Derek McInnes is that girl you liked at school. "Would you go out with him if he asked you? " "He hasn't asked me. " "But would you? " "He'd have to ask me. " "But would you? " "Tell him to ask me. " "Will you go out with me? " "Naw. "

LOL HH.

See Roy Keane has lambasted Rodgers after he described the Anderlecht display as ' shocking ' . I don't take any pleasure in saying this but I don't recall similar comments after the Eire Denmark shambles. Loved him as a player but should never have been allowed to play for us and sit us on his mantlepiece. He wants to STFU ā˜˜.

Pat-Roy Keane is a fud who like you say should never have been allowed to play for us. A West Brit of the tallest order! ā˜˜ļø.

Agree1 Disagree2

07 Dec 2017 22:08:54
Wanted to like Keane but the way he slags us off is out of order. A former player that played in a Celtic team that was knocked out of the Scottish cup by Clyde should shut his gob.

Agree2 Disagree4

07 Dec 2017 22:16:33
I agree with what he said. Anderlecht coming to Parkhead and winning IS a disgrace. Europes best used to come to parkhead and leave empty handed, now we struggle against most European opposition at home.

Agree4 Disagree3

07 Dec 2017 22:19:58
So letā€™s slag Roy Keane cause he tells the truth, are you happy with our home performance against Anderlecht?
I thought we looked a very poor below average team, that everyone will want to draw us in the Europa league for an easy passage.

Keane was spot on.

08 Dec 2017 08:01:00
RK was below par as a manager in all jobs he has taken on-He will never be in a position to come anywhere near BR either as a man or as a manager. Its a pity he pulled on the Hoops as he was never fit to wear them. However, if its not him slagging us off it will be someone else-We need to ignore the hype and move onwards to the next game and hopefully a good draw in the EL. Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Dec 2017 08:22:11
Keane might not be a great manager, he never slagged us against Psg or Bayern, but was spot on about the Anderlecht game and so does out manager need to take some blame.

08 Dec 2017 09:16:17
Keane can talk nonsense sometimes, in fact more than some times, but I canā€™t disagree with what he said this time! that the other nite was woeful to put it mildly and was nowhere near good enough! And Iā€™m not buying this itā€™s because we knew all we had to do was not get beat heavily! Is that the attitude from our great club now! There was a massive chance to get some confidence going into the EL and finally give the fans who pay good money to watch that a victory at home! Also the bonus of another 1million or whatever it is for picking up 3 points! Keane was spot on! And if we donā€™t add one or 2 bits of quality in January weā€™ll be out the EL straight away!

Agree3 Disagree2

08 Dec 2017 09:20:07
We need to be able to accept criticism - especially in Europe - as although we are a huge club, streets ahead of our domestic opponents, we very rarely excel in European competition and our results really speak for themselves in recent years.
Some of us need to face facts and compare this team with others over the last 15 years in terms of results, performances, fight, bottle and ability and we have definitely went backwards.
It's not all about finances as we have always been way behind most of Europe in terms of budget and quality of players; it's more about not learning lessons and players failing to do the basics or freezing on the night and letting themselves and the club down.

Agree3 Disagree1

08 Dec 2017 10:23:40
Great point in there OAB. see this pish like PSG have somehow took football to another level and these teams are better than weā€™ve ever seen itā€™s absolute bollocks! I remember us taking on and getting results against huge teams with Caldwell McManus and naylor in the defence! Kaka Ronaldo giggs and more came and knew they theyā€™d been in a game! Thereā€™s 3 players who I named in our defence who cost very little if anything! So please spare me the we canā€™t compete against these players nonsense because itā€™s been proved we have! And what was served up the other nite was weak uninspiring and toothless! Sutton made a great point after the game the other nite, our players rite now are scared at this level and donā€™t actually have the belief that they should be there!

Agree5 Disagree1

08 Dec 2017 12:28:26
Bhoys I'm on agreement that we were rotten against Anderlecht. my point was that ye never heard Keane lambast MON or hold his hands up when Eire shipped 5 against Denmark. pot and kettle springs to mind.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Dec 2017 13:23:14
I agree with Keane generally but have to acknowledge they have spent more money on better players as their budget is way above ours.
If after the next two windows we are still losing to second true euro teams at home, then will be the time to suggest they aren't cutting it.

Keep the heid, we will improve the squad. The board don't want embarrassed either and will sanction investment.

did he speak for free or was he paid to talk?

if he said nothing controversial, I would be surprised.

Hey Look - we are all talking about it - Job Done, Kerchink.

Roy, what do you think of Harry Kane? - He's Overrated (Kerching)
Roy, what do you think of the current Man U team and Manager? - Just not good enough (kerching)

To be honest i think we need to spend in January, think the squad is lacking depth in a lot of areas, the centre defence problem is critical and must be dealt with. A versatile centre back who plays LB aswel would be ideal. Think we need a player to challenge Sinclair on the left wing, with Roberts being out for a further few months does anyone think we are going to dive in and make a solid bid for another RW player? I really hope Eboue lives up to his potential as the CDM position will need filled one day, think he needs to put a bit of muscle on to command that area of the pitch. What is everyone else's thoughts on the matter of transfers?

Think a decent cb is needed and if paddy is out to Feb maybe a winger unless young Johnstone us given a chance. but if you look at who we could draw in Europa it's quite scary so maybe they'll pull a bit of quality from somewhere to give us a wee lift.

I think we need to freshen things up ahead of a busy summer with the WC and potential players being missing for the CL qualifiers. Would like a solid CB and possibly get in Broonie's long term successor.

