I'm happy with howe as manager as he's a proper hands on coach similar to rodgers and hopefully he can get his own close assistants in and the rest is made up of the best individuals for the jobs so we can plan long term if howe leaves he's not taking loads of staff with him.
Hopefully we also get a way of playing and play that from the 1st team right down to the under 13s playing first year at 11 a side, to make the transition from youths to first team a easier transition .
We need to try and use the ajax model more with a mix of experience and youths or we would be aswell scrapping the youth squads.

There a number of problems with our setup.

1. Ajax and Holland in general tend to use their best coaches at youth level.

2. The youth players have a route into the team at Ajax.

3. At Celtic you need to win every game or you are under pressure and it is constant. Therefore, many managers don't play youth players as they often have a better player on the bench and know if they don't get results they are out of a job.

But how can u expect a lad who plays under age football in the colts to suddenly be able to go into the first team? Most other leagues have reserve football or some level higher than colts. Its one thing to play against 18 and 19 year old guy and another playing reserve football against a seasoned pro. We would be better loaning these guys to teams in the spfl to gain proper experience.

That's why we need to sort out staff behind the scenes cause very few will go straight through to first team, some will need loaned out to get experience before coming back but we need to get a structure in place to help and hopefully we get our own colt team in the 2nd division.

The tempo and passing were improved but this was a second string 1st Division team with 8 changes from their last game and two 17 year olds in their starting line up. I think we need to hold off on s bit of the excitement putting everything into perspective.

This is a game we would have struggled with under Lennon. While I am not getting carried away with the result, I am optimistic that we could be about to turn a corner.

Why is Griff rogic and Christie even that's our problem these guys are not doing it for and that been months now just have a look at the all our games we are not putting ball in the net I so hope big changes next season as they can go.

That’s why Christie should be offered a new contract. People have short memories as far as Christie is concerned. He has been one of our best players in the last couple of years. Semi Final against Hearts, Final against Aberdeen.
He doesn’t become a bad player overnight. Lennon has a lot to answer for. Not only for Christie, but for several other players.

Christie has been poor this season but if he is going to sign a new contract, then I am happy to keep him. When he is fully fit and playing with confidence, he is very energetic, well suited to the press and is a good goal threat.

Yes he has been poor this season but an on form Christie is easily Celtic beat attacking player 17 goals 20 odd assists and the season was cut short easily he would have got 25 the form he was in I think every player has under performed this year mcgregor Christie Ajer is the spine of the team build around that.

Guys I have been doing OK with my each way bets at biggish odds and also had a couple of decent priced winners at Cheltenham. I am betting with bookmakers money again which makes a nice change.
Next week is the Grand National and Easter Monday is the Irish Grand National I have a couple of horses in mind for both if anyone is interested.

If appointed Howe will only be the third English manager in our history. We have had four Irish managers. We've now had 19 managers in total. Lennon and McNeil were the only managers to manage us twice. The next manager will be our 20th. When I saw Celtic play for the first time we were only on our 4th manager and for many on here it would have been out 3rd. It shows the extent of Celtics history we've lived which is quite amazing.

Anyway have a nice Holy Saturday lads.

I’ve just noticed your question, if Joe Jordan was in charge for one game.
Joe Jordan did take over from Liam Brady but only for ONE DAY.
Joe felt that also stepping down was the right thing to do.
Frank Connor took over for a few games until Lou Macari was appointed.

That’s what I was thinking.

Mowbray single handedly dismantled a team and his donkey purchase ratio was phenomenal. Barnes was a disaster who went further down in my estimations after his recent comments.

I think we played some of the best football I’ve watched over the years under Tommy Burns and Liam Brady.

Morning ED007 the stock exchange re opens in Tuesday does that have an impact on when Celtic will make any changes to our club?

Someone told me as long as they are informed before opening of the next business day so they could announce him today as long as the SE are formally informed by Tuesday but someone else thinks we need to wait until Tuesday and the SE need to know before any public announcement.}

However, did we not announce Neil Lennon as the manager after a cup game at the weekend?

Based on that I would assume that a managerial appointment is not governed by the same rules as a board appointment.

I agree with you LAW, any individual (s) moving into a position on the board Director level and above, would be required to be announced to the LSE as per due process but not other employees inc the Manager.

He's very impressive Jonbhoy. Clearly a real thinker and strategist. I can't say for sure but I don't think Lenny falls into that style of calm and focussed coaching and perhaps that has ultimately been a major factor in our play over the last couple of seasons. HH.
