Not Celtic related but just watched the penalty decision against Marseille for Bilbao. Initially the ref never gave the handball claim because it looked like the player just couldn't get clear in time but the goaline assistant changed the refs mind. An absolute joke decision as the GA would never have seen the incident! This stems on from last nights Spurs v Juventus game when the GA had a clear view of the Douglas Costa stonewaller.
Personally, I think its time to get rid of these useless officials. More often than not they have no relevant input and the odd time they get involved they screw it up. Marseille have been dominant and now find themselves with an away goal. If they go on and lose this tie, arguably that useless official could have cost them millions of Euros.

Maybe still bitter re Casper club and about Marseille in the big cup for their antics, all the while they were financially doping. With you on the officials especially the 4th one or GA assistant or whatever they are hailed. I thought that role was really a matchday sponsor FIFA sell to folk. Get yourself on the pitch on Champions League and Europa League matches be the GA/ 4th official only £5000 Euro, get to keep the official kit. This is why they don't get involved lol or so I thought.

Referees and linesman make enough mistakes without these surplus 'spectators' standing around like doolies, getting paid to do hee haw Over time, they have introduced a fourth official, four extra assistants at each side of the posts, goal-line technology and now VAR and every week we see all of them combined, still getting major decisions wrong and that doesn't include the honest mistakes up here.

I'm glad we're keeping it behind closed doors but gets you thinking if a player is back that no one expected or if there's a surprise injury, always interesting.

Well they wouldn't be anywhere to be seen? Like when everyone constantly went on about Rogic not being seen in Dubai.

Could be, we also do videos of the whole team training and it's quite easy to spot who is involved.

You spend your time looking at a couple of pictures and videos to guess who's secretly injured (facepalm) Do have access to every players' personal training regime because while some players might be running laps others might be in the gym or maybe working with the physio if that's what they need.}

It was a suggestion, people speculate all the time. Like any team we play if someone has missed training a few days before a game they are usually struggling with injury. I've not said anyone is injured or is back, I said it was interesting.

{Ed007's Note - Why are you talking about players missing a few days training now? That's totally different to the topic of the thread. For the last time, just because someone isn't in pictures or videos taken at training doesn't mean they're injured or that they've missed training. The reason, the ONLY reason, that there was no pictures from training was because Brendan Rodgers held a closed door training session and wanted it kept private.
Now I could speculate to why that is but someone being secretly injured wouldn't make the first 4728 reasons I would give.}

Weird thing happened to me this week.
Was talking to a guy about the tenants sixes tourement in the late 80s early 90s.
