So happy guidetti has signed. Wanted this boy at celtic for 3 years. Yaaaasssss!

I can hear thunder on the horizon!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm glad he has signed just so I can see what all the fuss has been about over the last few transfer windows. Don't know much about him but he has been mentioned loads. Hopefully he treats all of us to performances we won't forget

Agree0 Disagree0

Very excited he might get back to how he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

JimTim, morten wieghorst got back to form he was capable of. i'm confident guidetti with a run of games will do too. Great player, shame what happened to him with illness

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Boerrigter would though :/

I can now exclusively reveal that the renaming of Ibrox will incorporate the area around it at the back of the Broomloan stand and take into account all the Sevco fans concerns, it will be renamed
THE WHINE ALLEY.

Does anybody on here think Ronaldinho could do a wee turn for us?
I doubt he would be on huge wages
What u think ed waste of money for one season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Believe it or not but his wages at Mineiro were circa £24/25k a week although there was the potential to earn a further circa £250,000 p.a. in bonuses.}

04 Sep 2014 19:57:22
Would absolutely love to see this. A signing that would ensure a full house for the remainder of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it would be a great move, would put bums on seats and sell loads of shirts. Surely the board could give him a percentage to cover the 250k bonus? Having a player like that would also be good for the younger players and the Scottish game overall even if it was just for one season

Agree0 Disagree0

Great shout! I saw a programme about him recently and everyone said what a great personality and humour he had as well as the undoubted natural ability.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is just a shame he is lazy and a party animal who doesn't work hard enough in training, hence why he has dropped so far from what he once was.}

Sentiments are good but only as good as players supporting him. Look at all the Ingerlunds top stars. most play for clubs where they are surrounded by foreigners who make them look good. Take them away from the club environment and.average players. captain flab being a class example. Point is, great players can only perform when supported by the team. You will get individual occurrences but it's a team game. That said, would love to see him in hoops

Its cool folks we should just never have doubted Oor Ed

Turned out Pedro just wanted to "tap up his tan" in Spain before DIRECTING FIFA to the RESULT he wanted :-)

was watching highlights of scepovic on youtube. anyone else think he's a bit like jacki?

04 Sep 2014 17:26:27
with scepovic and guidetti in does that mean a change in formation?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My thoughts exactly. 2 strikers of decent pedigree, good in the air, physical lads. We signed 2 wingers and have full backs who are good going forward. Surely ticks all the boxes to play a conventional 4-4-2 with Johansen and Brown, when fit, grafting in the middle of the park. Even a diamond 4 in the middle with 2 up top could work with the players we have. Hate to see a team set up with only 1 upfront.

RD will only ever play 1 up front. He plays a 4-3-2-1 and that's the end of it

Deepriver, I think he should change but am going on his early interviews when he talks about his philosophy about how to play the game. Personally don't like his set up of 1 striker and maybe we even have players to play a3/5/2 at home anyway but it's not RD way I think. Deep river, I hope I am wrong my friend and if I am don't forget to remind me.

I’ve decided to add my thoughts on what’s happening at our club at the moment. It seems to be that a lot of fans are disgruntled by the way things are going on and off the park. Now I would class myself as an optimist when it comes to the club I love and will always stick by them through the good times and the bad. People that think these are bad times need to look back to the Kelly’s era!

The only thing that I have been disappointed with this year is the lack of signings before the Champions League matches. We maybe should have had players in earlier. But in saying that we brought a new manager in(maybe the cheap option) but if I remember back most fans were excited about his philosophy and the fact that he like to bring through the Academy boys etc. And in my opinion was the best route for the club to go in the current climate. He had what? 2 weeks to get to know his players before the Champions League qualifiers. How can he possibly be able to say what players he needs and what players can go in that time, let alone give the green light to bringing players in? We have a different philosophy now. A pressing, attacking philosophy. No we haven’t seen great displays but the change throughout the club this year is massive. It takes time for the players to get to know a system, to get up to fitness and to get them mentally aware, especially for guys coming into a media fest that scrutinises everything we do as a club. Our philosophy as a club is changing to the way of clubs like Ajax and even Porto. Bringing in young raw talent, developing them and moving them on for a profit. This is nothing new in football. Hopefully next year we reap the rewards of this with young Scottish talent coming through and making the grade but again this takes time.

As far as the board go, I was having a moan about them the other week but personally I think they’ve done a great job. We don’t know who’s decision it was not to get players in before the qualifiers, we don’t know how many people knocked us/the league back, we don’t know any of the circumstances. Footballs a tough game and not just on the park. I think it’s a bit of a disgrace that people were calling for the head of PL when the same people were probably praising him when Rangers died. This side of the game is the business side and these guys know exactly what they’re doing. They will have a 5 or 10 year plan, not just a plan for this year.

On to Scepovic now. How can people possibly be annoyed at him for looking into what is best for him and his family? If I was a footballer I’d do exactly the same(unless it was to play for Celtic as I’m a fan).

We are now passed the transfer deadline, we’ve kept big Virgil, brought in a new striker and hopefully Guedetti will follow. I’m happy with this. I’m also happy with the other loan signings and can understand why we’ve went down this road. Last year was a bit of a disaster with signings and we spent a lot on dross(again this is just football, we won’t be the first club or last to buy sh*t so why not test before we buy?
I can understand the frustrations of people but look at the big picture and you’ll see that things will be rosy come January/the end of the season(famous last words) so let’s get behind Ronny, the boys and the board and give them the confidence they all need to move forward.

