So would you rather have folowing:

Keep Eddy and add Fletcher or Lyle?
Loose Eddy and sign others?

Reason I ask is the players we are looking at are not going to be 1st pick so hopefully means Eddy is staying.

Im the first option with Fletcher preferably.

Keep Eddie and sign the tea lady as backup would be preferable to losing him.

If eddy stays we don't need fletcher or taylor . if eddy goes we need far better than those two.

All the focus has been on getting a striker in. The Priority position is getting a Left footed CH in. Yes we will bring 1 in but it's like a mad rush. An injury to Julien or Ajer will have us playing Biton or El hamed or young Welsh which isn't good enough for Europe. I hope NL has learned to put the players in their natural positions and gets the right formation this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Aug 2020 09:33:23
Jullien and Ajer are not good enough for Europe. I'd rather be playing Bitton at CB beside Jullien than Ajer. Personally I'd love to see a partnership of Bitton and Elhamed as I think it maybe pretty solid and may just be what we are missing defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2020 09:39:10
If Fletcher and Lyle are the best we are looking at then we are hitting the cheap options again and are we seriously gambling with 10iar. lenny keeps saying quality instead of quantity so bring quality in. HH.

If we do sign taylor I will support him 100. %
But we could do with a new cb first
If true about Peterborough I'd tell Barry fry
To do one . how much would you pay for a league one player?

Refused to play for his club as they battled relegation after lockdown, poor form.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 19:00:39
Had to google him to see who he was; and he's a 30 year old free agent who - as they say - has had more clubs than Lee Trevino.
Really unimpressed to be honest.
Here we are a club vying for a quadruple treble, 10-in-a-row, European progress and improvement - and we should be looking at a higher calibre of player IMO. However, the windae is open for weeks so it's no 'curtains' just yet and no 'blind' panic - yet.

Given that Pedros cheque book is whiter than Brendan the rodents teeth if there is a war chest and there should be this is the year we should be revealing it and putting all opposition and pretenders to the throne to the sword financially including the C.V.-1690 brigade (I know brigade is a bad word to use where theyā€™re concerned) . Either that or the Ā£1000s Iā€™ve spent to achieve 9 over the last decade were wasted.

Morelos booking Evens (bl00dy bookies cutting odds)
Jack 5/ 2
Kent 5/ 1 (he gets booked more in europe)
Penalty 5/ 2 ordering off 7/ 2.

Iā€™m just back from Glasgow city centre on the day the Celtic and Sevco stores could start selling their new home tops to the public.

Aberdeen player test positive for CV-19, obviously hope the guy is ok, but how will this affect games, is there any protocol in place for a "lockdown" period we're teams can't play other teams?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2020 15:26:23
Yes we get awarded 10 in a row lol just kidding the teams Aberdeen that should play Aberdeen should auto get the 3pts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo as long as the rest of the team test negative then the game should go ahead.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 17:48:45
Yes, but the virus might not show up on test untill a few days after contact, so all his teammates that he has been in contact with during training might be carrying the virus, they really need to get these 90 minute tests up and running, and test both teams on the day of the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 18:25:41
You would think Sevco will have to be fully tested before they go out off Europe tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 18:29:56
Aindoh I think its fairly obviously both teams would be tested.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 19:45:46
I think celtic have a machine for doing tests there are I think clubs in Scotland that has one I don't know the other two but sevco don't have one I know that. So maybe celtic will test opposition players to make sure they are OK to play. Well I would like to think we would so we would not be relying on other people's tests and put our players in danger.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - All of the tests are conducted independently by health officials.}

I thought celtic had thier own machine.

Whatā€™s your take on the resent news on targets ie Fletcher Ajeti and Toney this German lad fae Man City too many names out of them we might see one but which one?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2020 14:39:31
Ideally toney to pair up with eddy or griff but he's prob too rich for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:44:52
personally i would have toney. the lad has a lot more in him.

06 Aug 2020 15:03:24
Lot more to him than ajeti? don't know how anyone can say that.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 15:50:22
I think Toney and Ajeti are both good players for me if I was to choose it would be Toney simply because I think he will be more match fit but would be happy with either.

Good luck to Robbie Deas as he starts a new chapter with Inverness Caley. Deas partnered Stephen Welsh in the CB area of the Development Squad and built up a solid understanding and partnership.
We can't keep everybody and so the shedding of players continues.

