There was a very interesting article/interview with WGS and the sum and substance of it was as follows;

his scotland team HAVE improved

WGS performed a U TURN relative to his initial aspirations/plans in terms of team selection, systems etc

He suggested that when he saw the players up close and looked at their talents and what could be developed he quirky surmised that he did not have the players for his initial (ideal) set-up and had no option (in a results driven business) to look at alternatives that would bring out the best in the squad

When all was said and done not only did he eventually find a system he never (originally) contemplated but the players enjoy it, have thrived, have improved and are looking like a half decent team

The point is that U turns are allowed and you don't now where they may lead; every day is a learning day and RD should not (at any/all cost) put all of his eggs in his preferred system

Lots of systems can (and do) encourage speed, pressing, good possession, mobile midfielders, wing backs and out and out wingers and one up front becoming two (under the right game circumstances)

I would be horrified to think that better players will be sitting on the sidelines with the club and fans suffering from the consequences of playing players to fit a system as opposed to finding a system to suit the players and building from there .

by all means let's see the systems; and let us explore but RD needed more than one string to his bow

WGS may just be a good friend for RD right now

Folks
Dunno about the rest of you but I'm a big boxing fan.
Carl Frampton is fighting tonight in Belfast for the world title. He's per fighter.
Does anyone know any online sites that will stream the fight?

Apparently Guidetti will be wearing the 9 jersey.

Being a numbers kinda guy I find it strange Scepovic chose 12 when 9 was free.

Last point, maybe ed can help out in this, is the 7 jersey made available? Seems to me that it's saved for "special" players, Zurawski excluded of course ;)

And Miku lol

I believe Guidetti already picked the no9 before the Serbs u turn and the club was always confident of completing the loan for Guidetti

The only numbers that I am interested is the number of goals each score over a season .

Just looking at the poll of the day, I like the Scotland games and don't mind the International games particulary when Scotland are still in the competition - usually at the beginning of the competition lol

I know its something that divides opinion though and can't say i'm overly keen on the friendly internationals.

Sometimes when you draw 1-1 with Dundee, the breaks are welcome though!

Same. It depends on what games are being played etc. I went for 0-0 tomorrow night, let's see how long that lasts haha

So Berget is claiming that the arrival of Scepovic and Guidetti, and the competition for places that comes with it, will bring out the best in him.
What a shame he didn't see Champions League football and/or making a good start in the SPFL as good enough incentives to bring out the best in him!

Garry's just looked at his 20 goals in 23 games playing for Feynoord in the 2011 season. Mind you 6 were penalties but he did take them well. He looks a real handful, very strong and on the end if everything. No doubt his game will be suited to the SPL. He won't be complaining about no time on the ball etc. here is the worry. Have not seen the Serbian guy play but let's assume he is decent. RD should look to change his system and I can't see him doing that. RD had options now and now he has to deliver. If the Serb is as good as Guilletti seems to be we have a great opportunity to move forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

I will offer him no praise until he begins to perform for us. He has a bit of a stop/start history for one so young, and his exploits for Feyenoord were some time ago.

It seems the sfa administration side of things caused this, if so once again the leading bodies of Scottish football hinder the progress of one of their teams.
