So showpiece game of the season at hampden against them.
I will bet all of timalloys pennies that we are the 2nd game on the sunday, . Why is this it seems every semi we play we are the 2nd team to play when the pitch is at its worst.
Any reasonable explanation for this anyone, ED?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

06 Mar 2016 22:30:56
Because if we don't play them on the Sunday then all hell will break loose in Glasgow on Saturday, it's been that way for some time. The pitch will be the same for both teams rayman.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 22:32:25
Was thinking the same thing maself. Is there any chance the other game will be played elsewhere, don't think hampden could handle 2 games in 2 days. It wouldn't look good for our game to have the national pitch in a state on tv.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 22:47:51
Kev I know what your saying but the whole world will be watching and yet again we will be playing on a shiiit pitch. Its embarrassing mate. How he hell do we promote our game when we continually shoot ourselves in the foot.

Better be Sunday am getting married on the Saturday. Bad enough I've said I'll meet her at the airport on the Tuesday for the honeymoon can't push missing the big day. Lol.

come on guys keep it up with the early excuses and paranoia. you got 6 weeks to come up with a plausible reason.
You have good players but the truth is your management team are crap.
RD reminds me of Kid playing monopoly jousts buys anything, oh forgot its PL who decides who to buy and who plays.

07 Mar 2016 09:29:16
Early exuses and paranoia! Listen this clown! U would think u had beat Barcelona on Saturday the way yous are going on! Is it just me or are we not Scotland's champions who are going for 5 in a row and have just drawn a team from Scotland's 2nd tier? Or am I just imagining this? Let them carry on with there deluded fantasy about theyr going to do this and do that! It will be all the sweeter when we walk all over the top of them just like the last time! Don't be fooled into believing the hype that the scottish media give these clowns! Theyr a team from the 2nd tier who struggle against plumbers and joiners!

To be fair to Ibrox, he knows what he's talking about re excuses. He's had nearly five years to perfect them.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 11:45:34
Sevco and their friends in the press and media are so good at spinning things, that if we pump them 5-0 (which we should) , they'll probably make out that it was a heroic effort from their boys in blue, and that Celtic will be there for the taking once their heroes get into the top flight next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 12:40:10
Exactly Gerry! When we win, and we will win. it will be all the old usual pish exuses from the sevconians! Let's just let them get on with living in dream land! They've Been asking for this game for a while now, let's see if they feel the same after the game! And if giving these 2 Bob tinkers a good hiding doesn't give our players and management the boot up the arse they need then nothing will! We're better than these 2nd raters in every area of the field, now let's go out and f**kn prove it!

07 Mar 2016 15:03:35
Gerry we won't be allowed to pump them by 5, It will be like the last time when the polis came into our dressing room at half time telling us no more than 2 or there could be an upsurge in domestic violence tonight.

Ronny must be delighted! This could be the big game that gets some passion stirring. Giving them a doing could maybe enthuse some of the fans and create a bit of feel good.

I think a loss will probably put the final nail in Ronnie's coffin.

Hope the pitch is better than last time which was an embarrassment for the whole country.

Agree1 Disagree2

06 Mar 2016 20:34:27
Don't know how anyone can disagree with that. The pitch at Hampden for our game with them last year was a tattie field. I sat watching it on TV with my English brother in law who kept going on about it in comparison to Wembley and I had to agree it was a total disgrace for a national stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Isn't the Hampden pitch getting relaid? You're spot on about it being a disgrace that it's our national stadium.}

06 Mar 2016 20:45:56
Aye it is getting relaid for the League Cup final, so hopefully it does not cut up the way it did last year because it was a disgrace.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wonder what FEM Warbiola will make of it.}

06 Mar 2016 22:38:08
Whatever he thinks will be hailed as "absolutely, 100%, bona fide, correct"

Whereas, if our manager said it then it would be a different story.

TPP that won't change anything other than who gets which dressing room

Surprised Ed, That a few of the panty wetters not surfaced yet must be running down to the supermarket before they shut!

Before the RD debacle starts its the players that will carry the fight that day! Player for player I would not swap one of them for one of ours!

They owe US a performance get it rammed into them it's them that will be accountable! (y)

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - There's not one single player would get in our squad. Scott Allan would have been starting every week and their new idol if he had went there.}

06 Mar 2016 17:33:00
That's right Ed and he chose us! (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It was the most sensible thing he's ever done.}

06 Mar 2016 17:45:53
There's surely enough Scottish based players in the squad who will let anyone that's not aware that anything other than a convincing victory will not be acceptable. They are a team of journeymen who have been playing their football in Scotlands 2nd tier. If our attitude is right we"ll win convincingly

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 17:38:06
Exactly Ed.

If the players keep up todays first half form, we will wipe the floor with them. Just hope that the police don't come in and tell us to keep the score down this time.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - If Hibs beat Utd we could end up winning this cup without playing a top team.}

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Mar 2016 20:27:45
If we don't win this game and the players put on a performance similar to recent games then it's the players who should go before RD. They should not need any geeing up for this one.

06 Mar 2016 15:03:46
Well done peter lawell he picked the right team today and had them fired up from the start . If we win the double do you think peter will get manager of the year?

