Hope that clown Doncaster isn't prepping us for some sort of league shutdown after the comments today regarding the virus. hope Pedro is on the ball.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 17:12:10
Surely even IF they do call for the stop of playing the rest of or some of the remaining games the team that is clearly in front will be deemed winners? It's not as if it's the start of the season or the middle I could understand if it was a close run contest that's remaining after all.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 17:13:35
that statement looked that way mally. they will wait till after the game at the dome then they will try shutting us down.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 18:25:48
It's getting stupid you can't shake hands but you can fill your boots in a rugby scrum mental.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 18:55:33
The Establishment will ensure ANYTHING happens which prevents us getting to 10.

Seriously, hope it doesn't come anywhere near our football but it doesn't have boundaries.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 19:29:04
It's the large gatherings of people that is the main problem, they could just play them behind closed doors, unless some players get it, then it will be a shut down.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 19:38:45
They are talking about 'closed-doors' games being the first step and if that happens in the next two weeks we could still tie it up? However, there is a lot of pressure building from the 'Stop-The-Ten' mongers to try and force the issue with panic propaganda.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 20:04:04
There is no need for panic propaganda, you just need to look at the news from Europe and around the world to see how bad it's getting, if the European countries start shutting down their leagues we will probably do the same, but the season might be nearly over before that happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 20:45:59
A top doc tonight said that open venues because of the open air is less chance of catching ìt compared to inside venues.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 17:38:41
They are praying for it! If and it's a big if it should be whatever the club's positions are at the time. The euro places would be a stumbling block and then there's the financial loss for clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 21:44:43
Really don't understand the panic with this coronavirus the flu is worse.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - a higher %age of infected people die from coronavirus than do with flu.}

05 Mar 2020 22:01:47
The virus is a lot worse in Italy and all they are doing is playing behind closed door for the next month. There is no way the season will end early unless someone doesn't want us to win the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 22:02:57
Its scare mongering nonsense.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 23:36:44
The percentage is only higher as many cases won't be reported as will only be mild symptoms. 1000s die each year in the uk from flu. Corona virus won't kill that many in this country.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Mar 2020 01:41:08
They will only halt the season worst case senario, when it resumes it will be as you were. Nothing will stop the 10!

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Mar 2020 05:53:54
Think it's ridiculous to he even arguing about percentages or making ridiculous statements like the virus won't kill as many people as flu, the thing is this is a novel virus and no one knows how deadly it will be, but it seems to be a lot more infectious than flu, and it is airborne, meaning if you have it you can breathe it onto someone else rather than coughing it on them, you can catch it and you can be fine but you could go and visit your parents or elderly friends and relations and give it to them, and they might not survive it, anyway if it gets as bad as that all the pubs and nightclubs and restaurants will be shut down before the football matches.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2020 09:22:25
Also it’s the threat to the NHS. So many people Requiring treatment at the same time is the big problem. The medical services would not be able to cope.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2020 12:15:54
If someone throws a toilet roll from the stands just tell the SFA it's not a pitch invasion as such - just a whole section trying to nab the roll.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 15:51:53
Given our recent signings and risks with them not fitting in I would take a punt on Dykes (is he better than Bayo? ) and probably McKenna - granted he ain't a world beater but he is decent, left footed, very strong and might be a decent foil for Ajer and Julien. Hickey getting a bit of traction also, get rid of Boli and Bauer and bring him in as he can apparently play either fullback position.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 16:09:17
Chinks are u trying to level the playing field for next year. I think we've learned our lesson with hendry, hayes etc. The best of the rest aren't at our level. If mckenna was close to as good as aberdeen think he is he wouldn't still be there. Dykes is physical and nothing else. I would keep an eye on hickey right enough.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 16:15:45
Just because somebody had their cup final against us doesn’t mean they should be on our radar, if that was the case, that person keeper McGregor would be our first choice keeper, he could probably stomach the money but I doubt we could stomach him, no matter how diverse we are.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 16:24:37
Not to sure about hickey but I think we missed the boat when the boy at Leeds Douglas was available every time I see him he looks the part.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 16:45:56
Hendry was always a strange signing. So is Bayo at “our level”? As many foreign as Scottish signings fail.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 17:04:20
We're well off in the striker department but McKenna would improve at us big strong and left sided although ad be hoping for better.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 19:34:33
McKenna is a cart horse. No where near the standard we should be looking at. Same with Dykes. Bayo, Bolingoli, Hayes etc all fit into that category too.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 21:45:18
Completely agree Bigbubs.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 22:05:26
McKenna would not improve us in any way. He is a carthorse. The aberdeen fans were on twitter begging us to take him back down the road with us after our last game and are calling it a blessing in disguise that he is injured. The guy is f**king rank rotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 22:13:40
What do u not get with our level chinks? Simple really, they're not good enough as a rule, there's always an exception to the rule but we won't find 3 players in scottish football that would cut it at celtic. Dykes and mckenna definitely wouldn't improve us, hickey might reach the heights but its early days for him. Only Turnbull will be signed from our league and that depends on him regaining his form that almost got him to celtic.

