Just looking through my last recent post about Celtic spine and noticed 11 agree and 0 disagree .Coincidence or fact. When will the penny drop with the fans, I see again today we are giving away lennon t-shirts free with subscriptions of our magazine also how well timed was the Sutton book brought out,. when will the money men at the club release some of their millions and support the club the same way they expect the ordinary fan to part with our hard earned cash. we are the biggest home and away support and yes we pay for that privilege.

Are we being taken for granted now, the way the board has run the club lately gives me the feeling that, feed the fans with anything and they will buy it. The lennon t-shirts for example are they t-shirts they have not been able to sell and POW let the fans think they are getting something for nothing.
The Sutton book , lets get the fans up to the superstore on an International break when things are normally quiet and maybe they spend in store. I know many fans that are up to their eyes in debt just to follow the team ALL OVER THE WORLD and would buy anything Celtic can the same be said for money men. We can parade banners at a minutes notice to support our team and its views. I think we need to know what the board are really doing in the background to get us to the top again,will it be another , Roy Keane, Robbie Keane or Craig Bellamy when it is too late. We were told 9 months ago about the 5 year plan. Not happened yet. They go on about the Celtic family and we throw our money to support it , I think the king of spin John Reid our chairman should show us the plan very soon before he goes. For our support and loyalty we deserve that to be equalled by the people running our club.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

I think if you check your facts you will find that rangers take the biggest support to away games and no i am not talking about manchester but the spl

Tony going shortly to pick up Mrs T but before I go, asnwer me this why cannot most bears handle banter. Only back 1 day and poor bears are crying to their Ed for help, imagine banter on a banter page.
Left them a wee message have a wee read.Imagine Miko and Timalloy upsetting poor wee bears, just when they thought they could gloat in peace ha ha.
Oh and all the faceless bears on here, grow some whatsits and put a name to your posts like we do.
Timalloy smarter than the average bear LOL

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Granted there are some crying bears about but i aint seen any that run away timalloy lolol {Ed007's Note - It's hard to tell when they don't leave a name.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just getting ready to go watch the football then have a night out with friends so to the two(or maybe one halfwit) make sure your mammys computer is charged so you can stay up all night trying to gain a few imaginary friends for your sorry selves through attempted wind ups. shaun h {Ed007's Note - No need to be like that, Rangers fans are welcome here. I am sure they have friends but I agree that their wind ups and banter leave a lot to be desired.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't mind banter, but is it still banter when it's the same drivel over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?

I agree with poster earlier who said keep the faith, defeats at Ibrox and tynecastle are not end of the season, St Johnstone result was the bad one. We need to really get behind Lennon and the team, get our injured players back and then go on a long undefeated run.
I liked reading parts of Sutton's book in which he said they had just lost 5-1 at Ibrox and big amoruso was gloating, Sutton passed and said "see you in February" (next old firm game) well Sutton ran amoruso ragged and Celtic won. Come December that is what we have to do.
We were all Lennon supporters up till a couple of weeks ago, we all know unamed bears are on all the time calling for Lenny to go.In Lennon We Trust while he is our Celtic manager. Timalloy

Believable7 Unbelievable2

What are you on about? Calling for Lennon to go? The Rangers fans don't want him to go anywhere...

Lemmon Must Stay {Ed007's Note - Did you read the post? There is no mention of Tim calling for NL to go so what are you on about?}

Forster (On Loan, Not proven )
Zaluska ( Not trusted as No1 )
Loovens ( Not wanted )
Big Dan ( Had a bad season so far )
Kelvin Wilson ( Long term injury , jury out )
Broony ( Never a Celtic captain, overrated Contract still to be signed, long term injury )
Ki ( Goes missing when chips are down )
Ledley (
Commons ( Uncontrollable this season on the park , in the dressing room and at the dining table by the looks of it, has ability but needs to get it back )
Samaras ( Not wanted by manager and support and he knows it, not a bad player )
Stokes ( Not Celtic class )
Hooper ( Frustrated at rotation of support striker )
Paddy ( Good player to bring on when 3-0 up )
Lennon ( need his players fit and up for a Challenge, lacks a plan B )
Lawell and Reid ( Awaiting 5 year plan as promised )
This is the spine of Celtic and this is the reason they are behind in the league, AGREE/ DISAGREE

