Ed have you heard anything about young Ralston in a serious crash earlier.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No mate.}

Usual it’s all over this area that he’s been involved in a crash with a fatality. God forbid.

{Ed007's Note - 🙏 Hopefully that's not true and everyone's OK.}

Ralston was not injured in the crash didn't require treatment.
Dont know if anyone else was injured in accident.
Hopefully not.

Most of the older Celtic fans have always felt that the vast majority of referees were against us over the years, but we were always ridiculed and told we we paranoid.
Now I think it has got to a stage with Celtic dominating scottish football, something drastic had to be done because the decisions this season alone are on a different level and it too obvious now to just us being paranoid.
I hope the Lanarkshire referees association will get dismantled eventually but I can't see them replacing John Fleming while there is still a chance Of Celtic winning 10 in a row.
He has been given a mission and he will be allowed to see if he can help prevent us from making history.
We all know there has been very few Celtic fans who have made top grade referees in scotland. The one I could never get my head round is Wullie Collum, an RE teacher in a roman catholic school. It dosent add up with what has went before us in the last 50 and more years.
It turns out Fleming has known Collum since he was 14 years old. Fleming was then the developing officer for the famous Lanarkshire refs. So you could say Fleming has groomed Collum over the years and turned him into the referee he is today which would helps me understand why Collum was the exception to the rule.

I am one of those more-mature supporters who could rhyme off many suspects over the past five decades. However, I don't think I have seen such a concentrated and concerted effort to influence games.
This has been done by allocating 'teams' of known Sevco sympathizers with a referee. linesman and fourth official at most of our away games, who have an agenda and mission of disruption - the video evidence of violent tackles, off-the-ball incidents and dubious decisions are there for all to see.
However; The amount of questionable decisions are not limited to major incidents and are consistently applied to almost every 50/ 50 decision, especially free kicks that are waved play-on.
The four penalty game at Ibrox could also be seen as a helping hand in goal-difference to a team struggling to score against bottom side and the Defoe dive has since been admonished, proving also that even when video evidence of any infringement, simulation, or violenct act conveniently missed by a referee, is passed for review with a view to rectify mistakes, it is totally admonished and condoned by a panel of said-same dishonest cheats.

A bit of a weird comment here, and goes against everything that most folks believe, so please take it easy with the responses.

Is there proof that John Fleming’s a Rangers fan like most people are insinuating? I only ask because i think I used to deliver his papers and always got the opposite impression. Maybe it’s a different John Fleming, but he was a referee too, and that just seems uncannot.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 23:42:06
Are you saying Collum should be biased towards us? Surely that undermines your ramblings?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2019 04:56:45
You say I am rambling on about referees yet you want Celtic to release a statement about conspiracies regarding those same refs.
Celtic don't need help from referees and it's embarrassing when the odd decision does go in our favour, but its obvious to me just now scottish football chiefs are desperate to have a title race and make scottish football more of a spectacle than a showjumping sport.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2019 07:17:55
No Leon I don't want Celtic to release a statement saying there is a conspiracy! I said Celtic won't release a statement saying there is a conspiracy.

This season has been the worst i can remember for poor decisions against us and decisions not given to us just recently you've had the nonsense from el buffalo there was a good goal against Airdrie there was a blatant hand ball last wed there was Sundays 3 pen claim none given, and sevco have had all that's going this isn't a level playing field but the sfa are sweeping it under the carpet the evidence is right in front of them.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Feb 2019 12:47:04
The whole referee saga is tedious.

Regardless of ‘rangers supporting’ refs and Masonic conspiracy theories, Celtic should have more than enough to beat what’s in front (or below) us.

Don’t waste you energy worrying about dated old relics and their secret societies. Who cares?

Uefa meeting tomorrow to discuss scrapping the away goals rule at some stage in the future. It says in the report its for the Champions league but I would imagine it would also mean future europa league ties.
In the past Celtic have suffered plenty when it came to away goals, the amount of times we were knocked out as a result. I think beating Celta Vigo on the road to Seville was our first success on away goals, some 30 odd years after it was introduced.

I think Steve Clarke in the media yesterday, did his "interview" to replace Brendan when he eventually leaves.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Appointing Clarke would be a huge backwards step and I'm hoping the Club are aiming a lot higher than that but knowing our luck - and board - it'll be Clarke and Scott Brown.}

05 Feb 2019 15:22:31
Got to agree Ed; As much as I admire Clarke and what he has done; I reckon when you progress from NL - through RD - to then land BR, we have now set a higher standard of expectation, class and ability.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 15:44:26
Clarke is someone I'd settle for if We couldn't get our top targets but we should be shooting for the stars when going for the next gaffer.
My choice would be rafa Benitez.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You've said him a few times, Kev. We could do worse imo.

