Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Like everyone else I hate these international breaks so let me get back to our CL campaign.
I was talking to a couple of my Celtic buddies and was worried about the complacency they were showing for the double header against the German team.
Their attitude seems to be, after the City game we are as good as nailed on for 6 points. Yes we played well against the EPL millionaires but we still only drew, it will take another 2 big, big performances against Borrussia for us to come out on top, I can maybe see us winning at Celtic Park and losing in Germany as our away form has always been poor in europe. What we must try is to better their score say win 2-0 here and lose 2-1 over there then our head to head would be better. Then we must try and keep ahead of them in final two games to gain Europa spot.

Tim I think it's a double edged sword. we all want to sign players with an international pedigree and we all want our players to do well on international duty, then we complain when it disrupts our momentum. We can't have it all un-fortunately these games are a necessary evil.

We must adopt the same attitude for every game must be the same, the attitude against Barcelona was disgraceful, this 'we are playing the best team on the planet attitude ', is a lot of crap, other teams won't stand back and admire these ' superior players', they will get stuck into them, they will attack them, they will expose their defensive frailties, they will lose goals but they will score goals, BMG is the hardest game for Celtic on this group, but it is the most winnable, play the right way Celtic can win in Msnchester and Barcelona, but underestimate BMG, and they are doomed.

Pretty sure the attitude is the same for every game. After the City game Rodgers and Brown both said the focus was on Dundee and getting the win there.

Some supporters might lose the plot. Brendan it the team won't. This is a top Bundesliga team and they are the favourites. We will need a top performance at home. I'm still not convinced we are atrobg enough to win in the road yet. If we take 3 points at home I will be happy.

The truth always comes out sooner or later . I have for quite a while wondered whether Aindoh was actually a Celtic supporter, it wasnt just him talking about Dembele, the young one receiving some form of child abuse at Celtic, it has been the level of hatred he has shown towards many Celtic employees and never praising any .
However the clearest sign of the lot is from his post above when he referring to Celtic say THEY will be doomed .
The rest of us, may criticise Celtic managers and players but we always claim some connection and certainly not they.

Oldbhoy your getting a bit pedantic now are we not, the child abuse thing was the wrong phrase to use, I accept, am just not happy with all this pressure being put on a thirteen year old lad, would it have did him any harm to keep him out of the limelight for snother year, anyway I must have missed your view on it, are you happy with the way a thirteen year old has been thrown before the workds nedia?

Bmg a harder game than barca? That's the most rediculous thing I've ever heard!

I hope to God it's not true after the 7 they put past us last time because if it is we are in a whole lot of trouble bhoys.

The reason Barcelona won by so much wssnt because they are so good, it was because we were so bad, we have to get rid of this notion that Barcelona are the best team ever, and just stand back and admire them, there is a way to play them and a way not to play them, and we were the epitome of how not to play them, it will be a harder game because the section of the support who expect Celtic to get a result just by turning up, they (Oldbhoy knows who I mean) , will be disappointed, this will be a hard game because Celtic have to give their all, that will be enough to winn anything less the they are doomed ( Oldbhoy knows who I mean)

Sorry man I have to disagree.

In 11 meetings since 04 we've beat them twice and if I'm being 100% honest we were more than fortunate to win those games.
Have they not won the CL 4 times in the last 10 or so years under 3 different managers?
The 7-0 game I agree we didn't turn up but Barcelona were superb.
Every time we lose a game we can't blame ourselves that's just ignorance.

I'm sure fergie could have used your tactical knowledge when his all conquering man utd teams were being embarrassed by them in the CL finals lol.

If we put the same effort into the next 4 games in the CL like the city game I'm positive we will have European football after Christmas.

I am not sure what you mean by workds nedia?
It is just as troubling as coming across a poster who I thought was a Celtic supporter who has now gone to the other side and when he speaks of Celtic he refers to Celtic by speaking of they .
P
Sometimes posters get carried away with their own importance and instead of worrying about the threat of a possible injury, he seems to think the workds nedia or is it ( world's media would have all assembled for that Celtic under 20 match . I would have surprised if there was any media present from more than 50 miles away . I don't think many from South America U S, Eastern Europe, Australia or Africa would been bothered . I would imagine local Scottish media would be far more damaging to Dembele's long term Celtic career.

