Excellent day's work, the players were totally dominant from start to finish today and hopefully that's the performance that really gets our season going.

The leauge table is looking a lot better after this weekend, if we can return to the top in the next few weeks then I think the players spark will return.
If they have finally found a way to break down the ten man wall that most teams put against us then they have no other tactical options, they can't keep the ball from us, and they will begin to fear playing us again.
The next few games with the League cup semi are crucial to building momentum and we need to play with the drive we did today.

Everybody turned up today for a change . we played a high tempo forwsrd passing game with everybody completing their passes quickly and more impotatanly making the right pass at the right time. some good one pass football using good angles. speed and movement to go round through and past the opposition . hopefully we've got out of that monotonous slow side to back to side then repeat style we've been stuck with 'recently.

Great result.

I joined this site as a first time poster on Friday, but I got some things right already:

I explained the importance of having midfielders with beautiful blond hair. James Forrest clearly went out and dyed his hair golden and . voila! Four goals!

I said if Hibs can thrash Hamilton 6-0 then Celtic should beat St Johnston 6-0. voila! 6-0.

I said Celtic were an £80m squad and St J £7.5m and that KT alone was worth more (ditto Edouard, Boyatta and big Filip) . voila! An £80m performance.

Third spot in SPFL with one point behind Hibs and only three to Hearts. TRFC remain where they were on Friday in sixth spot. Despite the capitulation of Hearts, no improvement to position at all for TRFC. I’ll leave Hearts fans to judge their players.

An away win with a clean sheet.

A massive goal difference improvement.

At least 9 defenders now fit.

Another excellent goal from Odsonne. A very physical commanding presence.

Hearts will be very apprehensive after this weekend regarding the cup semi at Murrayfield. Their gameplay against the sixth placed team was poor.

Brendan has had four transfer windows now. He had three excellent windows and further signed 7 in the summer. Two new signings played at Perth; big Filip and big Odsonne. Mulumbu played very well in Austria. three good additions. No manager can expect to get all his targets in every window. Brendan will have other windows. We must stay positive and move on from temporary setbacks rather than dwell on them.

It appears everyone has indeed moved on, put the recent pish behind them, and the champions are back in the groove.

Hail Hail The Celts are here.

Is there anyway big lustig could dye his hair blonde 😂😂.

Excellent post Grey Heid, in stark contrast to the hysterical pish we’ve seen here recently. I’m hopeful that we’ll string a run of results together now but we’ve got some hard games ahead of us so we shouldn’t expect it all our own way. Hibs and Kilmarnock have got top class managers and I think they’ll cause everyone problems this year. I see them both becoming a force to be reckoned with in the next few years so these are exciting times for Scottish football. Hearts have started better than anyone but I think they’ll run out of steam and whilst the Sevvies look a bit better than they were last year, I think they’re going to struggle to keep up.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2018 20:43:04
COYBIG,
I can’t see the Sevvies achieving higher than fourth this season. They have a very Green manager. Very very inexperienced. He won’t have answers.

As the season progresses, the £80m Celtic 35 man squad will provide quality and depth incomparable in Scotland. Hearts and Hibs will succumb to injuries and cold weather hamstrings and knocks, without quality in depth they’ll struggle to match Celtic but continue to sit above TRFC.

Griff has declined Scotland duty to focus on 12 day’s fitness training for his club. That’s the drive and commitment we want.

The Terrible Treble Treble Terrifies TRFC.

I agree. My prediction at the start of the season for the final league positions was Celtic, Kilmarnock, Hibs, Aberdeen and Sevco. Hearts have thrown a wee bit of a spanner in the works but I still think I won’t be too far away.

Great result today, hopefully the start of a run of consistent performances. If we get to Jan top to close to it then we will pull away from the mob. We need serious in investment at the back tho, RB and we have a CB who doesn't want to be there and another who is on loan. Hopefully get at leat two in and a clear out of some of the players who need moved on;

Allan
Christie (if he can't get a game now then time up)
Kouassi (bang average at best)
Biton
Gamboa
Hayes
Benyou
DeVries

How much is that lot costing a week in wages, £100k?

