best part of the day apart from the match for me was hayley mcqueen presenting the coverage, hope its a permanent transfer and tanners been demoted to the regional frisbee throwing championships . if hayleys presenting it im sure viewing figures will shoot up, amongst other things ;)

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - The things I would do to Hayley McQueen would turn your stomach!}

Yeah ditto mate.

Easy bhoys this is a family show 😉.

Thats the one thing i wouldn't do. keep it clean😉.

It was a great surprised to see Hayley presenting the game, thought it was great, now we just need Natalie Sawyer as co presenter.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 10:41:00
She's bang average Ed. Pretty in her own way but she's no SuBo :-) HH.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - You'll go to the bad fire for that kind of talk! Imagine they did bring SuBo in a a Scottish football presenter though?}

06 Aug 2017 11:36:14
Natalie Sawyer was she no in the Walton's beside you already Jonbhoy? :-P

No mate Katie Abdoo, she would get a cuddle :-)

06 Aug 2017 12:14:00
Just got caught googling Hadley mcqueen on her fone there so cheers for that lads. Bob she might be bang average in your eyes but she'd get an average bang fae me 👍.

06 Aug 2017 12:24:46
I think Cheryl Cole should be on tv presenting every show on every channel all day long. As long as she doesn't speak there'd be no complaints from me. lol HH.

First time on, what are thoughts on Craig Gordon today.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

05 Aug 2017 21:56:31
His beard looks like a junkies carpet.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - lmfao

05 Aug 2017 22:21:08
Needs replaced by a goalkeeper.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - His distribution is horrendous and seems to cause constant problems for our defence. I'm not going to comment on his howler today as I'm not that surprised by it and it's just me going over the same old ground I have since he signed.
A 'keeper is an absolute must next summer at the very latest.}

06 Aug 2017 09:58:44
His passing against Rosenborg was atrocious lost count the number of times he kicked the ball out of play or put our defenders under pressure with stupid balls. We won't get away with giving possession away so cheaply against better opposition.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 10:14:47
Next summer? It's the only position that has kept fit. The glass man seems bulletproof these days.

07 aug 2017 17:43:08
Haha bhoywonder good answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 21:23:20
Andy Walker. Andy Walker, what game did you watch today.?
Said nothing about the quality of the pass from Bitton, and said that Callum's goal was right in the corner. it was straight down the middle.
I know he's one of our but he does my head in.
Good team performance, good team display, onward and upward. HH.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

05 Aug 2017 23:12:13
He is not one of our own. He is a 30 pieces of silver Judas p***k.

Agree3 Disagree1

06 Aug 2017 09:23:22
Was it not andy walker who was screaming " terrible tackle "! " foul " at big jozo's world class challenge on Kenny Miller 🤔🤔🤔.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 09:47:28
He sooks all the goodness out of every goal by discussing on what the defence shoukd have done. He does my tits in. I mute him. He should be celebrating the goal. Isn't that the point of football? Then look at how he would have stopped it.

A total downer of an annoying cant.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 10:15:14
I'd put him up there with the worst purely for his judas angle which to be honest is the only angle he has now to make a buck. Switch off his commentary and do yourself a favour. It's laughable. If celtic TV pundits give you the odd cringe with their power positivity. This lad may as well go walking these days as he would be more welcome there with the pi$h he spouts.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 11:39:00
He's hopeless imo. dreary, dull and got no idea at all.

Hi, not posted for a while. Does anyone else think Armstrong has now made his mind up to wait till January and sign a pre-contract with someone? . Hail Hail.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2017 21:58:44
Lawell would never let it happen mate, i thought the bhoy had his head screwed on but if he's messing about id get shot of him, ntchem looks more than capable imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 22:23:20
If the contract is not done by middle of the month he will be gone. Not impressed with him or Sinclair so far this season.

I was thinking the same Johnny, if he hasn't signed he will be sold before the window shuts.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 13:18:56
A hope Armstrong stays but a won't be losing any sleep if he moves on. As long as he's not allowed to leave at the end of his contract, sign up now or leave now.

