I can see the The Rangers getting a sizeable 'grant' to bring their neglected stadium up to scratch in time for the rugby sevens.

The A.G.M. also confirmed John McBeth as the Ist Vice-President and George Peat was voted to the position of Treasurer. At the S.F.A.’s Annual General Meeting held in Glasgow on Monday May 12th, Jack McGinn was elected unopposed as the new President of the Scottish Football Association.

He is a former Chairman of Celtic Football Club and has been a member of the S.F.A. Council since 1986.
He has served on a variety of S.F.A. Ed}Just a wee shout out for the bhoys, ghirls and no forgetting the two dogs lubo and Lenny who on June 15th completed the Ben Nevis Huddle raising over £22,000 for the celtic foundation.
Sundays their big day as they have been invited to Celtic park to take a bow during the interval at Stans charity march.
It will be a memorable occasion and I gutted I can't make it.
Tried on my nevis huddle t- shirt just in case, but it seems to have shrunk in the wash.
have been assured that its never been washed.(sumo)

Champions League football, what an utter con of a tournament. Where sporting integrity and merited ranking is *******ised by national viewing figures. Where prizemonies awarded is *******ised by national viewing figures. How can this be allowed in the 21st century? It's as wrong to footballing equality as racism is to human equality. How Uefa can wage war against racism but exercise this wrongful system beggars belief.

The hyprocrasy down Govan way is really something. Latest is a "deal" to let Murray's lot have directors to "save" £80k an EGM would cost, yet they think nothing of signing 8 new players probably only 1 less player's wages would have saved more than that.
Take into account Sally's £1m salary and the other shysters on big bonuses, but still happy to make long serving office and anciliary staff redundant. They truly have no consciences down Edmiston Drive. Timalloy

SDMs surely unfit guys worming their way back into directorships, making it full circle in just over a year. £180m debt dropped, 300 creditors stiffed and back to same old, same old. If the SFA allows this its time to pack up the game in Scotland.
Agree0
Disagree0
What about all the journalists et al that they have on their payroll to stop telling the truth. Rejoice because soon they will be no more. No matter how many directors they bring on to their board, they can not be saved. I wonder are they in arrears with the NIC and VAT yet. No corporation Tax due, you have to make a profit to pay CT.

A mate of mine sent me a link to one of their top unbiased fan websites . The paranoia over Mr Lawell has scaled new heights . They are saying its the final piece by Celtic of a five year plan . They are also claiming that Craig Whyte was planted in Ibrox by John Reid and Mr Reid is behind their downfall . Comedy Gold . DH

They're probably arguing their tax liability with the tax man, that's keeping accounts from being published/ signed off.

Im going to amsterdam in november for my first euro away trip without match tickets, celtic are only been given 2500 tickets for the game so likelihood of getting one of them is slim. Anyone know what is the chances of getting tickets for the home end and how safe it would be?
Cheers, green soldier

Dutch clubs may have a system of a strict club members i'd card to enter I went to brussels for anderlecht ticketless and we realised the night before the game we had no hope as anderlecht had the i'd card system.Ajax may be same situation but not certain

Agree0

Even if you could circumvent the (probable) need for members cards I would think twice before going into the home end as an away fan. In 2001 we attende the famous win with tickets for the Celtic end. After the game we were subjected to a venomous tirade of abuse and threats from Ajax fans who were clearly spoiling for a fight. It took a lot of diplomacy and manoeuvring to escape this fate. There were plenty of them up for it as well. My advice for what it is worth is to find a friendlier, less daunting environment to watch the match
Agree0

It was quite a while ago I went ( the one we won 3:1) but Ajax fans were very aggressive as were police, so don't fancy away end

Sevco leaking four new directors to join their board including Paul Murray and John McClelland no current directors to leave. Surely both these guys have been directors in the five years preceding bankruptcy and liquidation of the old club and therefore not fit and proper people?
The rules are very clear no grey areas at all. The SFA cannot possibly accept them.

@1 ogilive is an absolute disgrace! Why do we have to put up with this blatant favouritism and bending of rules to cater for these pack of chunts!
I cannot for the life of me understand why people are put into these positions have links to any football club in Scotland! These positions should be totally impartial! And definitely not open to any of the secret handshake goat molesterer mob (and I ain't talking about Murray park)
Agree0

The SFA was founded on 'handshakes' and their rule bending and corruption may have favoured one team; but has landed ALL Scottish Football in the terrible state it is today.
We have constantly went backwards for decades ruled by too many narrow minded fat-cats that couldn't care less.

Dear Ed,
Do you know if we are linked with any free transfers? I thought we might have been after Carlton Cole, not that I am necessarily wanting him!
There are plenty out there and some interesting names mentioned as people we "should" sign.
Thanks for the great site
Bee Bee {Ed007's Note - I can't give you any names, sorry. I thought a defender might be brought in but it is looking less likely now. Carlton Cole looks like he will sign for West Ham on a short term deal, I really don't think he is good enough and would hope that we are aiming a bit higher than him. He is an awful player, and an even worse striker, 75 goals in 325 appearances is laughable for a striker and now his best years are long behind him he will only get progressively worse. Any team that signs him is just going to play the long hoof-ball game, hence his return to West Ham with BFS, probably one of the most negative and poor manager's in the game today.}

If we were to sign any free transfers would they be able to play in champ league? If not do we really need them? Would it not be the perfect opportunity to give some youth a chance?

Ed playing devil's advocate here but there are the stats for a certain striker on our books which are not much different
Career Statistics 398 108 ~1 in 4 goals to games ratio
Not really much different and that includes playing the SPL rather than the in the top divisions in England. So Cole's record is not all that bad.
PS I am a BIG fan of Sammi before anyone starts. I have always defended him on here, including when certain others were going nuts about him being resigned by Lenny. {Ed007's Note - It's not very often Samaras plays as a striker though, he is usually played wide left. Cole is far more one dimensional.}
Agree0
Disagree0
True ed as I said playing Devil's advocate. Don't fancy him but any other team in the SPL would got crazy if he signed.
