A change of topic sorry guys.
Its quite clear young KT is our young player of the year. But what about player of the year? I think griff shades it with his goals but not by far. there's probably people out there that will say that's how far we have fell away that a teenager is a player of the year contender but i think its refreshing imo.

I was thinking the same mate young Tierney deserves both has anyone ever done that before won young players player and player I'm sure petrov won young and player but not 100% sure.

Every one is blaming RD for all that is going on at Celtic Park but if any on here read Ed 001s summery about the way Celtic is run at the moment how can they just blame RD? There is no way I could do my job with one arm and a leg tied behind my back can any of you? So how can you expect the manager? And replacing him with some other man is not the answer no Good or decent manager will take the position with those circumstances And what ever player or players that are causing up rest in the team should be punted no matter who they are As for the board not going to even start.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

04 Mar 2016 01:08:58
As you say 'No good or decent manager will take the position' and that unfortunately includes our last 2 [or three if you include Mowbray] and I think even Coyle turned us down!
Most of the support realise who the real culprits are, but I think it will take a real crisis like losing the league or a cup KO to get the drastic changes that are necessary to shake up the whole club.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 06:38:41
Clearly there's more to the goings on at Celtic park than just RD not being up to the job. If RD isn't getting a free reign to manage the team as in his own way then for a club like Celtic that's just not on. As for the players, yes I've given RD it tight as I do feel it's his responsibility to get the most and the best from these guys, but these players need to give themselves a right good kick up the arse. There's punters turning up week in week out forking out a shed load of money over the season and for what? To watch mediocre performances from players who at most times this season look like they couldn't care less! That's not acceptable for our club. Back to Ronny again though and I see some quotes about players being tired, lack of confidence etc, tired I'm sorry, these guys want to try getting up 6/ 7 days a week doing some hard graft on a 12 hour shift on a building site and they'd soon know about geeing tired. As for confidence, I've watched Armstrong getting played out on the left now in his last 4/ 5/ 6 games he's started and the guys just not comfortable in that position. I know he's played there for Utd in the past but my god, every time RD plays him out there more often than not he's hooked at half time. No wonder the guys no confidence. Start playing these guys in they're natural positions. Especially when we've players playing in the centre of the park like brown, johansen etc that just aren't cutting it at the moment!

Tony

One arm and one leg tied behind his back? Seriously?

He has had 10 million more to spend than Derek MacInnes on a squad that should already have been good enough to finish a country mile ahead of Aberdeen.

Dundee rested 8 first team regulars on Wednesday, yes 8. And we can't beat them at home? That wasn't Barcelona resting 8 players it was a bang-average SPFL team.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 22:55:43
Thought it was interesting what RD was saying about Tierney. If he thinks that then why doesn't he play more of the young players as the fans will get behind them. Look at Man U in the last few games, played youth and had the best backing of the fans they have had this season and also getting a few results.

Not sure if I'm correct here but I don't remember tier eyes name really getting mentioned earlier in the season? He got his chance because izzy and mulgrew were out and he took it, maybe a few other youngsters who could step up? And I mean players we have developed not young players signed from other clubs.

fkn spot oan marty bhoy been sayin the same fur months.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 21:51:06
For me, these are the most critical issues;

1. huge opportunity lost to put Celtic miles ahead of you know who. Celtic's progress should have been to a level where it would take years for them to even begin to catch up. Effectively, mext year will be a level playing field which is shameful

2. a well publicised clear the air meeting between players and the manager is a shameful indictment of where things are. I can't remmeber the last time such a meeting was required by a Celtic manager. It demonstrates that there are serious issues around player motivation, committment to the manager, belief in what he wants to do etc

3. The manager clearly set out his stall when appointed - fast, attractive football, high pressing game, improved work off the ball etc. None of his philosophy has been delivered. Reasons for this have to be among these:
* players don't have the required ability
* players not committedd to his philosophy
* manager unable to either get his philosophy across or motivate the players to step up as he wanted

4. this links to number one, namely the loss of potentially serious income levels from failures in Europe. Just imagine what some degree of European success would have contributed to stretching the gap with you know who