So Oldbhoy, you think it was a good idea then to play the thirteen year old lad, we will have to disagree on that,

Had to have a chuckle at that Oldbhoy, 'sometimes posters get carried away with their own importance', couldn't think of a more apt way to describe yourself.

Aindoh, I really have no idea whether it was a good idea bringing the World media to the West of Scotland to watch a 13 year old play 10 minutes in an under 20 game I would assume that the Celtic Football club employ experts who are on the spot and have experience in accessing these things . I would expect they would put both the short term and medium term future of Dembele first and foremost .
To be quite honest I think it is very pompous of u Aindoh, from afar to keep going on about this as if you could have the slightest notion whether on this ocassionu happen to be right or whether this is just another example of u rambling away for self importance.

I really despise the international breaks. First of all I have no interest in international football and will rarely watch a match. Secondly, we always run the risk of players getting injured or returning late after a massive journey from the other side of the world. Thirdly, it gives our manager less time to work with players and get them ready for the next match. Fourthly, I find it really boring as often have to go a couple of weeks without watching my team.

I don't like the international breaks either. I don't mind watching the actual tournaments, but these qualifiers don't interest me at all.
Could they not play these games at the end of the season in one go and get them out of the way?, if clubs could play during these international breaks then the season could finish about a month earlier, then the national teams can play till their hearts content.

Agree3 Disagree3

07 Oct 2016 12:59:48
Summed it up well Rab; These breaks just spoil a season and hamper the preparation, momentum and sometimes the fitness of our players.
Delighted Scott Brown has packed it in though and would others like LG to do the same - as WGS hardly plays them anyway?

anyone playing an international match gets experience playing against better players in different systems in ranging conditions. Celtics problems is the Scottish league is not always hard enough to progress some of the players careers.

Players can get injured carrying in the shopping from the car and if you worry about getting injured, then you probably will. A good run in qualifying or a tournament can also add value to a player.

You all sound miserable get a vodka down ya and get on bits and pieces! still tickets for tomorrow :) £30.

I had chance of hospitality tickets a while back as my mother in law won them on the radio and I knocked them back. So can't see me paying to watch that pish.

International games are far more frequent than they were even ten years ago . Groups for World Cup and UEFA championship have grown from 6/ 8 to 12/ 14 . These extra games makes life more difficult for club managers and the clubs in general . R O I are playing their games on Thursday and Sunday which is a good thing for the clubs .
Finally Celtic's big problem is that they have International players from nearly every corner of the globe, making travelling a major problem.

I geniunely lost interest since USA 94. Even international football is business now. If a player is an international cap, he is worth more £. These tournaments are like shop windows now rather than football.

Am the same rab, have got little interest unless it's a big match. Thing is for a lot of players it's the pinnacle of their career to play in tournaments. We just need to learn to live with it mate. Am wae Dan it's swally time.

its not just the fact that the int game is on - you just get no info on your own team from the usual media outlets

even the tumbleweed is rolling around in here

whereas the banter is flowing leading up any game but esp up to CL and OF games.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2016 16:05:51
that is the problem with media! sometimes there is no news and better to have no news than some pointless story to fill a page.

Talking of banter, did anybody else think still game was a bit rubbish last night? I thought the live show was a low point but last night was scraping the barrel big time. Slow and predictable.

there must be something happening inside celtic - surely the club doesn't close to go watch Scotland.

much preferred chewin the fat - not a big fan of still game.

There are a hell of a lot of players who seem to dream of playing for a bigger more successful International team than the team of their birth . Some managers like WGS must have weird dreams about players playing for Scotland, for example Chris Martin.

Agree0 Disagree1

Most Celtic players could arguably be playing for worse players whilst on International Duty or at best worse motivated players .
