What’s anyone’s thoughts on playing Sinclair in behind. I think he’s become stale out on the left as all teams are doubling up on him. I think he might be better with more of a free role!? Down to manager!?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

03 Mar 2018 23:57:38
Think it's worth a try and keeps teams guessing if say we had McGregor in the team he can play across the whole midfield so might surprise teams which is needed.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sinclair's been playing in the middle in the 3-4-2-1 formation and being ineffective. Even off form he's better out wide for me.}

04 Mar 2018 00:18:33
Swing him on to the right for 20 mins then, might open things up a bit. he’s a good player Just not happening for him at the moment.

04 Mar 2018 00:31:29
A definitely double marked target. I’ve no solution but I’d rather paddy.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 02:15:47
El and CL defenses marked him out of games. The spl coaches followed the same blueprint. I like SS. We just aren't keeping teams backlines busy enough for him to roam. Forrest and paddy have done things a little differently when on form and are less predictable. If I was a lb/ rb in the spl right now I'd push Sinky to the touchline if I could keep up or force him away from the corner or middle of the box to avoid that cracking dipping lob he does.

First half was very poor today but thought we were better in the second half after the introduction of Edouard. He linked up really well with Dembele. I would play both of them next week against the Huns with Edouard playing just behind Moussa. I've roasted Moussa this season as he's looked lacklustre but last 2 games he's bagged 3 goals and is looking like he's hitting form.

Id go with this next week:

DDV

Ajer
Simunovic
Compper

Forrest
Brown
Ntcham
Tierney

Rogic
Edouard

Dembele

Roberts, McGregor and Musonda off the bench.

We need to turn up to win this game. They've improved and will play at a high tempo for first 20 mins. As much as they have improved we are still far too good for them when we play to our max potential. 3-1 Celtic my prediction.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - That's my line-up too.}

03 Mar 2018 22:54:31
Not like you to fancy 3 at the back ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't, Kev but I think that's what Rodgers will stick with.}

03 Mar 2018 23:30:48
I'd happy with that team but if ever there's a game we're SS can get his confidence back its this because that's all that's wrong with him atm if he has his form we're a better side with him although I did like young eds fronts and movement today hh.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 23:31:38
Feints.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 23:22:18
I don't know ed because the strongest part of their team is out wide.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Realistically they're still pretty sh1te though.}

04 Mar 2018 00:08:20
Kev with 3 at the back you can balance what side to attack and defend on which makes opponents go to the side you want them to :)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 03:12:31
we were total mince today. that was ****ing morton.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 04:31:03
3-0 gerry. Al take that against any team that puts 10 men behind the ball.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 09:51:49
Sammy that may be true but as both me and ed have spoke about with a three at the back we are susceptible to diagonal balls like the goal we lost against killie.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2018 10:26:31
i think we will pump them whatever team we put out, the players aren't daft they know what's been said by the pro sevco media, don't be surprised if there's another simunovic/ barry robson type tackle early doors to let them know the score.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 11:17:52
Jb67 I will remember that Barry Robson tackle to the day I die.
I was sitting with my dad that day and he turned and said we've won this already the second Robson smashed daily.
Both Robson and Hartley went to war at the end of that season and were major reason we won that league.
I loved both of them.

So, Saturday night is date night but the missus has a headache. Early night for me then! I'm looking for something to watch when I find my 'Road to Seville DVD. No mistake, this was an absolute pivotal point in my younger life. I remember each game whether I was there or watching it on telly. I was lucky enough to be at the Celta Vigo and Liverpool home games with having a young family at the time but I managed to catch them all on TV. Unfortunately I missed out on being in Seville but managed to convince the wife to look after the chiddlers so I could get to the pub to watch the final. I was in the company of a bunch of Huns at the time but even their gloating couldn't take the shine off the occasion. The rest, of course, is history. What a brilliant year it was for us, I'll never forget it!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - I thought the whole Seville season was an absolute let down and can never get my head round why people celebrate it. It promised so much and delivered nothing. Is being Runner-Up in the UEFA Cup really something to compare to days of winning leagues and cup finals? We finished the season with diddly squat, the whole thing cost me an absolute fortune and a night in the dub and there's hee haw to show for it. Coming back from Seville felt like THE longest journey of my life and I flew out the night of the final. I've never watched the final since the day after it when I watched my own recording and have no intention of ever watching it again.}

03 Mar 2018 22:59:39
I get you big Rab, strong strong memories of every round, Where I watched it etc. Which is unusual as I was pissed most of the time. 😂. The nearly bit was a major let down although the memories are fond. I was off work with Debility the week of the final . Disciplinary on return etc. Some laugh.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 23:25:14
It's a bitter sweat memory for me. I have never watched a repeat of the final.
But as fans we covered ourselves in glory and I will always be proud of how we done in that tournament.
We beat some big names to get there and if big Hartson was fit we'd have won it.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 23:36:30
Great memories the final I can't get over Jose's divers we didn't win anything that season would I change the run to the final? No the thing that killed us that season was the 2 goals we conceded against dundee in a 6 2 home win I remember thinking at the time that's gona cost us.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 23:05:29
Fair enough old boy, the season in general for us was naff. I can't say what it was like for the bhoys who were in Seville that day after the game. I left the pub in a weird state of euphoria. We'd just lost the final but it was a great game to watch. It was good to look back at our cup run considering the disappointment we've had over recent years. That's what they old DVDs are for!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Nah man it would be like watching ET or Forrest Gump for me - I'd end up blubbering like a kid.}

