Loans are not always good for football.
Loans to give a youngster play time in front of spectators can be beneficial.
Loans can also be beneficial to put youngsters on the market hoping for a buyer . The vast majority of our loans fall into this category .
Loans to put managers mistakes out of sight also happens . Typical example is Scott Allan, u can be sure BR doesn't want a previous manager's mistake every day on his training pitch.

Scott Allan wasn't a previous managers mistake. Ronny never wanted him.

Kev83 . How do you know that? Surely if Ronny was a manager at all he would have not let him in the gate . Instead he welcomed him with open arms, brought him on in Europe, only for S A to run out for a short corner and when the ball was played to him he turned his back and let the opposition run down and score .
If Ronny really didn't want him he would have left him in the stands that night.

So you honestly think that RD wanted Kazim Richards? It was common knowledge that Parks was the ones signing the players.

Tompo88.
Common knowledge is more likely to be wrong than right .
I have nothing against R D but I have to say he had Charleton Cole training for weeks on end& my God we have made some rare buys but C C had to be one of the worse& I don't think R D can hide behind commmonbknowl doe.

Over seen a lot of sour grapes on social media about us always hoovering up all the young Scottish talent and leaving them to rot which I really don't agree with. The only genuine youngster I can think of recently is Ryan Christie and when folk start citing Scott Allan as an example you know they're talking p*sh. I do, however, really hope that Lewis Morgan is given a fair crack of the whip when he comes in the summer. HH.

How exactly have we left Christie or Allen or any other youth to rot. Christie plays every week. Allan we have found more than one club to take him on loan. Also a quite high number our youth out at smaller clubs throughout the Scottish leagues.
Plus would the likes of Aberdeen Dundee and the like be able to afford these players without us paying bi g chunks of their wages?

{Ed007's Note - Kev on Kev action!! Are you brothers? You've got the same name...

Morgan in Compper too I would like to c another CH in but in order for that to happen I recon one or two may have to leave. U would live to c a number 10 brought in creative spark but let's c. ED with the team going to Dubai do u think players who are looking for other clubs will travel or stay at home?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd imagine that'll depend on where they are in negotiations with other teams and personal situations.}

06 Jan 2018 07:47:10
What I am trying to determine is when I see the squywho have traveled will that indicate who is leaving the club?

@Kev83 I said in my post that I disagree with the accusation. I mentioned Christie because he’s the only player we’ve picked up from another Scottish team who was very young, guys like Allan, GMS, even going back to Riordan we’re in their mid 20’s with well over 100 games under their belts.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2018 12:08:32
We are going to sign good young players like Christie and Morgan for next to nothing and let them out on loan until they become first team level players so we don’t need to spend the 4m we might possibly pay for Mcginn. It’s not like we’re Man City or Chelsea wasting players away the amount of players Chelsea have put on loan is disgusting!

Seen that Dani Gomez has refused a contract at Real Madrid B team, We were linked with him in summer for a fee of around 3 million. Newspapers in Spain are saying he is available for a cut price, surely worth a shot as he scored 7 in the uefa youth league this year. Could be ideal replacement for dembele for a great price and fits our transfer structure as could have a great sell on value.

I watched a few of his highlights when the links started appearing. Then a fresh set when the links reappeared. Imo he is a million miles away from being ready to face cl or el quality defenders. looks ok at u19 level.

Was talking on the phone last night to a friend who is a Chelsea fan, I mentioned the boy Musonda to him and he told me the boy is a great prospect with lots of talent and lighting speed, but the only thing holding him back, in the EPL anyway, is that he is fairly small about 5feet 5inches and slightly built. So do not know how he would cope with the physical side of the game up here, if we signed him on loan.

Roberts managed just fine n he's hardly built like a bull. If he's good wrought he'll be fine.

He will really have to up his game if he wants to take Sinclair's spot. I see him as a squad player for that reason and will compete with benyou.

I know a couple of St Mirren season ticket holders, who’ve been raving about him all season.

I don't think he is any better than GMS to be honest. I believe he will go the same way get a few games not establish himself and be moved on. If you look at GMS now with Aberdeen he looks great but was lost at Celtic as so many are. Not a purchase i would have made.

Ed any idea what the rule is on loaning player to other SPL teams?

Is it just the 1 player you can loan to fellow SPL team for the season, or is it just that window?

