A win and 3 points, enough said.

I'm not a fan of going to a football ground and ripping it up so definitely not condoning any daft behaviour (if that's what happened) BUT what is the story with Hearts since Sunday? The penalty decsion was poor but can they not vent their displeasure at the referee like any other fans would do.

Decent statement from Celtic in response to their comments and absolutely spot on with the treatment of some of our fans, players and Managers at Tynecastle.

I never took much notice of the EL last season but seen the other day Salzburg beat Ajax 6-1 aggregate. This is the same Ajax we played in the CL last season.

Happy enough we'll have Guidetti for the last 32, only issue is Salzburg have 3 Guidetti's. Ideally, I'd like to see us strengthen in a few positions but could settle for another decent centre back and defensive mdfielder in January.

I think Mrs E that if we get Guidetti signed up and don't lose Virgil in January, we will have our lot . Tonight I thought Tonev showed a bit and Johannson played his best game . Craig Gordon is called on less and less which has to be a good sign .

Agree3 Disagree0

Honestly Chris, our defence is still a bombscare to me. I don't feel confident at all.

Its one thigs facing a Scottish Club but I don't know who we'll get in the last 32, we just can't seem to deal with decent attacking players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs E, it's not necessary the two centre defenders who are the cause of the bombscare, rather it's the attacking minded nature of the whole team . Everyone bar Gordon seems to have licence to move forward with or without the ball. It's inevitable that we are going to have problems defending if our entire team can be caught thinking of attacking . I am not sure changing personnel will necessary leave us much more water tight at the back . Once we start converting our chances, we won't be as perturbed about leaving the odd opening at the back.

Delighted we got the win and a wee clean sheet with it.

3 games in 6 days and the fitness levels showed we are well on our way to getting the pressing game for 90 mins per game.

All I can say is we defo need to be more clinical in the final 3rd.

Apart from that, am a happy bhoy indeed.

Good result considering the time frame you mentioned. thought Biton was, again, excellent he must be in ahead of Charlie now.Stokes again a let down.

hopefully lenny has some money to spend at bolton and mulgrew and stokes are top of his list. bitton came on at half time and it looks as though we have a better shape in the team when he's in there

Agree0 Disagree0

Och i'm just going to say it :-)

None of the team were anything other than average and below, infact it was a bit gash. Last 10 mins was nervy but pleased we got the win and 3 points.

@ Mrs E - I think you were watching a different game from me as I thought we dominated the match from start to finish.

I thought Virgil, Johansen & Bitton had excellent games.

Yes, I will admit that we lacked that touch of class in the last third but saying that I thought Thistle closed us down well and made it hard for us to penetrate them because they had so many men behind the ball.

There is obviously room for improvement and hopefully Ronny can get 2-3 players in during the next transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bitton has to be started, we looked far more composed and dangerous with him on the pitch.

I think we have to accept Mrs E that with teams playing so defensively we are not going to see they football we want.

Always said I am willing to allow time for RD and I can certainly see improvements all over.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought that in our last two domestic games we played a more attractive style and slung together some nice passes . We need to be more clinical in front of goals, maybe Stokes and Tonev could pass more and others could be more greedy .

Agree0 Disagree0

Not just me Rab, Ronny as well -he called the performane ordinary and nothing more.

It was a win and I'll take that anyday but the performance was not the best

Remembering the good times

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Tony 2 Bhoy, what is the significance of your point .

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing really just love seeing the king of kings play as I thought most on here would to and the good times I had watching him grace our great club

disappointed to see bitton not keep his place but its good to see him coming on at half time. Team has looked good again, dominant in possession and becoming more fluid up front imo.

tonev has been impressive especially.

good movement from tonev but I just wish he would pass the ball and not always shoot. was the same at villa and maybe that is what limits his game time

anyone know where forrest is? i'm glad he isn't in after his we strop at the weekend anyway

Agree1 Disagree0

Never seen him play for villa so I wasnt aware it was a trait. Perhaps it is an issue or maybe it is him trying too hard to impress.

dont know about forrest but I agree with you that he needs to cut that out!

Also, VVD was great today. I think sometime we expect an awful lot from him because of his clear potential.

Thought stokes decision making was poor again the night I dunno how he's an automatic starter every game

Don't buy papers so I don't know if there is any proof of the alleged vandalism by Celtic fans at Swinecastle, but I have been spat at and called many a sectarian name by bigots among the Hearts fans.
The reports will obviously be slanted and selective as usual as they see another opportunity to attack us; but
I would honestly say that it is the worst ground for bigotry based bile - and I have witnessed it at Fir Park, Rugby Park and Ibrox over many years.
I say again if the authorities and media (haw haw) treated sectarianism half as vigorously as they do racism and racist abuse this country would be a much better place to raise our kids.

Well you should defo buy papers tomorrow. The mighty alloa will take up most of the pages. Well done to them. Fat Sally's record just gets better. They deserve everything that comes to them that lot. Shambles. Pity they don't have fans like us because sure as he'll we wouldn't sit back and do nothing. They grump and moan about this and that but wot in actual fact have they done bout it. Nothing. They just wait for things to happen because they are the people. Rubbish supporters if u ask me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jungle Jim . I don't know how buying papers in Scotland would validate claims about alleged broken seats .

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris - they may have shown pics of the alleged damage, as there was no evidence on the TV report I saw OK?

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye, they could show pictures of alleged damage, and what prove would that be . As far as I am concern, I wouldn't know if it was from the home section or away, or was the damage after Celtic's game or maybe some other club eg the new club .
The bias of the Scottish media over the years means I, and many other Celtic fans, don't believe a word they say or write .

I would like the board to push the boat out and get Wakaso and Guidetti, it would strengthen us in two much needed areas ad thy have really impressed. On that note we need to offload Pukki, Borreighter, Maybe a few young players who don't make the cut to make wages available and to get a few transfer fees. I'd maybe give Balde another go but we need two center backs badly when Virgil goes and Denayer, Aramstrong would be a good kid to get.

Hail Hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wassako? Sorry no Belfast, he is another who has done little to warrant a contract. Like sepovic he has scored one decent goal in Europe and that is it. I think I read on here that if we want to buy him the figure quoted was 4 mill. I most certainly wouldn't waste that on him, actually I wouldn't spend 1 million on him. Which Armstrong to you mean for center half? I'm assuming you mean the lad from dundee unt. If so he's a center midfielder. I wouldn't mind bringing him to celtic to see if he could make the step up actually, but not as a defender. Markie

Agree1 Disagree0

Think you all are being a bit unfair on Scepovic has he's hardly been given a fair crack of the whip!

Agree0 Disagree0

How many cracks of he whip has he had? And how many does he need? Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he should get the rest of the season to try to get in the first team

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will get the rest of the season as nobody will want him, but the fact he couldn't make the bench for the last game and we could have even more fresh faces in January would suggest he isn't going to get many more chances. He will need to make the most of any he does have. Markie

MarkieBhoy, The Armstrong comment was meant to be separate, We need two replace the current two center backs and i'd rather have Armstrong than Mulgrew , I'd love to see Mulgrew as cover for Izzy pushing him to set up more. I'd maybe take a punt on John Souttar, I like the youth system at Dundee United at the minute so maybe i'm being abit bias. I didn't know Wukaso would be 4mill , I 100% wouldn't get him for that much, we need a pacey winger i'd like to get Anya if Watford would part ways