03 Mar 2018 23:28:04
As an older supporter it reminds me of the 1970 European Cup final, where the night was full of shoulda, coulda, ifs and buts - but nae trophy and deep disappointment - even more so in 2003 when the support had traveled in numbers never seen before and then for the season to end in such disgust with Dunfermline lying down at Ibrox will always be a bitter pill to swallow.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 23:07:17
Feel your pain Ed007 but a little harsh on the team tbh. Porto as much as they dived like clowns were an excellent team and proved it by winning the Champions League the next year.

That Celtic side overall were at some level, if only they sorted their away record in Champs League, but some amazing home nights.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not slagging the team as such, just highlighting the overall disappointment I feel about it all. Forgetting the league etc and looking back winning that UEFA cup would have put us into a different stratosphere from the rest of Scotland even with the financial shenanigans at Ibrox.}

04 Mar 2018 00:10:59
Ed that's always been a recurring problem keep the foot down when on top.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I know a song about that......

{Ed007's Note - You might very well think that, but I couldn't possibly comment.}

04 Mar 2018 04:53:38
Seville has nothing but regret for me, I was promised tickets and flights but got bumped. Young daft ****in stupit whatever. Lost a fortune n got done out of the time of a lifetime. Av heard stories of people who couldn't give a **** about celtic havin a party in Seville n a was stuck in the barras watchin it. Every cloud tho, a seen Shane McGowan getting carried on stage on a chair by 2 guys that looked shocked he was breathing never mind singing. Honestly tho a don't think al ever watch it again.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 08:17:01
I was living in Jakarta Indonesia at the time and sat up to watch it. I have never watch any recordings of it since watching the live game and I don't think I am bothered about seeing it again. Nostalgic for some but I would watch any of Big Jocks games again before that.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 10:18:13
I’m the same, didn't feel like glory once we lost the final, if we had won the treble but lost that, then maybe, but we lost the lot to them, it was a disasterous season, the following season was much better, winning the double, knocking out Barcelona and beating Rangers 5 times out of 5.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 21:28:04
The Seville season for me was magic, yes we won nothing in the end, but the memories of that season I have are up their with winning the league at love street the centenary year as well.
Hartsons goal at Anfield and Larrson’s goal against boa vista will live long in the memories.
I would take getting to a European final anytime over domestic trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 20:54:02
BR Celtic could be on its way to a double treble to be at this stage of the season once again in a semi top of the league and a cup in the bag is amazing work let's hope we wrap the league up quickly starting Sunday we could have it done before the split then it's just 2 games from another amazing season COYBIG.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2018 22:04:15
Said it before Sammy, Sunday is the perfect opportunity to kill this fictitious title challenge stone dead. Win and it is also the closest we"ll be allowed to actually clinching the league at Ibrox.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 10:14:04
I like your style big sammy
Performance wise we are down
But I ask everyone how many trebles have we ever one in our history?
It’s not easy
One of the worst injury spells I’ve known but we are still on for a double treble

For all those on sinkys back, the boy is obviously struggling personally, why don’t the best supporters in the world cut our player some slack, help him through it, sing his name, feel proud of his 17 goals and show him we believe in him.
This boy is a class player and we would miss him

Look at the moose - struggled so far now back on form.

Agree0 Disagree0

With Moussa starting to hit a bit of goal scoring form, hopefully he uses next weekend to shut everybody up and show who's really the main man in this country.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2018 21:59:21
Aye too right. I hope he plays with Edouarde in support as his introduction in the second half today made a difference and they both could rip holes in them next week.
Got to say as well how consistent KT has been for the last two seasons. Always available and covers every inch of the park and
Commper gave him more cover to attack.
Ntcham is also developing into a great player for us and complements Broony very well. HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 10:11:22
Griffiths is the main man in my opinion, Moussa a close 2nd. But as you say, hitting a wee bit of form just in time to close the doors on all this make believe title race. ✌🖐.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 17:19:51
I find it hard to understand some people's reactions to our performances.

Granted we were not scintilating today but we did dominate the match. Nearly 70% possession, 26 shots on goal, 10 on target and 3 goals. In addition Morton had 1 shot on target the whole match.

The big plus for me today is Moussa looks like he is starting to hit form at the right time.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2018 18:34:44
Agree, Spl teams and lower divisions are not playing a game of football against us this season and maybe many more, we will see familiar large stats appearing in out favour.

