Celtic Rumours fans favourite Christmas song, I'm a huge pogues fan so it can only be one for me followed by Mr. White Christmas himself

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Pogues for me closely followed by John and Yoko. I'm a bit of a morbid sod and could see every Christmas far enough. Even when I was a kid I was the same.}

Chris Rea -Driving home for Christmas, would rather be lying on a beach in Tenerife though,

It's chriiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaaaaaaasssss, go on Noddy. mark

I hope on Friday night we stick with the fast flowing slick passing game we played on Sunday was a joy to watch great movement midfield players getting ahead of the ball and drawing the attack up field creating relentless pressure and chance after chance! Or will we revert to sammi and jamesy to slow the game down and allow Motherwell breathing space? Interesting to see what the manager decides?

{Ed007's Note - I know a few of those names but ffs I was only born in 1974!!!!! :)

04 Dec 2013 21:13:05
Ed, I was born 1959 in Easterhouse, St Benedicts primary /
St. Leonards Secondary
Moved to hamilton, 1974 went to J Ogilvie, then work
1975 the rest has flew in .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - A lot of people from Glasgow moved through here round about that time, Little Earnock was built to cope with the overflow if my memory serves me right. I went to Holy Cross, John Ogilvie was a 'kid-on' Catholic school lol You must have heard that one before.}

04 Dec 2013 22:33:24
Ed I had the misfortune to have to go to greenfield ( The Annex) at the time, a Fire was started in it. with the slogan
Give the school back to the (Pr*ddies) my first real insight into the religious stuff, Easterhouse was more, area gang warfare., I was'nt into that either . I got hooked on Celtic in
1964 I think we finished tenth that year, seasons after that there were. 4, 5, 6, or more goals scored regularly from what I remember, and I was fortunate to be around for the stein years, I only went to the games with my dad, maybe that's the reason I have a more relaxed attitude. I hope we never play them ever again (Rangers), the don't deserve to be graced with our company EVER! Any hoo an early night methinks toodles .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It could have been worse, it could have been the Greenfield Club you went to. You needed to wipe your feet when you come out of there last time I was there.}

Havin a wee listen to snyde it's hilarious as usual? All denying that lot aren't skint and they have loadsa cash? And the new boards better than the current board even though they haven't bought any shares just waved a bit of paper stating we wilnae sell ibrox? Also all still angry with agent whyte I don't know why because apparently all saint Craig did was shut down a company now being a football fan I wouldn't be upset Celtic plc closing because apparently the club will still be ok even though they would have to 're apply to league and restart in the bottom league? Anyway I hope the new guys start getting a run instead of the stale Forrest samaras and Charlie. Mon the hoops!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Alex Wilson actually states:

"We want to ringfence Ibrox to secure it for the club and that's what we will do if we are voted in."

Won't it be the company that will own it as it would be the company ringfencing it rather than the club, Mr Wilson?
Another walloper appears from the never-ending line of financial whizzkids all dying to get their hands on a free wee football company, club, horse's arse name they are describing themselves as this week.
I've got a new theory, the DWP must be sending/forcing unemployed people on a weekly basis to see who is going to be spokesman for the week over there. That working for your benefits carry-on, anyone out there got a better explanation?}

Every now and again a reporter from one of the newspapers surfaces and makes a complete fool of themselves. A few days ago Keith Jackson, while waving the Paul Murray flag as usual, had a pop at Jack Irvine of Media House, the sevco PR people. This from the reporter who parroted the 'wealth off the radar' suck fest about Agent Whyte. This story was leaked to Jackson by. Jack Irvine. Laughable.

Tonight however on snyde ace reporters Hannah and Guidi took matters to a whole new level. Starting with what a great achievement by sevco in winning nineteen straight games, things got steadily worse. The fact that they are playing part time players, with a squad possibly equal to most SPFL teams, seemed to have passed them by.The true perspective is that ian black earns more in a week than any other player in that league, outwith sevconians of course, will earn in a year. IAN BLACK!

The financials lead nicely to Hannah's next piece of barking madness. In reply to a caller, he stated that sevco will have to attract investment to compete in the Championship on route to the SPFL. He also said that the sevco expenditure will have to be cut. So in effect, Hannah wants the current burn rate at sevco reduced while bringing new players in. Quite a trick for a good manager.I wonder how sneaky will manage?

Regarding investment.Who in their right mind would invest in a company, not maximizing their potential at the moment, that loses around £1m per month? Cuts totalling a Quarter of a million pounds per WEEK, before you could break even? I smell a share issue. How did that last one work out again?

