Yes! Absolutely fantastic news! And the way he's talking, really gives me hope he could be persuaded to stay! That would be something else as I really rate him as a player and superb prospect. Any way that we could find a bit of Scots in his DNA.?

More chance of Irish roots wae that name.

{Ed007's Note - Patrick John Joseph Roberts is a fine name that any self respecting Tim would rightly be proud of!}

How about maurice Patrick Joseph aloysius glen for a name. Ma eld uncle what a man.

{Ed007's Note - The Maurice part has taken on evil connotations in recent years though. :p I bet he was raging back 'then'.}

Haven't really heard anything from Roberts that inclines me to think he views Celtic as anything other than plan B or C. He's been given every opportunity to talk nice about the club, but never avails himself of the opportunities. Its a shame, but I suppose he grew up watching EPL drivel so I expect he'll gravitate towards some middling outfit with zero prospects domestically or in europe.

Ed a get what u mean but u won't meet anyone who's prouder of their name, believe me. When he's had a few whiskeys, just before he sings the foggy dew wae all his heart n soul, he'll pound his heart n say his name in full. Haha he's in ma top 5 people av ever met n av met a few of the lions.

{Ed007's Note - I'm pulling your leg bud, it was that or a joke about all of you being down the Glen's one Easter morn but I didn't want to upset the panty wetters.}

Haha a know mate, a never thought any differently. Eld uncle maurie ud love him.

Happy belated birthday Ed. Meant to post yesterday but as you know at our age the mind isn't what it used to be. Hope you had a good one and your missus spoiled you?

Another Ex Player coming out and bashing the league standard - John Guidetti. Says he didn't want to stay at Celtic as he didn't like the non competition in the league. Find that really interesting as he only scored 15 goals on 35 games 😂! Maybe if the guy did less talking and more gym time he would look less like a teletubbie.

Cant really fault him tbh mick, think that's why all our players leave imo, league isn't the best but the set up is worse, can't wait till the sfa develop a braincell, might have a half decent league then.

Michael is right, he hardly set the heather on fire, don't even know what league he is now. Too many folk bash our game, look at the EPL is that value for money, is that even a competitive league, how can we expect anyone to respect our league when no one here has a good thing to say about it.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Guidetti is at Celta Vigo now and played, well he was on the pitch, against Man Utd last night. Last season he managed 12 goals in 43 apps for them and this season he's at 8 goals in 37 games.
Another waster with his trendy beard and loads of tattoos who should be playing at a much higher level if he would only apply himself and work harder at being a better player rather than working on his image.}

05 May 2017 17:09:10
What is it way runts and tattoos? My old irish grandfather would have LEATHERED any of us had we got a tattoo

Surely all that ink about your skin system cannot be good for you?

Now its trendy for females to get them? Have you seen the scheme "burdz" in there 50s with the bingo wings and there tattoo's Christ! They give you the BOAK!

Nobody realise you need to have them surgically removed?

Then you get the fud with the one round his neck area!

Your right ed, then you hear stories about top players going to china cause they're getting offered £650k per wk, surely to god they have enough money and want the prestige of wining European cups, or 1 of the top league medals, most of us would give anything to be in there position the &@"") ! 😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's a hell of a lot players out there that will play anywhere for money. They worry more about how many cars or fancy watches they have than where their team is in the league.}

05 May 2017 21:45:07
steady the buffs you i like ma tatoos helps me remember birthdays n anniversaries lol.

Agree Ed re Greedeti.

{Ed007's Note - I can never understand players who don't give it everything, look after yourself, train properly and follow expert advice - chances are these people know best or at least better than you and the rewards are mind boggling.
I've said it for years on here, Celtic might never produce a player of Ronaldo's quality or ability but thers is no reason that every single Celtic player can't be as fit as him or push themselves to those limits. We were all talking about Rooney yesterday, imagine the player he would be if he had trained and worked as hard as Ronaldo.}

Guidetti looks to be very cumbersome and has no pace. He has found his level and his lot.

Ed the problem is the culture in this country, drink wise and image as u said, a hope Rodgers can convince the young lads coming through that there'll be plenty of time to kick the arse out it when your finished wae fitba. It's a short career that's easily pissed up against a wall. The young ones want to spend a month in a real job to see how easy they've got it. A know guys (not me) that put a shift in then hit the gym for an hour or two just to get fit, these lads get paid to play the game they love then don't put the hours in to make themselves better, makes me sick to see them get upwards per week what a normal Joe gets in a year if he's lucky.
