If you can't find a bar that is showing it, download Live Net TV onto your laptop/ tablet or phone and you get the Celtic TV channel for free on it.

Neymar - Nae-Mare!
As much as it chokes me to see all the favourites tumble out one by one - to England's advantage; I'm glad to see the back of that wee cheating, acting, spoiled wee nob.
Hazard/ DE Bruyne showed they're the real class act; so good luck to Belgium as they played to their strengths and held on even though they looked shattered.
Although another question mark over this VAR nonsense, where Brazil looked to have been denied a penalty after a foul by Kompany?
It just proves that a committee can still make as many honest mistakes as just the one mason in the black ha ha ha. cannot wait 'til it's used here - not.

That decision just backs up everything that Ed has been saying about VAR.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2018 12:05:53
Naw it didn’t. VAR has been right about 95% of the time. There have been errors, but let’s focus on all the decisions and don’t cherry pick to suit an argument that the stats don’t back up.

How anybody here in hun ref heaven would rather have them defies belief,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Because it would still be 'Hun refs working the VAR', are people actually that thick they dan't understand that?
Have you got any actual proof that VAR has been right 'about 95% of the time' or is that just that you've agreed with that amount, just because you agree with the decision still doesn't make it the right one.}

07 Jul 2018 12:36:52
Naw, the point is the hun refs who have to make the call don’t have anywhere to hide. Are people too stupid to realise that. If they confirmed absolute mistakes they are answerable for them. Do you honestly think Celtic would see a VAR decision totally show a penalty, then these hun refs would say, no it isn’t and we are going to accept that?

Refs get away with honest mistakes because the make judgements in real time. Any ref in the VAR room, even the ones with a sash on, will know their decisions have the benefit of hindsight, can be evidenced and if they still favour the refs honest mistake it would put them in the spotlight as we would take this evidence to Eufa.

VAR any day.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And UEFA would say what, ask even more refs to look at videos of the action? Where do we stop, when we get the decision that YOU want?
As I've said, ex-refs, ex-players and hundreds of pundits give their opinion on what happens during a game and it's very rare that they all agree, the VAR team's opinion might be different from the refs and that might be different from the fans.
It's all down to the opinion of the decision maker and as we've seen in Germany it is very far from a safe method of deciding games.
Oh and btw, UEFA wouldn't get involved, it would be the SFA/SPFL that would deal with any complaints, even more Scottish refs looking at videos and giving their opinion, and then what, get all the players back together to take a penalty that should have been awarded weeks ago, take points off a team 2/3 days after the game?
If you scream out for VAR then moan and want to run to UEFA when you don't agree with the decision you're making yourself look a fool.}

07 Jul 2018 13:28:23
Agree with ed to a certain extent. A hun cheating is a hun cheating won't change. Most pundits thought Brazil should have had a penalty last night. Person looking at VAR didn't. So still down to human descion.

Part I disagree with ed. Caley cemi-final no one could have said that wasn't a penalty, after a tv review. So got to make the cheating harder.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You can always pick out specific incidents that it would help - remember Frank Lampard's disallowed goal against Germany in the WC 2010? - but overall it wouldn't make much difference up here except give the ref's a back up for their honest mistakes, if a ref gives a dodgy penalty and VAR agrees it's a pen does that mean it's not dodgy?
Whether it's the ref on the park, VAR, pundits and ex-players in studios or guys like us on here or in the pub it all comes down to personal opinion and interpretation.
Look at THIS, surely VAR will either show the ref was bias or not or is that all down to people's opinion too?
As long as people agree with the decisions they're happy but when they don't agree it's a different matter, Magicpole's already wanting to run to UEFA if he doesn't agree with a VAR decision!!
It's a pointless conversation anyway, it'll never be brought into Scotland, we don't even have goal line technology up here!}

07 Jul 2018 14:20:55
If Scottish Football where to introduce Var it could very well co-incide with the return of Hugh Dallas as a major player in Scottish Football . Hugh himself, and many others would see him as the ideal person to control VAR implementation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The list of applicants to be head of VAR would be longer than one for the job of rubbing sunscreen onto J-Lo's butt!}

07 Jul 2018 17:58:57
That's why the Mason's are likely to take their safe option Dallas.

What are people's thoughts on our inactivity in the transfer window.
Are we hostages to fait with injuries and playing a dangerous game with the qualifiers on the horizon.
Or are some of us worrying for nothing. is the squad good enough to go to weĺl again?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jul 2018 20:26:29
Playing a dangerous game imo

Our team is good enough to win these 2 qualifiers but the 3rd and 4th I’m not so confident at all unless the squad is improved.