But Hannah had time to surpass his previous nonsense. The caller then said all he wanted was answers to the questions the fans were asking. Hannah then said that he, Dellahunt and Guidi were 'journalists'. He then compounded this blatant lie by claiming answers were all THEY wanted. Now I am not a journo but try this Roger, FECKIN ASK A QUESTION AT A PRESSER! This might work better than receiving a print out from Jack telling you what to ask, and in some cases even print.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There are no decent journalists nowadays, they are supporters or petty little men with chips on their shoulders who sit in front of computers rattling off lies and half lies to suit their own agendas . Keevins, Jackson, McDermott from the Daily Ranger . Hannah, King, Leckie from the s*n . Lindsay and Jack from Glasgows evening crap . There is probably many more but I just can't be arsed wasting your time . Peter Lawell recently made an off the cuff remark about comparing Sevco to Rory Bremner cue uproar and outrage in the press circles . Just last week at a meeting of the gang of rogues who are seeking the takeover of Ibrox a slimy pub owner made a vile and snide comment about Celtic and young boys . Cue howls of laughter etc from the 2 Murray's, Gordon Smith, Mcoll and the other two orcs . Still not a whisper in any media outlet although they all reported on the meeting . It's the same as the way they report how Sevco were "kicked out " the SPL and how they have broke another record winning 19 games in a row . No matter how much evidence concerning admin and liquidation is there as long as the afformentioned "journos" are peddling their nonsense most of their fans will swallow it and stick their heads back in the sand . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - My Mrs brought in a Daily Record today and I had a look at it whilst eating. A David McCarthy (who I have never came across in my life before) has an article about the OF, going for the sympathy vote over the Clutha Vaults tragedy to mask peddling the OF myth. Turn the page and the same David McCarthy is writing a fawning piece about The Rangers/Sevco/Newclubs beating Forfar last night. To be honest I didn't even know they were playing but that's an aside, the guy should fit in well with the current SMSM.
If I was a The Rangers/Sevco/Newclub fan though I would be a bit worried, you would think with the 'calibre' of player and wages bill they have running them into administration again their superstars should all be getting at least a score of 8 in the paper's player's ratings. They can't have played that well even though they won 6-1 (obligatory penalty included of course). And they wanted us in the cup...did yeez aye!}

Ed . The next part of their sham reporting I guarantee will be the calling of Scotland caps for Black and Clark . I just wonder if they'll shout for a Republic call up for Daly . No chance .DH

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you spoke to your wife about bringing that rag in Ed.
HH joe

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - She knows the score on that Joe, it must have something to do with Christmas shopping or nights out. I can guarantee it will be something that costs me money though! I sometimes wonder if she actually gets paid for working or it is on some voluntary basis and she forgot to tell me?
I would never just go into her purse for anything without asking her or her telling me to, but I needed change last week and she told me to take some out her purse.
There was not one, but two ONE POUND NOTES in there!!! I asked where they came from and she said the ATM gave her them the last time she lifted money out HER own account.
I think I will be checking the pre-nup after Christmas and that is by with, there's something not right!}

Not Celtic related, more SPFL / Premiership related but would be interested in hearing others opinions. What's everyone's thoughts on the new Inverness manager? John Hughes, really? Out some of the names mentioned, I can't help but to think this is a major mistake. Especially Paul Hartley. Young manager still in his 30s, back to back promotions with Alloa, will have heaps of experience and contacts due to his playing career. I reckon Yogi will take them back to a mediocre mid to bottom table club, just like his Hibs + Falkirk teams were.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope Yogi does well.I will never forget him charging into the box at the dust bowl like John Wayne. My guess is he might just be a good fit. Hope so as he is a truly decent individual.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't member the programme maybe a game of two halves, a remember big yogi running by think it was judas wearing only a Santa hat and pair of boots .

I'm fed up with us being linked with players like James Vaughan etc. Granted good players but 6 million on him is a joke.

In my opinion we have two options:

1) Sign the best scottish and european young talent, Gauld, May, Souttar, Taylor-Sinclar and Finbogasson and then sell on for the right price. We spent 4.4 million on Brown and I see Gauld as the perfect fit for us and if we fork out 6 million for him and Souttar I see that as good business! Taylor sinclar is available on a free, and finbogasson i'd fork out the money for and therefore no fans would complain with us paying 12 million for 4 quality ready to play now players!

2) Play the youth and see can our youth system produce regularly as realistically we are going to win the league without any hassle until sevco pop up.

Sick off seeing Lennon waste money on prospects and then never play them!

Starting to lose patience with lennon over getting fans hopes up over a player then let him rot and then get rid for pennies and barely played 20 games for us.

Time to get real, the January transfer window is very important for us, summer will be mental with world cup on and over hyped players moving around, we need to get our business done in January early with 3 players give them time to settle with no pressure then get the ball rolling qualify for champs league and then if the right player became available at end of august before champions league deadline go for it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think there is a problem when we have such an advantage over the rest of this country in revenue, facilities and cash; not to mention the scouting and training and development network - then we see clubs like Hibs and Dundee Utd (and more) bringing through very talented youngsters that more than handle their own every week in this league.
We on the other hand buy in other countries prospects and any youth we have on our own books are stifled and frustrated and eventually farmed out or flogged without getting back any of the time and energy put in?

I think Celtic as a club are very complacent and lazy and should be doing much better - player wise - for the money the fans are paying.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to confess not seen Utd play much this season so haven't seen the youngsters but a can't see us or many other teams signing some1 from utd for 4, 5 or 6 m.
Why can't we play our own youngsters and if need bd sell them on for profit. They must b as good as the rest if they win most trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did anyone watch stv sports news last night, after all the news ramon said, late football news just came in susan mulvey
