Anybody know how rogic is getting on with injury? And also james Forrest's latest injury.

I think Forrest will be fit for the Old Firm? To be honest I'd prefer Roberts starting. Against St. Mirren it was like night and day when GMS came off.

For me the top and bottom is that from Forster to Gordon the GK position is one we've regressed in. BR did bring in another keeper, but seemingly was a failed exercise. Gordon has shown better form since then, but I wouldn't be surprised to see BR try again. Hopefully Chelsea come back in early doors and CG's contract extension means we squeeze a bit more out of them.

Forster wasn't all that for a big man he did not dominate crossed balls. can't fault Gordon of late although not really tested, will see if improved in champs league. getting better goalie would cost at least 5mil . would rather see that spent elsewhere. need a couple of centre forwards.

Arsenal proving tonight the EPL is the best league in the world πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, when will they realise just because you spend the most money on transfers doesn't mean you are the best league, im sure nobody sees China as a top league just because they spend loads, champions league is just a money maker for uefa, I look back through the history and all those teams that used to be big clubs in Europe marred coz money is unevenly spread between the leagues, I still can't understand why a fourth placed team has any right to be in the competition unless they won it the previous year so they can try retain it, should simply be winner of each league in Europe, the only time the completion is exciting is the group stage, always an upset to occur, when you get to knock out stages it's always the same rich clubs, ground hog day, rant over.

Said before, the CL will soon have the same attraction as a preseason tournament, the general public will soon get bored ( I already am, unless we are involved) then the advertisers will cut it loose. Time for fans of other clubs to boycott it and speed up the process. It can't even loosely, be called a competition any more. Time for an alternative competition in the true sense.

I love any team from the EPL getting humped! Nothing gives me greater pleasure than checking the scores and one of that lot have took a hiding! Probably like many on here I don't watch champions league games unless we're involved and I can't remember the last time I watched a full EPL game!

The money these teams get makes me sick! Can you imagine for a minute the reaction from down there if we'd got humped 10-2 on aggregate! I can just see there smug faces rite now. but hey it's still the biggest and most exciting league in the world! πŸ˜‚πŸ™Š overrated, overpriced garbage!

Things that really grind my gears about football and all that surrounds football. What gets on your goat?

- players diving, or going down after taking a slight knick on the shin and holding their face.
- players claiming for throw ins, corners etc even when it is blatantly obvious they just booted the ball out the park.
- goalkeepers who cannot defend their near post.
- goalkeepers who come for crosses and flail, claim a foul and usually get it given.
- Players being allowed to take throw ins 20 yards from where the ball went out.
- people who think they are great and write long as hell posts on forums.
- Corners that don't beat the first man.
- referees. just referees, nuff said
- people saying things like "i could of been a player, i was good" . aye ye wur!
- Players wages
- folk droning on about the provisional armies and lodges and religion in sport etc etc
- FOCUS and the OBFA
- bias commentators, esp English ones when England are playing
- Pundits and players who dismiss opinion because you weren't a pro
- Journalists who dismiss opinions because you aren't a journalist
- Phil Mac Macgiolla Bhain.
- The same club myth
- Football authorities. see referees.
- Folk who are 'in the know' who quite obviously are not.
- Folk doing lists and who use the terms 'on your goat' and 'grinds my gears'
- Folk going on about the good old days where a challenge was a challenge and men were real men.
- Park the bus tactics
- The amount of players and coaches in Scotland who do not want to progress the game at all but maintain the status quo.
- Fully artificial pitches.
- Radio phone ins where the topics of discussion are the same things year in year out.
- Transfer deadline day
- The transfer market in general.
- Sly spurts
- That groan noise at home when a pass goes astray!
- That guy who sits a few seats away that has been going to games for years but doesn't get the offside rule. or any rules for that matter.

there are many more but i shall stop there.

On Sunday St Mirren came up with a system that troubled us for quite a while and our own team selection helped the Saints also.
Firstly to the good planning by the Paisley team in making Celtic play from the back using Boyata to distribute the ball, as we all know Boyata could not hit a barn door with the ball two feet away.
Secondly playing GMS ahead of Roberts was a huge mistake by Rodgers, GMS has neither the skill nor the heart to play in our first team.
So on Sunday surely the distribution must come from Biton or Armstrong, I know Biton slows play down but he is surely a better passer of a ball. I think it is clear also that Roberts MUST play ahead of GMS we look better when he plays. The third thing we must change for Sunday, which I think it will, is our attitude, against St Mirren we disrespected them and thought we just had to turn up to win.
Make these 3 changes and we will run all over the top of the tribute act.

