Ed whit happened tae the Green Brigades banner that was supposed to upset the panty wetters on Saturday? You announced it and we left the pub a pint early to see it only to be disappointed. Ed? Ed? šŸ˜‚šŸ‘ā˜˜ļø.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I don't know mate lol I got a text on Friday night saying the banner was "going to be a belter", sorry. Did you remind your mates it's illegal to enter the stadium whilst drunk?}

09 Apr 2019 13:03:40
I did notice they held up a R. I. P message about someone so this might have a bearing on no banner as ed alluded to? Then again they might not have wanted bad media exposure at a time when football fans are continually flouting the rules and lawwell is issuing statements about conduct.

Surely the RIP was part off a banner with respect to Agnes. . the long serving laundry worker who was so popular with players and ex players .

In respect to this lady the other banner wasn't put up .

Just watched Broonys action that deemed him not to have acted in the best interests of Scottish football which really means he should have signed for the Govanites. Firstly, when he does it its immediately after it's announced over the tannoy that he's MOTM after being supposedly finished in the all seeing eyes of the Scottish media (no Masonic pun intended) after Ibrox game in December. Secondly, he's in front of the main stand not corner when he does it. Scotty Bhoy, sleep well. If I was up in court for that I'd be worried not a jot. Wee Barry Ferguson is correct the SFA have embarrassed themselves with this one.

This will not be a popular post which I do understand but I feel a little bit sorry for the hibs fan getting 100 days in prison for confronting a sevco player on the trackside.
This is his first ever offence of any kind.
He didn't actually try and assault anyone except kick the football. I know he could have been carrying a weapon but he wasnt.
The Birmingham fan punching a Villa player the next day didn't help with the publicity.
Why was the sevco fan who tried to assault Brown in the middle of the pitch not given jail time considering he has previous convictions as long as your arm and done prison time before.
The 21 year old hibs fan has 2 small kids and they have had to leave their family home for safety reasons.
The young lad made a mistake and with him being made a scapegoat hopefully it will stop anybody from making the same mistake because if you are a first offender you will go to prison unless you commit the same offence at ibrokes, obviously.

{Ed007's Note - Just shows you, Leon, remember Lennon at Tynecastle and the sex-offender that ran onto the park at Ibrox to confront Scott Brown.}

08 Apr 2019 19:02:14
Myself and Ed007 commented on the currant bun who was singing sectarian bile entering celtic park. He ran was caught and bit the copper. Slap on the wrist and 500 pound fine. Super salarys son wasconvicted of a hit and run which left the victim with a fracture skull and he had previous convictions. Sentence a slap on the wrist.

It still baffles me to this day that the guy who went for Lennon at Tyne castle didn't get jail time.

Pk85 he was allowed a second attempt.

08 Apr 2019 19:54:34
It was because the crown prosecution service blew it by charging him with assault ā€˜aggravated by religious prejudiceā€™, a crime that could not be proven. The guy was willing to plead guilty if they removed the ā€˜aggravated by religious prejudiceā€™ part but the crown refused to accept his plea. They then returned a verdict of ā€˜not provenā€™. It beggars belief that they could fail to get a conviction out of a crime that was committed on live television, particularly when the offender was willing to plead guilty. I donā€™t know if the prosecutor was reprimanded but he should have been in my opinion.

08 Apr 2019 19:57:07
Scott Brown was assaulted, yes ASSAULTED, twice during a game, maybe if the players knew that it would be a criminal offence to assault another player, charges would be brought.

Assault on the sports field = prosecution = jail time + 5 game ban.

08 Apr 2019 20:42:19
If the SFA actually find SB guilty on these ridiculous trumped up charges. Then SB should simply advise Police Scotland that he wishes to report being assaulted twice and verbally abused and threatened whilst at his work.

Hello everyone, long time reader and occasional poster. Love the site!
Other than the method of the assault, what is difference between Kent's punching of Brown and Duncan Ferguson's assault on John Mcstay?

FFS, you can't be serious with these posts! Trying to defend anyone that runs on the pitch to assualt a player and try and liken it to what happens on a football pitch. Maybe every player that gets injured should phone injurylawyers4u, after all they got injured at their place of work!

COYBIG is correct the hearts fan that assaulted NL should have had a similar punishment, but it was seen as being a sectarian related assualt, which was difficult to prove. If my memory serves me correctly it was around the same time as the Scottish government were trying to push their football bill.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2019 10:30:52
I've said it before, the sports ground is not exempt from Scots Law, it is a deliberate physical act against another, whether or not injury is sustained is irrelevant.

These overpaid clowns are not above prosecution.

09 Apr 2019 13:14:28
That's not an assault, sorry. More plausibly trespassing. 100 days in the clink is totally OTT.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Apr 2019 13:44:53
Exactly Stephbhoy! Like Ferguson's assault it was an outright blatant and totally away from any form of the match! Why was this not reported by the police? If it was in the street on cctv evidence he would of been put away! What is the difference here? These people are not above the law of the land!

In Scotland all the authorities, Police, judiciary, SFA, have a lenient interpretation for those who own, manage and play and supporters of Ibrox . The ordinary decent fans owners, managers and players of other clubs have far higher standards to attain and far more severe penalties if they fall short.