The key question is who is responsible for / what explains the above? If the Board were in a position to properly funds and resource high quality management and players, then they have failed miserably. Conversely, if they have followed a policy of revenue cutbacks, then you get what you pay for and the issues identified above are the inevitable consequences.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2016 23:34:14
I think there is another key issue, RD doesn't understand the philosophy he is trying to implement. He is like a student with basic textbook trying to deliver a postgraduate lecture, as soon as things don't go how he planned them in his head he is lost.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 08:17:26
He didn't have a problem getting the message across last season when we actually saw a high pressing game. Therefore, this would suggest that the problem lies with the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 11:35:13
I don't think it does, there wer many awful performances last year as well. I don't know when you last seen the team but in every game the system is flawed we have the front four players not taking part because of the positions they are told to take up. Our central defenders are constantly exposed one on one not becaus of this fantasy about players downing tools and not trying but because the manager is tactically incompetent. It is down to him, he wanted to be judged on performances then so be it. he needs to go now.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 20:46:21
Ed are you still backing RD?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Of course I am, we're still trying to win a league and cup. Do you want him to fail?}

03 Mar 2016 20:56:20
You go to the game last night Ed007? Was it your first since we signed CKR?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah mate.}

04 Mar 2016 06:10:44
I will never want a CFC manager to fail.
RD has my full support. League and cup is no disgrace.
I don't get up to paradise much these days, so I'm a TV pundit!
From what I watch the performances lack creativity in the final 3rd, and we seem to get punished for every mistake. Free kicks and corners seem to be our Achilles heel at times.
My gripe is that I can't work out if we are seeing all that RD can do, or if he is genuinely hindered by the board, senior players not trying etc. Even then is this his mistake - maybe.
I think we may never fully understand the situation behind the scenes.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 20:09:35
Ed do you personally think the players aren't playing for the manager? If not what do you think is the problem with the team? Quality? Leadership? Cohesion? Tactics? Not putting you on the spot but you usually call it like it is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's a lack of confidence for me Pedro. The team is playing with no confidence with nobody stepping up and taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Playing Brown and Mulgrew together was a blunder as it's obvious neither of them are 100% fit.}

03 Mar 2016 21:23:56
Agree with that ed, there have been many poor performances this season but last night for me proved there are major problems behind the scenes between management and players.The lack of effort was clear to see. When was the last time we never created a worthwhile chance against SPL opposition at home. The last 5 mins of game told a story for me ,we have always pressed hard in games like that when needing a goal and more often than not we find a goal, but last night we were the team hanging on. Breaks my heart watching a Celtic team showing no effort and accepting results like last night's.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 21:29:18
I'm quite pleased we haven't got a league match this weekend, with a lack of confidence in the squad there might have been a good chance that we would have dropped more points if another game was coming up so soon.
I know it's tempting fate, but even with confidence being low, we should still have far too much for Morton on Sunday, if we can get a decent result in that match, plus a week's training before the next match, I'm hoping the players will be in a better frame of mind by the time we play Partick Thistle.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sunday's match can't come quick enough for me and hopefully we can get an early goal to settle the nerves and help get us back into our possession rhythm.}

03 Mar 2016 22:33:35
Ed it's Morton.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I know who it is but there's some of us that don't want a repeat of the last time we played them in a cup at CP. That was a more embarrassing result than anything that's happened under RD.}

04 Mar 2016 12:00:47
what gets me is that watchin celtic recently is like watchin paint dry!
we play 6 passes tae get oot ae our own half then say another 10 cross field passes, then a quick wan two tae get the cross in!
meanwhile the opposition players are walkin yes walkin back into position to win the ball back which they ALWAYS DO then they play 3 mibee 4 passes forward to get to where we always wanted to be in the first place?
n you wonder how a take a kin drink AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGggggggHhhhh!

Just speaking to a few today felt it was also saying few fans turning on each other

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 19:42:35
I think the 8-1 game against Accies was a lower attendance than last night. I saw 3 separate arguments in the Jock Stein lower within 10 rows of where I sit, as many as I've seen in my previous 17 years in this seat, that alone tells a story that we're sinking back to the depths of the early 90's.

