Heard that scott brown has broke his foot in two places, the boy is not my favourite player by a long chalk, but he has had no luck whatsoever recently and i feel sorry for the lad. Celtic are having a hard time on the injury front, but hopefully ki will now get a run in the team, i like the look of him and this could be his chance,

Sorry ed. think he may be a python fan. All right . . all right . . but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order . . what have the Romans ever done for us?
Ben Bhoy 1916 {ed's note - irrigation was already in use thousands of years before the Romans, as was medicine, education, roads, freshwater systems, baths and public order. Nothing they did was new, they just improved upon others technology but because they wrote the histories they have been remembered as the inventors. It would be like people looking back 2000 years from now and talking about the Japanese inventing cars. Similarly we talk about the Mongols as destroyers of empires and barbarians etc, yet those same Mongols created the Ming Dynasty in China. What you are talking about is not history, it is propaganda.}

Again, sorry ed. You miss the point. It's from Monty Python's Life of Brian.

Ed,

Either you're a history teacher, or the Romans did something seriously nasty to you in a previous life, as you really keep knocking them!
Anyway, everyone please remember this is a BANTER page about fitba'!
'Mon The Hoops! {ed's note - I have nothing against the Romans at all mate, I just like the truth.}

Love reading the john hartson story that is in the sun just now, he has been through a lot, but hopefully it's behind him now. I loved his goals, and also think he is a good pundit, as he tells it like it is.
All the best to big bad john, he's got no hair but we don't care, walking in a hartson wonderland.

RE: {ed's note - you need to stop believing what amounted to Roman propaganda regarding the Hunnish people. They were not intent on tearing apart civilization at all, nor were any of the barbarian peoples that bordered the Romans. It was purely propaganda of the kind that we face these days regarding Muslims etc.}
Apologies. Lesson learned.
Ben Bhoy 1916 {ed's note - sorry, I was on my high horse a bit there, I just think it is a shame that we judge everyone by Roman standards. The fact that to call someone a Hun or barbarian is seen as an insult just seems unfair on those peoples. They were just at war with the Romans and it is not good to put your enemies on a pedestal!}

The Romans eh! Huh, what have they ever done for us?

Scott {ed's note - not as much as people think actually mate. They never built the roads for instance, they merely improved the existing ones.}

To ben bhoy
hun was used by the british as a derogatory nickname for the germans in the first world war.
they used the same propaganda as the romans.
the royal family have german roots, now link the gers fans support of the royal family.
so its best not using the H word if you don't want to upset them.
