I thought it was a nice gesture from the club to invite the young lad who was attacked last week, to meet the manager and the players.
It was a very cowardly act, and the person responsible should hang their head in shame, he could have killed the boy.
Hopefully the response from the club and supporters will mean the lad and his family will see the values of the genuine Celtic supporters.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Nice gesture. Was suggesting to friends the club should do something like that. Really glad they did.

There has been a lot of doubters about bitton and some about johansen which I feel are stupid! What biton does allows brown to close down with cracking cover I really feel that he is being coming an integral part of the team and a one of the first picks on the team sheet! It's n coincidence that 6 clean sheets have happened with him in the team! And his commitment to cancel his honeymoon short to get back in to impress RD that shows desire for the jersey I take my metaphorical hat of to what I think is our new unsung hero for years to come!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Lets wait until after the Milan game before we get carried away that will be a better judge of who is fit for purpose and who is not

Very nicely done today Celts, easier than I anticipated, some really neat entertaining play on show. Big Virgil just strolls through these matches.
I hope the injuries (Lustig and Commons) are minor.

One year ago tomorrow we were out of the League Cup, out of the Scottish Cup and out of Europe. So where's all the Ronny doubters and clowns wanting him sacked went to?

It's great to see the manager and the players agree with the fans about winning cups and the treble. Let the board and the customers like rayman worry about money, any supporter worth their salt wants to see their team win trophies. If you get any tickets for the league cup or Scottish cup final Rayman will you be selling them? I'll take them off your hands no problem and that'll give you more time for you to sit and play monopoly or study the clubs accounts, you know the important stuff to the plc customers. You keep counting the money and us supporters will keep counting trophies

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Just shows the mentality of some fans where they think last season was a success cause of a clean sheet record.

Its good seeing certain snipers eat a good sized piece of humble pie! Especially the ones who were slating me for saying things like IN RONNY WE TRUST.

Agree3 Disagree2

Had my doubts at the start. The very start. But having read about him and told a few things of Ed I've been behind him most of the way. He needs the full backing of the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

Goodness me LOL!

Seriously guy? Rayman is as much a Celtic fan as anyone. If Ronny doesn't win the treble, will that make him right and you wrong? Do you have any idea how lame this is when you say it out loud to other folk in the real world?

We might have treble on the cards here and still the bitching because fans had doubts about a new Manager?

Agree1 Disagree2

Here fishy fishy fishy. There's always one.

Agree3 Disagree2

Aye good comeback AM, jings :-)

Fans who have their doubts, still have them AM. Its not gone away.

Agree1 Disagree1

At this point we have won nothing but a bit happier with how things are going. At last the team have a bit of believe about them but still not converting the chances we are creating and that will come back to haunt us if it doesn't improve.

Agree1 Disagree0

A good fan supports the team whether it's winning everything domestic, or just the league or even if not winning . I remember in the 90's we even got things to be pleased about .
Only glory hunters demand everything and can't be happy with less.

Agree2 Disagree0

Soz wasn't back in time to post Mrs E was travelling back from Derby lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

@rayman What are you 2, a tag-team? You must be gutted, Celtic won an unimportant cup game and Bolton got towed as well. Let me know about those finals tickets btw and if you're getting rid of any tickets for the Inter game I'll take them too. No point you going to watch a europa league game just to sit in a rage that it's not the cl.

Was it an official #celticfamily trip to Derby?

Agree1 Disagree1

We are remarkably consistent - even down to the 2-0 score lines and the string of clean sheets are formidable.
Biton and Denayer have contributed to that immensely, however Scott Brown is having his best spell for the club. The current run includes a host of away fixtures that could have been tricky, but all credit to RD and the players.
We have got to be happy with the surge of momentum and confidence, but I do wish we would score a few more goals along the way.
We have absolutely dominated in recent games and have been head and shoulders above any opponent.
But, I think our possession and play has not been capitalised on fully.
The two new additions will also give us more options and our opponents more problems and I am actually looking forward to every game with confidence and that wasn't happening earlier in the season.
Well done to RD and the Bhoys.

Agree1 Disagree0

Delighted that the team is consistent now. Forrest though has a lot to do IMO. GMS will have no problem replacing him.

Hope Commons is not badly injured as with Lustig. Armstrong may just get in the team quicker than expected.