So after reading through all the posts and ED001 comments, just how bad have things got under Deila?
Well my ex bear pals have all placed large bets on their new team WINNING the league next season, DAFT? they look upon Deila like we looked on Sally, a nonenity of a manager who is useless.
How many Celtic fans have any confidence on him beating Morton, let alone his team triumphing over Aberdeen to the title.
Yes he has been let down by Lawwell but if you pay peanuts, you get a monkey, but at least a monkey can learn from his mistakes, this Norwegian cannot. It is time for Pedro to pay the going rate for a decent manager and get Celtic an experienced person who actually knows what he is doing.
Yes some of the players have let Delia down, as ED001 says they are not playing for him, SHAME ON THEM, get them out of our great club NOW.
But as I have said before, we Celtic fans are to blame also, because we are still going to the games, buying ST and merchandise, so until we all say to Desmond, Lawwell and Park et al, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, they will simply keep shafting all us Celtic fans. I have already stated on here my 3 season tickets will not be renewed until there is a seismic shift in the thinking of those who perport to run our great club.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

03 Mar 2016 18:49:37
Timalloy spot on with analysis. The only way to force change is to boycott season tickets and all merchandise. Been saying for years club needs overhaul. Heard attendance was low again last night. I personally can see s huge drop in ST sales next season. Hopefully we see a takeover.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 19:41:02
I think that season ticket sales will hold up next season simply because Rangers will be up in the premier league.
I can imagine the sales pitch in the summer about how the club needs your support to see off the threat, a lot of fans would find it difficult to turn their back on them under these circumstances, me included.
I just hope the board don't have the brass neck to try and put the prices up, but with Lawwell in charge, I wouldn't bet against it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can not believe Boyata's red card appeal has been dismissed with video footage of the player being offside and him getting the ball before the man! Images should be released on this and calling out the cheats, Paranoid? Proof right there why we have no faith in the referees, SPFL or anyone on the disciplinary panel. Ciftci's kick out at Browns head overlooked last season being another example!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2016 19:21:18
The failed appeal and relevant suspension, with the probable recall of Ambrose is just another unsettling ingredient, just like the appointment of Collum for the cup game and we need to rise above it.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 19:27:43
It is astonishing that even with the use of video such a decision could be made. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you're wrong. Without any real evidence I was mocked for claiming that Rangers were institutionally corrupt cheats for years.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 01:24:12
Agree JT, Just shows how incapable people are at seeing the obvious. Really makes the game in Scotland look amateurish when even 3/ 4 people don't understand the offside rule as well as the linesman on the night and think its worthy of a suspension. It was actually a really good challenge, Crazy but good.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 16:33:52
It's clear everyone isn't happy with what's happening with the team and results at this moment. As ed001 pointed out below Ronnie clearly doesn't have the full support of certain players or the board which is a disgrace considering they are paid a huge sum and should act accordingly.

Just wondering if the performance of the team was good to watch, exciting etc but the results this season had been the same with us 4 points ahead and 10 games to go would you be happy with how the season had went?

In the name of all that's holy someone shake the board and get this sorted. We should be winning every game with ease not struggling against lower opposition. I can accept every body has a bad day but give me a break. We are becoming a laughing stock. If we don't win the title this year it will be a total disgrace. Ronnie has proven himself time and again to be shite. And Collins is complete garbage. Don't care who we bring in so long as they can motivate the players. Stubbsy. Yogi. In God's name even Mowbray could win this league. GET IT SORTED. Hail hail.

JOhn Collins was a shocking appointment. Should of got someone like Joe Jordan.

At last DN we agree, have been saying for months now that Collins should be nowhere near Celtic. I believe more so than ever that he's responsible for the obvious unrest in the squad. I don't believe for a second that him and Brown kissed and made up after the history they had at Hibs and i'm sure the truth about Collins arrogant ways will come out soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie John Collins was an abysmal appointment and I actually expected Scott Brown to request transfer. Would not be surprised if JC is trying to engineer moves to become manager.

Im worried its a real possibility. Lennon was a coach at club when appointed to take over from Mowbray. Deila was originally meant to be Lennons number 2. With ego Collins has, he must surely think he is in with chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 12:56:55
What is happening at Celtic just now remind me very much of what is happening in society.

In society we all got shafted by what the bankers were doing and instead of us directing our anger at the bankers and the politicians who passed legislation that allowed them to do it, we instead direct our anger downwards towards immigrants and the people on welfare.