Someone I know who watched a lot of the devolepment games rates that bhoy deas highly.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 12:31:06
Do some people genuinely think that replacing our 4th choice striker, Bayo, with Steven Fletcher is a step down? Crazy. Bayo was in the same mould as Scott Allan with some fans, the less he plays the better he gets. 1 target man out and 1 in. If the window closes with Edouard, Toney or Ajeti, Griffths, Klimala and Fletcher then I'd be happy.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2020 12:53:02
Dont think Bayo can be classed as a target man. They need to be able to hold the ball up not have the ball bouncing off your shin and out for a throw everytime. Fletcher is twice the player, at 33, that Bayo will ever be.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 13:11:17
6 strikers is madness.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 13:12:31
Four strikers is more than ehnough.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 13:46:56
I listed 5, of which 1 has a lot of work to do, Klimala and 1 that in my opinion should be released, Griffiths.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:00:59
Fletcher is a better option than bayo who is always injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:06:31
Bayo will be sold klimala is to go out on loan for a year in Scotland with Aberdeen being potential Souter's. That's why Lennon is trying to bring in two more experienced forwards.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:11:35
Bayo downfall is injury, though I do think if he goes out on loan and manages to avoid injuries he will improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:14:37
Wulie10 I would be surprised if they let Klimala go out on loan. He has done well preseason and looks like he is finding his feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:30:15
Klimala will be used as a sub and sent on as a battering ram against the cloggers in the league as in Ross County, Killy, Motherwell, Livingston.

I'm struggling to figure out the striker situation at the club. Let's break it down.

Eddy - Critical

Can't lose him this window but there are talks of a 30-40m price tag which teams seem to be willing to pay? ever since the Dembele/ Tierney sales and showing there progression. It almost seems like we've continued to increase our prices which is great.

Griff - Important?

What is the situation with Griffiths does Lennon trust him? Can we be certain he's ready? If he goes awol again we are a striker short. Again another unreliable.

Klimala - Prospect

All be it Klimala has came in learned the language and really pushed for his chances. He's looked a good prospect but again is unreliable running into the transfer window.

Bayo - To be sold

Hopefully off the books. To much uncertainty again and if we can get someone better in it's no loss.

Toney, Ajeti continuously linked. Fletcher again in talks?

Due to all this it looks like Lennon wants both Toney and Ajeti. Assuming they replace Bayo we will have 5 strikers on the books. Does anyone have a feeling Griff and Bayo are to be sold or to go on loan? That's if we keep eddy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2020 12:04:11
What we see is continuous touting in the market. Whether Ajeti or Toney or Fletcher signs we'll not know until it happens. NL is on record as saying he'll be looking for another striker so every name under the sun is being linked just about. There isn't anyone oven ready in the Development Squad who could come in as a fourth or fifth striker - possible Cameron Harper but he would be developmental.
Clearly Lennon was critical of Griffiths re the condition he came back as - and then he praised him. Possibly to big him up to be sold or to keep him due to the record (goals) he has achieved.
Whatever the scenario there sure does appear to be something happing in the forward area. especially if Eddy keeps us waiting until he finds what's out there to suit himself.
Klimala is starting to prove himself so he'll not be going anywhere. It's anyone's guess between Eddy, Griff and Bayo.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 12:24:56
I obviously hope Edouard stays but if he doesn't want to remain then I would rather sell him now rather than him leave in October when we will be well into the season.
When Dembele left a couple of years ago it happened right at the end of the window and we couldn't get a replacement in, it left us well short in the striking department and we were relying on getting no injuries.
I haven't a clue whether Edouard wants to stay or not, but if his heart isn't in it then I would rather get it sorted sooner rather than later. I don't want any nasty surprises right at the end of the transfer window.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 12:27:24
For me it looks like we wa t both toney and ajeti as long term replacements for eddy and griffiths. Fletcher has just fell in their lap and they are considering it.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:01:37
Be surprised kev if we sign both.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:38:15
I think weā€™re all on the same page roughly. Iā€™m thinking Griff might be offski due to the whole back and forth situation and isnā€™t reliable enough for such a big season. Klimala to stay, Bayo sold. That leaves us with Edouard and Klimala but Lennon wants 4 so Toney and Ajeti.