Looking forward to the next game!

Agree1 Disagree1

@AH you set the fishing line, I just extended it. Seems you been caught in the your own net lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

@Rayman Are you struggling to read?

Agree0 Disagree1

@AH Oh by the way were you at the barca game when we beat them and got to the last 16? How did you feel that night? Wud it surpass beating a ST. Mirren in a league cup final? Wud you feel better knowing we just banked 20m going into a transfer window? Or would you rather have nothing going into it?

Agree1 Disagree0

@AH it seems you are more interested in me than celtic, sad really. Soz but me and DN are dating now so if you would kindly stop trying to attract my intention as DN gets jealous now. thanks in advance.

Agree1 Disagree0

@Rayman One cl game against Barca lmfao you' need help son. What was the score last time we played them? You're starting to believe your own trolling. I'd rather see us win a cup against St Mirren than losing to Braga or losing 3-0 to Milan. You want us to get beat in cups and celebrate us getting towed in Europe you mug! Modern customers like you are why the crowd at Celtic Park is down. There's too many customers and not enough fans. You're a Celtic fan that would rather they didn't win trophies.

Going by this season we've done not bad for having no cl that you need before supporting the team. we're on course for a treble and still in Europe, signed 2 of scotland's best players in a January window, already spent 2 million on Scepovic, put the zombies in their place, the team hasn't conceded for weeks and are looking better every game. But all that's pointless to you as we didn't get the cl, you don't care if we win the treble as we didn't get cl, and we still posted a 6 million profit do you still want Ronny sacked? What else do you want the club to do as its not as if peter lawwell will spend all the cl money on the team.

You've done nowt but knock Deila since he came in and now you're looking like a fool over things you said. are you saying that the quality of the team, the playing style and the overall feeling around the club isn't better than it was last year?

Ronny Deila will become of the best managers we've had in the last 30 years. If he wins the treble he's blew Lennon out the window in his first season.

And he's not even "Celtic minded"

Mind Let me know about those tickets there's no point you going and I'll make sure they go to people who deserve them, you could always donate them to the Kano Foundation.

Agree0 Disagree0

@AH no point in debating with you as you only look to have a go. IF and WHEN you can tell me that I asked for RD to be sacked then we can talk. But I think you will find that an impossible task. You also choose to ignore the praise I have given RD recently and I sure even DN has noticed that.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Feb 2015 14:28:21
Brilliant to hear the fans sing RD name. I've backed him from the start and anybody that thinks he isn't doing a very good job can't see a top manager in front of their eyes. Really think RD can take us to a new level, starting to get a very good team on the park. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

@DN30 It looks like a lot of folk on here will need to do some serious backtracking to try and save face. I'd love it like Keegan to see the team and Ronny win the treble and a huge gifuy to the fickle two faced fans who never gave him a chance.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm the first to admit I did not think he was xperienced enough to manageCeltic. However, I'm also open to suggestions and serious criticism and I read what was said by the eds and some of the more level headed site members and gave him benefit of the doubt. He got two bites of the CL cherry and failed which, in all honesty, I don't think NL would have lost. Anyway, stuck with him and his fitness priority and I can see the benefits coming bit by bit. He is slowly progressing and you can see that in the team. I don't think the treble is that far out his reach and Europa is a nice wee bonus for him. He might just surprise us ther. Win it, very difficult with Spurs liverpool etc but hey, 90 mins is a long time in football, we, at least, are still in it. Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree1

AH every Celtic fan bar none will love a treble, here's hoping we get it. RD made some dreadful mistakes at the start of his tenure but he is learning and the team is starting to gel and put some wins together. Don't forget this time last year we were twenty pints clear in the league I don't see how you can minimise this

Agree0 Disagree0

@Amateur Horticulturist I know mate. Its amazing some of the snipers who were running the guy into the ground and all of a sudden cause his team beat the current tenants of ibrokes he is a hero in their eyes now. These same supporters were calling for Deila head a couple of weeks ago when Aberdeen went top, although we had games in hand.

I hope he gets the treble and beats Inter not for the fans, but for him to say "get it right up yer hoop" to snipers

Agree0 Disagree0

@Groutdoc You can win the league with 1 point or 20 points you still only win the league and I would still prefer watching us winning a Scottish Cup final than watch us get pumped 6-1 from Barca. Trophies are what matters to a club the size of Celtic, far too many fans think they are accountants and come out with nothing bs. they're embarrasing themselves.