Wouldn't mind seeing Kouassi going somewhere like Hibs but not sure whether Christie being at Aberdeen would prevent this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - You can loan as many players as you like to other clubs as long as it's only 1 per team to teams in the same division.}

05 Jan 2018 14:22:06
What about this loan kouassi to Hibs let him and MC Ginn get used to each then buy MC Ginn in the summer?

I don’t agree about the syndrome but we certainly have not only stalked but looked worse.

Looking as if that pile of dross across the city could beat us at home demonstrates that clearly.

He failed to sort out the stuff needing sorted in the summer and we have suffered for it. Our shite defence got even shitier and we have brought in a cup tied 33 tear old.

I’m hoping we break our habit of being tight arsed and hesitant is over.

Yeah right. .

I am worried that BR is suffering from second season syndrome. He is beginning to react to criticism of his signings by defending them no matter what and condemning those others suggest he should have bought.
He is also trying to vindicate any and all tactics employed and shielding those players he likes.
Everyone has to learn from their mistakes and in his first season he was prepared to drop any who did not preform that ruthless streak must return if he is to win in Europe.

Mibi getting pissed off heating how the likes of signing Dorrans jack and world beater Jamie Murphy are wonderful or mibi he’s doing what good managers do and back there players publicly if he started to slate his players publicly the dressing room would be in uproar and he would be finished. BR is a clever guy.

05 Jan 2018 11:30:24
Second season syndrome wff? It's not even a thing just a phrase made up to suit some unhappy Liverpool fans after the season they had after the near miss. Jumped on by Sevco fans as they never do anything original. Most of the managers in the prem suffer from first season syndrome if the above is a thing. Still top of the league won a cup in Europe. We all commented on how the team has not been as consistent but we are winning everything so far? Don't fear for BR we have a better manager now than he was when Liverpool got him. Fact. but to come out with what you did is very poor imo. Fickle.

05 Jan 2018 11:46:47
Don't know where this 2nd season mince comes from ( seed planted by UJ) rodgers 2nd season with liverpool was the closest they have come to winning EPL, need to change it to end of third season syndrome as that's when it started to go downhill.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jan 2018 13:31:18
Never heard as much drivel since UJ last posted. If this is 2nd season syndrome I"ll take it every season. Healthy lead at top of league, first trophy won, CL qualification and in Europe in February. Think Jonace has been taken in by clowns like UJ and his likes.

Agree2 Disagree2

05 Jan 2018 14:01:17
He has conducted himself impeccably since he arrived, amidst sniping from ex-players and 'know-f-all-pundits'about our CL record - even though we are the only club in the country that is in any shape or stature to play in Europe in any shape or form (and have been for many years) .
One poor performance and disappointing result against Sevco had the hun-media foaming at the mouth and hailing Murty The Messiah, but realistically, let's get things into perspective.

BR is in the remarkable situation of winning a treble - undefeated - in his first term, so it was always going to be well nigh impossible to better perfection, or replicate it this season?
We have had a string of injuries and form lapses, all season, but have still managed to lose only one competitive game all season, win (defend) our first trophy, qualify for the EL and stand 8 points clear at the top of the league. Yes, we have not played as well as last season; but that could be down to certain players having 'second season syndrome? '

Hopefully the winter break and transfer window, will refresh, recharge and recover our efforts in 2018 and we can enjoy another season of great football, players on top of their game and more success on and off the pitch.
It's one of the best times in our history so just enjoy it guys.

Agree8 Disagree1

05 Jan 2018 17:30:38
imo BR was sold-out by the board. He had a man who was a game changer in Suarez and they let him go.

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Jan 2018 18:31:32
So if you describe it as "second season syndrome" What would you describe Delias second season? Our token hun is a wee mod going through a mid life crisis. New manager syndrome will explain McCoist over to you Kenny who passes it onto McCall who drops it and the journey is set back a year! In comes the next England manager in waiting but Warburton is outed as a fraud and resigned (allegedly). In comes the poor man's Mourinho with his amigos.

Sadly he has departed. His sound bites where a joy to behold. Next up is Murty for his second stint. Im sure whoever's next in line will continue the comedy roadshow lurching from one disaster to another!

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jan 2018 18:46:01
This second season syndrome is a real pain in the arse . One domestic defeat in about forty games, still in Europe, won cup already won and 8 pts clear at the top of the table . Is it any wonder the fans are moaning and groaning in the stands when they witness just how far the team has regressed .
The only reason B R will leave us within four years is that he is fed up with the moaning and groaning and abuse by fans of his players .
