The Wee Hoops won 3-0 against Marseilles. Well done lads a great display and some excellent performances from young lads with huge potential. It looks like there are 3 or 4 with potential as regulars for the first team in the next few years. It really was great to watch.

How much roughly will both clubs lose ed for not getting through ?

Lenny {Ed007's Note - Here is a breakdown of CL earnings last year, Man Utd made more than Barcelona did. It's hard to predict what their losses will be though but this should give you some idea:

Your always the man for the facts mr bond. Reading that then you see what they make then you think of the spl.... Says it all really

Good afternoon Ed, hope your leg is healing better, myself I go into hospital in February for next operation so I am planning to have a good Christmas and New Year with friends and family, got to make the most of these times when we can.
Anyway, to my point, has anyone noticed how the new Hibs manager is uncannily like Martin O'Neil they could be twins. Let us hope he can inspire Hibs to victory on Saturday. hail hail Neil T {Ed007's Note - Thanks Neil, I'm due an op in March mate all being well. Good luck and take care.}

Dashing through the snow,
the taxman's on his way.
The bailiffs are in tow,
the debt won't go away (HA HA HA).
Fat Sally's off to Greggs,
to stuff his face with pies,
Whyte's appearing up in court,
feeding them more lies.

Oh jingle bells, jingle bells,
the Shame are going down.
Laugherty is down The Scheme,
chasing up some brown.

Oh jingle bells, jingle bells,
the Shame have got to pay.
You'd better start running now,
coz the taxman's on his way!

Just a suggestion ed, i think celtlc should go for rory donnelly of cliftonville hes been banging them in for fun in the irish league, scored 19 goals so far this season looks a real prospect and hes stilll only a pup. a punt worth taking at 100k, get him on the books lennon this kid is going to have a bright future

Believable6 Unbelievable1

If it were me I wouldn't touch him.......Irish League football is much lower than SPL. There was another kid at Cliftonville last year called Liam Boyce who was banging goals in with similar speed. Got hooked up with Werder Bremen, never kicked a ball for them in anger and just couldn't cut it at the higher grade. This kid Donnelly shows a bit of potential but a lot of his goals are scrappy and scored in a poor league. He'd only get a fraction of those chances in the SPL and even then I'd doubt his ability to take them.

just a note on the whole cheating thing ...... lol i love how up in arms everyone gets hen omeone dives ....... every single player in the history of the game has cheated, and every pro in the game will continue to cheat ..... even if every poster on this site wer pro they would cheat also ...... Ill gve you a scenario ..... ur playing a game and one of your players or you (either or) hits a shot ... the ball hits the bar and clearly does not cross the line but the ref gives a goal .... you clearly know that it didnt cross the line .... would u turn to the ref ad sa "nah buddy thts not a goal i dont want it ......" course u wouldnt .... Aluko knows he conned the ref there was contact (a hand on the shoulder) but never anything like enough to bring him down so in that instant the opposition (and every one else say he cheated) the team that the player does it for says "they conned the ref". But do you expect him to say na ref he never touched me i just fell ..... to my knowledge only one player has ever done that and it was Robbie Fowler when his team were already 3 up he dived but then instantly got up and told the ref he never touched him.

ps on another note ed seen u said that Loovens aint that bad!? lol Ill give u Masto playing a bit better (til his next blunder) but Loovens is never celtic class ... the SPL may be hi level but the old firm defo not as a gers man i know he aint good enough to wear a hooped shirt !

Germinator {Ed007's Note - I said he is half decent Germ, he can do a job against smaller teams in the SPL and as a back up defender when Wilson etc are fit.}

hi ed is majstronovic about to get a new contract a mate was adamant he is? surely not? he has been ok last few games but his bottle crashes with a few mistakes, i hope lenny aint making another samaras mistake {Ed007's Note - NL has said he will talk to Majstorovic in January. It was the board that offered Samaras a new contract with a view to selling him.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are you sure it isnt the board that will be offering majstorovic a new contract it seems lennon dosnt have a say in contract extensions ed? {Ed007's Note - Manager's very rarely have much to do with contract negotiations in the modern game.}

I saw a rumour on here the other day and it got me thinking (and even being sad enough to go back and watch the footage of some of the last 5 games). It was mentioned that Loovens, Dan and Sammy had been doing great.

Well i'm not the biggest fan of any of those 3. However we (the majority of Celtic fans) do give it tight to those 3 particular players especially when thing aren't going so well but lets all be honest here if we're big enough to give it out then we should also be big enough to stand up and say these 3 guys have done a great job for us recently. They have been a focal point of our mini revival and they do deserve a good bit of credit. (i'm not saying they're world beaters or deserve bumper contracts but with a fairly settled team of late they have been much better than average). If nothing else they have shown passion and commitment to our team so maybe for a change we should give these guys a bit of support and get behind them for the rest of the season and not jump on their backs with the first mistake they make.

Similarly - Scott Brown - let's think about him - not been great for a 4.4 million pound player but has he been any worse than the rest.

Did we miss him during his spell out injured - YES. Could he have made millions by walking away to the premiership - YES. Could we do well to have 11 players with his commitment every week - YES.

After the stick that guys had from all quarters and the fact he has committed his future to us as the captain of our team and that players are coming out and saying how glad they are that Mr Celtic ( Adam Matthews on SSN) is staying. Well that says enough for me. I'd have Broony as my captain in a battle any day

I for one will be supporting these guys 100% from now until the end of the season (at least). I think we'd be far better off if more people thought the same

Gary {Ed007's Note - I've openly been one of Majstorovic biggest critics, he has looked more assured recently I will admit that, and I have always backed Scott Brown. Loovens is half decent, that is his level and he is still quite shaky at times. Samaras has looked a bit more up for it but it will take a lot for me to change my mind about him.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fair point ED, I do actually feel the same but i do also think there are guys in our team who under perform regularly (did until recently)and they don't get half as much stick as those players (Ki - decent at best with a few nice touches / passes. Ledley - again decent but not outstanding, often anonymous- i like him but he doesn't offer more than Brown. Even dare i say it Forrest, Stokes and Hooper - hot and cold- thankfully right now hot for all 3. Even our top players like Kayal and even Izaguirre (in quite a few games last year - noteably Inverness) let us down badly but there's never the level of criticism aimed at those guys. I honestly think if we get behind Dan, Loovens and Sammy they could play a massive part in what i think could end up being a far more successful season than we anticipated. The last month or so doesn't prove "we're back" or "gonna win the league" but it does show that with the right attitude and support some of the so called "diddy" players could do a job and do us all proud

Here's hoping anyway

Gary {Ed007's Note - It's up to the player's to grab their chance when it comes along. My mate is adamant that Samaras should be played through the middle supporting one up front at times. Where he gets it from I've no idea but he has said it for a while.}

Agree0 Disagree1

He may have a point but i guess that depends on Samaras' mood on the day eh. It looks like we're on course for getting our injured players back in the next couple of weeks. Here's looking forward to building on last month and giving us all a Merry Xmas ( PS my mate at work showed me a photo he took of Izaguirre at George Square at the weekend. He said he asked him when he would be back playing ....... his response ....... he's been on full training for the past fortnight and ready to go. Bring on the festive period Ed . I've got a good feeling (and no i don't mean because of the beer haha)

Gary {Ed007's Note - It should be an interesting time Gary.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think sammy should play on the left wing, he seems to actually work harder and use his attributes when he gets put upfront I think he seems lost, but on the wing he has to get involved all the time which I think is helping him, he wouldn't be the first striker to be bought and changed to a winged I.e dirk kuyt. He offers more as a winger than a non scoring striker.