Keep this is mind if you want to direct your anger to where it is most warranted.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

03 Mar 2016 14:04:26
@rabmac you need to stop and open your eyes our biggest problem is in tactics/tempo/form/confidence and team selection and they all come under ronnys remit. The problems higher up the ladder aren't justification for performances and results this season. You alluded to lawwell telling Ronny not to pick 2 players yet they started or came on last night why? If you ask Ronny to names his best starting eleven several times during the day I'm pretty sure he would come up with a different team each time and that is why we have a squad not 1 or 2 players could be unhappy behind the scenes ( commons Forrest stokes izzy Ambrose mcgregor bitton Cole Richards Armstrong) the list could go on. That is why Ronny should leave now before any further damage occurs to our title aspirations which was unthinkable but is becoming a possibility because I saw a team that was totally shot last night.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 14:43:25
Jim1972 I've backed Deila to hills and back but now want him gone after recent results. Problem is, its all very well blaming Deila but the root of the problem is the board.

Agree2 Disagree2

03 Mar 2016 14:50:31
Sorry dn30 totally disagree our biggest problem is at team level and the fact they don't look as if they know what they are doing and haven't for too much of this season. The board is a problem but not so easily fixed as no one wants to come in and takeover.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 15:15:05
Jim1972, seriously. Whilst a lot of performances and results have been poor. The way the club has been operating and downsizing has been going on for years. It really is you matey who needs to open your eyes. If you want rid of a weed you need to dig out the root, not cut off a leaf.

Agree6 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 16:42:38
Jim1972 selling our best players and replacing them with substandard quality is a problem that lies solely with the board. Peter Lawwell is quite happy to play trial and error, buy players in hoping they will turn a profit. This is effecting quality if player we have on field. No way is craig gordon a like for like replacement for forster.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 17:29:23
Ok jimtim tell us who is going to take over? I hear and read this about remove dd and pl etc but who is going to buy them out ?right now it's damage limitation so remove the weed and hopefully the board realise their foolish business plan and make changes.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 17:36:49
We know what the boards like, we know they're useless, and spineless, that's not the point though, the point is Ronny Deila should still be doing better with what he has! There was 9 internationals playing last night for us, I doubt there was any with Dundee! In life you make the most of your situation - whatever you think of Warburton, and he is super annoying, for me he's done a better job at them than our manager has done. And Ronny, the builder, has had more than double the time to do it! All the big clubs in world football have cliques, plenty have tyrants on the board also, and at least 50% will have other people helping to sign players! I admire your loyalty guys but it's getting ridiculous now!

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 19:22:17
Delphic, again though, which problem do you think is bigger? The board/ recruitment side of things or the head coach? If you think it's the head coach then unfortunately we'll have to agree to disagree.

Jim 1972, granted, replacing the major shareholders is easier said than done, in the current climate and situation anyway. But replacing PL and JP is much less problematic. They're the two who are making the bigger footballing decisions, but for me, aren't fit. RD wanted Elyounoussi, the aforementioned two went for CKR instead. When you break down their achievements, it's hit and miss, but the misses ar outweigh the hits. Our chairman too, for me, should probably be replaced but isn't priority numero uno either.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 12:37:51
I think fan ownership could be the way forward here way the club being ran the now is a joke fans run it they can do a better job way things are going on the park is disgusting to Watch were paying good money watch that it's time to take action of our own do a demonstration outside the front of celtic park only way force them out oh and hi Ed.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We need someone to get more out our squad than we currently are, lose against Morton and I'll be at the front door waiting to tell them who should go will you?

first of all we need get PL put club up for sale DD sell his shares to the share holders and the fans get the club sold for a decent price new owner means new manager and we are not going forward with PL and DD we are going backwards with tem just now there time is up new manager I wouid being in Brendan Rodgers.

Reading between the lines today and it seems that like in the old Sir Bob Kelly days - the manager does not actually pick the team.
Players, either in contractual dispute or are seen as a possible asset are pushed into the team.
No wonder moral, confidence and team spirit has evaporated.
It is also clear that there is an element within the dressing room that don't obey the manager - virtually sabotaging the season?
At the same time how can players respect a manager that is being undermined and over-ruled by Peter
Lawell - who has held the club back for four years, deliberately stalling for the arrival of Sevco. What kind of'Celtic minded' individual expects to get away with taking advantage of the support and the shareholders, while collecting his big fat bonus for failure on so many fronts?
The last time there was a 'revolt' to my mind was during the John Barnes tenure and it came to a head abruptly with a termination and a subsequent clear-out and that needs to happen again - only in a much grander scale.
Ronny Deila is a soft target; the real culprits are laughing all the way to the bank at our expense!