Think gms started due to paddy havin been out with the injury. and hell start for sure on sun . But think the big decision is whether to play griff and leave Bitton on bench.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 20:24:42
I think a combination of our tempo (or lack there of) and slackness made St Mirren look a bit better than they were - even early on.

Let's not GMS missed a sitter and Biton should have been one on one if not for dodgy offside call.

Point is we were getting in behind before they scored (from an admittedly well worked set piece, it happens) and continued to do so after the goal: dembele missed a sitter, and gms again when two on one picked wrong option.

8-0 now if we don't hit 8 we will be slagged off and give the smsm the excuse to water down our victory.

Over our last six games (what a lot of form tables are based on) we've averaged nearly four goals a game. Not bad considering we've supposedly been a bit flat. I've already gone with Celtic -2 on my coupon. There's a sense of optomism coming from the Klan, and I think it's a false one. One good, and quite fortunate, result against Hamilton at home has them thinking that coming to Celtic Park playing an unbeaten side nationally is going to be a similar sort of animal. We'll be a shock to the system, they haven't played a side in their own back yard anything like us since, well, since we knocked five past them. Comfortable win for me, hopefully on the back of an Aberdeen loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 18:32:11
Jim Tim i am betting on 3-0, 4-0, 5-1. I will also have a Celtic -2 bet just to cover the coupon. We will horse them. Just about how many. They are not appointing any manager till end of season. Bring him in now get beat 3 or 4 times till end of season and season tickets drop through the floor so they will wait and hope new manager sells tickets for next season. Otherwise they will go into admin again.

I have said before that my No.1 transfer target this year would be Paddy Roberts on a permanent contract.
Does anyone know if he would be interested and if this is something the management/ board is pursuing?

For me Sinclair has moments of class and has been quiet of late but still brought in goals - brilliant pace and loves to run in space to exploit defences especially on the break.

Moussa is undoubted quality, solid work rate, improving all the time. Some of his goals and movement are amazing.

Paddy for me is the guy who can make things happen. When he has the ball at his feet he wants to take defenders on. He has the skill and vision. For me a joy to watch.

I would break the bank to keep him here. If not let's hope he says farewell with a treble.

And we still have Rogic and super Leigh.

@Island celt : Roberts came out the other week and said his aim is to get into the Man City 1st team, so unless there is a shift in his thoughts or Celtic can make him an offer that makes him want to stay, then I'm afraid his is going back to City . I don't think BR is a big fan of bringing in loan players as they are not there for the long term.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 11:59:09
Just going on what he says, it looks unlikely he will stay.
The only thing that might be in our favour is that he's unlikely to break into Man City's team, even Aguerro is on about moving on as he hasn't been first choice lately.
Maybe if he weighs things up he might think his future lies away from City, but I think that a lot of other clubs would want to sign him as well.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Mar 2017 12:17:49

Agree6 Disagree3

07 Mar 2017 15:17:28
As much as I would like him to stay - I don't think there was ever a chance due to the players priorities and if Forrest was fit, I think he would be on the bench most games as BR seems to prefer him anyway.
Add to this long term absence and injury history of Rogic and I would expect us to sign at least one creative player in the summer.

07 Mar 2017 16:57:11
Cheers bhoys
Can't blame the bhoy for wanting to break into the city first team.
For me he is the type of player who is worth the admission.
Let's hope we got a replacement lined up.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 17:31:31
Certainly that position is my priority.

I'd love Paddy to stay. My gut feeling has always been that he'll want to give it a go in the EPL, nothing scientific from me there admittedly, but so far the noises he has made haven't been very contradictory to my hunch. They jey would be though, City turning round and and saying he can go. Could an EPL side guarantee him the games?

I think the signing of Scott Sinclair has shown how weak Forrest really is, if anybody didn't already think so. Although he is having a good season by his own standards, it still isn't good enough is it really. Sinclair's goals haul blows his out the water. Tommy Rogic has scored more and has spent months out. Armstrong has even scored more from centre mid.

Roberts for me is a much better footballer. Better technically, better vision, and five years younger. Somebody I'd certainly move Forrest to one side for.

solanke on a free from chelsea maybe?, think he plays AMR or ST, would markovic on loan at hull atm be a realistic option?, or would he cost the earth?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 19:55:50
I was thinking Solanke would be a great addition for us. As competition and a bit of a project. I read on another page (Arsenal I think) that even Chelsea are balking at his wage demands though. Chelsea have a few players out on loan I'd keep one eye on.

Ideally for that right berth we'd get a left footer. I know it's not everything but one advantage I will say Sinclair and Roberts have over Forrest is that they can cut in onto their stronger foot.