So the Daly boy is not happy with Brendan get your a Temp, nobody is interested in your opinion or sly digs at a Celtic manager. a proper manager, So know your place lassie.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

05 Aug 2017 23:09:08
I think he's trying to portray himself as a no nonsense leader, so he can get the job. Unfortunatly he is what he is, a fat washed up ex pro who sold his soul for promised riches that weren't there. Im sure his parents are proud.

Agree4 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 08:29:35
Rodgers had an opinion on a question he was asked and gave it, and by the way I think most hearts fans would've agreed with his comments. That clown Daly making out he'd only heard about the comments on the day of the game. Don't believe that for a second. His rant after the game yesterday was only to deflect away from the fact that his team got pumped yet again by Celtic and the scoreline should've been a lot more. Daly should be more concerned about that than what Brendan Rodgers had to say about hearts.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 10:29:54
Daly made a complete arse of himself and is clearly not suited to being a manager. It was a rant that suggested psychological problems and a failure to take his meds to control them.

Humiliatingly embarrassing.

The expression Bellend comes to mind.

Don't want to be negative about today's result. But Gordon's blunder along with his shocking distribution has got me worried about the Astana tie. I can see him costing us by doing something stupid. I can't believe he is still considered our #1 keeper. He isn't anywhere near good enough for Celtic.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Ach well that makes a change from the lack of CBs or strikers I suppose, oh and the distance the players have to travel.}

06 Aug 2017 02:51:29
but what about our lack of cbs and strikers - and the distance they have to travel?

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 10:13:32
Anybody else feel when Gordon does collect, he never let's go of the ball quick enough, holding up our attack.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 20:05:26
Evening all,
The build up for the LG 2nd goal today was fantastic. If that goal was scored in the EPL Sly Sports would have it as the Headline News!
With the Astana game just round the corner I feel Griffiths and McGregor will have a major part to play and they must be fit.
So my question is:
Do we rest them for the next couple of games?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2017 02:52:27
or do we let them get sharper in less important games?

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 20:03:20
Thought ntcham looked the part today think when he's up to speed he will be a cracking player but what's ppeoples take on armstrong would you play him or not with his contract situation i like him but personally don't think his heads in right place at moment and if we get a bid i think ad sell.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2017 20:15:00
Dez, I agree with you on Armstrong. I will be sad to see him go but at the end of the day I want players who want to play for the club.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 20:57:10
Well how many berths are there? you ain't paying the money Ntcham cost and not playing him it looks like SA is the natural cull IMO unless you are dropping the Captain

SA wasn't missed at all today and if we got good dollar we are well covered in there although I would love to keep him because it is an area of the pitch we will need most cover for all season.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 21:09:53
Armstrong evidently doesn't want to sign a new contract? No problem, see you later mate. I'm disgusted by his selfish behavior, good riddence, see you later.

Gt, speaking of the grass I thought the turf looked perfect today should suite the way we play, it ran quick.

Rodgers said they are not too far off a deal with Armstrong now.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2017 10:16:48
Ntcham doesn't look as if he will score many. His shooting doesn't look good enough. I would miss Armstrongs goals. I hope he stays.

05 Aug 2017 17:43:03
Callum McGregor is becoming a class act. Everytime i see him with the ball now I expect something to happen. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves he's up there with KT in my opinion. We have a great player on our hands and he's only going to get better and better.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2017 15:38:20
I admit I was in the sell Bitton camp but now I am prepared to see this as his first few games and forget everything he has done before.
He looks a class act in defense and is never stretched and has good positioning for someone who is not natural there and never looked troubled in Rosenberg.
I know he has not been put under real pressure yet but the signs are good.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

05 Aug 2017 16:10:07
Definitely see Nir as a starter in that position if he can prove he isn't prone to lapses.

05 Aug 2017 17:12:30
Has he the pace for the euro games would be my main concern.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 17:19:35
I've defended Bitton a bit over the past few years, but thinking of him as a midfielder I was ready to see him go this summer. Due to the circumstances he's found himself doing a job at the back there and so far has looked fine. I do not see him playing there once our injury troubles are over though.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Aug 2017 17:31:38
I think the style of some European sides would actually be more suitable to him playing there, it's the level of opponents that worries me. Like Rayman says, he hasn't really been tested yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 18:01:35
We were discussing this on live chat

For me he could be the ball playing CH but if he were to come up against a MD type CF he would really struggle strength wise

I said last season he would make a great CH if a half stone heavier he is just too lanky for me he needs to build strength IMO (Y)

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 18:43:22
jamie, i was laughed at for saying he looks good in there! lol.