05 Feb 2019 15:47:01
Who in your opinion Ed, Would you like to see in charge if and when Brendan leaves?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd LOVE to see Marcelo Bielsa come in and Solskjaer seems to have learnt from his mistakes at Cardiff. More importantly for me I think once Rodgers does leave we need to bring in a DOF to run the overall footballing department and oversee the longer term development of it, someone to take Lawwell completely out of footballing decisions except for the financial side.}

05 Feb 2019 16:42:45
Clarke can organise a team better than BR ever could, you just have to watch Killie when they don't have the ball you can Clarke knows his stuff!

The problem with a dof is they interfere too much with managers and it causes bad blood. I know it's a way a lot of clubs do it but it never worked for us before.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 17:38:33
Truth is Celtic fans don't rate defensive football.

Clarke's achievement won't be credited due to him being at Killie

But he's came through coaching with the best.

Could Rodgers have achieved the same at Killie? Not in my opinion.

Rodgers style of football is perfect for dominant sides but when it's even games we have witnessed the gaps in defence and had numerous hammerings or sloppy nights in Europe.

Strachan was similar to Clarke.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 16:42:49
I think he's one of the best in the world ed. Think he is so under rated. Look what he's managing to do right now with that basket case of a club.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a good shout, Kev.}

05 Feb 2019 16:57:48
ED007 I am surprised you never went for the perennial loser Poch at Tottenham.
Interesting you mention Solskjaer 6 weeks ago people would have laughed at you.
Clarke has plied his trade in England learning the ropes and now up here, to my mind he can more than hold his own in management and seems very adapt at man management.
I would take him in a heartbeat.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If I wanted someone that would Hibs it I'd have went for Klopp. Btw I wouldn't put any money on Clarke ever being Celtic manager.}

05 Feb 2019 19:48:22
Tell you what he'd make a fantastic number 2 to Rogers. Someone that brings something totally different to the table.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 19:52:51
I think BR is going to be around for a good few years so I think it’s premature to be thinking about his successor. However, if and when the time does come, I think Steve Clarke would be an outstanding appointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Clarke turns 56 this year, he's never managed any teams playing in Europe and apart from his time at Kilmarnock he spent a year - nearly - as manager of Reading in the English Championship and 18 months at WBA in the Pub League where he left them in 16th place and had a record of 9 wins in 41 league games.
Clarke should have been brought in as Deila's assistant instead of Collins but it would be a massive step backwards to go from Brendan Rodgers to Clarke and like Ronny I doubt he could handle the magnitude of the job.
Basically we'd be bringing in a near 60-year old rookie manager.}

05 Feb 2019 20:50:39
So Timalloy when is the change taking place then. Last I looked Brendan was comfortably in charge with no hint of leaving at any time.
In my own humble opinion; posts that have wild speculation only serve to help the Media and our dtractors, unsettle our great Club.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 20:54:43
Rafa would be my choice and I have no doubt he would consider it having seen BR do so well.
Also, that eejit he works with just now would be an incentive to get out. That said, I think BR will need a good offer and a decent team in EPL before leaving us.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 20:58:22
You make some good points there Ed. My guess is that his success at Kilmarnock comes as a result of learning from previous experiences and with the budget he’s got, it’s an incredible achievement. By the time BR does decide to leave, he might have gained some European experience but, of course, he will also be older.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 21:07:52
I would need more convincing of S Clarke's ability to have his team attacking and successful . With our current emphasis on youth, Brown would seem to be an ideal assistant for whoever is manager, maybe Duff or someone from outside of Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 21:37:08
Steve Clarke is at a level where he is best suited. He has had one good season as manager and anything could happen with Kilmarnock between now and end of season as I suspect they have peaked and will slide down table along with a few other suspect teams.

Also was not so long ago we absolutely destroyed them at home, if he was that good he would of altered tactics to limit damage. Another crucial point is Kilmarnocks pitch. Has given them a bit of an advantage. With this in mind is he really that good a manager? A great number 2 but not a manager as his past posts show a win rate of less than 36% so there is no danger he will ever be Celtic manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Feb 2019 01:07:49
I agree Rafa would be a great appointment I don't ever see it happening to be fair as we would regurgitate the same old names as always within the price range we would be willing to pay Lambert McKay coyle McCarthy and the likes God I'm giving myself the fear even typing this so I for one will just enjoy having Brendan whilst he's here I think no matter who we would appoint after Brendan leaves would be enough to still dominate domestically do I'd be hoping for someone with a bit of experience of teaching the latter stages of Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2019 01:09:38

06 Feb 2019 13:22:08
Can you imagine the drama the spy gate would cause if we had Bielsa in charge. Great manager mind you would do wonders in our league. Rafa would galvanise us in Europe. Agree although Clarke is doing a great job with average players but agree we should be looking at a similar stature of manager to Rodgers when he leaves.

05 Feb 2019 10:40:01
So the Daily record today published their 9 worst reffing decisions of the season so far.
NOT ONE of the decisions they pick are ones that went in rangers favour.
Funny that eh?

Ps 1st one mentioned was Celtic getting a penalty 😂😂.

05 Feb 2019 10:59:05
You probably noticed that this is an attempt by the media (no doubt prompted by the SFA) to try and control the argument.

