Hi bhoys and Ghirly hope use are all keeping safe. This Transfer window in my eyes is about starting to shipping out and makng space for the next generation, rather than trying to paper over the cracks. What do use all think?

Sounds good to me rich T.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2021 16:14:15
Rich T I’ve conceded nothing and we should be trying to win the second half of the season. RECRUITMENT (1) keep what we have and know we need even to make a fist of it Eddy, Nelly Noosy, Mc Gregor etc. (2) buy minimum that we know we need which would be a centre half and (3) punt those we know that will never cut the mustard and will be no loss or who are desperate want aways if possible.

See where we end up at the end of the season then let the new manager, backroom staff and recruitment guru (what has happened to Celtics scouting system since Park left) and clear and restock the shelves as they deem necessary.

Am not giving up i still think we have a punchers chance at the league and still have a squad big enough to do something but there are still players there who we can move on who are not getting game time and still maybe win the league with i. e Ntcham Duffy back Elhamed. Promote O Cornell Welsh.

We can beat everybody and them. twice, but only if we shore up our defence and sign a winger who can beat a man and find a good final baw. If we do that, they need to lose one game and draw another and we win. They are rubbish and I duly exact them. to crumble if we pile the pressure on. The fly in the ointment is our pathetic recruitment, where we need to buy 5 players to get one who is any good. Over to Lawell. No laughing at the back.

Ideally I would have wanted a better quality manager to come in and give us all a lift as we really need a fitness and tactical overhaul. Anyway that's not going to happen; so we try to make the best of it and build on the positives of Soro and Turnbull etc?

Rogic was halfway out the door in the summer and maybe he will go?
As for the malcontents; I would hope the club accepts any suitable bids, as it's partly their fault we are in this mess and I really don't want to see half-hearted players dragging us down even more.
Not sure if Duffy will continue his loan, but we needed decent centre back anyway so I expect an arrival one way or the other.
James Forrest will be like a new signing and Johnston is on the way back; maybe we can swap Klimala (or even Ajeti) with a better option to put away the chances we have started to create?

06 Jan 2021 17:59:20
You know what I mean though (1) who would we rather keep to give us the best chance of winning the league? That obvious includes Eddy at his best but if he’s bullet point 3 and is going to give us nothing he’s at bullet point 3 whether we like it or not. Decision shouldn’t be made based on Eddy at his best but Eddy I can’t be arsed if that’s the case. If he’s a want away he’s a want away get rid shot at dawn (2) what do we know we need which is a centre half for starters plus whatever else and (3) punt the donkeys and the want aways including Eddy if it’s half ar$ed Eddy we’d be keeping.

Then give the second half of the season our best shot with players that want to wear the green and white.

A reporter on clyde ss says that he heard if we win old firm game we wouldve been after a high profile keeper from the EPL no name mentioned my question to that would b why not go after him still?

06 Jan 2021 19:43:48
Rich T you said the reporter said he heard we were after a goalkeeper just like most posters on here they heard we were after this or that player.

Possibly trying to punt him because he is picking up wages for nothing. For all Simunovic injury problems, at least we got some very good games out of him; Benkovic has rarely played since leaving us.

He’s no use on the treatment table and can’t play on plastic. We’ve got enough players that are what I would call weak, either in body or mind.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2021 05:23:49
We aren’t capable of winning EVERY game until end of season, we didn’t manage it under Rodgers in invincible season when we were far stronger and opposition much weaker, or last season when we were on fire and needed stoppage time equaliser v Livvy and still had our toughest fixtures to come ie Sevco and Hibs away and that was before the split.
I love the optimism of our fans but we won 8 in a row before 1st derby defeat and 6 before that and then went on horrible run, I’m more concerned about taking each game at a time and hoping we put pressure on them rather than thinking we can go from dropping 14 points in 19 games to zero in same period with harder games as we have split included in 2nd half.
We haven’t won at Ibrox, Pittodrie, Easter Road, Rugby Park all season .

As far as I can see we still have both Gutman and Perez on our books but very little chance of a work permit for either so may have to reluctantly let them go in the summer.

07 Jan 2021 09:47:25
He is still out on loan, there was a change in the team that holds his registration in America. He still hasn't played internationally so still can get a work permit.