Think he could be a good partner with Simi. One hard hitting the other a ball player with great positional sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 15:14:38
Assertive, classy performance for eighty minutes today with cracking goals and some great individual displays.
OK Hertz are in disarray at present, but it's all about us getting, fitter, sharper and building confidence and momentum.
Great job all round - although Gordon made an arse of their goal and exposed weakness at his near post yet again.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2017 16:45:25
We need a new keeper. Any direct ball over the top of the defence like the England goal or any time he has to fly off the line to the edge of the box he is all over the place. He took 2 or 3 players out last season and got away with it but it will catch us up.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 18:20:33
Gordon gets beat at his near post far to often. Good performance today. Getting fitter and sharper each game.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 18:05:01
Totally disagree, I've every confidence with Gordon at this level, he also assisted in a number of goal chances today .

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 19:43:02
LeedsCelt he has a big mistake in him every game. Today all he had to do was stay on his feet and the ball would have just hit him.
How often he gives the opposition the ball straight back with his kick outs is criminal
Wednesday was prime example of that.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 20:01:16
Kev, I agree about distribution on Wed night but to be fair, that was an exception in an otherwise well improved performance regarding his kicking.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 20:45:42
His distribution causes too much panic at the back, I'm all for playing out from the back but sometimes it is just best to put it in row Z. He doesn't command his area, He parries into the danger area, beaten too easily at near post, When he does come out to gather he wipes out the player. I think every time on Wednesday he tried to dink the ball over their attacker he gave it away every time.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 14:58:31
It's great to get back to normal. A good performance and it's great to have Griff back. Laffatme was first in line to eat his words and bhoy has his diving went down hill. Top of the league already, we shall not be moved.

Ed, do you think we are waiting for the champions league qualifying to be decided before we spend any more money? Obviously Roberts is going to be a target, but personally if we do qualify I think we could do with a real top class centre back plus cover for kt. I haven't seen enough of ntcham but I'd love a midfielder that really picks a pass, especially if like Rosenberg, teams bed in against us. When this happens we can't seem to draw teams out, or against better teams in Europe we need someone to pick out a final ball. I appreciate we have a few centre backs but in the group stages we seemed to be just hanging on in some games. The way it's going at the minute I'd maybe sacrifice Armstrong as he doesn't seem to have made any progress in the contract situation . If we were to get Roberts back 🙏, I don't feel we would be much different from last year, surely we want to keep improving the squad.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