The way we are playing and the lack of confidence all around the club is very alarming and we are back to hoping rather than expecting to win at a very crucial time of the season.
RD has shuffled the pack looking for a solution, but too many so - called big players for Celtic are just not performing and there is a panic and desperation where in previous seasons we would have tackled the run-in with momentum, experience and assurance.
There is clearly a big problem within the ranks and if the worst case scenario happens then it's not just the manager that should get the bullet as most of these guys have done it before with ease and are letting themselves, the support and our club down and that's unforgivable.
It is highly unlikely we will change manager while still in with a chance of a double, but he is under tremendous pressure to deliver and the players do not seem to be fighting for him or the team.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 10:48:05
New people with a plan, ambition and fresh ideas should now be what the Celtic support demand. We can't even dominate Scottish football . How many diehards do you know that no longer go? The issue is a lot higher up than Ronny. 7 celtic fans i sat with in a pub in Edinburgh at the weekend and not one of them goes anymore because of the way the club is run they all say the same thing we are no longer the celtic they fell in love with. I've felt the same for the best part of 2 seasons. Managers and players leave because of poor performances, when will the Board leave their performance has been a disgrace Rangers died and they put a business model in place that has taken us backwards. Get them all out.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 13:04:05
I vowed years ago never to put another penny into the club while Lawwell and his cronies were still in charge.

What turned me off was how Lawwell tried to marginalise a section of our support and turn other supporters against them. It also angered me when the club did not back the fans fighting against the offensive behaviour at football bill. I could go on, John Reid, Living wage, Lord Torrie, etc. All of this highlights the fact that the board just see the fans as a big cash cow and have no regard for our rights or traditions.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Mar 2016 13:36:33
Vote with our feet and it won't take long to get these people out. Greatest football club on the planet being ruined by so called Celtic fans. The downsizing is embarrassing. Delia and Collins are a disgrace, and liewell not much better using rangers demotion to lower leagues as a excuse not to spend money on team, instead waiting on the return of rangers to league to spend the dosh they must have due to selling players like vm, vvd ect! I can't wait for them to return to premiership because at the minute it looks like we need them!

I really feel for Ronny. I was a fan and thought he would do well as I liked the way he spoke. But it just isn't working.
I think a lot of people at Celtic have to look at themselves and ask if they have gave everything.
Watching the game last night it was obvious a number of players aren't trying for Ronny. For me Scott brown is going through the motions and giving nothing, disgraceful for the club captain! He says all the right things at post match interviews, but his face and demeanour for me say I couldn't give a fat penguin.
He's not the only senior player not cutting it but he is the captain and should lead by example whatever the circumstances behind the scenes.
Does ed know what is being said behind the scenes? What's the plan? A cull of the players not buying into the new regime or is Ronny for the boot?
For me it has to be both now, which saddens me as I think Ronny could have done some good with the full backing of everyone. Fans included.

{Ed001's Note - I have said all along I know of players who were against Deila and making it as difficult as possible for him, one even said as much to me, though for obvious reasons I can't name him. I got shedloads of abuse on here for saying so, nothing has changed though. He still has players not bothering, he still has the board tying one of his arms behind his back, not just in terms of work in the transfer market but in terms of pressuring him to pick certain players to raise their 'sale value'. So I would not expect any cull, as there are a lot of players there Deila would have sold a long time ago if he could.}

03 Mar 2016 08:47:25
Well if there was ever a post to shed a bit of light on some individuals here, who ridicule the support of RD it was that one there. Thanks Ed001.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have to say I am not convinced Deila is the answer, but he has not had the chance to prove it one way or the other. It wouldn't matter who is in charge, change needs to come at a higher level before anyone will be able to create sustained success at European level. Well relative success I should say, as I am sure none of you expect Celtic to win the Champions League every year!}

03 Mar 2016 08:50:54
Ed don't waste your time.
There is no reasoning with the Ronnie out brigade. His family could be kidnapped and be forced to play a certain formation or player and they'd still moan.

