Our club are quite correct making use of the Furlough scheme after all we have paid millions of pounds in taxes into the coffers over the years.
Clubs that have evaded paying their taxes, depriving the likes of the Armed forces and NHS of much needed funds should be banned from using the scheme🤔.

I think not sure but the company's that are getting support with the 80% has to show full tax accounts up to date? If Servco haven't got full tax accounts then they would not qualify for the help. I am sure some one can clear that up.

Personally I think it is an embarrassment that the club are furloughing the non playing staff, especially when the very highly paid players could take a cut and be sweet. Add to that the 30-odd million in the bank, absolute disgrace if you ask me.

Why is it an embarrassment royjac? Why shouldn't we take something back out of what we've paid millions into over the years. Why have employees with nothing to do at work putting themselves in danger for no reason when they could be at home with their loved ones. Every business is doing it except Celtic are making up the extra 20% so our employees are no worse off.

The Coronavirus retention scheme is for companies that would have to lay off their staff because they can't afford to pay them or would go bust in keeping them on and paying them, for me it is morally wrong for Celtic football club to be exploiting this scheme. Pure penny pinching as usual, I get there are loopholes not been closed by the UK government that allows us to use it but morally we shouldn't as we can afford to let the staff be at home and pay them.

All the top clubs around Europe the players have taken a wage cut to allow the staff to be kept on, we should be doing the same. And as I said we have 30m in the bank for christ sake, wrong just wrong.

I'm talking about the Government retention scheme, there are plenty of financially stable companies taking advantage of this scheme, they would be mad not to.

Just read that The Bundesliga are ready to start in May with 240 medical staff for every game. German efficiency at its best. They have the best survival rate in the world due to having the best testing resources. 1 of their two football chiefs had said the summer transfer market will collapse.

Whits all that about, 240 medical staff for every game, this is a virus it can be passed by breathing on someone else, coughing, sneezing, onto surfaces, and then someone else touching those surfaces with their hands and then touching their faces, bingo, you have the virus, whit is the point of the 240 medical staff?, is that to rush you to an ICU, whilst the substitute prepared to come on?

The medical staff will all be involved in screening all those involved before any game and making sure all are covid free fit and healthy for the games to go ahead.

The Daily Ranger make another howler.
They interviewed Marco Negri and he said the most important goal of his career was scored at Celtic Park.
The paper reported it as being the winner which of course it wasn’t. Big Stubbs came up with a last ditch equaliser. It turned out to be one of the most important goals in our history and went a long way to stopping 10 in a row.
It seems the Daily Ranger have forgotten all about the goal. Wishful thinking on their part.

Guys, slightly off topic, but anyway, as there's no football to talk about I thought I'd talk about something close to my heart. I'm a massive boxing fan. I go to a lot of fights and had a reasonably decent amateur career in my own right many years ago.
I've watched the Fury v. Wilder 2 fight numerous times on youtube and I have to say one of the best punches I've ever seen in boxing was in Round 5 at 1m 51 secs. Most people think it's only headshots that are impressive but that body shot was a flippin belter. The main damage was of course done in Round 3 but after that the left to the body was the stand out shot for me. HH.

Just watched Round 5 there - OUCH! But anything that Anthony Yarde throws could tumble a house - Daniel Dubois could disable a small hotel - my wife, me :o)

If the league resumes say even in June you could play 3 games a week and it's by in 2/ 3 weeks.

We could Mallythetally 67. but would the other clubs with less players be willing to do the same . Obviously we have no idea but it is just as likely that it is August or September before we can resume football.

Chris they play Sat Wed Sat as it is for spells during the season. it would take 2 and a half weeks to complete. they could have a few weeks off and do a mini pre season before starting next year and that could be pushed back a bit.
