of the English game .