Don't suppose you guys noticed (or cared lol) that I have been MIA since Boxing Day. Mrs T and I came down with some sort of bug that absolutely floored us both for 10 days, so much so the girls ordered a CV home test kit for both of us, which luckily has just come back negative this morning, which is a big weight off our minds.
I hope most of you had a better festive season than the Timalloys and looking forward to 2021.
I was just just catching up on your posts over past week or so and not much to add except to say that this Dubai trip has become a PR nightmare, surely the club should have postponed this trip as the photos coming back show the club in a bad light.

Good to hear you are all OK Tim. Dubai trip was booked BEFORE the new lockdown in fairness. That said, you can guarantee the sevco lot have been hitting nikla with complaints and THAT is votes so she has no choice but to address it. (just beacause THEY can't afford a wee break methinks)

Guys it was scary the two of us just literally lay in different rooms out of it, luckily the girls were great and both being level headed helped a lot, also as the eldest is now a fully trained pharmacist (literally took final exams July) she kept us all right. I would advise anyone to book a test, if nothing else just for your own peace of mind.
Only good thing about being laid up it spared me the gloating of my ex bears and The Suit.

It is time for a little bit of Realism

Even before the Ibrox result I doubted THIS Celtic team could claw back the sevvies and that game just reinforced my mindset.

I know a lot of you will not like this or me praising our former manager Brendan, but when we were reduced to 10 men Lennon and Kennedy just seemed to accept defeat and had nothing tactics wise to counter this problem, unlike Rodgers who PLANNED ahead for these type of decisions and most times overcame them.

I have come to terms with the league being over as I have no faith in Lennon or these players putting a sustained challenge in, our focus must be to finish second and at least get the other CL spot, I am even worried with Lennon still in charge we might not even get 2nd place. Just my own opinion.
I will STILL give our team 100% support but Lennon, Lawwell and Desmond have killed the 10.

06 Jan 2021 10:28:42
Tim We all said the same thing prior to the game. and that was the back 4 cannot be relied on and the keeper is weak as well. they got 2 corners barkas flapped at one and the marking for second is school boy.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2021 10:50:52
Under Brendan, Celtic were reduced to 10 men on 8 domestic occasions.
We were still undefeated in those games by winning 6 games and drawing 2 games.
Since Lennon has come back,
Celtic have only been reduced to 10 men on 3 domestic occasions.
We’ve lost on 2 occasions and we won the league cup final in the other match.
But in the 2 hours combined when we’ve played with 10 men under Lenny,
Celtic have still to produce a single goal.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2021 11:10:52
I said the same thing recently as I remembered the 'Red Card Ross' game at Ibrox; but still we prevailed 3-2 and arguably we performed better in last Saturdays game, but totally lost the place.
If you look at every game where tactical or personnel decisions had to be made to affect or save the game, Lennon looks lost, Kennedy looks at his shoes and we fail miserably to reorganize or address the problems until far too late and even when changes were made, it still leaves us baffled and frustrated.
After Bitton got stupidly sent-off, there was a shuttle of panic changes which evaporated the organization and confidence beforehand.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jan 2021 12:46:45
It just looks like a severe lack of preparation. Brendan would have us preparing for a cup final whether it was rangers or Hamilton we were playing. Lennon's go to is to bring on players in hope rather than expectation and if that doesn't work change to 352 and if that doesn't work stick a defender up front and play long balls. A coach should be able to see where the game can be influenced and change accordingly. By the way Gerrard has not a clue either. The substitutions have been a hindrance, even if our subs have scored the most goals in the league. It results in too many changes and players not really knowing their role. Interrupts play so much as well and you never see an extra 5 mins injury time for all the subs.

Agree with you 100% Timalloy and whilst many fans are still unhappy with the way he left, BR was and still is lightyears ahead of NL, both on and off the field.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2021 15:18:11
Did Rodgers not say in an interview we would actually train with 10 men incase we were reduced to 10 now that's the difference and really need to get back to those standards.

I posted a while ago saying we had missed a trick in Meling the Left back from Rosenborg, he since has moved to France after a flying start he has suffered a severe knee injury and his team have lost every game since sitting bottom of the French league, if/ when they are relegated in Summer he could be a great option for a left back and cheaper than the 7 million wanted for Laxalt.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2021 09:38:15
A Norwegian Internationalist in his mid 20s went to the French club for Under a million pounds. I think it was £900k.
It’s strange how Celtic never made a move for Meling after being linked with him for a long time.
He would’ve played next to International teammates Ajer ( left side CB ) and Elyounoussi ( left midfield )
Too obvious and easy for the Celtic recruitment team.