They are trying to say that the referees just are not very good and/ or make mistakes. They are deliberately trying to avoid people talking about bias and corruption within the governing body.

While I accept that refs make mistakes and this is always going to be the case, this is deflecting away from the real issue here, which is why are most of our referees supporters of one club in Scotland and why are all 4 officials fans of the team they are officiating in a game against their biggest rivals?

05 Feb 2019 11:54:43

I would like to share one of my favourite sayings with my fellow posters, which I think is very apt with the current referee bias and corruption within the SFA being discussed at present.

The saying is as follows:

"The term conspiracy theory is often used to prevent institutional analysis. "

When I get accused of being a conspiracy theorist I just outline facts and quote this saying to them and then ask my accusser what their thoughts are on the facts I have presented to them and why they would want to avoid institutional analysis. This is often enough to either shut them up or rethink their current position.

Fair play to Tom Boyd who on the back of Steve Clarke has also now called out refereeing bias in Scotland. "When I watch games, Celtic's in particular, they are not offering protection of Celtic players. "I've seen two waist-high challenges on Edouard this season and neither was deemed to be a foul. That's not acceptable. There is something way wrong with the standard of officiating just now. "It needs to be addressed, and the only solution is to bring in the kind of neutral referees who came in a few years ago and did well. ".

This is the hottest topic in Scottish football at the moment and I sincerely hope honest and assertive people in power act promptly before the dust settles and expose/ oust these bigots.
They harp on about 'Respect' for referees and how difficult a job they have; but if there was more transparency, integrity and truth practiced from the establishment, it would benefit the majority and not the minority it currently exists to benefit and prosper.

If Celtic as a football club don't come out ALL guns blazing when incidents of a serious nature or blatant mistakes by officials take place like getting to be every second game we are playing. I see ex referee Steve Conroy is saying that he was the only top flight ref that supported Celtic and all the rest were Rangers' fans.

The people responsible for this need the boot and we need to start the whole process again and introduce full transparency if we are going to get rid of this bias in future.

My Celtic supporting brother in law was a low grade referee who trained with the lanarkshire refs. He mentioned there was plenty of young refs in the system good enough to make the top grade but were stopped getting to the top because they supported Celtic.
This was a guy who always sticks up for refs, he would have said baby D got all the decisions correct on Saturday.
I wasnt surprised about what he was saying many years ago, only surprised it was coming from him. that's when I knew it was a really bad situation which won't get better as it stands.
RAW I agree with you, we need a change from the top, so I would replace John Fleming because the standard is really bad under his watch.
They could change the way they run the Lanarkshire referee association which received bad reviews on the Paul Larkin Anyone But Celtic documentary.

My old man worked with Steve craven. He was the lines man that along with dougie McDonald changed thier minds on giving us a penalty then lied about why.
He told the truth about it and was the only one every punished. Banned from running the line at ANY level of football.
He was a Celtic fan. He told my dad that there is a glass ceiling for anyone that is a Celtic fan in that job.

Kev83 celtic fans who are officials only get to run the line or referee lower league matches, whatever system the Lanarkshire referees association are applying needs changed forever.
They could do a lot worse than employing Craven and Conroy to help start from scratch.

When you have the heads of the SFA (Campbell Ogilvie, Jim Farry, Stuart Regan, et al) blatently helping Rangers or hindering Celtic. Then this only proves that this bias/ corruption goes right to the top of our game and we need the clear out to start at the top and filter down.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 11:16:56
With regards to the refereeing topic I am of an age (70) where over the years I have witnessed some obscene decisions against Celtic too many to detail, all by let’s say not Celtic minded officials. On the other side of the coin decisions by Celtic minded officials in favour of Celtic were hounded out.1965 league cup final v rangers Hugh Phillips awarded Celtic two penalties in a 2-1 victory never saw him again. 1967 match v rangers at Celtic Park when Jim Callaghan never ordered John Hughes off sacked.

In the 1980s Kevin O’Donnell allowed a controversial late Celtic winner v Hearts sacked and only found out when my nephew who he taught informed him that it was in the press. James O’Hare a linesman who lives a few doors from me sacked after flagging for a decision that didn’t suit his bosses, sacked. Well done to Steve Conroy for his comments, and have you noticed Willie Collum hasn’t been in charge of a rangers game since they complained about him. don't build your hopes up of it ever changing, after all those years of hoping it would it won’t. oldkilly.

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Feb 2019 12:10:58
I agree that things won't change if there is no pressure applied. The only way we will see change if there is a fan movement, comprising of fans from a wide range of clubs. This movement have to put pressure on their clubs, like we saw when they tried to shoe horn newco into the spfl and the issue has to be politicised. It won't be a quick process but it can be done if there are enough motivated people.

If I was in charge of Celtic I would hire private investigators to get all the dirt on the sfa and current crop of refs and use it to bring down this house of cards. Then I would use our clubs influence to sway the other clubs to help introduce transparency and put measures in place to ensure this corruption never comes back.