05 Aug 2017 15:04:39
We don't need another CM Ntcham and Rogic can pick out a pass well and Ntcham will get better every game the bhoy has star quality written all over! all we are looking for is more match fitness. But a back up for KT and a right winger are needed.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Aug 2017 18:19:26
Quinn1888 did u not read the managers statement last week I think him say he's looking to get 1 in by the end of transfer window a winger that can play as a striker he said the other day he won't be getting any cb in plus we have a really good midfield aswell no need for this midfielder that really pics a pass that what ntcham is good at. catch up brother hh.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 11:02:57
Last year was one of the best seasons I've experienced as a Celtic supporter and in BR I feel we have a manager who can and will take us to the next level however without sounding too critical I thought getting to that level would have been completed prior to our European campaign taking off. So now we are going into the final game before the group stages and I can see there is still a lot to be done on the playing side. Why do we always leave it so late to get it sorted. The league business will take care of itself but the European side should have been sorted before now.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2017 11:15:22
Its been this way for yrs bud, if we get thru id imagine there's a list of players, if we get europa im sure thatll be a diff list. rightly or wrongly that's the way it is mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 11:18:47
Lawman we want to sign a better quality of player. A lot of they types of players don't become available till late in the window when the teams in England set their 25 man squad.
A lot of said quality players don't want to come till they see if we are in the champions league
The gaffer has said from the very start of this window that he would sign a few at the beginning of the transfer window and then wait till near the end when better quality becomes available.
People have been moaning for years about just signing players to make up numbers. I would rather wait on the quality rather than just signing for the sake of it.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 11:40:58
Hey guys I get it. It just feels we do our business ars* from elbow but like you say maybe that's just the way we have to do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 13:25:59
A lot of it stems from players themselves who hold off until late in the window to try and get the best deals/ moves they can get. Add to that the terrible reputation of Scottish football - and weather and it's easy to see how frustrated it is for all connected to Celtic football club.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 18:19:50
Troops we know Brendan's in charge and we all trust him he just delivered an invinsable season so for me it's him that's waiting not lawwell telling him he now's his budget so let's try not to break out the old biscuit tin stories he just forked out 41/ 2 mill on a player plus he's waiting to add 1 to that which will probs b a biggy too in Brendan we trust hh.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2017 07:50:07
I am personally delighted with the Astana draw, regardless of the travelling etc. I would like to make a few points.

1. I think we were comfortable the other night against Rosenberg, if not spectacular. A week on from the draw at home the improvement was there. We will keep edging forward and find the spark of last season very soon. The player's are still getting into their rhythm but it will click soon enough. At full strength we will see a massive difference in performances.

2. I have noticed a bit of criticism creeping into posts in the last few weeks, especially towards BR. I think everyone needs to remain calm. We have negotiated the first two hurdles of the season already. It wasn't pretty and we won't get gold stars, but the job was done. The manager shuffled the pack because he had to. Sure there was some square pegs in round holes but the reality is circumstances dictated that. When the squad is fully fit and one or two more is added then we will be flying again.

The new recruits also need a bit of time to settle in. It doesn't bother me that Ntcham is on the bench at the minute. It may have been a massive fee but he has to prove he is deserving of a starting place, like everyone else.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

05 Aug 2017 08:39:51
That's a fair enough post. In terms of criticism I think it's a tribute to how well BR did last season that the fans hold him to that high standard. The Rosenborg home game he got a lot of stick because he didn't change things when it clearly wasn't going to plan.

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Aug 2017 09:30:02
I just love reading what Rodgers has to say about our club and football in general.

I don't think anyone is getting at Rodgers personally but I do think fans are worried that Roberts has not been replaced and wether others agree or not we are not as strong as we where with him.

Obviously BR and us fans want him back but if it's not going to happen then I just hope an alternative is already scouted and lined up.

Can't wait for today, hope to see a devastating display of intent that we are taking no prisoners this year.

Agree2 Disagree1

The one frustrating part for me is not seeing the youth progressing as they should.

Fair enough Bitton had a decent game at centre half but what about McCart or moving Lustig in to centre half and playing Ralston?

Up front what about Nesbitt, Aitchison or Crossan who were all playing at Albion Rovers on Tuesday when Leigh was only fit enough for the bench on Wednesday?

Either these guys are good enough or they aren't. Yes they are young and inexperienced but the only way they will learn is by getting a chance like KT, Forrest and McGregor did.

If they aren't good enough we need to buy someone who is.

Agree3 Disagree1

05 Aug 2017 10:09:26
I think there are many valid points raised above by all and we are all guilty of airing our frustrations at times. There has been progress and the team will click into gear and with a full paradise this should start today.

In BR we have a high class manager who speaks very well and it is true that he has not faced a real test of his management at CP yet.

I do agree that some clarity and action needs to be taken in addressing the areas in the team that are short. I'd also like the Armstrong situation sorted one way or another. The longer it goes on it becomes a nonsense.

Niall, spot on mate. We definitely need to see some of these young players getting game time more regularly. A game here and there is no use to properly gauge their ability and contribution to the team.

COYBIG.