The reality of it is we played against multi million pound teams in CL/ EL, Spl teams are playing against a 20 million + team with 30 million quoted striker, and nearly 15+ Million quoted loans players.

Football has changed and this younger generation although see some great players, and games they are cheated for a decent game in our league.

Wins are wins, and we stay in the cup, and league champions. HH

It is better to have less thunder in the mouth and more lightning in the hand.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 18:43:29
Agree RAW some are looking for perfection every week, 3-0 victory move on, Can see signs of Dembele getting back to his un-playable best and with Griff, Armstrong and Paddy coming back were going to improve between now and the business end of the season. As for next week although we're not firing on all cylinders and they have improved I'm sure we"ll win as we have a better standard of player all over the park. If we play well we win simple as that doesn't matter how well they play.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 19:28:51
Also it was a cup game, cup games are always a bit dodgy, maybe there will be a surprise tomorrow.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 22:04:46
It was hard going in the first 45 as they dug-in and competed well; however a wee tweak at HT and a bit more pace and strength did the trick. We sometimes expect more, but should never criticize a win.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2018 10:16:03
It was 3-0
Totally dominated possession
Not much training in the week
25+ shots
Teams these days either sit back and frustrate or play the high press
Either way we are top of the league and on for a treble
Did we think teams wouldn’t improve after being destroyed last year?

Agree0 Disagree0

Very pleased to win, the first half was awful even the manager said it. Early days but Compper looked slow, hopefully that will improve with games. Second half much better, Celtic without question can't seem to string two good half's or games together. Got a sneaky feeling we will win by a couple on Sunday, however we are miles below our performance standards from last year. Looking through today's posts it seems to fans are split over today's performance, I'm taking the positives.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

03 Mar 2018 17:32:44
hope we do win by a couple . don't forget our wager lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 17:39:54
Got to agree with you, I thought first half was awful. Second better and Odsonne really lifted things (his miss was awful but hey) Early days for Compper but on basis of that performance he really can only get better. We seem to lack the aggression and drive that we had last season and in too many games this year we have looked rudderless, square balling and back passing. I don’t share your optimism about next week on basis of that first half today. We outclass Sevco from back to front but Ntcham probably cost more than that whole team this avo and they made us look pretty ordinary for first hour. Depending on what Celtic turns up next week we could struggle.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2018 19:48:59
Welshboy I hope I am handing you over the money. I think now Rangers have our full attention, yes we are much better player for player but we need to have the players performing. For me Sinclair is indelicate of our team this year. nowhere near our level. Hail Hail.

I agree about sinclair tho u can see why brendan has persisted with him as we all know there's a player there. Agree with other posts we have to go with edouard next week at no point do we ever wanna be chasing a win we wanna be on the front foot from the off and put these zombies in their place HH

doris
hendry ajer jozo commper
forrest brown ntchiam kouassi kt
edoard
dembele.

My opinion was the game was very poor, struggled to break them down.

I’m surprised with the formation, chance to go with 2 up tops and when Edouard came on he eventually started to link with Dembele. 60 mins onwards they tired and we had some space to play.

For next week. Honestly have no idea what BR will do, I’m looking forward to this one though as I think it will be very close and entertaining. If we can get a goal early then all the better.

03 Mar 2018 17:17:09
Kev: that will change next week as the Dollies (clones see what I done there) will come marauding from the 1st whistle. Which in turn will leave space at the back.
Team for the Dollies game:

Hendry Ajer Simunovic Tierney
Brown Nitcham
Forrest McGregor/ Sinky
Edouardat
Dembele.

In a bad season he has scored close to 20 goals for feck sake.

03 Mar 2018 15:13:54
Totally crazy to claim his career is over due to him being substituted at half-time. We don't know if he picked up an injury or anything, and by your reasoning, Kouassi must be finished in the hoops also as he never got on
Sinclair will start for us against the orcs and will run rings round them.

Well done Dundee. About time the rancid wretched was banned from Celtic. As a libertarian i have a problem banning the press and free speech, but not hate speech. Not outright fabrication of stories. Not the Blind slavering devotion to the continuation myth. surely enough's enough?

Dundee FC have banned all journalists from The Daily Record and Sunday Mail after a Headline appeared to claim Dundee where on the brink.
Yet these papers will not Report on the Financial going on's in Sevco. They haven't once mentioned about the Securities that have been in place with Close Brothers.
I wonder why this is? You don't need to be Brain Surgeon to know why. These so called Reporters will never tell the truth when it comes to all things Sevco. You can't upset the Establishment can you!
I just wish we would tell The Record to p**h off, then maybe just maybe things might change. But I'm not holding my breath.

Oh well onto today's game,
3-0 and Sinclair to be first goal scorer. 🍀🍀.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

04 Mar 2018 08:24:00
I don't think its totally the establishment as it is money. If they appear to be digging too deep and highlighting the truth about sevco then a lot of their papers will be left on the shelf as their regular customers will stop buying. They just want to see and hear positives so you pander to the masses and make profit.