Anyway just my humble opinion.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well put CMC, my sentiments exactly. I support the Club as that was the wish of my father and he took me when I was a small Bhoy. Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

The club knew we had CL qualifiers - plus Celtic Park was unavailable well in advance and chose an unknown manager who in turn, seems unaware of Celtic FC's expectations.
The Board failed to back him before and during the qualifiers - even though we got TWO chances.

The supporters want the new manager to do well even though there is little sign of progress so far and the majority of new arrivals are loan deals - and we have a very poor record going down this road.
His philosophy was ideal, but putting it into practice and motivating the squad seems to be a tall order?

The sale of our Keeper (for a vast profit that remains mostly, banked) in the middle of this transition was another disruption to a defence that is suspect to say the least and we failed to strengthen the dreaded left back position yet again in a window.
We left it too late in the window to address our requirements, although Scepovic may turn out to be a good signing, we have no real cover for Craig Gordon if he gets injured and the creativity in midfield is lacking.
Guidetti would have been nice, but I am not confident it will happen now.

I could go on, but I would be repeating things from previous posts, in how I cannot agree that the club is being run as good as some think.

I do agree there's nothing left to do but get behind the team and hope that things improve very quickly.
I have seen a few posts on here suggesting a couple of free agents and I hope the club are not too complacent to settle for what we have - as we need more quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

JungleJim, you’re right the club did know there was qualifiers coming up and should have strengthened last season but it’s not quite as easy as that. Some players brought in last season have not impressed (its football, these things happen) and to chance bringing in more too early without the manager knowing his team or their strengths and weaknesses could have been a disaster. On top of that how do you know the club weren’t actively pursuing targets during this period? How do you know players weren’t knocking us back left right and centre?

Again the loan signings are brought in because the club can’t afford any more duff signings. Try before you buy. A good business philosophy in my opinion. Would you have a go at the club if we bought Wakaso & Tonev and the ended up another Boerigter or Balde? It’s damned if they do and damned if they don’t at the club at the moment.

On that note the bad signing aren’t the boards fault either. They’ve been let down by their staff.

We’ve got the same cover we had last year if Forster got injuredr?

The creativity in midfield is lacking? Brown injured, forrest injured, Berget, Tonev and Wakaso brought in. Commons to hit full speed as always. We’ll be fine in this department.

I’m not saying mistakes haven’t been made but it’s far from Armageddon as a lot of fans are making out.

Just a though, might get shot down here. Darren O'dea is now a free agent. Think he was always a good prospect mistakes were rookie ones. 27 now played a bit of football in several countries now. Can also play left back!

Sly Sports (On Line) reporting John Guidetti " hopeful of getting loan move to Celtic APPROVED if not HE IS prepared to wait SIX months for it"

Looks good in a "worse case scenario"

Just read on the tv app! news that najastic and guidetti have been included in man city's squad for the season! Where does that leave us with the loan ed if he is registered in there squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It doesn't change anything. Until FIFA announce their decision Man City are quite entitled to register him.}

Remember ED, when you were young and your dad would drive you and the rest of the family off on a Sunday spin to the beach or somewhere and you'd be no sooner in the car when you'd probably pipe up "Are we there yet". Well this is revenge.

Is JD signed yet?
Who's fault is it?
Do you think the deal will be done?
and on and on etc etc etc

Ha, revenge is sweet!

Hows this for a VVD song:

Oh Virgil van Dyke, he is the f***ing man
He comes from Holland, he's harder than Jaap Stam
He plays in the green and white, for Ronnie Deila's men
And when we win the league, we'll sing this song again. (continued ad nauseum)

Was looking at some of the free agents available just now and one name stood out to me. Sotiris Ninis, a young attacking midfielder who is also more than capable of playing on the wing. Just been released from parma after a dissapointing spell but I remember when this lad was the next big thing in Greece, seems as though he has had a dip in confidence and IMO if we signed this lad we would be onto a winner. At 24 he fits the boards policy of cheap youngsters with sell on value. Could be the creative spark we need.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope The Board read these pages!

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably better for their self esteem that they don't look at these pages lol

We need a song for Scepovic, quite tricky with his blooming name but here is my feeble attempt, I am sure others with more poetic souls can do better.
Scepovic, Scepovic he's big and he's QUICK
He's here at the Celtic to score HAT TRICKS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Scepovic, Scepovic, you tried to do a runner
Getafe didn't want you
And then you came crawling back to us begging for another chance to play at Celtic Park you big pansy!

not really a rumor but I noticed McDonald Mariga (Victor Wanyamas brother) is currently without a club and therefore still available to sign and register for this season. He's a quality player who's lost his form a bit. You'd have imagine he would thrive at Celtic and an experienced defensive mid would do a huge amount for our team. You'd also think big Victor would say good things about Celtic to help convince him to come. It just surprises me that we haven't tried to get players like this in for nothing, rather than some dodgy loans.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed. Suggested him at the start of the window. Not sure Vic would have too much good to say but still, surely he'd rather play for us than nobody.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a CM. He would be worth a chance
