So CG plays tomorrow night because SB can't play against parent club, well I hope Bain gets the gloves back for the weekend

The boy has not put a foot wrong in my eyes.

Bain is also Cup Tied for the Semi. IMO Gordon will be in Goal for the next few games.
As Henry is also Cup Tied I can see Ajer and Jozo playing as the Central Defence pairing. I don't think we'll play a back 3 against Sevco.
Then again I'm not the Manager, any thoughts folks?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Bain isn't cup-tied. I thought that too until the other week but I'm certain it was reported he was when we signed him. He was on the bench for Hibs tie with Hearts - the current rules state a player has to take the field in a game to become cup-tied - and our bench for the Partick and Morton ties.}

03 Apr 2018 20:05:07
J7 give him the gloves back he’s not put a foot wrong! I love a wee mixed metaphor brother. I remember reading an article 20 odd years ago it might have been in the Daily Rager which I wouldn’t wipe my proverbial with now that said ‘Somewhere down the road Celtic’s ship went off the rails’. 😂 Agree totally and I’m a minority CG fan SB has been excellent as has the young laddie Hendry. 👍☘️.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Apr 2018 20:06:56
Ed, that’s great news about Bain. I’ve been impressed with his performances so far. Let’s hope we’ve found a gem but he’ll need to play a lot more games before we’ll really know if this is the case.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Bain's proven that he's at least a capable No.2 for us. I'll be happy if we can get him on a free but I'd still like a new No.1 to come in.}

03 Apr 2018 21:12:33
I like what I've seen of him so far but I would like to see a bit more of him before deciding if he is good enough to be the number 1.
I don't know what his situation was but if he wasn't holding down a first team spot at Dundee or Hibs then he must have some weaknesses in his game.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Bain had a major falling out with Neil McCann and was suspended by Dundee, up until then he was their No.1 and he only joined Hibs on the 1st of January basically to get away from McCann. I've said for a few years that he was a good 'keeper but like you I'm not convinced he's ready to be our No.1, especially when it comes to Europe.}

03 Apr 2018 21:32:42
Could be wrong but I think I remember reading it was a contract dispute. Dundee wanted Bain to sign a extension but he intended to let his contract run down so McCann decided to let him rot on the bench.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He never even made their bench, Kev, he was officially suspended by Dundee. He was fined for something that happened after Dundee's 3-1 loss to Accies and refused to pay it and as far as I know the PFA are still appealing the fine.}

03 Apr 2018 22:15:07
Let’s not get carried away with Bain as a number 1 or as second choice. I am no CG fan or De Vries fan but Bain for me is not the solution. No better than CG, so don’t mind what one of them is number 2, just need a much better first choice keeper. Neither are that.

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Apr 2018 10:09:08
I think BR would not have any of the those keepers in the team if he did not rate them and it give's him an the option to rotate and learn from each other.

I think we should give the keepers more credit than we do, as they where involved in the teams unbeaten run/ titles/ cups as well, they kept goal through the CL/ CL.

Bain and the young keeper out on loan are the future if they can cut it. IMO i would like to buy a keeper and i know they are not cheap.

Anyone got stats on goals conceded while the 2 main keepers have been at Celtic. I don't know if that means they are good or the team was good protecting them. hai hail.

Jonace I think the folks from the Dark Side have paid our site a visit. Just jealous we have Broony.

Agree2 Disagree3

03 Apr 2018 20:49:47
GT10 I reckon I’m top of the Huns thumbs doon league largely due to having stated I consider Broony to be a great Celtic captain and being top of the Huns thumbs doon League is the ultimate compliment. Maybe the Ed’s could have an annual prize fior the maist Huns thumbs doon? You’d think in this IT world of ours in 2018 their must be some way to stop them infiltrating our ranks by smell or something although I’m no IT whizz kid? ☘️.

Oh the rangers are shoite
All the ragers are raging

Que the thumbs down brigade. Battle for thirds heating up. Cm on the Hibernian.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 13:02:27
I would remove the thumbs up/ down options or at least have an extra box for thumbs down where you have to put something before it is accepted. If you leave it blank then it does not get accepted. If you just type in a load of letters then they appear as such and show what a moron you are. Just my tuppenceworth.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - We removed them before but the posters on the likes of the Liverpool and Man Utd pages wanted them back. Personally I'd bin them as well but it's not up to me.}

What are your thoughts on Musonda? Any reason you know of why he isn't getting a game with us? HH.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

03 Apr 2018 18:08:11
Doesnt live up to the hype?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2018 18:09:54
Any time he's played all be it not very often he's been really quiet so the bhoys that are in front of him are there on merit.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2018 18:31:44
Very many of our fans wet themselves with excitement at the prospect of us signing him on an 18 months loan deal. Those who were most excited had even seen him play .
I wouldn't be one bit surprised when all the hype has died down Mosunda could come on to play a reasonably good game for us . It could well be next season before we get the best of him . Hopefully he is working hard in training and trying his best to impress the coaches.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 00:16:46
Masonda looks like a 14 year old in a school team, he is nowhere near physical enough for our game. Not saying he has to be built like mike tyson but a strong breeze would blow him over.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 13:19:13
I reckon he is still finding his feet at our club and acclimatizing to new training, team-mates and weather lol.
He is here for a while and is up against a lot of very good quality at present and will get his chance when BR thinks he's ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 13:28:08
Watching him youvtealuse why he never broke through at Chelsea. He is too lightweight. He needs to increase his core strength. He is easily muscled out with fair challenges. He’s still a pup so I have hopes for him, but right now he doesn’t warrant a start and that’s a worry.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And yet he managed to play 24 games in La Liga for Real Betis. His physical appearance is nothing to do with why he wasn't given any game time at Chelsea, he had some problems staying fit and they feel he needs to mature as a person and a player and to learn when to pass the ball rather than try and do everything himself.}