Agree1 Disagree5

03 Mar 2016 09:00:36
My only issue with RD is that with such a cavaliar approach, you need better players than what we have, or you get found out and picked apart. Is such an approach at CL level too much of a step up? I'm willing to give the guy another pop because as you say he's only had his hands tied by people who are payed to help the club, but don't. None of us expect to win it. But qualifying every year, you give the whole club a better platform to attract the players required and make in roads. But the board haven't shown any ambition or reason to achieve that either. Like you say, our problems are, and have been for before RD, bigger than our head coach.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Leicester have been cavalier in their approach all season, I doubt their squad cost as much as yours, but they are doing well. The difference is they have a team who all want to play for them, those that weren't pulling in the right direction (even record signing Kramaric) were moved out. Celtic have never done the same, as the board only want to sell when there is profit in it, so they want players played to improve value for a sale, rather than just got rid of. This is the problem when running as a business entity is prioritised over the football side. The priority should be to put the best team on the pitch within budget, not making profits.}

03 Mar 2016 09:01:59
That's a disgraceful attitude for any professional player.
Do you know the reasons for the players not doing it for Ronny? Is it a personal dislike?
Do you think Ronny is going to keep his job with all this against him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - my personal opinion is that the player is just a lazy *censored* whose main issue seems to be not wanting to work hard in training. Though he makes numerous excuses, it always seems to come back to that. He just wants to lark about.}

03 Mar 2016 09:15:13
Well very worrying times ahead if the board intend to do nothing. The status quo just won't do.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 09:32:07
Does all of this not just prove that RD is not a strong enough individual. He is by definition a YES man. If he grew a pair, did his own thing and things improve, it would be difficult for the board to put pressure on him. If they then sack him, he could blow the lid on them. Unfortunately, when he goes, and he will, he will no doubt take the gag money to walk away quietly. If he walks quietly, other potential employers will just think he is a sh@t manager, if he blows the lid he might gain some respect. At present, he is piggy in the middle getting it from all sides. For his own sanity he needs to get out, if what Ed says is true.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he can't talk about it either way, his contract, as do all contracts these days, include clauses forbidding him to talk about club matters. Even if he quit, there is a very real possibility of him being sued for breach of contract if he spoke out. That is why I hate recent players being used as pundits, it is years before they are in a position to spill the beans and be entirely honest about their own career.}

03 Mar 2016 09:35:20
Hi Ed,

I think you have just reinforced what I already suspected and seen on the park with my own eyes.

Using the clues you gave I think the player you are talking about is either Commons or Forrest and my money is on Commons. However, I realise you cannot confirm this.

I also think Scott Brown has downed tools. I would guess he either has an issue with the board or the manager/ coaches or all.

Personally I would really like all the fans to stop going to matches until we have a clearout of the board and owners and get ones in who want to take us forward and respect the fans. We can dream.

"The priority should be to put the best team on the pitch within budget, not making profits. "

Nailed it. That's what I've been banging on about for years. The priorities are wrong and from a footballing perspective our transfer policy is flawed. Running a football club is different to running a chemical or pharmaceutical company. What I like about a lot of successful clubs is that they have footballing men making the financial decisions (obviously under degrees of guidance) , not financiers making footballing decisions.

Leicester are obviously the prime example at the moment Ed in terms of work ethic. I wouldn't grumble at some of their players mind, but that probably just shows again our poor levels of recruitment - even I suggested Kante on here before he moved to Leicester - but again you're right. The first thing you need is the willingness to work hard, learn and apply yourself.

You talk a lot of utter nonsense green lantern! You never say anything constructive or back up any of your arguments, you simply rave and rave away about people who have a different opinion to yourself and make them out to be having some sort of witch hunt! So just to be clear, because it's obviously difficult for you to understand - I'm not a Ronny hater, I like him, what I hate is the bloody football we're having to watch! This whole season has been a complete brass neck and everyone from the board to the players, via Ronny are complicit! I agree with Ed, I've heard stories also, it happens at every club though, you always get cliques, troublemakers, and it's becoming more and more the norm for the manager to not solely choose the players he signs! So it's not black and white! Ronny got the plaudits for last season ending well so a 5 year old kid would know that he also has to take it on the chin now! With identical circumstances Paul Hartley would have done a better job with us! I don't think he's quite ready but I like him! He's not the biggest in stature but he's got plenty of fire, he's got a bit about him! He's done great every year he's been in management, he's not had a bean to work with, he's made the most of it though! As the saying goes you adapt or you die! I want a change now!

