Eddy tests positive for C.V.

I just posted that on the rumours page stengo God knows what will happen now.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 23:01:13
I am totally mystified by how this spreads and appears randomly in people who are apparently drilled in safe practices and are in controlled and monitored work-places?
It is the strangest and most frightening phenomenon I've ever seen.
Then there is the mortality rate among our older and vulnerable friends and relatives, while various mature celebrities fully recover.

Agree4 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 23:56:43
Is that a false positive or a positive positive Stengo? He"ll be negative tomorrow and positive again on Thursday 🤣🤣.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 23:59:00
Out for the Rangers game then?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 02:47:31
When it happened to the Aberdeen players,
The players who were positive quarantined for 10 days,
And the rest had to quarantine for 14 days.
If that’s the case Eddy would be available from the Friday,
But having no preparation or training up until the day before the game,
Virtually rules him out anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 03:51:01
It's because it's the flu.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 07:27:23
An on form eddy you would have to say would have been a must start against that mob even with 10 days no training but his form probably makes that a no no.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 07:53:52
Why is international football allowed in the current situation. Madness.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 07:58:15
It probably could explain the dip in form. If that's the case looks like the virus is working on you long before you test positive. Frightening, very frightening indeed.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 08:04:46
I'm not in the medical profession nor do I know much about the logistics of the virus, but listening to Wee Nippy and Doris and The Muppets possibly a circuit breaker of a couple of weeks could be the answer. Forget about rights and forget about what we are - total lockdown and everyone MUST wear a mask for those 14 days and if that doesn't work then God help us.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 08:20:01
He is a person at the end of the day first and foremost i hope he doent have it and its a false positive but if not hope he better soon.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 09:19:47
JFP1888 I agree with you regarding international football asking players to travel the globe with the alarming increase of the virus everywhere, It doesn’t make sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 09:24:29
If people think about this, a professional footballer is a rare profession . Probably only around 3000 people in Britain out of 60 million are pro footballers which works out at something like 0.00005% of the population. Now I reckon there have been around 50 players had positive tests. That is around 2% of pro footballers have had a positive test.
If you put that ratio into the 60 million people in Britain 1.2 million of us would return a positive test if tested. Puts things into perspective🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 10:17:00
Agree with you JFP1888, I’d cancel all these international games, let the clubs keep tight control over their football bubble. Then again maybe that’s because I’m sick watching dross Scotland performances aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 10:24:56
Britbhoy your a moron this isn't a flu this is easily more transmitable and more deadly than the flu. Do you not look at mortality rates and ages it affects it doesn't just kill old people it can kill anyone. So before you start talking rubbish do your checks first I know of atleast 2 people in my work who have this both are under 49 and both are in a bad way. So try some fact checking first.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 11:05:02
Yes, we need to realise how serious this is. I work in a hospital just outside Glasgow and 47 people died in one ward alone during the first spike, let that sink in. And symptomatic people who are surviving can have long standing challengees and disabilities. Best to not think it’s just a flu.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 11:09:23
Marco maybe you should do some research on the normal mortality rates in the UK in the past 10 years. Have a look at 2017-18 especially.
Because the figures weren't thrown in your face like they are now by the MSM people are oblivious of those stats.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 14:54:07
Do the guys who want to cancel international football include club European competitions in that?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2020 15:23:17
The long C.V. might turn out to be more frightening than the short severe one.

06 Oct 2020 20:21:17
My friends Enrico is very happy and impressed with the window we have had.

It pushes in good position for 10 in a row.

All the players who have been brought in are great standard.

We must now dismantle the rangers and kick on from there.

Very happy my friends very happy 💚.

Totally agree; When all's said and done CN and the rest of the turn coats on SLY never have anything positive - even during our most successful spell for decades - to say about their ex-employer and apparent 'boyhood club' and worse still they never say Sevco ha ha.

Celtic have a league cup game in between Away to Prague and Away to Milan.
That could be 5 away games in a row.
Celtic have be used to playing away from home this calendar year because we have already played 14 domestic away games and only 8 domestic home matches.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 20:31:43
Wow stevie . if we come out of that run feeling good about ourselves at home and abroad, I'd say we are nailed on for 10iar

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Oct 2020 16:13:29
With James Forrest out for 4-6 weeks and Mikey Johnston a distant memory, we are limited to overlapping full-backs for wing-play.
Most of our play goes side to side and through the middle and after The Atsu rumours evaporated, I would have liked another option?

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 19:01:24
100% CM we are badly lacking in that department shocking this is the case.

Shouldn’t have let Sinclair go another coup by Lennon .