Lads final post today I need a life lols
We need to score these goals. Loads of chances to Finnish 3,4,5. O but great defending and great goalkeeping saves are stopping us that's why we need two up front.
That's a few games now our opposition's goalies and defenders have looked amazing and stopped us yes riding there luck. Maybe if our forward get more creative and score pressure is off our defence. our defence would do better as some teams get confident when we don't score and start to come out livi is one of these teams. Put these teams to bed early job done.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 15:21:31
We have lost 4 games this season and with the draw on Wednesday all these defeats have came against teams with a strong rough centre forward. Add a tall rough defence / midfield staying deep in there half attacking on the break.

We need a different tactics when playing these teams. Also different players recruited to give us options.

A tall strong battling CF {Sutton/ Hartson} like and central defenders {Balde} who are prepared to smash through their attackers Maybe even a Wanwamya like midfielder.

Sometime winning is the important thing and not how we play.

05 Mar 2020 13:17:33
I might be a bit overly harsh here but please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't really see much in elyounoussi?

Granted he was injured for a bit but I can honestly only recall 2 games he's made much of an impact, the 2-0 game at home to cluj and against hibs at Hampden, I understand Lennon starting him last night to try and give the lad a bit of game time and confidence but he just reminds me of stuart Armstrong, decent quality but lazy and picks and chooses when to turn up, we got a good 7 months out Armstrong over 3 and a half years and that was the 2016/ 17 season.

I think Lennon needs to stick with the 3-5-2 as edouard thrives off having someone to play next to and he can link up the play far better with, we're a different animal with this system compared to the predictable 4-2-3-1. I hope to the heavens he plays him and griff at ibrox next weekend!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 13:26:49
He was very impressive for a few games before the injury, but has really struggled for form and has lost the confidence he had before.
I remember before the winter break there several posts suggesting we go for him permanently to replace Sinclair. Christie is still getting back to his best after his injury and Elyounnoussi was out longer than him so he may come good again? At the end of the day, he will probably be going back to Southampton at the end of the season, but if he help us to retain our trophies in the meantime, all the better?

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 13:34:31
Agreed. He looked good at the start of the season- arguably our best player. Hasn't looked the same since his injury. Might just need more game time though.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 17:41:06
Previous to injury he had 6 goals and 7 assists from 13 games, pretty good by anyone's standards.

I know there are a few boxing fans on here so thought I would share.

Recently came across a podcast called Hotboxin. One of the presenters is Mike Tyson and he gets boxers in and talks to them about their life.

Have only watched 3 so far but they have been great.

The date for the Scottish cup semi final has been confirmed. It will be played on Easter Sunday the 12th April, with a 3pm kick off.
It will be 208 weeks since we last lost a domestic cup game. It took Sevco 208 weeks to go through the leagues. From their first league game at Peterhead to their first league game in the top flight.

