I like to offer my attempts at humour to all sides of the footballing community in Glasgow (that translates as "us" and "them").
For some reason "them" don't like it and their Eddddddd chooses not to post anything I try to share with The Peepuls. How can this be??

Chris, it's because they lost their sense of humour last year whilst losing their identity. Franco

Thought fisher looked pretty good this evening not really bothered about the teams performance just 90 minutes of fitness under their belts. Ed what's going on with the site preferred it before and there's no link to football rumours on the LHS collum

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - There are some technical tweaking going on just now, some things need to be turned off as other parts are worked on.}

ha I don't know why I do it to myself year after year.

I always say i'm not going to watch the first few friendlies after getting myself wound up watching them in previous years. Stuttgart Kickers beating us last year had my face as red as a beetroot lol. I'm not as bad just now after that but seriously there isn't really a good thing I can say about that performance.

Maybe McGeouch's attitude, as he seemed the only one wanting to get back into the game and play till the final whistle. Possibly Kayal but then every single forward pass he made was a nightmare.

Balde miss from 6 yards out was one to forget. The winger Henderson who literally couldn't cross a ball if his life and that of his family depended on it. Tony Watt and Charlie Mulgrew's new hairstyles and the daddy of them all, Big Fraser throwing in there goal. Howler!

Aye another pre season friendly to forget lads. The usual lol

Just remember last season's were just as bad and we went on to win a double and get to the last 16 of the champions league so don't get yourself wound up like I inevitably do every year lol

It's a training game mate. I never bother my ass with them as it's just a muscle toning exercise. Maybe a better bus with wi-fi and a bed might have helped!. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a shocker for sure. I don't know why they just don't have a bounce match between themselves as that proved nothing and without being too critical was slightly embarrassing. It did prove though that having a few bob is no protection from getting a ridiculous haircut. I just hope Charlie does not go down the Darren Jackson and Tosh MCInlay fashion route. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

You pretty much summed it up barring the fact Henderson played centre mid along with Kayal and had a half decent first half! You didn't mention Mulgrews crossing!??
Balde does look lazy but I still have visions of him running onto through balls at parkhead ( yeah john wake up)
But Lennon did say he was raw!
Don't think giving the development squad helps mate.

If that lad played in the middle of the park then the the fact almost everytime I seen him collect the ball he was out left might have contributed to us losing the midfield battle for 90 mins. Admittedly between feeding and changing the wee man I missed small parts of the game but I lost count of the amount of times that young lad got the ball out on that far left side and flung a high ball over everyone or right into the keepers hands. Awful crosser of a ball. He looked comfortable with the ball at his feet though and his passing was good just that final ball was bad. Mulgrew had a poor game and his delivery was poor today without a doubt. Yip, a frustrating match indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its no more than a fitness workout with the fitness coaches and sport scientists having more say about who plays and how long for. A couple of years ago you would have had no idea games like this had been played.mark

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 5). agreed Mark. It doesn't really qualify as a proper match. Just a bit of a leg loosener and a chance for new ideas, tactics and players to be tried out on the pitch. I doubt there was a fired-up team talk before the game or at half time.

Guys, maybe we can all get real now about Vic Wanyama. Excellent player for us in so many games and had a great CL campaign last season. My question though is this.
If he is as good as some of you make him out to be, and the general opinion that he's worth multi-millions more than anyone else in the land, and the fact that he's as good as any other midfielder in Europe, then why haven't we had bids from Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan or any of the big clubs?
Is it because they don't know a good player when they see one, or is it possible that some of you look through rose-tinted glasses when talking about the value of our own players? Vic has been great for us but his actual standard is probably average EPL class. And that's a fact folks because that's the only real interest we seem to be getting, so forget your £15m and £25m ideas and move into the real world.
For the record, I'm surprised that the figures of £10m or £11m are even being discussed by clubs.

I agree to a point. I think the valuations were in some cases extreme. The EPL are very insular and arrogant, he would be seen to be untried to them. He did have some good games in the CL but was never the best man on the park.

I posted the same argument, why no Milan or Manchester United or Juve in for him.Because he plays in Scotland. Where I disagree is that if he moves to, let's say Cardiff, he will go for more money in 1-2 seasons. The reason is better players, both with and against, and a much more competitive fixture list will be the making of him.