After that it looks like a CB is needed but Iā€™ve not heard a thing in regards to a CB in a long time. That concerns me slightly. Id like to see how Taylor fairs over the next few games before making a conclusion on if heā€™s good enough.

Guys how would u improve football as a whole?
Here is my tuppence worth,
1. Get rid of agents 100s 0f millions going out the game.
Solution is get the FAs to hire them keep it in house and keep the money in the game.

2. Get a clock on the game

3. Stop refs making decisions depending on the position player is in the time it is and where on the pitch.
How is it ok to challenge a forward striking for goal to put him off but do it to a defender clearing a ball and its a foul.
Why is a ref less inclined to give a penalty last minute.
Why are defenders never booked for diving when they clearly do it more than forwards.
Eg when they at corner flag protecting ball they get touched they thro themselves to ground.
Forward does that he gets booked.

4. Strict FFP regs brought in esp after C.V.

5. Any club goes into admin automatic relegation and any trophies won previous season taken away.

6. when the ball goes out of play in the air ie a corner curled in and lands in play its allowed as long as it doesn't touch anything external ( boards, stadium etc) .
Thats all i can think of just now guys would be interested in your ideas.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2020 13:15:40
Rayman some real good points there. the agents have killed the game, and the clock in a game. how many minutes does a game actually last ie ball in play. mabe ask buzzbomd to research that one. lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 14:30:15
Some top class ideas there

Here are some. more

Allow a blood substitution where a player leaves the field for stitches . not counting as a sub. injured player has only 6 minutes to return otherwise they cannot reenter play . ( possibly open to abuse but worth a watch)

Make the corner flag kicking box bigger as too many times the ball isn't in it

Insist on 3 U20 players in first 11 and 30% u20 subs on the bench . I think it will aid competitiveness and also youth development . players don't need to be nationals but the work permit rules would help with that anyway

Any players purchased by clubs cannot be loaned out in first season but can in 2md season . but a club can only have 10 players loaned out at any one time in any season. stops big teams controlling top talent

A rule to only allow 3 loanees to be part of any match day squad for any team

No loans permitted in same league . ever . stops big teams loaning players out and writing in rules about not being permitted to play against history clubs . can be too easily abused since it means you can enhance the competition for your rivals but not for you. and ides in a 2 horse league . yes it is true that the other team can do likewise but it simply doesn't feel right

Champions league qualification should be a league. say 8 teams. say 4 groups. say 7 games per league. and seeded teams get home advantage against tougher league teams and the advantage of away ties against weaker teams. that way all teams have an opportunity to recover from a bad 90 minutes or 180 minutes. the best teams should qualify. the top teams have the same benefit in cl groups and so why not all teams

Limit number of players teams can have on their books at any point in time

Of a player signs a contract, they MUST honour at least 50$ of the contract, ie no transfers permitted in years 0 to 2 in a 4 year deal. in a 3 year deal no transfers within months 0 to 18

A lot of what I say is about attachment. ie I want to get a players name on. my Jersey and know that they will be here for at least the time or takes to change a Jersey.

According to reports a deal is close for Steven Fletcher. We just cleared the squad of dead wood now we're filling it with more. If Bayo is on the way out then surely there is a young striker in the development squad that could take his place!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2020 10:25:02
If we are running with eddy and griff as 1 and 2 with klimala at 3 how the he'll do you keep another top striker happy with game time this might be quite shrewd business for a year. all this nonsense about age hell our captain is nearly 36 by all accounts Fletcher is a great pro and a keep fit fanatic and although not prolific he gets goals and is great in the air and holding it up. if we sign toney a few on here will take the negative that it means eddy is away club can't win.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 10:48:32
Very disappointing, considering the amazing season book sales, wages freed-up by clear-out and the huge expectation of this season.
Obviously, there is still plenty time left in the window to address the quality required in key areas, but signings like this don't really inspire or excite the squad or the support and if anything gives our detractors and rivals encouragement.
Toney and Ajeti are obviously non-starters, maybe our scouts must be recruiting from social media if this is an example?
The money should always be spent on improvement, with a moral boosting, fans buzzing, statement of intent - Maybe next time?

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 11:24:03
Maybe the money we would shell out on toney could be better used. on a cb and lb we need cover on the wings Fletcher would give us good cover as av said for a year why not plenty experience. who wouldn't want toney and eddy anno I would. but if it's too rich for one year to get the ten why not fletcher.