Obviously thinking isn't one of your strong points so maybe you should use your brain power to do something more constructive than thinking about me, that is actually quite creepy. If you don't like what I write, don't read it. It is that simple surely even you can understand that.}

Ouch

Hey Ed thanks to Ed001 i think about you a lot lol i dont know if you are a bloke or a burd which in turn means i dont know whether to slag you off or flirt with you ( just for the record if you are a bloke there will be no flirting lol)

Tony {Ed007's Note - I'm a bloke mate, so no flirting works for me ;-) I wouldn't want Tim to get jealous, you and him seem destined for mutual happiness together.}

if rangers get the worst case scenario from their tax crisis has anybody stopped to think how this will affect us , by this i mean the board dont back the manager enough when we have to win a two horse race so with no rangers they dont have to spend spend at all , or am i being over cynical

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I posted something similar a while ago..that they won't do anything until they see outsome of this case ! I'm not sure if rangers can actullat appeal again after november ?! Tax seems to be a law unto itself....

Agree0 Disagree0

If rangers win the case against the hmrc where will that leave celtic, we,ve had pennies to spend for the last three seasons and a squad thats thinner than the the smokescreen that,s your spending policy.and as i believe we still leave you in our wake lads. enjoy the chase.

As Celtic fans we have to keep the faith, when did losing at Ibrox and Tynecastle become a disgrace? all of our great managers have lost at these venues, granted losing at home to St Johnstone was a very poor result but i am willing to wager we will not lose at home again in the league this season.

This starting 11 is the reason we WILL win the league this year -

GK - Forster

RB - M. Wilson
LB - E. Izzaguire
RCB - K. Wilson
LCB - C. Mulgrew

RCM - B. Kayal
DCM - S. Brown (Best Position)
LCM - J. Ledley

RF - A. Stokes
CF - G. Hooper
LF - M. Bangura

Starting 11 for right now is -

GK - Forster
RB - M. Wilson
LB - B. El Kahdourri
RCB - V. Wanyama
LCB - C. Mulgrew

RCM - Ki Seung Yeung
DCM - B. Kayal
LCM - J. Ledley

RF - A. Stokes
CF - G. Hooper
LF - M. Bangura

Sack the Board (NONSENSE)
Sack Neil Lennon (NONSENSE)
Support the Hoops (ALWAYS)

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Aye that line up terrifies me lol and of course Lemon will play 3 up front haha. Wilson Brown and Izzageezer will make a huge difference to your team right enough.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think that the underline frustration comes from not that you lost but in the manner you lost as a rangers fan one thing i always envied was celtics never say die attitude they could be 1 - 0 down with 5 mins to go and i always expected them to dig deep and come away with a 1 - 1 draw at least but to many times the disappointed me and came away with a 2 - 1 Win NL team looks gutless not that im complaining. and talk about complaining i reckon Hooper and Mastorovic will push we Naismith all the way for whinger of the year award

so lots of various calls out there, ranging from, sack lennon to pressure the board to spend more money. But what will fix the issues our club are facing right now.
There has never been a lack of rhetoric from the club about wanting to succeed, lennon being the prime example of that "brining back the thunder" etc. But what does this really mean?

Well there hasnt really been a lack of activity on the spending front, we are a club that will spend within its means and no more unless theres a deal we simply cannot refuse ( although you could argue there has been lots of those missed due to big dan getting a regular game!!).

So what do we do to sort this slump?. AS mentioned more money, where does this come from? desmond? the fans? other investment / sponsorship? well none of these are really viable we are not in the market to spend our way to success like you have to admit we done under the MON days! That said there has to come a time where the board realise you have to speculate to accumulate and take the hit for long term gain. We cleared the debt back then and we could do it again surley ?? albeit we had the CL monies back then also.

Onto sacking lennon. Where does that put us? back to square one. A new manager, who will want new players and will want to adopt a new philosophy to the game and apply new tactics that again could turn to abject failure so very easily.