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 10:26:52
Ed, as you say, if RD quit, there would be gagging clauses, but if he was sacked, all bets would be off. Is that not what is meant when they "part by mutual consent" as in paid to keep quiet. Can you not then tell then to keep the cash and spill the beans, not that anyone ever does! That only leaves a Kellyesque boycott to force change because there are no other options to the slow painful death.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - being sacked does not end your requirement to stick to contractual obligations.}

03 Mar 2016 10:41:04
If sacked, your contract is terminated. Anything after that would be by mutual agreement. Same clauses cannot apply when your are no longer an employee. This would be a breach of employment law. They can have no contractual hold over someone they no longer employ.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is simply not necessarily true. It is not that simple. You can be sacked by a company but still held to confidentiality clauses. I don't know where you got that rubbish from, but it is a load of bollards.}

03 Mar 2016 10:55:57
So how long can a former employer hold you to a clause in a contractual agreement, in a contract they have since terminated?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - seriously you need to realise that there are numerous circumstances that can make a confidentiality clause last well after the contract has ended. I really do not understand why you are having difficulty with this, otherwise no company would use them as it would mean any staff with access to confidential information would be unsackable! The terms are laid out in the contract, so it would really come down to that. Not sure what you are having difficulty with, sacking someone does not mean dissolving all agreements between you, that would be mutual termination of a contract, not being fired.}

03 Mar 2016 11:19:09
Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand how much of a hold an employer could have over an ex employee. If that is the deal RD accepted then I'm afraid the ones that walked away deserve respect, and by the same token RD has to accept all the criticism coming his way. He may have thought he could rise to the challenge, but if he knew the score, then the buck stops with him. He is a likeable guy, and he has my sympathy but he is the yes man most suspected he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - every employer potentially has that much of a hold if they choose to insert confidentiality clauses in an employment contract. Though I doubt Celtic's will be as onerous as say GCHQ, but they will certainly have some kind of confidentiality clause, which is why so little gets out about players' misbehaviour in football. Just ask Ryan Giggs about the potential for unwanted tales to escape without these clauses being in force.....}

03 Mar 2016 11:52:23
Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to work out who the individual is not trying in my view

Yeah in my working life I have signed confidential clauses keeping quiet and also keeping others quiet you breach it you can end up in court trust me on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2016 12:18:46
This is true, My last job had confidentiality clauses and also I couldn't work for a company of similar nature for 9 months and I couldn't work for a rival company within a 10 mile proximity for 9 months even after dismissal, So being sacked makes no difference. I think its BS really.

Forget all the theories about the board, players not wanting to play, confidentiality clauses, the only thing that no one can argue about is that Ronnie just is'nt a very good manager, he is a very good public speaker, but if you go back and listen to that lecture on youtube, and do it with a critical ear, I think you;ll find a guy that's just been winging it.

Are we better than we were a year ago?
Are we better than we were when RD took charge?

4 resounding no's! Even those people who have been fans of RD's througout his tenure must be ready to throw in the towel.

I'd give him til the end of the season as it's too big a risk to bring in a new manager who doesn't know the players with 10 games left and only a 4 point lead.

Need a good run up to the split now, Both Aberdeen and us have Hearts before then at Celtic park then Tynecastle. If we go into the split 7pts clear then the title should be in the bag if it is 4 or less then a defeat to Aberdeen is unthinkable as it might cost us the league. They have Rooney out and Hayes. Think we should ditch one of the holding midfielders and play another striker and go for it now to try take as much pressure off us in the split.

The fact with Ronnie is the only time he has picked a team that looked half decent with a bit of heart was the first team Lenny left for him, I just hope when he goes he is followed by many more including the top table, they should be ashamed of what they have let Celtic become, never in my life would I be worried of playing Morton, OK lighting does strike as we can all remember last time we played but I seriously believe they will give us a go, that's how bad I think we have become.
