Guys it's time for Armstrong to be sold, he has no intention of signing again. One good season is all we got from him. pity as the boy owes us.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't say this is the time to sell him but if he hasn't signed a new deal by the last week or two of the window I'd be looking to move him on. There's something doesn't seem quite right about the way it's been dragging on but I do hope they can get it sorted.}

08 Jul 2017 21:32:23
Totally agree ED, if he hasn't signed up by the middle of next month then punt him! Hope I'm wrong but if he was signing then I think he would have by now! Think that we should punt him for as much as we can get. like I said but hope I'm wrong and he signs a new deal! Just baby my doubts.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought resigning Armstrong would have been a formality after the season he' just had and the general feeling around the Club just now. Perhaps he's had his head turned with the promise of riches down south as I don't see Celtic having any problem with making him one of the higher earners in the squad in behind the likes of Brown and Sinclair.}

08 Jul 2017 21:49:42
Agree lads but definitely wouldn't sell him until after CL qualifiers as he won't be signing for a team in CL. How much you reckon we could get for him Ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - £8 million if we chance our luck??}

08 Jul 2017 22:00:51
It is a strange one this, something's got his attention elsewhere, would obviously like him to stay but if he chooses to go good luck to him, I'm sure we'll find an able replacement.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 21:42:04
What kind of money are brown and Sinclair on Ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Sinclair is getting paid somewhere between £30k - 35k then I'd imagine there will be decent bonuses and if Brown has a clause in his contract - most club captains do - that he gets paid the same as the highest earner he'll be on the same. I don't see Brown getting any significant pay rise under the new deal he's negotiating.}

08 Jul 2017 22:16:28
Aye definitely between 6-8 million! Got to say I was thinking the same as ED, thought after the season the club team and the boy himself had I thought he would have signed no probs! Said himself he's happy here. would be a blow to lose him but big and better than him have left! Like I said sign up or jog on son!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 23:00:51
As somebody who's not a supporter he can't really be blamed for wanting to chance his arm in England or abroad. I hope he stays but if he moves on I wish him all the best. After all, he gave us a terrific season, which is more than some.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 23:23:50
Why don't you all calm down, Armstrong is s brilliant player, enjoy him when we've got him, how long is his contract?, is this his last year?, so what?, I say keep him until the end of his contract, and let him go, why this obsession with getting money for him, keep him this season, he will be an asset if we are to go further in the CL, he is a much greater talent and more important to the team than a lot of people realise, I think he is finishing his degree or nearly finished, leave him alone, Brendan will probably convince him to stay, he does not need airheads badmouthing him, I didn't mean you Ed, just give him time to make up his own mind, maybe he wants to give up football and live in a tent and watch the sun going down on byrony bay or somewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've backed Armstrong on here since he signed mate so I'm glad you're not including me in that!! Seriously though it's just what football is and for a Club like us could we allow him to run down his contract - in saying that we let Commons do it and he was getting paid more than Armstrong.}

09 Jul 2017 00:06:32
Aindoh was that a serious post or a wind up! Just let him run his contract down and what's the obsession with wanting money for him! If that was meant to be serious then it's the biggest load of Shoite I've heard for a while on here! And uve got the cheek to call other people airheads! Let's just allow a guy we could get decent money for run down his contract and leave for nothing! And he's had more than enough time to decide what he wants to do! Like I said I hope the boy stays because I rate him highly! But if he ain't committed to our club then move him on and let somebody come in who is!

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 00:33:28
Aye right Aindoh we"ll just let him run down his contract and leave for nowt. Thank God you're no running our club. If he doesn't sign new contract we tell him he's leaving now to one of the interested clubs that he's obviously got his eye on.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Richer clubs than us don't let players with value run their deal down and Armstrong must know the choice is sign a deal or be moved on. I want him to stay and it looks like everyone agrees but for me at some point before this window closes someone has to make a decision.}

09 Jul 2017 00:46:38
Lh87, what I meant was, it is better to keep Armstrong untill the the end of his contract, and let him go for nothing, because he is s much more important player to the the team, with him, there is a much better chance of going further in the CL, and accruing the extra CL money, and you want to let him go for 6or8 million, and I'm the one that's talking Shoite, is better to keep him and tell him he can go at the end of his contract unless he wants to sign a new contract, and get the benefit of him for another season, money's not as important as quality of life, if he's happy at Celtic, he'll stay, if he wants to move he'll move, he has another way of making a living apart from football, if he wants.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If we were only going to get 2/3 million for him I'd understand keeping him but we should get a decent fee for him and without putting him down I don't think he is a player that I would say is the difference between CL Groups and the last 16.
With or without Armstrong I'm curious about what formation Rodgers is going to go with this season considering we know he likes to tinker - we could pick different teams in all manner of formations from the squad.}

09 Jul 2017 00:57:46
I have always wanted Armstrong to stay but I am afraid the time is getting close that we have to seriously be looking for offers for him . I thought we would have had him for most of his career but maybe he is so self centred that he doesn't realise the wonderful player Brendan has turned him into . I appreciate he worked hard on the advice and help he was given but before Brendan came his career wasn't heading in the direction it is now . He could probably earn more in the EPL but Celtic will not be offering him peanuts and will be giving him a chance to win plenty and play at the highest level in Europe.

Hes a cracking player chris and a lot of credit should go to brendans vision for him ronnie had him on the left wing when a blind man could see he was a centre midfielder but i think hed be better staying for a few more seasons and playing cl and then make the big move.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 11:49:44
I think he will sign. I hope so.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 01:26:41
Bang on Ed he's not a player that makes a huge difference to the side and if he has no intention of staying let him go now for 7 or 8 million. Saying that I wish he would just sign a new 4 year contract😭😭😭.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 06:39:27
Do you think it is telling that our last two signings , if we get the man city boy, have been central midfielders ed?
P. s. do you know why my posts haven't been getting put up ed? Don't remember upsetting anyone, not intentionally anyway .

