Any idea if we have a sell on clause on van Dijk and if so what percentage are we due? Surely by next summer he is going to go for a fortune! £30mil at least.

Think he is definitely going to be a class act. At Celtic he was majestic in most domestic games and strolled through many without breaking sweat - and he had a goal or two in him as well.
He needed a more difficult challenge and seems to be doing very well.
It's always sad to lose any decent players, when we are trying to build a side ourselves, but there is always going to be ambitious talent who use us as a stepping stone - but as long as they give 100% while they put on the hoops, I just have to accept it.

Liverpool are also being linked with him. Far better player than John Stones, so I don't think he will go on the cheap.

That's him starting to get the praise of the English media after strolling their league for about 15 months now. Only now is he a good player, only now he's worth decent money and only now has he proven himself at a good level. Boils my blood.

I heard Micky Quinn on Talksport saying Liverpool were interested and would test the water in January. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.

Look at the dross man u and some of the top clubs have and they could have had him for the 12 mill Southampton payed but now he'll go for negative millions and the 10 % will do nicely.

Someone was saying to me that dembele was actually signed by deila, BR jus finalised the deal, could be a lot of shnit but could be something in it.

I've slated him plenty so credit where it is due, I suspect we might have Park to thank Rab or perhaps dare I say it even RD as I believe we first made contact in January. I suspect it would have been Park though. Any head of scouting or DoF would have been aware he was on a free and worth a shout. I always have a look at who is coming up to a Bosman but I didn't think we'd have a sniff with Dembele. I thought he would have went somewhere like Juve, it's pleasing he opted to come here though instead for first team football. BR might have been a deciding factor though for the player who knows.

I'm not claiming to have insider knowledge but I did hear that Celtic were already tracking Dembele and tried to sign him in January. However, I am willing to bet that Rodgers gave the green light to the transfer in the summer and the fact he was manager helped sway things in our favour.

No disrespect to either R D or Park but becoming aware that Dembele is available is a hell of a lot short of the actually signing him which IMO was down to the charisma shown and football knowledge of Rodgers . Having got him to Celtic Park Brendan didn't rest on his laurels or allow Dembele either and right away the youngster has hit top form and is proving the wisdom of signing for Celtic.

When you think about it that Dembelle and MacCormack were scoring a pile of goals between them for Fulham, so every one down south must have known how prolific he was, is an amazing coup that he has ended up with us, and once LG starts playing alongside him, I think a few goal scoring records will be broken.
