{Ed007's Note - I'm a Fairhill Bhoy mate, we just went where ever we wanted back in the day ;) My first boozers as an under-ager was The Hilltop and the old Hibs club in Hamilton, over the years I have drank in Guys and The Woodhead a few times, but it was more the Mill Inn or the Well, then for years our supporters bus dropped us at The Manor/Quarry after games, then onto Docs or Hemingways before the Palace, or up to the Wee Dram if we were heading home. On respectable nights out the Cadzow Welfare was our destination. What about yourself (I won't publish it if you don't want me to, I'm just being nosy).
Have a read at this and see if it helps clear up some of your questions:

Then there was so many of us barred off different buses we got the train for a while before starting the bus that used to leave from Fairhill Civic and pick up the Auld Toon Bhoys at ASDA. A lot of the Fairhill Bhoys stopped going to games and wee McCourt took over running it from Hemingways.}

Do you think Frantz Fanons philosophy could be
used to describe Celtic fans rationale about rangers
Scenario e.g, their deid, zombies, etc etc . but
they're still playing in blue, still at Ibrox, same fans
whatever anyone thinks of them, they're playing the
game tremendously well, and we're all part of it by
commenting on it on a regular basis, what do the rest
of you think .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It can be applied to a lot more than just the the football that the club Ibrox thrives on.}

Wonder if you could tell me why my user name is banned please. Mmi2009

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ED007 I read that the so called Sevco action group are planning to "march on the front door at Ibrox tonight" my question is "can you tell me what the door has supposed to have done.? Timalloy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know mate, I doubt it's walked away. Is this the Sons of Struth Demand the Gourock Truth mob? I never arranged any march for tonight...... strange ;) I better get a move on and get through there. It could be a mutiny......}

Is it The popular Front of Sevconia or The Sevconian Peoples Front?

{Ed007's Note -AB, French writer, philosopher and revolutionary Frantz Fanon once said:

Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that doesn't fit in with the core belief.

If you even glance over Fanon's background you will see how fitting this is.}

My only concern will be when we end up meeting them for the 1st time.

Reason being ticket prices - if there the same as say Aberdeen £20ish then yeah ok there a new club. Charge £40+ then why we paying over the odds for a division 2 team? Ball is in the boards court. Charge more they will call it a old firm. Charge less - then they have done the right thing but won't make as much money as they would say 2 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

F*ck me ed where do you pull this stuff from? you should be a politician mate lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No way I would join that bunch of chancers lol I could make guys like Tommy Sheridan and Gorgeous George look tame when I get started if I was a better speaker. I am not a good speaker and can get a bit self-conscious about it at times, that's why I have never done any podcasts or anything like that when I've been asked.}

Hang on to the carcus even though it's rotten and decaying a.d stinks lol that was some philosophy there ed

It's called govanitis up here lol

It shows how stupid clowns like elbows are, they take the blame for nothing, couldn't believe he blamed the artificial surface for bad contact at his penalty miss.

@ (1) Lenny if we're charged more, it'll be
to cover the costs of policing, ( security )
you could do what some fans will do,
Just don't go .

Ths why wouldn't some fans go?

@ Monkeybhoy,
Quite a few of us share the view that
they should'nt be in existance and our
board are partly culpable in not outing
them . I will always give my support in
Merchandise and ST, but will never go
to another Celtic vs Rangers game, I can't
Separate old club new club, they should
not be allowed to carry on in any guise
I know I'm in the minority but hey -ho,
Its only my opinion . Cheers bud .

Agree0 Disagree0

Should you not just be treating them like any other new club then surely by boycotting your accepting them as the same

Ive noticed Mulgrew getting a lot of stick on here over the past week or so about his season so far.
I really must watch different games as I feel up until a couple of games ago he has been our most reliable player. If you include his Scotland games he has had an excellent start to the season.

Funny how we all see a game different.

joeshmo1888

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A think he has been a consistently good player this season with out shining, he's not been poor enough to deserve stick for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I agree mate, was scared to say, I think he has been excellent in midfield too. Nl and wgs will play him for the quality of his dead ball delivery alone.
one of the first names on the team sheet for me
bowbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Mulgrew has been one of the three worst performers all season- closely followed by samaras and Forrest, who all fall into the managers favourites category. Some players just seem to get more stick than others for some reason, take izzy for example he takes pelters most weeks for doing exactly what the manager sends him out to do- he clearly gets told to bomb up and down the wing with emphasis on attacking rather than defending, then when he gets caught out of position he gets slaughtered by the support. The rational behind he must be getting those clear instructions from the manager are if he is failing to carry out the managers instruction he wouldn't get a starting slot the next week.
I admit that Mulgrew does have a decent set piece in him but what are his other attributes that guarantee him a starting place every single week in midfield ahead of superior players like Ledley?

Jd

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 he seems to have caught the eye of the Scotland manager playing in midfield. He reads a game well can pick a pass good in the tackle and good in the air, what more can u ask for a siting midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo he's got away with playin in midfield domesitcally but in the cl this season he got found out that he's not good enough 2 play

GunnieBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Never a midfield player in a million years and it shows especially in Europe. We have midfield players sitting on the bench who should be given a chance when there is an injury to a central midfield player. Mulgrew is a best a Central defender or left back. Playing him in Central mid before Joe Ledley is a joke!

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 the game is all about opinions, personally I feel Mulgrew lacks the finesse of a Celtic midfielder; his fitness seems to be lacking, when he loses the ball (often) he barely breaks sweat tracking back, his awareness of what's happening around him is terrible, decision making very suspect and given his size he isn't great in the air and he is amazingly one footed for a professional football player.maybe it's
just a sign of the times we are living in and he is the quality of player we can attract. You don't have to be the best player in the world but at least you can be up there with the fittest and give 100% all the time, it's no surprise that the 3 managers favourites (Mulgrew, samaras & Forrest) are also the three who try least when they lose the ball, wee james throws the tantrum and his arms in the air, Charlie just strolls back and big Sammy well he just does the Sammy thing!

Jd

Agree0 Disagree0

Certainly is about opinions there's you saying not very good in the air then somebody els thinking his best position centre half.
That's a couple of players getting singled out for European performances, there isn't many that got pass marks in Europe and for me he has done a decent enough job in midfield in the SPL certainly doesn't deserve criticism

Agree0 Disagree0

MB I think @6 suggested he was AT best a central defender or left back, the argument is really do we consider "decent performances" good enough for Celtic? Are we happy to accept second rate players as regulars in the first team? Where do we want to be. feasting at the top table or fighting over the scraps they put our way. There was a time not in the too distant past when you would maybe say 3 players in the first team could easily be replaced, nowadays you would struggle to pick 3 you would keep. I just expect and want better for Celtic, and the more we paper over the cracks and accept a guy gets a first team jersey every week because he can take a free kick and is the managers pal the less likely it is that the team will ever improve.

Jd

Agree0 Disagree0

I read above he constantly loses the ball. I disagree, he is one of the few who keeps possession well.
Never let's the side down. Always good for a late goal(Dundee utd 1-1).
Can play in many positions. I just hope he doesn't go like last year, I felt the last couple of months he was out on his feet as Lenny never rested him.

joeshmo1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough m8. A would love better than what we have a just think playing in our league holds us back. He certainly didn't just become sh*t as some poster may think, he had a gr8 2nd half of his 1rst season back, the next season he was immense his performances have probably dropped a bit, maybe we will see him dropped if bitton can perform well.