What next? i hear you all say! invest in youth?. Well yes of course this should be the cornerstone of any sport , but how do we invest in our youth? (and im talking nationally here aswell not just celtic on this bit) Less and less of our youngsters are making the grade, yes there are the exceptions and yes we are hindered by our size of population. But there is a deeper issue with this. There is not the right attitude in this country ( in general) in our youth, more and more kids are coming through the ranks thinking they have it made, and to be fair they do have it made in terms of the relativley easy job and decent money. But wheres the aptitude to progress themselves to the next level. Wheres the determination to inprove to be better than you are? this comes from the quality of 1. coaching. 2. facilites. 3.standard of others that you play and learn with. there are other factors too but i dont want to bore you more. Getting factors 1 and 2 right leads to an improvement in 3. There is a severe lack of general knowledge of high end sport in this country at youth level. We are still stuck in the put your foot in and dont lose at any costs mentality all the way through our game.

We dont breed winners and technicians of the game this way. Look back to the sixties the idea of put the foot in was there but the philosophy across the board was get the ball and play, make the ball do the work, they are gonna put the foot in lets not let them. This islost especially at youth level, Watch at your local park sometime, the kids have no idea what to do except give the ball to wee davies boy on the wing and hope the fact hes a wee bit better than everyone else and skins 11 guys and scores/

Anyways im going off on my original point lets see if i can remember. Ahh yess improving celtics woes. I see this as a bit of a toughie. AS always we need all our fans cheering, none of this humphing and hawing at every mistage and an air of nervous tension in the support a positive mental attitude superimposes itself onto others sometimes. In addition, i feel the club is lacking a general bout of confidence and this is not helped by the last point and it is the job of the management to keep this up which for the meantime they are failing to do on a consistant basis.

Furthermore i feel the squad is trying to do too much at times, they are trying too hard when on the ball. Next time you are playing a sport, work yourself up into a slight panic or bout of anger or frustration and see how well you play! bet its nowhere near your best. This comes with being able to deal with pressure and there is not much more pressure than playing for one of the old firm. This leads me neatly back to investment in the squad. If our players are suffering because of these reasons then it is suffice to ssay that they are not fit for the purpose. Do we need wholesale changes? no, but we need the right ones.

We need an arrogance without being cocky, we need a confidence without being egotistical. we need a realism that we simply cannot just turn up at the likes of hearts and get a result we have to work. I trust this is in hand via Mr Lennon and co if it doesnt change by the end of the year then i can see his position becoming hard to keep. We need a change in attitude accross the board from fans to board level. We need realism to set in and realise what we are a football club prided on scoring more goals than the opposition, of trying to play a neat and entertaining brand of football without fear of failure as if we do fail then we should come back stronger.

Ok gonna stop now im not even sure if ive put down what i meant, see these tangents!! god i even do my own head in. sorry for the long post hope it makes sense.

Evinguu

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Great post Evinguu, this team have a real character flaw in thinking they just have to turn up. Hearts, Rangers (second half) Inverness, M'well, Hamilton, last season. They just don't seem to get that you have to battle first.
I am afraid to say i think some of this comes from Lenny telling them they are world class. I am all for building confidence, but i think he has to stop blowing smoke up their arses, for want of a better phrase. Hard work is the only thing that will get us through this, and that is expected from every Celtic team.

Any truth in the rumour that two people got injured in Waterstones when they just brushed past the shelf with Chris Suttons books on and they collapsed in a heap ? {Ed007's Note - Well at least we know it wasn't Rangers fans. They have no need to be in a book shop, Waterstones don't sell colouring in books.}

ED a don't care what u say, Nel Lennon is not the man to very us forward, we r totally cack, honestly, Celtic r not a team to be reckoned with, things need to change and quickly, starting with Lennon!!! {Ed007's Note - When did I ask people to care what I say? I am not that insecure, just like I don't actually care what you say, I support CFC, their manager (whoever it is at the time), any player that pulls on that famous jersey (whether I rate them or not) through good times and bad. Just one question, what does very forward mean? Isn't that being pushy chatting up women?}
