Martin . Jim Tim . weather is horrible . but not the worst ever typical winter in West of Scotland don't know if wind is expected to increase then we would have to watch out out for debris flying over from ibrox.

I'm just back from visiting my parents in Parkhead and the weather is torrential . Really high winds and heavy rain, if it keeps up thru the night the game must be in doubt . Hope not.

Get a train from Carlisle at 9.30 so won't know the result of that pitch inspection! Well what's the worst that could happen, a day on the bevvy in Glasgow!

That's what happens when you employ an inexperience manager . He can control the players but has no control over weather.

It was very good of the players to visit the childrens hospice the other day but when I seen they held a cheque up for £3000 from the Celtic foundation I was embarrassed, that's a pathetic sum of money to have given imo. Guys like Scott Brown and Commons etc are on the guts of £15-20K a week. Why couldn't all the the players have clubbed together and given like 5% of each of their weekly wages to the charity and given them about £100K or so at least? Anyone else agree that only donating £3000 is pretty poor from the club when we're the biggest club in Scotland? I'm sorry but £3000 just seems like a pitiful amount and it's not living up to our clubs true charitable values enough imo.

celticforever this won't be the ONLY charity CFC is giving to mate and did you catch the pictures by any chance mate? I know he ain't your fav! but Scott Brown turned up in crutches! And considering the ground you cover in most hospitals it was a tremendous touch for me he had every excuse not to go and still went mate

Well done SB in my eyes (y)

I was thinking the same as jamie, it's better in my eyes a lot of causes get something than one cause getting a lot.

Hope you've gave your 5% this week mind CF! ;)

Celtic for ever I haven't contributed to the Glasgow children's hospice and so I have no intention about talking down anyone else's contributions .

It's bad enough that when we go to these pages we read on a daily basis how useless our manager and players are . Now we have to read how miserable our players are, and how they should spend their money .

I bet the beneficiaries of the 3k were over the moon with that amount. Most of the time the experience of meeting the players means more to the kids.

Who's to say the players you mention haven't chipped in?

I think the players turning up and handing out gifts to the kids means more to them than money.

Celtic also contributed all the unused food products today to local homeless charities due to the game being postponed which is also a fantastic gesture! 🍀.

As assistant perhaps.

Why was he released?

I think he makes a better coach or assistant than a manager but I doubt he would want to 'demote' himself after being in charge of his last couple of clubs.
Always wondered how the likes of Roy Aitken or Tommy Boyd never get a nod? They were good captains, motivators and leaders and love the club
Not sure about their credentials but either of them would ( or a few other ex players) be better than Collins.

Another failure in England that no doubt some posters will look to find a place for somewhere in the Celtic dug-out .

if u watched last nights game reading v qpr u wouldn't need to ask why he got sacked the team were rotten mind u so were qpr whiuch makes it laughable when i read how celtic would struggle in the champuionship down here.

Why would u want steve Clarke anyway? Good assistant apparently but not a good manager. How many if any of our previous deputy managers would you hVe been confident being the manager? Not many me thinks. any suggestions? Big Johan?

Do you think Ronnie would do any better at Reading than Clarke did. Don't think so.

I for 1 wanted Steve Clarke at Celtic before Ronny was appointed. I think he would do a great job for us and is far more tactically aware than Ronny. He was offered the Fulham job a few weeks ago and turned it down which shows how much loyalty reading have. Can still see him at Fulham tho as don't think they have got a manager yet. I would offer him assistant role to the end of season and give JC the boot and if there is improvement then promote him to manager as he can'wt do any worse than what we currently have.

{Ed007's Note - The fans wouldn't like Steve Clarke any more than they would RD, he's a brilliant coach but never a head coach or manager. So what's Clarke done to make him such an attractive option when one of the accusations aimed at RD is his lack of management experience and his supposed lack of winning things, did you ever watch any WBA or Reading games to see how his teams set-up or play?}

A team that is doing well usually has a good manager. Then we read in the media that the club has a brilliant assistant manager. I am sure few people outside the club know how good an Assistant Manager the club has. Whether an assistant manager is good or not is usually down to gossip or idle media speculation .
