How very interesting that Jabba answered the rumour of the winding up order. Interestingly he never denied that money was owed, he claimed it was"an insignificant amount", and upon receipt of the paperwork it would be paid. Two things; If it was an "insignificant amount" why not state it and make the other party look very cheap and nasty? Also, Was his boss not shouting about being debt free and cash rich? It would appear actually paying bills is still a problem down Piebrox way. And this club want the world to forgive them and start over?Laughable. . . green jhedi

There were and are no debts at newco rangers 5088. No debt to Hearts £400k, no debt to rapid Vienna £800k no debt to orlit £400k.

£400k is insignificant, only season tickets for 2, 300 fans after tax. All the above 10,000 fans.

Agree3 Disagree0

£400k is insignificant? How ridiculous! People starving and freezing in this economy.
I'm sure every CEO of every SFL and SPL club, including Celtic, disagrees.
The shares money is going out the door to debt. Debt that doesn't exist.

@Green Jhedi. Poor Rangers they have had to put up with all us "winding" them up now it has gone world wide and far east guys are getting in the act. lol Timalloy

Agree11 Disagree0

400k is a significant fee of money to anyone mate. In football, in business whatever you like. What a stupid comment to make. You could buy about 6 or 7 of the Rangers first team combined for 400k. Faure, hegarty, Perry, Cribari, Hutton, Kyle and Sandaza. Black aswell. Chico would take your hand off at 400k for that pile of garbage.

And stop ignoring the FACTS mate. Rapid Vienna still haven't been paid what you owe them! They were speaking about it last month. Saying Rangers have agreed to pay them what they owed BUT they haven't received payment yet. They weren't claiming they where worried or anything, infact they sounded like they had been told a fine old tale by Old chucks. Fact are facts though and you haven't settled all footballing debts like the king liar says have you? Laughable honestly!

Agree8 Disagree0

Wont rapid viennas money come from any money the oldco receives for jelavic from everton?

Agree0 Disagree7

@No. 5

The new club won't see a penny from Everton - that debt died with the old club. Green agreed to pay Rangers' football-related debts as a condition of being granted associate membership of the SFA / SFL. This means he will have to pay Vienna the money owing on Jelavic but can't chase Everton for the cash. It's a bit like when Celtic signed Bobo Balde - a fee of £1m was agreed with Toulouse who subsequently went bust. Celtic ended up with the player without paying a transfer fee. This is probably why Whyte turned down West Ham's bid for Jelavic, even though it was higher than Everton's. Everton were paying more upfront and it's pointless accepting payment in installments when they would disappear as soon as the club went into liquidation.
Tragic, isn't it?

Agree4 Disagree0

@5) No!

SFA ordered Rangers to pay all football debts at home and abroad. Part of the deal to get they're membership.

Agree4 Disagree0

@5) no! Oldco receipts are for creditors (in reality D&P and BDO fees).

Green assumed all footballing debts and must pay rapid V a recently agreed reduction from £1m to £800k.

I see Alex Thomson has an article out today about a Singaporean company called orlit who say they are petitioning for a winding up order on THE RANGERS for £400000 bill for services rendered. Wonder why it takes a channel 4 war correspondent to uncover these stories are our sports journalists so incompetent (tongue is firmly in cheek for that last bit)

£400k is but a bit of fluff in the pocket of CG.
Could this be the scam/ trigger to give reason to fold and walk away with the dosh?
Any overlapping directors between octopus-Ticketus and this lot? So many Singapore links to an old and new Glasgow CLubs.

Agree4 Disagree0

Mr Shysters demeanour after the defeat to Dundee U
Speaks volumes. I think the gravity of the situation is becoming clear that the floatation of Zombieco was done on a wing and a prayer and points to no extra cash being available at the time after he bought the assets of the now dead club, and as sure as berz sh!t in the woods the cracks are beginning to show.

Maybe they should consider mortgaging thousands of seat tickets for 4 years to Ticketus? To get them through this year. Rotfpmsl.