This is the way some people were talking about who we would get after the Copenhagen game, don't count your chickens and all that.

05 Mar 2020 13:39:04
What are you talking about Aindoh.
I am only stating a fact, it can’t be taken from us. Celtic have already qualified for the semi finals and the game WILL be played on Easter Sunday. I don’t get what you mean about counting our chickens.

What happened to Big Jullien last night? He looked like a scared little boy last night! I'm a massive fan since he came to the club especially with some of the crucial goals he has scored but last night my god he was dire. That boy Lyndon Dyes (spelling) looks a player. HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 10:54:56
Big FF got in a flap for the first one - but we do seem to have problems with physical front-men as I see both Jullien and Ajer as more of a 'footballing' centre half and not a stopper like Bobo etc.
When you look at the big picture, their strengths far outweigh the weaknesses as we are unbeaten domestically in 13; goals = 36 F and 8 A
If we persist with the 3 at the back, I would like to see Simo replaced with a more fit and physical defender along with a quality right back as El Hamed has been very unreliable.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 11:02:16
If we get another quality cb and keep forster and either sign moi or a decent replacement along with keeping the core of the team ie eddy the 10s a cert.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 12:10:15
Think Scotland should get that Lyndon Dukes guy signed up for the national team.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 12:57:41
He's Australian.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 13:57:01
He can choose scotland or Australia bigbubs. Apparently meeeting rene muelenstein today so will probably choose Australia.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 16:12:17
He already said Australia was his preference so how could he then play for anyone else? Not that I care but it just wouldn't work.

Taylor v boli.
I just think boli offers more and he cuts in gd passer and can dribble also. Ye his crossing is sus a little but over all game. I think a we switch is in order just to see the difference. I like boli. Where is he tho.
It was a hard fought draw so well done Celtic few no shows tho.
Julienne dies not like getting tired up he can't give it back?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 10:56:12
Apparently Boli has had a fallout with NL after dropping behind Hayes in the pecking order?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 11:31:15
He won’t be kicking a ball for us anytime soon. Out the door in the summer so forget about him, Taylor in place and somebody new in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 11:55:52
Ye did not know that.
Wonder where it went wrong as he was a regular.
So we move on now.
Right need a hard centre back to help jullien and ajer to tighten up. Who we thinking then there is talent in defence in Scotland keep in home grown. Livi, Hamilton, Ross county etc they seem to stop our attacking play. Or is it just a case of stop Celtic at all costs lols.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 12:59:33
Bolingoli had his chance and did not impress. Taylor deserves to be given to the end of the season but again isn't really impressing. I expect to see Bolingoli and Hayes gone and the end of the season and a new LB brought in to challenge Taylor.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 13:04:24
MELLING from Rosenborg looked a player anytime Iv seen him.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 13:05:30
Hit send to early or Hickey from Hearts would be ideal for LB.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 13:58:59
Bolingoli is horrendous. can't tackle can't pass can't cross. Caught out of position numerous times. Never a defender in a million years and not good enough to be a winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2020 07:04:41
Massive bonus last night, had they won we would not be a happy bunch this morning. Just a matter of time now for 9 and hopefully the management team are looking at how we can strengthen to make it 10. We do need a commanding CH, especially if we play 3-5-2. And we need a clear out.

Bayo, Boli, Jozo, Gordon, Arzani (end loan) , Shved, Bauer (end loan) , Moi (end loan) . Time will tell with Klimala and Soro but early signs not good that neither are anywhere near the team and behind some of the aforementioned players that are not good enough. And get FF signed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Mar 2020 08:55:54
Klimala and soro will feature more next season we doubted Taylor due to the time it took getting him in now look at him. don't think we can write them off without seeing them.

I often wonder how much anyone on these chats actually played football.
Football is not an easy game. Games are meant to be difficult. Opponents do try to compete and beat you. So over the course of the season if you can maintain consistency then you are a top team. What Celtic are doing game on game, year on year is not easy by any means.

Season after season, minimal defeats.
Not easy. People who have played the game appreciate that.