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea bud, this is showing up as your first post.}

09 Jul 2017 12:39:41
I like SA too Ed and want him to obviously stay but your mind is drifting there to formation we are a team top top heavy with midfielders and now we seem to have added another two in Ntcham and the boy from Ipswich, Kouassi has not kicked a ball yet but was not signed at that money not to play!

What is our best midfield? It perplexes me when I see ANOTHER midfielder signed mate, You can't keep them ALL happy IMO

How does Kouassi and Ntcham fit in? I don't get it because if you go diamond shaped you take away our width? Our FB's already attack I think Lustig has even come on under BR and his fitness is better and injury free so where do they fit as you see it?

But please no more midfielder's in the door!

On a separate note any idea how much we got for Janko? (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Regarding the Janko fee, when I asked someone I thought would know the answer I got was, "We could have bought Barrie McKay and still had a bit of change left."
I still think Bitton will be moved on this summer and Eboue Kouassi will take his place in the squad and no matter the formation(s) Rodgers is going to use we will need a few players in there over the season. Whether it's 4-3-3, 4-3-2-1 or 3-4-3 there's a lot of games over the season and plenty of chances for players to get game time.}

09 Jul 2017 22:50:10
I hope your right about Biton moving on Ed, what Armstrong brings to the midfield are the opposite of what Biton brings to the midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Bitton is good in a certain system but he doesn't suit playing a high pressing game with lots of aggressive energy.}

10 Jul 2017 22:44:40
Sometimes it is a matter of balance . In my uneducated football mind, I think whilst Celtic playing a high up the pitch pressure game, Bitton can be very effective dropping back to take clearance from goalkeeper and start our procession rolling . He has also improved his tackling a lot and now is very adept at nudging the ball to a colleague . I am not convinced we have enough cover in defensive midfield to move him on .

08 Jul 2017 19:15:27
kouassi what's the score with him as he's not even a sub or did he even travel to dublin.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Eboue Kouassi is injured and stayed in Glasgow.}

New image uploaded to the
Celtic Player Sightings page entitled, Olivier Ntcham at Celtic Park?

Think it looks more like Yaya Toure with Wayne Rooney the one walking across the park. 🤣🤣🤣.

Got this from another sight. Olivier Ntcham having a medical at Celtic now.

yes seen that, according to reports he is talented but very inconsistent, so much so the club he was on loan to didn't take up the option to sign him.

08 Jul 2017 20:32:01
he had a medical today at ross hall.

Genoa are a mess of a club, wouldn't read much into it.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 01:02:21
It appears that we are close to signing a player who B R wants for our first team, yet we quote reports that S'day player is inconsistent . Why would any Celtic fan do this, sure we know SMSM will want to put doubts in our minds, and try to upset him before he even kicks a ball.
We won nine nil today and we still can be negative.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 14:45:24
its was put up because that's what it said about the lad and perhaps just perhaps that was the reasons that Genoa didn't take up the option to sign him perhaps it wasnt the reason, that's why this celtic supporter put it up chris.

Let's not judge him just yet, dillets.

Dembele didn't exactly light up the championship and sinclairs career was on its way down the pan.

Ntcham looks to have potential to be a great player with regular game time which he'll get with us.

He'll smash our league, gain confidence and hopefully do well in Europe.

I'm not underwhelmed by this signing. I think he will be cracking.

Good news for Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh etc and our Bogs, the Huns are talking of boycotting all away grounds, brilliant news 😁😁😁.

Too true Stevie. Even when they play at home the smell carries to Cambuslang.

Save them the bother and all clubs should just ban them and refuse tickets for their unsafe midden over in govan.

Here's hoping. what they don't realise is all the teams survived when they wer in the lower leagues for 4 yrs but could they survive if all the teams in the spfl boycott their ground? 😁.

Agree0 Disagree3

08 Jul 2017 19:29:48
Yes Wylie67, we could survive no problem. Only Celtic bring a sizeable support the rest are irrelevant.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2017 20:43:30
I think most SPL clubs could survive without the travelling support of Ross County, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, Motherwell, Dundee, blah blah.

08 Jul 2017 22:07:20
Uj you 🔔 end you didn't survive in 2012 so why so confident you will survive now?

Leave UJ alone guys for feck sake his feets still sare fae yesterday and his arse is still sore from his leathering in Luxembourg plus he's got a game in Belfast this week! ☘️.

Ed, I read somewhere that Chelsea are promoting Musonda in order to meet their quota of "homegrown" players. I take it he must have been there long enough to qualify as such?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Charly Musonda is an Under-21 so he isn't affected by that. If he does stay at Chelsea who have offered him a new deal he will be classed as homegrown for season 208/19.}

08 Jul 2017 15:59:27
To be fair I came across it on a Chelsea fan page. On another note, 4-0 at half time would suggest the players are hitting a stride at the right time. Same again on Friday HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We're playing well but the opposition aren't too hot at all, Friday will be another formality.}

08 Jul 2017 18:28:31
We could play the under 16's and give a tanking to that dirty mob on Friday.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jul 2017 19:10:07
I had a feeling today might be the day we clicked after the work done so far. Friendly and poor opposition aye (their no.23 is the worst defender i've seen for a while) but that was a good run out and will settle any nerves for what should be, yes, a formality. Regardless, we'll finish the tie at CP.