Look at the figures released, we had no cl but we sold Forster and have £6 million profit. Nobody seems to have noticed that, we've strenghtend the team and are still in 4 competitions and some of our so called supporters are saying they still have their doubts about Ronny! Are we meant to take stoaters like that serious?

No wonder they post less and less apart from having nothing to girn about they're probably hoping people forget they've made total prats of themselves!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it is fair to harp back to early season, when the players didn't know Deila and what he wanted, and Deila didn't know his players and what they were and were not capable. Every month the team has improved beyond recognition . Last week and this week they were playing with the opposition. We were all told about the challenge Dundee would put up, but really it was very fragile . I think Newco and Dundee were made to look so poor, by the very capable performance by every part of the team . We are going places, good places .

Agree0 Disagree1

AH I really don't care about the figures and want us to win every trophy we are in but it's a lot more difficult than you and others seem to think. Only two celtic managers have won the treble. Beating Barca was one of the greatest nights at Celtic park for years there is no denying that and if you do then perhaps it is you who should sell your ticket for the Inter game.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Groutdoc WTF are you talking about (rofl) Look son you've had a moment and are prattling on about something you know zero about. Why would I sell my Inter tickets? It's Rayman that reckons the cl is the be all and end all and anything else is worthless. that's why I was asking if he was selling his or any cup final tickets.

Thankfully most supporters, the manager and the players don't think like rayman. They want to see the team win cups and I agree with them.

I can't believe I'm trying to convince Celtic fans that we should be winning cups.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2015 08:16:33
@GroutDoc. Yeah we where but we were also knocked out of all cup competitions. Deila needs to be given a break he and the team are improving all the time and are only going to get better and better. If the board continue to back him with quality signings then who knows what the teams limit could be. Hail Hail

I'm delighted that Ronny didn't share my view that Johansen had been a wee bit off form recently because he's been outstanding today!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I'm glad too bud. Thought he's actually been one of our better performers. People have been bangin on about Commons but for me, unless he scores, doesn't do a great deal else.

Thought today, based on the Rangers game Stokes was a passenger and should be dropped. Problem is atm Forrest is he only real candidate. That boy needs to learn to pass. And shoot. And get near his man.

Agree1 Disagree0

He started off quite poorly and then came into some excellent form but I felt he had went a wee bit quiet again recently but today he was brilliant from start to finish. He could be a key man for the Inter game.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will be. Think it'll be best we just play with 5 midfielders none of them necessarily wingers if that makes sense. As Inter will pack their midfield. My team for that tie, early I know but would be

Gordon

Lustig
Denayer
Virgil
Izzy

Bitton
Brown

Johansen
Armstrong
Wakaso

Griffiths

Been bangin on about Scepovic getting games but atm Griffiths deserves his run. Hopefully Wakaso fits straight back in. Might be a risk playing Armstrong but obviously that depends on if he fits in and gets game time before then. Commons to come off the bench. 2-0 on aggregate to the Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know how any fan could pick Armstrong for a big game . We haven't seen him play one minute for us yet . Similarly with Wakaso, he hasn't shown much in a Celtic Jersey . I would want to see both impress for Celtic before giving them a start in such an important game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kind of what I was getting at Chris. And I am any fan so sorry. Wakaso has been playing well at an International tournament, more than say Forrest has done. Armstrong has been playing better than any midfielder (bar brown and maybes Johansen) that we have. So, I think, by that virtue they should play. Again though, depends on how they settle in the team before then.

Agree0 Disagree0

JimJim . That's my exact point neither of the players have proved themselves in a Celtic top. If either or both do before the Inter game I would think they have a very strong claim . At the moment we don't know and we cannot use the match against Inter to experiment.

Now here's a thought for you. At the beginning of each game the team captains stand with the ref who tosses a coin to see who gets choice of ends, starting etc. is this not breaking the football association rules on gambling?

Believable0 Unbelievable7

No money is exchanged or win, so no it's not

Thanks laylex. It was tongue in cheek mate. Just a silly thought about cash being involved and two people gambling on the result of something which is involved in a football game. May even be considered an advantage by some.