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 20:08:15
Here's a thought in the short term at least play Eddie or Griff wide on the left with the other one up front with Ajeti not ideal but could solve a problem till Forrest and or Mikey are fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 23:58:36
Or play the 352 and don't worry about wingers?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 12:53:18
Ed I don't post often but have been reading the site for years and you do a great job running it big chap. I was shocked you don't get paid for this and I know you knocked back a gift from me before but surley there's enough folk on here who could afford 10 or 20 quid a month to get you some cash for you and your family for all the work you do. does donations through the paypal on the site go to you.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much, Frankie, that's really appreciated buddy but I couldn't expect - or ask - people to do that. Folk have got enough on their plate with the virus etc and Christmas is just round the corner.
The Paypal donations go to Ed001 & Ed033 to help cover the site fees (unfortunately all the sites make buttons through advertising) but if someone papped in a million I'm sure I'd get my share 😁

06 Oct 2020 16:17:08

Now that the transfer window has closed it's all down to the management and players to deliver the 10. We probably didn't get our prime targets but we have enough to be the strongest team in the league and get us over the line.

Next summer will probably see us cashing in on those who carried us through to the ten - Christie, McGregor, Forrest, Griffiths, Edouard, Rogic and Bitton. Brown will have all but retired and they'll go with the supporters best wishes and with the achievement of being history makers.

Then it'll be the time for the likes of Soro, Klimala, Ajeti, Turnbull and Barkas to take over and keep the run going. Scott Robertson will be back and with the pressure of getting the 10 off the shoulders there may be more opportunities for those breaking through from the Development Squad.

We're in a far stronger position, squad wise, than Sevco and it's only ourselves who can stop us being history makers.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

06 Oct 2020 12:26:08
The only thing I was concerned about was the attitude of players that were apparently set on leaving and are still here. However, as professionals under contract, they should do the right thing and if by any chance they don't perform as they should - we have cover in every position and more to replace them with until January.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 13:15:53
Celtic mad, bad attitude with fans absent could linger . ie fans present drive good attitude

This is where lack of fans could hurt us as half hearted less committed players bumble along.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 13:32:14
Think the January window is going to be massive for both teams. Not in terms of quantity, but in terms of having to do what has to be done to either get us over the line if we're still not firing on all cylinders, or Sevco to stop us from doing so.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 20:23:30
I think now we have a proper lb/ lwb providing he plays to his strengths then this team should lift title 10.unless lennons tactics get in the way that is.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 11:27:01
I think this team has a really good flavour to it now, definitely doesn’t Laxalt.

ED one for you.
Can DIEGO LAXALT play against Milan how does that work. ?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's Milan's decision and it looks like they have agreed to let him play, remember Paddy Roberts was allowed to play against Man City as well. There's no UEFA rules that cover it so it is down to the parent club.}

06 Oct 2020 11:24:26
Just had that feeling Celtic fans get. Like being really happy, then say WAIT A MINUTE, can he even play in Europe 😂😂 thanks ed.

Time for the squad to settle down and earn there pay. the ones that want away are here till next June so deal with it and the only way they'll get the move is by performing. so it's a win win for us. let's get a settled 11 that's the key to success.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Oct 2020 13:16:57

06 Oct 2020 10:45:02
Not to bad a window.
Imo
Good signing last night.
Is the new lad up and ready to go I hope so we have no time left to break people in.
Laxalt ( straight in )
Burkas ( straight in )
Moi. ( Straight in )
Ajeti ( just about )
Duffy ( straight in )
Turnbull ( just about )
Klamilla. (strait in imo)

Goodness how do we pick the team. That's nearly a full team Lenny has brought in so all in all a gd window.
January worried me a little as if we are doing well maybe a few Wil be off but summer defiantly summer it will be Al about profit so I see a few big sales.
I want Griff and klamilla up front eddy and ajeti subs fight for position.
Just a we side note that Charlie Nicolas again criticising Celtic it been one of our better windows. It's like his bitterness rips right out of him. ( Celtic need to take him to task )

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Oct 2020 11:17:42
There are a lot of players in the first team squad and who won't be playing a lot so it's all down to NL to keep them happy. Rather him than me tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 11:28:44
Good luck with that Lenny.
Ye he has his work cut out.
Let's see how it pans out. Most of our players are playing for there country fingers crossed no injuries 😣 and raring to go against the team who have win nothing in 9 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 11:32:27
Work cut out? It should make the job easier. Having a competetive squad is a manager's dream. If he can't field a strong, motivated XI every game that's his problem.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 12:13:52
How does it make the job easier?, how do you keep talented players happy and motivated, when they are not involved in the first team every week, I think it makes a managers job a lot harder .

