What's with the Scottish media, most countries want there best young prospects to develop, to prosper and do well for there club, but no our mob can't wait to see us fail. Makes me angry, I still think Armstrong will stay, as will dembele guys, yes we do need one or two experienced players like a Sinclair level, but I think rodgers is being a tactician, I'm that years gone by how much cash have we wasted on dross, maybes, or hopefuls. Yeah we get one rush diamond like vvd or victor, and hopefully we will have a few more, but I think that game there shows Celtic have deco matured and learned in a year.

Ok stevie you are totally eed titled to your opinion. One of which you are wrong with. Iam as much a Celtic man as you or anybody else. I think your paranoid too mate. but then again I don't know you, you may be the nicest guy around. It's only a bit banter and general chat about our team. Let's stop picking spats withs people and just talk sense and current topics, ie Celtic, not a smell shite stuff. Get a grip pal.

See BBC sport reporting that aiden mcgeady is off to Sunderland.

What's does everyone think - has he made the most of his career, developed significantly since he left the hoops?

I thought it was a bold statement by moving to Eastern Europe when he left us, but I never felt he delivered that much in England. It was time for him to move when he did go - I felt he was never going to progress any further at Celtic - similar to Forrest in that respect (in my opinion) .

Good luck to him - I enjoyed his time in the hoops.

I always enjoyed watching Aiden, The twist and turn for the Scott McDonald goal at Pittodrie a stand out memory for me. He's looked like his old self this season plenty game time and the chance to show what he could do regulary. I'd have accepted him back at Paradise no problem. Good luck to him.

he picked Ireland over prodland, that was enough for me to like him, i wish i had the chance to play for Ireland and Celtic.

He had his time with us and we got great service but, I never believe in bringing any player back who voluntarily left us (either for money, bigger league or both)
They are never going to be the same and we will always reflect back to when they gave us their best. Returning is a bit like admitting, I made a mistake leaving.
Same with aging stars looking for a final pay packet and how it was always an ambition to play for us. Yeh, right. If that was the case why wait until their twilight years? Why not fulfill that ambition while they are in peak condition?

Not exactly but Forrest really doesnae look like an answer to Paddy. Before anyone says it: I know it's only pre-season! That said.

Am I the only one not bothered if Armstrong signs or not, let's be onest all the mumping on here about "still not signed his contract" be honest guys he has had ONE GOOD SEASON, so if he does not accept our, which I believe is a really decent offer, then SELL him for £10m plus and bring in someone of better quality.

Dembele and Sinclair have had one good season for us too. Would you care if they left?

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Jul 2017 13:28:41
i really doubt we will get 10 million for a guy with under a year on his deal. i think its just paper talk and he will sign up.

04 Jul 2017 13:29:45
Are you serious?

First you want Stevie May now Armstrong is a one season wonder?

Get a grip of yourself and behave.

04 Jul 2017 13:44:12
Don't forget Rodgers Kev! we'd get nowhere near 10m with a year left.

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 14:18:23
Think Armstrong is a tremendous player tim with a lot more to come goal scoring midfielders very hard to come by we havd to get the contract sorted and pronto.

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 14:25:30
Tim the problem is the uncertainty of will he won't he sign. Armstrong had a good season last year and if he stays on an extended contract great but if he doesn't want to extend his stay let's sell him and get the money and move on. IMO we can't go In to the important matches in the next 2 months with players having contract distractions.

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Jul 2017 14:40:48
Armstrong played well when he first arrived at Celtic then had a poor season in ronnies second like most of the players.
He was fantastic last year and has future captain wrote all over him.
But if he doesn't want to sign then he should be put up for sale.
I don't care about how much he's worth but if he's not committed to the club then punt him.

Agree1 Disagree2

04 Jul 2017 14:42:15
i think all that money he keeps winning has went to his head.

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 14:51:23
Armstrong is amazing and we should offer top deal, if he refuses, sell him. That said I would be fussed, he is a total asset: powerful shot, good awareness amazing engine. Negotiations are negotiations; you either agree or part ways. He is a major loss if he goes but live carries on madness£10 million is good business.

So the Moussa's off chat has started again on basis of BR saying there's no chance of him leaving before the qualifiers are done which has been interpreted as he is definitely off after the qualifiers are done. I've said before, stay or go is a win win for team and player alike and we are in a good position to hold out for silly money. I still think he would benefit from another season with us but anything north of £25 million is to good to knock back.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

04 Jul 2017 11:05:43
Its s decent situation to be in. Best of all, no need to make a decision until we know what sort of business we are able to do this window: if it makes sense to knock back all offers after getting our new bhoys in, I hope we'll do so. No point in letting him go only to come up short with our own targets.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 13:41:13
25 million and mousonda would be a good deal. I would love to keep Dembele for another year and if he makes the french world cup squad the price tag would be crazy money! Was he not over in Boston for image rites deal with NB?

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 13:42:04
why say specifically that he's not going before the qualifiers? why does rodgers not say he is staying full stop? im getting sick and tired of us acting like a small club selling our best players year in year out, i wish someone would buy desmond out.

04 Jul 2017 14:46:25
James can I ask this.
How many of they best players wanted to leave and play elsewhere?

04 Jul 2017 23:12:22
everyone who probably wasnt offered the decent wage they should be on at a massive club like celtic, by a BILLIONAIRE who actually takes a SALARY from celtic.