When I say improved I mean far better than McGinn or the Yeovil defender we are linked with.

I think we have more than enough projects at the minute. We need first team ready players with pedigree to make a decent fist of Europe.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Jul 2018 21:07:47
I think it’s very naive to accuse the club of being inactive. For all we know there could be offers on the table to multiple players and we’re having to wait on an answer. Another unfortunate fact is that some players might not commit to playing in Scotland without guaranteed CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2018 21:08:39
I think we will tackle the first qualifier with what we have; however, we must be thinking seriously about additions thereafter?
The WC and the normal stalling and uncertainty that goes with every window is always going to hamper us in our League and location, but surely we have been making serious steps to strengthen since the final whistle in the cup final - or before?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2018 21:12:00
For me we are selling the manager short, we have a bigger task than ever to make it to the champions league group stages and we have effectively turned a loan into a perminent move and lost 2 good players in Armstrong and paddy. We are also down Lustig, Boyata and Rogic, overall we are a much weaker side for our first qualifier.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2018 21:39:50
What i can't get my head round is the fact we have sold players who everyone knew were leaving and that we have players at WC.
The club have known this longer than the fans. and they still havnt brought replacements in never mind strenghten.
The WC players could be out for another month.
Every manager must want there targets in early. BR will be no different.

06 Jul 2018 22:07:24
Its the same every season. We go into CL qualifiers with pretty much same team that finished the season. Same every year. No idea why.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2018 22:31:31
if you have no idea why, we go into Champions League with much the same squad as we finished the previous season , the fault lies within yourself .
Very simple clubs are only now really becoming interested in selling players of value . These players may have had international duties at some age, and also they all would have had holidays . Clubs don't usually want to part with players until they have some idea how they will replace the player leaving .
There are any amount of over rated and over paid players who probably wouldn't get on our bench who agents have been pushing since early May .
We don't want these rejects.

06 Jul 2018 23:08:56
Selling the manager short? I don’t buy that one. All this doom n gloom over signings I’m pretty sure Brendan knows what he wants and if he can’t get he won’t bother with 2nd best. Keep the faith bhoys 10 in a row 🍀.

This is probably the same as playing Alloa or Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup. Not guaranteed to win but something very bad would have to happen for us to lose.
No need to hit the panic button yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2018 12:29:41
We will strengthen and it us true players delay, as do clubs to see where their best offer comes from. Our league isn’t a natural choice, we need to accept that.

I am as inpatient as anybody wanting players in, but they need to be the right ones. If after all the delays we still don’t bring in anyone, then it’s justifued to feel let down,

That won’t happen. The potential cash on offer will focus the mind of the board. The personal ambition of Brendan to show that his team can play in the CL without being humiliated is key for his own future after us. It’s also important for him as a fan to be the guide behind us doing the business in the CL. By doing the business, I mean being fav for 3rd place, anything better than that would be unbelievable.

We will buy and we will be better. We have enough to negotiate at least two of these rounds, possibly three, but we could face a very good team in the 4th and we must be ready for that.

I think we will so I am just getting on with waking up and searching for news and saying, aw feck, maybe the morra.

We have been told This inactivity always happens, maybe that's our key for our success, u don't win 7 leagues in a row or back to back trebles .
A team like Rangers 2012., with their 6 or 8 or more players in every season will get know where and will continue to struggle for a top four finish in a two horse race.

Afternoon Bhoys and ghirls. Non football related, but just like to mention the anniversary today of the horrendous events 30 years ago on the Piper Alpha. I'm sure there's plenty Celtic supporting guys and girls who frequent this site who currently work offshore, and who will take a moment to think back to that hellish day. Thoughts and prayers with all the families who lost their loved ones. To those of you offshore at the moment, be safe. To everyone Hail hail.