Had a couple days to digest Tuesdayā€™s result and performance. We were abysmal on Tuesday, yes we done the job in the away fixture vs Anderlecht but it was a chance for us to get a home victory and finish the group on a high but we failed to show up and turned out an embarrassing performance in Europe yet again.
Why did Rodgers abandon his philosophy of playing attacking football against Anderlecht at home but wanted to go toe to toe with PSG away? Itā€™s impossible to understand.

We have been transformed domestically but under BR we have been very poor in Europe however I recognise we have been up against some great teams in Man City, Bayern, PSG, Barcelona etc. But we used to be so much more competitive especially at home.

The big question for me is simply why did we not improve our squad in the transfer market? We went into this new CL campaign with Jonny Hayes, Kundai Benyu and Odsonne Edouard. Ntcham is the only signing that is of value at that level. I really hope we go all out in this January window and give new players (RB, CB and Winger hopefully) time to settle in before CL qualifiers in summer.

BR still has a big task on his hands!

He scored a hatrick for the France u21's But that is all he has done this season. His stock has dropped considerably, even though he is still a 21 yr old, those who think PSG or Barcelona will be knocking at the door are deluded, mid table epl or maybe Monaco or Celta Vigo will come for him,20 million, take their hands off and give him a hug. That money if spent on players will get us a good squad and Lawell will be happy that the CL and maybe Van Dyke money stays in the bank.

Anyone else think big Boyata gets more stick than he deserves. Thought during the Anderlecht game big Sutton was quick to crucify him as soon as anything went wrong. At one point Armstrong walks away from a pass facing the wrong direction and it seemed to be the big mans fault.

Genuinely think he looks solid a lot more often than not and probably our best centre half. Jozo has looked more suspect in my opinion.

Would like to see Ajer get more of a chance thought he looked class on Saturday.

I agree with you about Boyata but not Ajer just yet remember his performance in norway.

It was his performance against Astanta away that was the bad one jonace and TBF throwing the young lad into a game like that alongside Bitton was totally unfair on the young boy.

Fair point mate. Just thought looking at Ajer on Saturday heā€™s definitely filled out. Was charging through the midfield for fun and can clearly pick a pass. Think he needs bled in to the first team before itā€™s too late.

Let us be clear apart from the away game at Anderlect we have not been good enough in the CL Lusnig has been consistently caught out by pace the defense has lost players for crosses and when they opposition run through them they fail to track back. The midfield have not been competitive or creative and the forwards have not scored the goals
If you go back a in recent time and look at the successful games we played in Europe we had certain people in certain places that contributed to that success
Pace in defense an absolute priority remember Wilson
Another central midfield combatant for Brown remember Lambert and Lennon
I believe given time Ntcham can provide the creativity
Sinclair is having a bad time but i think he can come good again and with the other forwards given more of the ball and more chances can score the goals we need
Hayes has a lot of experience and perhaps a run on his natural left wing with Tierney behind him, something he hasn't had in any games he has played could see the player he thought we had bought.
The real problem is RB Ralston is still very raw and young. I would like to see Gamboa given a real chance in a back 5 he has pace to burn and it is a system BR likes to turn to when things are not working maybe he should start with this.

Let us be clear we qualified to Europe after xmas, everyone would have snapped their hand off for that after the draw.
Do u think anyone would care if we played bad and won the CL?
We are out their to achieve our target and it was done.
Your credibility was ok till u mentioned wanting Gamboa in the team lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Dec 2017 17:14:14
Gamboa will be gone in Jan, so will Armstrong, we will have 2 in from WBA, Allan Nyon and James mcClean, not like for like but nearly. These will be good recruits, mcClean will be a good replacement for PR who will not be bought and will not play for Celtic again, and Nyon will replace Lustig. .

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2017 01:30:53
Malika you sound pretty sure about those 2 you have it on good source?

I think a 4-3-3 of Ntcham Kouassi with Broony being the deeper of the 3 could work in Europe especially if we're playing away. All 3 get stuck in and Ntcham and Kouassi and start of the attacks. In dire need of a defensive overhaul. I wouldn't be too bothered with Simunovic and Sviatchenko both leaving and getting one or 2 quality one's in that isn't too injury prone. Need a quality GK too but both have signed deals so that isn't going to happen.

If I'm correct I believe the teams we could possibly face in the EL last 32 are.
Sporting
Athletico
Leipzig
CSKA
Villarreal
Kiev
Braga
Zenit
Lazio
Ostersunds
Salzburg
Arsenal
Steaua
Milan
Atalanta
Sherrif Tiraspol

Who would people want to draw? Glamour or easier draw? I wouldn't mind Tiraspol, Steaua or Ostersunds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Dec 2017 08:23:48
Surely some of them arenā€™t seeded braveheart?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's an open draw where the seeded teams play the unseeded and the only stipulations are that teams from the same EL group or the same FA cannot be drawn against each other.
Dortmund are also unseeded so we can't get them, so far we can get AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, CSKA Moscow, Lazio, RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon or Villareal.
Celtic, Dortmund, Napoli, Nice and Spartak Moscow are all the unseeded teams so far with Atalanta, Braga, Dynamo Kyiv, Lazio, Lyon, Ostersund, Partizan Belgrade, Real Sociedad, Steaua București, Viktoria Plzen and Zenit Saint Petersburg still to have their seeding decided.}

07 Dec 2017 09:04:59
Bloody cert weā€™ll get the hardest team in the draw ED lol. wouldn't mind a few of the teams uve listed at the bottom but!
