Feel a bit sorry for PSG . Barcas 5th was a joke, never a pen in a million years Suarez should of got 2nd yellow for diving, reminded me of the one awarded against us in the last min in Turin against Juve in 2001. that's when i started to believe the CL was a corrupt competition always looking for the richer leagues clubs to progress.

Haven't seen the game, but it does seema bit incredible to come back like that, 5-3 down on agg with 2mins left. yet Barcelona win 6-5 on agg, by scoring 3 goals in the 2 mins plus injury time.!

Incredible or unbelievable, you chose, guess I will be looking for highlighs.

The CL gets some stick but one way or another that was one heck of an entertaining game.

The talking point for me though, is a yellow for simulation enough? After trying to con the referee into awarding a penalty and having been carded (caught, then) should Suarez have been on the pitch to win the second penalty?

Dive for the second penalty u mean Jim? U don't think that was a penalty do u?

Why was there five minutes of injury time?, never seen the game, was it just one of those games where the ref was going to keep playing till Barcelona scored or was there a lot of stoppage time?

Agree0 Disagree2

09 Mar 2017 07:39:33
The second penalty that was given steph, on the fence, wouldn't complain either way to be honest. I'd be wanting it if it was my team. He goes down easily but there's a foul there to be 'won'. Like I say, 50/ 50. Not for you I'm guessing?

Five minutes didn't seem ridiculous. Goals, cards, penalty decisions, players on both sides going down injured or cramped. I say more stoppage time needs to be added to all games.

It's certainly an intimidating place to go as many teams have capitulated and been swept aside; however I really feel referees are also intimidated and heavily influenced and the diving, faking and cheating is totally unnecessary for a team with so much natural (and expensive) talent.

Jim suarez could've scored but went down, if that was one of ours that risked getting sent off instead of scoring I'd be going off ma nut. He's very fly but he's the best in the business at it.

Watched a replay on kodi there after my lugs/ eyes were burning from all the attention. Credit for coming back. Two great teams. Quick round up of it for me is that it was without heart. Both teams players throwing themself's around looking to edge it, and Barcelona were better at it and won. Proffesional foul takers.
I hope the best ever cl come back tag doesn't stick. It wasn't a patch on liverpools.
I felt something that night as a football fan, it was fantastic.

{Ed007's Note - The best ever EC/CL comeback happened in Lisbon 50 years ago!}

Jim Suarez is an absolute $#! @ Steph, it's a shame because he's probably the best CF in the world. If they don't run rings round you, they cheat.

Wud be interesting to know your thoughts guys on the Arsenal game last night where Konscielny is yellow carded by the ref and then red carded for same incident.
I wudnt have thought a ref could do that as he clearly seen the incident and wudnt need advised by other officials.
The ref already made his decision and it didn't look a red.
Can u imagine that happening on sunday lol.
Incidentally ed, what are the eds down south saying about a 10-2 gubbing, if that had been us the English would be making a laffing stock of us.

{Ed007's Note - They found it pretty funny too, none of them are Arsenal supporters.}

I thought the way the rules had changed meant if you gave away a penalty you wouldn't b sent off as well, unless it was completely deliberate or violent conduct.

Rayman, did you hear Martin keown giving it all how it should have been a penalty? Never a penalty in a million years, u can't seriously give penalties where u win the ball first n catch a man, even slightly secondly.
Keown I can't take, awful player n all I ever remember of him was that bouncing about in ruuds face against united n barging him, clown. His pain was evident as the goals flowed haha.

So much for the greatest league in the world, 10 2 was a complete embarrassment for the so called footballing team from England, albeit pep is trying, we were more than a match for them, to get city playing that so called Barcelona football.

Now that Craig Gordon has signed his new deal, what's everybody's thoughts on a GK being recruited in the summer? Will CG be No.1 for good with DDV and Fasan remaining 2nd and 3rd choice or have we just ensured that any team wanting to buy CG has to pay good money for him? Personally, I was excited by the rumours of Costil being a target but that's probably unlikely now.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

08 Mar 2017 13:25:32
The reality is CG is a good keeper, but gets pelters on here at times for this and that.
Did u see Neuer at his near post last night, goes with fists instead of full hand which would have prob resulted in tipping over the bar.
If that had been CG?
My point is even the best goalies make mistakes and plenty do esp in the euros last summer.
And what would it cost to replace him as there is no point in replacing him with a weaker goalie a better one would cost 6-8m at a guess so its a no brainer.

See young bhoy hazzard signed a new deal as well anybody seen him in action.

I mentioned hazard a while back Mally. I think he'll be with the development squad for a good while and eventually take over under Gordon in the next couple of years. That's just a guess tho, id imagine Fasan and DDV will be shown the door in that time space.

08 Mar 2017 17:55:20
I've never seen him in action but is Fasan any good?
I remember a while back a lot of people seem to give him plenty of kudos?
Is he destined never to make it a Parkhead?

Rayman, spot on CG is a good (better than that) keeper despite pelters he takes on here. Apart from Fraser Forster and Arthur Boruc I can't think of a better keeper we've had in my time of being blessed to watch the world famous Glasgow Celtic and I'm the wrong side of 50 plus a (wee) bit. 🍀.