Believable3 Unbelievable13

06 Mar 2016 14:31:00
Hopefully a needed shot in the arm today
Said on live chat that I reckon Roberts will be huge sensation l, realise it's early to say that but basing it on rave reviews from couple of guys I know down here in the FA academy set up who are amazed that Celtic have managed to pull off such a coup. Time will tell I suppose but he does look tidy.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 14:29:25
Now were told below that Lawell picks the team, or if you believe some ex-players whose income is based on what they say in the newspapers, we need a new manager. Managers can be looked at end of season as no one is irreplaceable. However, we cannot afford some of the names quoted and we appear to want managers who have not succeeded. Hat's off to Rangers ex-players as they have pride and don't slag the manager. These ex-players, we know who they are, should take the lead from the Lions who conduct themselves proudly. Support the team so Confidence is built - tell these ex-players who are in MNSMs pockets to p😈😈s off. HH.

Kazim Richards must be the strongest man to ever pull on a pair of football boots everytime he goes near a player they fall over and get a free kick clearly the refs are looking at his reputation before hand ridiculous. was a better performance today especially the 1st half Tierney just keeps getting better . was good to see mulgrew in at cb rather than midfield maybe that's what the talks where about during the week players fed up with been played out of position.

My thoughts on our team/ manager is simply this.
We at Celtic expect our team to play in a certain way, regardless of who the manager is, we have the biggest budget within our League and when we see our team falter with such poor performances then we have the right to ask why and also the right to voice our concerns.
What we expected from RD and the team falls way short of of we we are actually watching.

As a realist I don't expect us to win every game or win every comp we are in and might just win the League and possibly the Scottish cup but by god we are making hard work of it.

Rant over.

In the last half a dozen games, including todays, how many different teams has Ronnie picked?, is getting bit ridiculous.

Going to ask this question before the euphoria of beating Morton later today begins. When we (as we should) win the double would everyone agree it is by far the worst Celtic side in our living memory to achieve this?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - #BestFansInTheWorld

06 Mar 2016 01:43:40
#facing reality

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I remember going years without winning a trophy and I'm as happy seeing us lift trophies now as I was when I was a kid. There's very few supporters across the world who could turn the possibility of winning two trophies into a negative. Two trophies we haven't even won yet, it sounds like you'd be disappointed if we do though.}

06 Mar 2016 01:45:21
It won't really matter it will be in the record books. It couldn't care less if they are the worst team in the world to win a double as long as they do it. The problems with the team and the management can be sorted out then.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's far too sensible, Grout, behave yourself. It's the morning of an important cup game and there's folk coming out with that.}

06 Mar 2016 02:14:53
I remember those years as well,but we were up against Minty's millions, a bit similar to us and the rest this season. Ed you can't honestly say it would be any kind of achievement winning a one horse race this season. Papering over the cracks comes to mind.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - When it comes to winning trophies I couldn't care what it papers over. For me this is a time for everyone to pull together and get the double over the line. I will never get bored of, or flippant about, seeing CFC winning trophies, don't you want to see us beat Rangers records?
How about backing the team and manager to get the trophies in the bag and see what happens after that?}

06 Mar 2016 07:28:59
No I wouldn't. I remember the 90s.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 08:02:51
Ok hypothetical question. Say we are still playing this badly in the champions league and we somehow got to the final and won it. Would you be upset we were European champions no you wouldn't. Every team plays rubbish at some point this is our time we will get better.

Agree1 Disagree2

06 Mar 2016 08:24:48
I'd rather be the worst team ever to win a double, than be the best team never to win one.

Agree4 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 10:17:56
Of course being pragmatic has its place - the great Italian teams were the masters of it! They were also the masters of doing whatever it took, being streetwise, and never being bullied! We don't fit into any of that! Of course trophies will always come first but a child would understand that it's all relative - just winning Serie A, is different to just winning the SPL. If we were doing a lot of things right but just falling short I would still be behind Ronny like I was until a few months ago, but you can only fool yourself for so long! The team isn't doing anything well at the moment! Like Ed I watched Celtic through the dark days but I never remember having only 2/ 3 players out a whole squad getting pass marks! I also read today that we've played 35 players roughly this year. Other teams, especially in England with huge squads of 30/ 40 players still only actually played around 25. For me Lawwell, Park, and Deila, and the coaches all have to go!

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 11:08:57
Nah Stevie. At end of the day no matter what anyones opinion of him is, if we get scottish cup he will have returned 2 doubles in his 2 seasons at club AND crucially produced some form of european football each season. All this achieved on a far less budget than previous managers and with Peter Lawwell meddling and doing a "romanov" in terms of team selections.

Board should of backed him and brought in 2 wingers to make 4-2-3-1 work but they never. Ronnys downfall was not adjusting to 4-4-2 to make better use of squad.

He was only brought into be a puppet. I cringe at thought of who will be brought in next.

Stevie - exactly. We could only dream of league and cup doubles back then, so maybe rather than posting such tripe and making a fool of yourself, you should get behind the team and enjoy the possibility of said double in the here and now.

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Mar 2016 16:07:11
No problem in me getting behind the team TPP , what I do have a problem with is watching our standards slip so far that we've somehow managed to turn what should be a one horse race into a struggle, and i'm not even going to mention our recent European efforts. If the rest improve just slightly next year and we go backwards at the same rate we have been we"re in trouble. How embarrassing would that be?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 16:52:43
So you've taken us from winning the double and then being in trouble next year across the course of this thread?