I'd keep kouassi but send him on loan. Showed what he can do against the Russians at home.

Would offer him to Steve Clark at killie.
Would suit his team and the club treated Ajer very well.

07 Oct 2018 21:28:15
I know it's 3 comments in a row but who is the CB we have out on loan?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 21:35:53
I’d keep Kouassi as well. He can’t get in the team because Broony’s outstanding but he’s willing to train with us and wait for his chance. We need players like that in contrast to Dembele and the like. If we can convince Boyata to sign a deal I’d keep him as well but it’s probably unlikely. I think he meant, we’ve got Benkovic on loan, Kev.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 21:59:51
Like the idea of Kouassi going out on loan. Didn't BR send Ajer there to 'learn how to head-the-baw'? Think he needs to learn about positioning etc so a more winning team would be optimal. I think we'll probably keep him close and give him a run once the title is in the bag.

What I tried (and failed) to articulate was that of the back 4 yesterday, KT is the only one who is likely to be there at the end of the season. Time to start looking for RB and 2 c CB’s. Unless Boyata has a change of heart.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2018 14:21:37
Cheers again Kev, BTW anyone WTF is a levy (levee) ? Chinks, I think there’s a possibly Boyata might end up staying and I thought Benkovic was a 2 year loan? Also I expect Ajer and Simunovic to be here, Lustig will probably play less so he will need to be replaced but we’ve still got Gamboa and contrary to what some think on here, I think Ralston has got real promise.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2018 15:13:42
COYBIG, Benkovic is 12 months and they have option to recall in Jan. Despite Boyatas shenanigans I also hope he stays but doubt he will if he can double/ treble his wage. The badge means nowt to him or he would have played in CL. Ajer def one that might do a turn, JoZo has too many bomb scare moments and injuries. We need about 6-8 out the door and 2-3 quality replacements. BR needs to stop signing guys that are no better than what we have. He has done it again I this window.

08 Oct 2018 19:15:31
Cheers DRB, it’s still a pish lyric. Whilst I wasn’t impressed with Boyata’s behaviour at the transfer window, I’m not convinced it was as bad as our press made it out to be and BR’s managed the situation well. I don’t blame him for not caring about the badge. He’s Belgian, he probably supports a Belgian team so he can’t be expected to have the same commitment as KT or Jamesinho but he should have some more loyalty to his teammates. However, he might now be looking at Armstrong and McGinn who could both find themselves relegated at the end of this season and think, ‘do I want to take that kind of risk at this stage in my career’? I think that’s why BR was willing to stand his ground with him. Dembele was a obviously a different kettle of fish as he’s young and would probably have caused more trouble if he’d stayed.

I see RB Leipzig won 6-0 today to go 2nd in the Bundesliga and RB Salzburg won again to make it 10/ 10 in Austrian league. How did we end up in this group of death in Europa League😣.

07 Oct 2018 21:42:04
I think when we're on form we would give them both a game Kev but They are both something like 4th favorites for the tournament, Salzburg with a turnover and budget roughly the same as ours. They are the benchmark for us at the moment and where we want to be heading. The fact that they are both in the EL shows just how difficult it is to make a dent at Champions League level.

Right guys can we please put to bed this rubbish that we think Rodgers is away.

Stop listening to guys like Nicholas and Boyd.

Listen to Rodgers, he said this today.

But for me I’m so happy here at Celtic. My job, there is a challenge of course, because there is an expectation but it is something that I love with my staff, the players and the supporters here, they’ve absolutely been incredible for me here.

