Bring back David Marshall to replace big Fraser who will be leaving this summer!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Shout. Arguably the best keeper in the BPL this season. For a side with a shocking defence too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree mate, He would be a great replacement for Forster, I'm hoping both Cardiff and Norwich are relegated, would love to see Marshall and Snodgrass signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy will stay down South, dnt know much about Marshall tho

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - In January Snodgrass made it abundantly clear to CFC through a third party that he would welcome the chance to sign for them and move back to Scotland. CFC and Norwich, who didn't want to lose the player, couldn't agree on a fee so no move happened and I imagine it will be the same story this coming summer, if the clubs can agree a fee. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Snodgrass arriving if NL is still in charge and the fee could possibly be decided contractually if Norwich are relegated, a lot players have a set release fee in their contract if the team are relegated.}

Most transfer fees are paid over the course of a few years so if Norwich haven't paid the full amount for Hooper yet, maybe Peter Lawwell could agree to write off some of the money due for that deal as part of any fee for Snodgrass.

Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye and doesn't Snodgrass mother live right beside Celtic Park, and so he could move in with her and save money. Joking aside I think and hope he will be signing for us . With him Stokes Griffiths and Commons, I can't see many opportunities for other attacking players .

Agree0 Disagree0

We both or think threw 3partys ed, we soon wil see if he comes back home

I see big Sammy not even in the squad today think his wee media confessions have finally ended his hoops career? Would love snodgrass in the green and white and also pukki and balde given a wee run.out together they have showed they are suited playing together. Went to Inverness game have to say great attacking play Griffiths and stokesy their close control and first touch was superb tidy link up play just feel we are still missing some pace I'm the team. Big Vvd bit lapse in concentration won't be getting his big move playing like that big chap?

Was he not injured today mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt there will be much shuffling lennon has his new target of 100 points/goals to achieve. tried and tested all the way. Stokes is scoring again and Griffiths, the true gent of our age, is playing well. Balde might get brought on at 70mins instead of the 85th

Agree0 Disagree0

I know Lennon is not everyone's cup of tea, but I think he has the team playing very well in non competitive matches .
I think he is getting the team mentally prepared for qualifiers .

I am not long back from game with the girls and have to comment on the new Celtic Way.
I posted yesterday about how sad it was to see the old school being demolished, but I have to admit the club have enhanced the whole area with this stunning walkway.
It will also be good to see the reaction of visitors to our beloved Celtic Park during the Commonwealth Games and to the surrounding velodrome also. It will enhance Celtic as a club I am certain of that in peoples eyes.
The whole area looks so different in just a few short years, how many of the fans on here remember the old railway embankment at the back of the Celtic end and you had to clamber up it on to a dirt track to reach the old jungle or the Gallowgate, when it was raining it was a mud bath and you got covered in the stuff.
The whole London Road area looks much better also than when you used to walk down it past all the old tenements and it looked and felt gloomy, the modern area is so much lighter, in my old eyes.

{Ed007's Note - Let's not forget Timbo that thanks must also go to GCC, the Co-op bank and The Unseen Fenian Hand.}

Pity P Lawell and co were still to come out, when the compere asked Bertie Auld if he would like to say a few words on the new Celtic way.

He says big Jocks final words in the tunnel every week was, the fans pay good money to come here and be entertained, your here because you have the skills to entertain, so go out and entertain, its the Celtic way.

Biggest cheer of the day when he said "when other clubs drive up the new Celtic way they will realize what a big club we are, and you the fans deserve we get back to just acting like one"

Hail Hail Bertie totally agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have always had great affection for Bertie and met him many years ago at a supporters function. I was so impressed with his love of Celtic and the pride he had in playing for the club TWICE.
He spoke about how fortunate he was to be given a second chance and as you say he must have mentioned the word 'entertain' in relation to Celtic a dozen times.
I always wanted him to be manager at some point, but it wasn't to be.
The philosophy and values that are so dear to him and many older fans like myself must never be forgotten.
We are a huge club with a tradition of attacking, entertaining football, with flair players and creative maestros. Celtic must always embrace these values and entertain in order to fill Celtic Park and be successful.

We started off yesterday with a very attacking display . This was made possible by Aberdeen also attacking and the game was top entertainment .

What happened to Lenny's promise to play some of the youth players once the league was done and dusted? It seems he's sticking with the usual suspects in his quest to reach accumulate as many points as he can for his CV. It looks like personal achievement over player development to me. Does anyone agree?

Hail Hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lennon constantly says one thing and does another. Possible ego thing, due to getting beat off aberdeen past two meetings. Leagues won, youth should be getting game time.

Would love to see Balde and Pukki getting a run out the rest of season, doesn't matter if no goals are scored at least it would put to bed duds or not?

With 2 up front Stokes.and Griffiths will score for fun. Griffiths is a better player than hooper

There'll be days other options will be required. Nows the time to look at options.

Agree0 Disagree0

@TTTS I agree with you about pukki and balde. To be honest can see this being another mo bangura scenario, where we end up out of pocket releasing them on free transfers.

Stokes and griffiths will score not a problem in SPL, its europe that is concern

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we are all suitable impressed by the way we are playing since the league was completely tied up. I think Lennnon on the basis of how well and confidently the team has played, has decided to keep it together to have a good run in preparation for qualifiers .

Agree0 Disagree0

We didn't end up out of pocket with Mo Bangura mate, we pocketed more than his transfer fee from his two loan spells back in Sweden, with those clubs picking up his wages for the duration of those two seasons.

Would anyone take a punt on david nugent? out of contract with leicester in the summer. Guarenteed goals

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not for me. Would rather sign Bendtner or Mame Diouf on a free.

Agree0 Disagree0

JimTim
I shudder at the thought of anyone with the name Diouf in a Celtic shirt! lol

Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither for me, Nugent at one time was a good prospect but he didn't materialise .

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were to take any players from the Championship or L1 then I'd be interested in Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) to replace Forster + Harry Maguire (Sheff Utd) for van Dijk. In terms of strikers, there's a few younger players I'd go for before Nugent - Ross McCormack (Leeds), Danny Ings (Burnley), Charlie Austin (Burnley), Jamie Vardy (Leicester) + Britt Assombalonga (Peterborough, although his first name may be unpopular with some lol).

Is it 28 years ago today Malky,? What a day that was, I was 18 and went to Love St that day with no hope because I think we were 2 points behind and 5 goals behind and for our younger viewers this was the days of 2 points for a win. Unbelievable! No mobiles so it was the old tranny to the lug. Happy days