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 12:38:36
So it was best for the manager we sign nobody Aindoh aye? Keep trying.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 12:59:17
I agree with Aindoh on this. If we had players who were unhappy before the window, how will he keep them happy now that we have extra players in every position. It’s a very good problem to have but if we bring in 7 new players of which 5 go straight into the 1st team (which is what we have been crying out for) it would be difficult for a good “man manager” to deal with never mind Lennon.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 13:16:42
It makes it harder imo as the restlessness of our key players is shocking they know what is at stake yet they can't cope Celtic improved them made them current they are now getting noticed over the world.
But now there is competition we will soon see how bad they want there big buck moves it's up to them now.
Lenny has juggling to do to keep them all happy big personalities in there. Do if they bring there A game they will get big money moves in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 13:18:51
Aindoh, you have that wrong . I sorta know what you mean, but decent squad with people biting at other's heels is a good thing in the round.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 18:02:07
You keep players happy and motivated by ensuring that it's performances (both on the pitch and in training) that get you a game, or keep you in the side. If NL puts the best team available on the park then we should be successful domestically. On paper we have the best squad by a mile. It's down to NL to orchestrate things. If players are unfairly being left out then that's down to one man. Bit come the end of the season, if we've won the league, and maybe a cup, and players aren't happy - yet haven't performed or deservedly worked their way into the side - then who really gives a f*ck?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2020 10:44:05
Well that is the window closed until January, we kept French Eddie and all our top players and signed some decent players, I am looking forward to Turnbull getting lots of games and if the new Uruguayan settles in he will solve a problem position. I am also looking forward to seeing Ajetti and Klimala get more game time as both add something to the team.
As for French Eddy I am not too worried yet about his form, he never really got a proper pre season then picked up niggling injuries which he carried into games and then travelled thousands of miles with the French U21 team, I expect him to now kick on, he has never been a problem player and I do not expect him to cause any problems in team.

Ed, don't want to get you up too early after yesterday, but one of your posts had me thinking.
What is the full low down on young Dembelle? You said it looks like he is leaving at the end of the season when his contract is up. I just wanted to know if we are letting that happen, has his head been turned or has he dropped off and is not fulfilling expectations?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Neil Lennon promised Dembele privately and in public that he would get game time this season but he isn't even getting near the bench even with 9 subs allolwed on there and his advisers feel he is not going to develop under the present coaching set-up so he will look elsewhere. Celtic would like him to extend his deal but that look unlikely unless something changes in the coming months.
Whether it is down to that or money we'll find out when he decides where to go.}

06 Oct 2020 10:04:09
Youth midfielder, Paul Kennedy, who is in the Development Squad has signed a one year contract extension taking him up to the end of this current season.

Meanwhile, there's a whole raft of Academy players making a move up to the Development Squad. Joe Morrison (goalkeeper, Matthew Anderson, Ben McPherson and Dylan Corr (defenders) , MacKenzie Carse, Joe Murphy, Bruno Davidson and Ts'oanelo Lets'osa (midfielders) and Adam Montgomery and Adam Brooks (forwards) .

The most interesting of the above is potent Under 16 central midfielder Lets'osa. It was Kolo Toure who noticed his potential and informed Brendan Rodgers to try and get him down to Leicester, but the teenager stayed put and signed professional terms instead for Celtic. If his progress is anything to go by this boy may be chapping on the first team door shortly.

I was looking at the Celtic midfield and the substitute bench for the Derby game on the 17th.
The bench will consist of a goalkeeper,3 defenders,3 midfielders and 2 forwards.
I don’t think Forrest will make the game.
Celtic have 8 midfielders to fill only 3 positions and another 3 will make the bench.
That will also mean 2 midfielders will be sitting in the stand.
I reckon Brown, McGregor and Christie will start if they are all fit to play.
I don’t think Soro will make the 20 man squad.
That leaves 3 places on the bench between Turnbull, Ntcham, Elyounoussi and Rogic.
The other substitutions will be Bain, Elhamed ( I hope Bitton will play ) Jullian and Taylor.
Griffiths and Klimala make up the 9 subs.

Dont think the tin man will be that much of a loss against themm he lacks the heart for these kind of games.

Hopefully if edouard does start he gives a much better performance than his last couple of league games. I would actually be tempted to start griff. don't know why but i've got this feeling that rogic might start but its difficult to second guess lennon thia season.

Hi Buzz, good post. Turnbull for me must get one of those positions. Logically, Moi will also get one, so it could be down to sicknote and uninterested for the final spot.

well guys at last the windae is shut. how do we look now?
we held on to all our big stars.
we added some new blood and class.
i think it has been one of our best windows in recent history.
we now need neil to get his system sorted and we should push on to 10.
bring on the sevies and let's put them back in to their box, yet again.
hail hail.

I hope your keeping well Rob Mate. 👍
It’s looking good and history is in our own hands.
The board deserve credit for giving us the squad we have.
The players need to kick on now starting with a Derby victory.
Celtic have been known as the Invincibles and then we were Relentless,
And I’m certain Celtic can finish them off by being,
Irresistible 10 In A Row Champions. 🍀.