07 Oct 2018 20:21:07
We always expect disruptive speculation and seeds of doubt to be sewn by ex-huns and their media buddies, but what scunners me is guys like Nicholas and Common etc etc, who very rarely have ANYTHING positive or respectful about their ex-team, preferring to kiss-ass Sevco.
We needed that performance and result today, the manager knew it, the players put their heart and soul into it and the support loved and appreciated it. The rest of them can go and toss rubbish at themselves.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 21:40:11
Well said Kev, I’m sick of hearing this nonsense as well and it annoys me that Celtic fans still fall for it. This last couple of months has been the worst ever though.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2018 01:26:44
Delighted with that performance, was concerned we would miss Broony. Rogic stepped up were definitely more direct from middle to front, maybe because we didn't have broony in their breaking up play and retaining the ball? I do remember a similar performance without Broony against Hearts and we ripped them apart that night.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2018 10:22:14
Great display at last. Don’t listen to Sevco Ian’s trying to do their bit to plant seeds of doubt. They are full of rubbish. Even some from our own ranks have been posting utter garbage and they need to take a look at themselves.

We have had a tumultuous time but that happens. It’s at these times that leaders and players stand up. We stood up yesterday, now we move forward and continue to rip all the rest new ones.

The deluded think they are Barcelona now. Imagine the depth of their anguish when we put that hype to bed. I’m smiling right now at that thought. It has already happened, we have just to arrive.

Time for a vengeful terrifying slaughter to commence. I can’t wait.

They have slagged us stupid.
They have run us down
They have told lies about us
They have treated us with contempt

But now they have woken us up and we are in a **** of a mood.
Made us angry and now they should be running for the hills because we are coming for every one of them

Be it our team or our board room we are going to war and we intend to win

Today was just the start.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

07 Oct 2018 18:12:06
Absolutely spot-on Kev; Shame we have to tolerate another pointless and disruptive International break, as we cold use the momentum.
This was the Celtic display we have waited for since Sevco - ironically before another International break - and the players made a profound statement on a ground other teams have found tricky.
I have dreaded to think of a Celtic side without Broony and not for a minute would I leave him out, but the pace and fluency of our play was as slick and direct as I have seen for ages without him.

07 Oct 2018 18:42:55
Your last paragraph there is interesting OaB, First of all love Broony and the passion he shows, and there are certain games I wouldn't be without him, but I sometimes feel we are more free flowing when he is out for one reason or another. I've noticed this on several occasions over the past few seasons. We seem to be very sideways when Broonys pulling the strings. It's a difficult situation as he is pretty much un-droppable.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 19:11:22
Thing is I could have been just same with him in team today because the other players all found another gear.
Wasn't browns fault players like rogic Forrest ect have been posted missing as times this season.
I think he's still been doing his job but others haven't at times.
But it was great to see that we can play without him if and when we need to because at times the last few seasons we have always looked short without him.

Just been having a look at alternatives for terrarium. One I’m using just now is cinema very similar to terrarium and has subtitles (read one of u wanted them)
To get it on a fire stick go to downloaded app and type in cinemaapk. com then download latest apk takes only a couple of mins.
This also supports real debrid which if you like the true hd stuff then that’s worth buying.

I think BR needs to find a formation that best suits the players we have and fast, this is my preferred team for the moment with the players we have.

Gordon

Gamboa Boyata Benkovic KT
Mulumbu Brown
Kouassi
Forrest Eddy
Griff

A bit more solid and bit more balance to the team for me, with 3 defensive/ ball winning midfielder it will offer the defence a bit more protection and also allow Gamboa and KT the chance to get forward and create. Requires a lot of running the channels creating space and overlaps though from the front 3. To many of our midfield are off the boil and should be dropped.

Bain more than deserves a chance although BR can't see past Gordon.
Ralston and Gamboa are another two that aren't quoted, although everyone can see how much Lustig has deteriorated.
Ntcham has done nothing since scoring the winner against Sevco, while Mulumbu looks keen to impress and the Griff/ Eddy combo needs work.
I would like to see something like this?
With Gordon, Eddy, Izzy, Rogic, Ntcham, Lustig, Johnston in reserve:-

Bain
Gamboa Boyata Benkovic/ Simunovic KT
Forrest Brown Mulumbu McGregor Sinclair
Griffiths.