Morning Eds who would you like to see as new manager?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Marcelo Bielsa.}

08 Apr 2019 11:37:00
Who is he and is there any news or gossip towards us making any moves to get new manager at this moment?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's the Leeds manager and one of the most highly rated and respected coaches in world football. As far as I know it's still going to be Clarke or Lennon but my fingers are crossed that there's others being considered.}

08 Apr 2019 11:38:41
Just looked him up that would be pricey?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2019 12:34:46
Yeah I hope so Clarke I think wouldnā€™t take it and weā€™ll Lennon well at the moment that speaks for itself. I think it will depend on priorities what Celtics main ambition for next two years is it Europe or 10 in a row. As we all know money talks big building job next year with the squad we need to spend. now will that be on a quality manager or quality players under a not so big profile manager? Only time will tell. With BR we were spoilt I donā€™t think that will happen again unless DD got a taste for that overall stile of manager. What I mean is overall changes and professionalism to the entire club or does DD and PL want their club back especially PL only time will tell. I would like freshness again and not going back to Lennon and definitely not dull Clarke.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2019 13:05:51
The appointment is the most important, maybe since Big Jock?
Get it right and everyone's on a high; we 'tidy-up' the squad and bring in the quality we need, all ready to progress and improve.
Get it wrong and there's an anti-climax and flatness, then comes doubt, as confidence is transferred from Celtic to our rivals.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2019 21:23:03
Dunno why everybody thinks weā€™ve got a big rebuilding job to do. There will be players leaving, possibly quite a number of them but weā€™ve got a massive squad, probably enough to put out 2 if not 3 teams that could win the league. I hope we bring in a few big additions to the squad that will improve it but I reckon the majority of the team that will win 9 in a row are already at the club.

09 Apr 2019 16:30:09
I remember when the worse kept secret in the mid 1960's was that Jock Stein was going to be the new manager of Celtic . It was said the most important appointment ever .
54 years later, every time during these years the next manager to be appointed had to be the most important ever . Even 2 mths ago B Lennon had to be right.

Ed007, this lad Bayo, any reason he isn't getting any first team game time? Is he not good enough? On another note, the lad Shved we signed and loaned back to his club seems to be on fire at the moment. HH.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - From what I've been told and read it seems Bayo is a good bit off being anywhere near ready for the first team and I wouldn't be surprised to see him move to Leicester in the summer to hook up with Kolo Toure again.
Shved is playing well and if he comes in here and continues that form we could have a genuine challenge for Forrest out on the right.}

08 Apr 2019 11:47:06
Is he another raw rookie like Amido Balde?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think he's that good, OAB.}

08 Apr 2019 15:02:23
Said in January Bob that Shved was the signing I was most excited about. Looks a really talented kid. And he'll actually be ours!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2019 17:00:24
Rodgers seemed to rebuke Shved from the minute he was signed . I don't think Shved would ever have joined up for us if that thing Rodgers hadn't ran away . shaved may be one of the better transfers bought in without loan period during the Rodgers term and he didn't want him . It's even worse if he used this young player to try to win a point against someone fromCeltic.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2019 19:51:35
Shved will rip the league up next season as well as arzani and bayo, bayo is a class act you donā€™t get picked for your country if your average the boy looks quality in the air play and he will score definitely better than balde and will be major success if played along with eboue who is a beast just needs games certainly wouldnā€™t be playing biton ahead of a young up and coming player he was immense against zenit and yet he was dropped these boys are the future play them.

Kwaj. That just doesn't mare sense. , msurely BR insulted Shved by not letting have even one training seesion at Celtic and having no interest in him . After rebuking Shved in such a manner it would be crazy for Shved to join up with BR at Leicester.

Reading over the rumours the past few weeks about new manager and the polls, i genuinely would be frightened if it was Davie Moyes or Alex Neil, the thought of them gives me a cold shiver lol, someone mentioned mourinho or DD had already spoken to him? Although i do think its highly unlikely but what would be your thoughts if we could attract him here? Would his personality with team players get in the way as what happened at Man U? Go easy bhoys! Lol

Mourinho? His wage demands would be somewhere near our first team total salary. Plus he's a huffy shyte who throws his toys out of the pram.
Somehow I can't see him on the touchline away at Livingston or Ross County next season on a wet Wednesday night thinking he's made it to the top of his game so please folks, stop this nonsense talk. I know it's a rumours site but for goodness sake try to keep it at least a little bit real. I would suggest there is more chance of Slippy Stevie being our manager next season than there is of Mourinho. HH.

08 Apr 2019 10:37:22
chris have you forgotten, it was his dirty tactics that robbed us of the eufa cup in Seville. i loathe this man as much as the treacherous b. d that walked out on us. and trust me the special one would walk also because he does not know what loyalty is. SO no i would not want him even if he wanted to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Mourinho hates, nay detests the city Manchester and living in it so I doubt he would be interested in living in Glasgow.}

08 Apr 2019 11:14:10
Davie Moyes appointment would be the rests best chance of stopping the 10. Like yourself Chris it fills me with horror if we are thinking of giving the job to him. I would love Rafa or Martinez to take the job and be given a few quid to spend on a desperately needed quality right back and centre half to play alongside Tierney and Ajer. I think even with those 2 additions and good coaching we could make more of an impact in Europe i. e make CL group stages then be competitive, the league would then look after itself. I think it has been proven with Rodgers if we think a bit bigger when making an appointment, it pays for itself, we actually ended up getting Rodgers services for nothing with the compo when he left. Would like us to have the same philosophy with players, buy quality- pay big wages and if they produce the goods we are in a no lose situation. The problem we do have is initially attracting top talent to Scotland, but the bigger the manager the more chance we have of attracting quality.

Nourishing to manage Celtic illustrates the nonsense that fans get carried away with when they go beyond their level of understanding . There may be many clubs that Mourunho may be interested in managing and there are probably a few who would take him . Celtic don't fall ibro either category .