We will make good cash from the deal.Take it and move on. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha i've been reading a lot of your stuff on here lately ChrisBhoy and its as clear as day your on looking to court a bit of controversy and wind people up. Absolutely no doubt about it. Saw you doing a character assassination on James Forrest not long ago calling him a wage thief to which a few people took exception. But seriously mate its getting laughable. I was trying to stick with you there until the bit about being surprised that 10 million is being discussed? Are you that out of touch mate, do you not see players being signed from league's like the Romanian, Croatian and Belgian leagues for fortunes. We are right to put big values on our players, at least they are playing champions league football whereas some young players are being signed from diddy league based on a bit of potential, a few glowing scouting reports and domestic league and cup performances. Wanyama could, and I say could go all the way to the top, to a club chasing Champions League glory. Even the pessimistic english commentators and ex players were saying the same thing game after game in the biggest club competition in the world last season. They are paying for potential, but he has already proved he can do it against Barca, twice. As far as a gamble goes in the filthy rich climates of the premiership this is an absolute no brainer. He has everything in his game and a calm collected head on his shoulders to boot. Massive potential and only just turned 22.

There's no doubt some people get carried away with the prices they some out with and your of course entitled to your opinion buddy but I feel you undervalue our players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chrisbhoy celtic are spot on as are the fans who think wanyama is valued at the millions quoted. When one looks at the outrageous amount of millions spent by epl clubs on pretty average players
andy carroll and jordan henderson are two of many who are not worth a fraction of what was paid for them. For too long scottish teams have been ripped off by epl clubs with regards to transfer fees, so why shouldn, t celtic try and get the best offer possible for wanyama.jimbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

It was alway real!
He was never going to fetch "25mil"
The 11 12 13mil with ad ons was always going to be the fee witch isn't far off your lowest est of 15mil.
Celtics evaluation has been met, so that was what celtic where happy to take for him!
The guys a star and will get better in a better set up, some person,
And I mean a person who pays a similar position went for 8mil down there 2 days ago, so it give you an estimate into what they value players from up here, who mostly aren't great anyway!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 2). Was it me who called Jamesy a wage thief? Check that out again and let me know where I said it. And then you can apologise!
But I do agree with the courting controversy bit. I like it. It's good for the soul, but only if it's relevant and if a good argument can be put up for it. I like to call a spade a spade and if I think you or anyone else is talking pants then I'll say so. But I'll always back it up with fact.
Wanyama is still over priced by the way, and at this point in time no team has paid anything for him.

@ everyone else. there have been too many "great" SPL players who have moved south and not made the grade. That's why we can't get bigger fees for our top players. I've listed them before and I'm not going to waste time doing it again.

ChrisBhoy I've no way of finding that thread now but I will take your word for it and I apologise. Any chance you might have been commenting on the same thread and that's how I've come to think it was u?

I'm right in saying your not a Forrest fan though yes?

Btw Wanyama is worth 11 million all day long. Tom Ince 8 Million to Cardiff, Jonjo Shelvey 6 million plus add ons to Swansea today. He's a far better prospect than either of those two and that's why Celtic will get 11 million plus add ons for him. {Ed007's Note - But will Shelvey be able to show he can make the step from LFC to Swansea?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive seen him play he's the real deal. I've seen some good players at Parkhead and not tipped them for the hights I expect Wanyama to hit. mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes l did comment on that thread about Jamesy. I said we should sell him. Its not that l don't like the guy, more a case of being frustrated by him. He has the potential to be much better than he has been so far. Am l the only one who thinks he has believed his own hype too much?

i went and watched falkirk three times last season
{ celtic were away the following day, so it was westfield or shopping } and always one stand out .

lyle taylor, might have what it takes . he is big, strong and fairly young . he got 24 goals from 34 games last season . and before you all start, I know even if hoops goes, we still have stokes, watt and balde .
i'm not saying we should go and buy him, but I think we should be keeping an eye on him from now til the january window .

or we could buy . 1. 2. hundred grand and loan him back to falkirk, it's not a huge gamble . shammy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would have agreed with you Shammy till I saw the boy in the cup semi.I thought he was pretty poor and missed a couple of fairly easy chances. Maybe he is at his level? From what I hear the boy Atajic is highly rated, I would like to see him get some game time. green jhedi

Totally agree looks good or maybe sign him then loan him to an spl team like Dundee utd Aberdeen see how he copes there. Gandalf the green

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, buy him for £150k and give him to Jackie McNamara for a spell. It'll upset sevco, they like him.

Had a wee chuckle when I heard about Ally turning the tables on Traynor which has probably already been rehearsed word for word but instead of spouting nonsence about his so called tactical philosophy and how he wants to grill Traynor for what he wrote when we were liquidated. Its wasnt just Traynor who said we are a new club, our new chairmen wished the new Rangers all the best as did Gough and Naismith, once the newco was formed.Lets just give this nonsense about history a rest and make sure we don't get in that state again and yes I am a season ticket holder it still makes me laugh.
