I was wondering what your readers thought about Griffiths starting on Wednesday.
Given the controversy from Sundays match and maybe his delicate mental health prehaps also to remind him of his duty to his team mates and to the club. It would also give Kilmala a chance to show us what he can do. With the ammount of games coming up he will get another chance to redeem himself and concentrate on what he is paid for, to score goals.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'd 100% start LG on Wednesday, yesterday's incident has been blown completely out of proportion and if he doesn't start it'll just keep it dragging on with people saying "oh did Lennon drop him for being a naughty boy" and probably worse.
We definitely should stop bringing LG's mental health into every discussion about him as well. If he wasn't in a good place he wouldn't be in the squad, it's as simple as that.}

03 Feb 2020 21:57:04
His mental health issues is in the past, he is on form, playing well and certainly does not deserve to be dropped. There is a witch hunt by the media against him and you are clearly taken in by it.

It was accident he was trying to take the pressure off first foot and that's why other foot stamp.

03 Feb 2020 22:53:52
The media hysteria is ridiculous and everyone and their dug (even that wee McFadden) has felt the need to chip in his tuppence worth.
My only concern would be an over-zealous official going OTT as a result of the biased backlash and looking to appease the 'people'.

The McGregor leg breaker was far worse yet they focus on Griffiths.

Was never intentional. As usual the media trying to turn something into something it’s not.

03 Feb 2020 23:33:07
Good point Ed about LG and the media if he is rested.
On the incident, I wonder how many of us on here would be screaming if moron less had done the same thing or any other player against a Celtic player.
I will be honest, I would probably demand a red card.
Having watched it again, not 100% convinced there was no red mist moment which he pulled back out of when realisation hit.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2020 09:17:58
He's playing well why would we leave him out and it was never a red.

04 Feb 2020 15:51:36
I, too, hope Griff plays as he is a great striker and I believe his partnership with Edouard is bringing the best out of Edouard also. I just hope that the SFA allow him to play and they don't allow all the crap on social media influence them to upgrade Griff's yellow to a red. I find it interesting that how the incident has been viewed follows party lines according to whether we support Celtic or Rangers. It's a bit like the Morelos cut throat gesture and he didn't get a further ban as a result and I'm happy about this because I honestly do believe he was saying that it doesn't matter that I've been sent off as the game is over and we have won. Having lived many years in America and then Italy I have seen the sign used often to mean stop, enough, cut etc and to be honest never really in a way which is a threat unless it is one finger (index) drawn across neck, which Morelos didn't do. I honestly don't think what Griff did was a malicious stamp on a player which merits a red card and I hope if they decide to review the incident it will not be to rubber stamp a condemnation of Griff in the media but to honestly look at the incident in an unbiased way (if possible) and in that scenario I don't believe there is anything to worry about and Griff can celebrate by giving us a goal on wednesday.

Europa league opponents Copenhagen missed 3 out of 4 penalties in a shoot out defeat in the Atlantic cup today. Although I'm not expecting them to take us to penalties.

Gogic and Ogkmpoe would be good additions to the squad at the end of the season, when Accies are relegated.

{Ed007's Note - That's called MOTD fever, how many times have you seen them this season?}

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 22:53:17
Ffs Ogkmpoe has scored 2 goals this season and Gogic was at the heart of a defence that shipped 4 going on 7 yet was almost given MVP and made the team of the week in most rags, we should not be looking at any players from Scottish teams unless they are by some distance the best player at their club and a young age, a better strategy would be to pick up the best players from our Euro qualifiers as we are normally a much bigger club.

A tough well fought out win yesterday the sevvie press were praying for a slip up and the multitude of expletives like wonderful marvellous and phenomenal being used for Hamilton’s performance is baffling?

It’s easy to set up two banks of 4 and stifle the space and in the end the champs ran out worthy winners. The whole deflective onslaught currently being churned out by the press stating poor wee fredo is hard done too! and it’s nothing to worry about slippy g is still the main man and the December Glasgow derby cup holders are still the best in the country is embarrassing let the churn out there crap it just magnifies their pain and I’m loving it. the quadruple treble is on and that could very well finish them off! Hail hail folks 😂🍀🏆🏆🏆.

It was a 'pure sickener' for Sevco lovers and Celtic detractors everywhere, the way the team came out of yesterdays game on top.
The media dissection of their red card and criticism of the referee for not sending off LG is verging on hysteria.
Watching the highlights again today and their 'last-man' red was pretty cut and dried, while Griffiths seemed to have his foot held by the grounded defender which causes a trip - not a deliberate stamp.
What cannot be debated is the repeat of last seasons post-break faltering by Slippy's Select after our Hogmanay hangover 2.

I'll tell you what was wonderful, marvellous and phenomenal - that boy Gogic he won everything and was by far man of the match. If we had a fearless CB like him we'd score more and concede less from set pieces👍.

I didn't appreciate yesterday quite how good our third goal was yesterday but Eddy's close control of the ball in tight spaces, Rogic's pass and the finish were all absolutely sublime. Fair play to Hayes as well. I give him stick so he deserves the praise when he does well and I thought he really helped us.

I just wanted to say this about our run of away games since after the winter break, we have played so many more away games in a row than any other club and we still have Motherwell, Livingstone and Aberdeen away games still to come.
Yes, I know all clubs must play the same number of games home and away (well NOT always after the split) but to have such a run of away games is patently unfair, but give Lennon and the team credit they are coping well with these away fixtures so far.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Feb 2020 12:14:42
In fairness Tim I’m sure the other mob had a good few away games in December.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 12:29:38
No point whining about fixtures when you don't complain about the good run we had in December. This run looks worse also due to 2 cup matches away. I also don't see the point in fans moaning about the post split as Celtic are part responsible for this league set up and anomalies are regular every season. We have a bigger and better squad than every other team so let's just win the league wether it's Aberdeen/ hibs away 3 times. 🍀.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 13:09:20
Life's not fair. We all play the same amount of games. And some times it goes for you or against you. There's no big conspiracy here.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 14:01:06
Irrelevant when they are, still need to win them.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 14:13:11
There is no conspiracy but we will be playing away to 2 top 6 clubs for a third time this season after the split because I can’t see the current top 6 clubs changing.
The positive thing is next season when we are going for 10 in a row, if those same clubs get into the top 6 then Sevco will get the harder run in.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2020 15:27:17
The only way to resolve this fixture problem is do away withe split, I find it a complete waste of time and benefits no one. The team in seventh if the points were close could finish in the top three and wouldn’t qualify for europe, just go back to 19 home and away.

Guys, here's a wee comment for you all to consider.
BROONY
I know some fans think he doesn't create much going forward and others will say he's getting too old and others will say something else and it may be positive or negative but overall, since he came to Celtic, his contribution has been immense for us.

He is a leader off the pitch as well as on it. He makes mistakes from time to time (as any player does) but he is a true Celtic legend. Let's make sure we appreciate him while we have him because the time is going to come soon when we could be complaining about not having a leader in the team. Broony, you'll do for me son! HH.