I cannot understand why Lennon has left a CL place empty, I know Gershon is not yet match fit, but we will need good defenders especially over in Turin, with the best will in the world, Izzy is not a defender.
Young Gershon could have been named and hopefully made a contribution.
I hope Lennon goes with either Mathews or Ledley at left back versus Juve. Timalloy

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I think its because you have to have a certain amount of home grown players in the squad but maybe doesn't think he has any more youngsters ready for it

Your lack of belief in Izaguirre is unbelievable. He isn't the player he was before the injury ok I will give you that but he is still a better left back than anyone else at Celtic or anyone else in the SPL. That is a fact mate. Ledley isn't a left back. He's got away with playing there once or twice, but i've seen him really struggle in there aswell. Mathews has had 1 good game at left back against Barca, a great performance i'll give you that, but every other time I have seen play there he has been poor to average. Izaguirre has played well in most of his CL appearances. He was solid against Benfica in the 1st game. Played well and created the winner against Spartak in the 2nd game. He worked his socks off in the nou camp, not a great performance but not at fault for either of the goals. He missed the 2 games against Benfica away and Barca at home through injury and played ok against Spartak at home. Can anyone on here tell me a better left back we have had in the last 10 years? Seriously! Even playing the way he is now, he's still a better left back than Danny Fox, Mo Camara, Stephen Crainey, Ross Wallace, Michael Gray, Lee Naylor, Ryan Conroy or Edson Braafheid. We tried Barry Robson, Jon-Joel Perrier-Doumbe and Mark Wilson there and they all struggled. The only player in the last ten years who I can honestly say was as good in there was Jackie McNamara. And he was a right-back which probably tells you something about how good a player he was. And McNamara only ever played there when we played a back 4 which wasn't very often under Martin O'Neill. He mostly played on the left hand side of a back 3. Anyway the point i'm making is clear, we should stick with Izzy and play him till he gets back to his best. Even close to his best would be enough, he was that good.

Agree3 Disagree3

Izzy was at fault for Spartak's goal in the last game. Too far forward as usual, If he does that against Juve they will punish us more than once. I like Izzy, but I think the LB position is our weakest area of the team. I hope I'm completely wrong though. HH

Sparky88

Agree2 Disagree2

@2. I think Matthews is a better defender than Izzy, because he tracks back quickly after breaking forward and Izzy takes his time. I hope we start with Lustig RB Matthews LB Fifebhoy1888

Agree2 Disagree0

It's easy to choose any player and focus on an individual mistake here or there.
Celtic fans are lucky to be spotting singular errors from their players in top level CL football.
Izzy has put in amazing defensive perforces in CL games, especially Barca.
It's time to get behind the whole squad that got us here and played like heroes. No more whingeing. Leave the management to our most excellent manager.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed can we still register a new signing right up until the day before the game?

Maybe Lenny has a free agent lined up that he plans to sign and get in the CL squad that's the only way it makes sense not putting Rogic or Gershon in.

CeltStu {Ed007's Note - Once the squads are registered that's it Stu.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with the sentiment that Izzy doesn't track back. He is very slow to re-take his position after a foray forward. I think the best solution is to play him, and whilst in training have a system in place where there is one midfielder (Ledley for example) who slots into left back while Izzy goes forward. When we go forward, we don't have 2 strikers, 4 midfielders and Izzy all up in the final third. We could afford to drop a mid back while Izzy gets his breath back. And then if there is a quick break against us, Izzy doesn't have to run the full pitch, he can defend from midfield. Once the play is broken up, just swap back and start again.

Agree1 Disagree0

I've commented on this numerous times. Basically, I don't think Izaguirre and Samaras can play at the same time.
Izzy always looks to attack wide - with Sammy hugging the touchline is he always drifts inside. He constantly gets caught around the centre circle out of position.
Ledley can do the covering for one of them - no bother - but not both.
I think its a tweak to the formation and balance of the side that's needed - not simply 'a new left-back'. kbt1978

Agree2 Disagree0

Well said the last 2 posters. Finally some footballing sense on here instead of armchair footballers dragging players down and pretending they know the game. Izaguirre hasn't lost all that ability he had because of his injury. His confidence is low and his engine isn't what it was before to get up an down the pitch. He was coming good again before his hamstring went at tannadice a while back. It's taking him time again. He is by far our bet left back. The suggestion that Mathews is a better defender is valid. But not on his wrong side at left back he's not.

How funny is it that stv has won the bid to show our last 16 game when they put out that it was game over for us when the cl draw was made. What a joke they are and I hope nl or one of the players remind them of that in an interview to stick it to them. C-Bhoy

They certainly kept their distance up til now as in previous years they have shown all the group games of Scotland's representatives.
The media ally of our late rivals have assembled a Celtic-friendly panel for the Juventus game - no doubt hoping they witness an Italian victory - so let's hope we put on another CL extravaganza?

STV ARE UNDOUBTEDLY PRO NEW CLUB 5088. Their weak coverage and pandering has been embarrassing. JMacKay's interview of Glints Chico skipped the tough questions and their use of that financial expert bluenose was ridiculous.

STV HAVE NO MONEY - they had issues paying itv for programme rights last year, why would they spend money they don't have on additional games that itv aren't showing?.

The game is being shown across the ITV network. STV show what ITV shows now. They are skint. kbt1978
