The great Stillian petrov has officially announced his retirement from playing.

I personally wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.
On the pitch he was an incredible player and off it he's inspired many with his fighting spirit.

Just watched a half hour set of highlights from yesterday's game. That was some amount of shots we had flying in. I was very impressed with some of the passing moves. Tam Rogic is quality, great to see him on for a 90 min shift. Fingers crossed for more.

Some cheeky tackles flying abou too, got to love the Scottish game! Well done bhoys.

Haha the Scottish game?, did you see aguero's tackle on David Luis? That was a man's tackle!

That was not a tackle, that was an assault.
People have done time for less. lol.

To be fair bhoys i think a lot of people would like to crunch Luis!

He went in with all intentions of injuring Luis but mid air and mid tackle he decided against it, tried to pull away. think it could've been a lot worse.

Looks like we will be bringing in or hope to be bringing in more than one player this opening do you guys think they will be squad players or first team and if first team what position?

Tony2B: Must be a 1st team player, we have more than enough squad players to fill a bus, let alone a subs bench.
The only difficulty is getting the actual player you want.

The ideal scenario would be to get rid of 5, 6, 7 of the guys we don't need and use the money to pay 2 or 3 guys with higher quality. In January that's a very difficult thing to do though.

I agree with you on that but looking at the team not sure what position needs stenthend the most? For a first team player being realistic who do you leave out Gordon? Or go for a better box to box player? Or both?

We have good track record in January window so I expect 1-2 1st team signings.

BR must know who/ what type of player he wants, I she looking to get a perm replacement for PR as I think he is looking to get GMS fit for that position (no cost) , So for me it has to be a Mid player and a top class 1 at that.

For me I want B R to buy one or two players who would be amongst the top five players in our squad come the summer . If we we can move on four or five players that Brendan has no intention of playing all the better.

I agree with you there, Oldbhoy, would be much better with a much smaller first team pool, some managers are obsessedw wiwith squad rotation, and having a big pool of players means they change the team every week, just so members of the pool get a game, to the detriment of teamwork and team bonding, I know you previously supported this crazy squad rotation system, and maybe you still do, I wouldn't be in the least surprised.

For me the question is
-will we make the CL with the current squad?
-do we gamble on the answer being yes in order to attract a better player with the prospect of CL football.
-is there anyone available and willing to come who would raise the standard of play?

For example if we signed a CM (the box to box type) would that me Stuart Armstrong would be benched? Or would it be better to wait and see if Armstrong can do the business?

I reckon a first pick keeper would benefit the squad
And I would love to see a permanent contract for pay roberts.

Think we probsbly have more than enough at the moment, think the only thing we lack is a creative midfield player, can't remember his name but he was egyptian and played for basle a few years ago, someone lije him, the only thing is cover for injuriesi think big what's his name, will be a superstar, if he can stay clear of injuries, but I think Brendan might have a surprise orvtwo up his sleeve.

IMO for the league we are more than covered just being honest But for a run in Europe we need to strengthen we won't win the cups but we could have a decent run by strengthening now.