04 Apr 2018 14:13:40
he's being eased in (from a coach).

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Apr 2018 12:19:40
ED007 what are your thoughts on Rogic and Armstrong extending their contracts. Firstly on Rogic, seen an article which said "Rogic should wait until after world cup to consider his options" although I like the Australian, I feel he misses too many games, and will miss probably all of our CL qualifiers next season already, also he will probably come back tired which makes him more prone to picking up more injuries. For me punt him for a decent price if he has a decent world cup.
Fans will say who will replace him? Well we have Ryan Christie coming back after his season at Aberdeen, give him a chance.
As for Armstrong, on his day, he brings energy and class to our team, but these days are getting few and far between, also he seems to want to try England so again I am for getting a decent price for him also.
Just my thoughts ED007, interested to hear yours and everyone else.

Believable0 Unbelievable15

{Ed007's Note - The contract Rogic turned down was supposedly heavily performance based and if Celtic continue down that road with him then he will leave. There's no question over his ability but his reliability is a real cause for concern.
Unless Armstrong has had a massive change of heart since last summer then he will be for the off as well.}

03 Apr 2018 14:34:07
Looks like one of them is reading your reply Ed, going with the dislike or could it be an obsessed lurker? I have always had the opinion from the moment I started folowing Celtic. If a player has been offered a contract and decides against it then it's adios amigo, thanks for your services and good luck. Celtic will survive.

Agree0 Disagree13

{Ed007's Note - I don't pay any attention to kids or even adults acting like kids pressing a thumbs up or down, Rab. It just shows again how sad and pathetic some posters are, especially when you know who it is... ;)

03 Apr 2018 15:24:15
Ha Ed, they don't even realise you have the computery thingammy whatsits to detect them! It's always funny to see when you out a saddo!

Agree0 Disagree9

{Ed007's Note - :-D

03 Apr 2018 16:26:35
i think it will come down to what is available for them elsewhere rab, its well known both their agents are hawking them about, both guys say they are happy but you never know, im getting the vibe that armstrong has been tapped up by someone, i hope they both stay both are first choice starters for me.

Agree11 Disagree4

03 Apr 2018 17:39:37
Jb67 I don't think Armstrong ever seen his future in Scotland to be honest. Even from his time at Utd I remember him saying how he'd love to play in England and Germany.

Agree0 Disagree10

03 Apr 2018 18:10:08
he always spoke about playing in germany.

Agree7 Disagree5

03 Apr 2018 18:35:30
Yes Kev83., I would love to play for Celtic but as I am 68 the chances are my chances are gone . Similarly Armstrong may want to play in the top leagues for top teams in England or Germany but if those teams don't want him, he may have to rough it in Glasgow with Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree7

03 Apr 2018 19:09:11
ED007 and Big Rab sorry but both of you have a long long long way to go to even come near MY thumbs down totals lol.

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome to them Tim, I find it pretty creepy, and sad, that so many people troll the site just to click a thumbs down. Do you think they sit and feel all chuffed with themselves after it?}

03 Apr 2018 19:43:52
Thumbs were made for play station's, Xbox's and mobile phones Ed lol

As you said it's really sad that they think there could be so many out there clicking that button 👍.

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - I still use my index finger to type texts lol

03 Apr 2018 19:44:23
ED007 I actually posted a joke response to this many months ago, yes I think they actually do get a kick out of thumbs down, myself and I am sure yourself would respect them more if they disagree with any post, come on and tell us why they disagree, at least that takes courage which is maybe what they lack.

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - That's why they're called trolls, Tim.}

03 Apr 2018 19:44:27
There are teams in England that would take Armstrong. Of that I have no doubt. But that wasn't really my point OMC.
My point was that Armstrong doesn't see his long term future in Scotland. Think that was pretty evident last summer.
I think he's the type of player that sees football as just a job as well so will eventually chase the money.

Agree0 Disagree6

03 Apr 2018 20:09:45
He doesn't strike me as money orientated Kev, but accept he has itchy feet.

Ignorance is great, you can post anything and nobody knows whether you are right or wrong . When I say ignorance, I refer to the fact that none of us are Privvy to the details of any Celtic players contract talks . It is possible that Armstrong's protracted stalling over his contract extension was testing the water to see who and what would be interested in him . The one year extension maybe came about with the same thinking .
At any rate apart from his performance on the 31st March against Ross County he has done nothing this season to cause me any loss of sleep should Celtic not be good enough for him.

Agree0 Disagree4

04 Apr 2018 00:14:04
People talking about losing maybe tom rogic or/ and armstrong? well the answer is a man called john mcginn who frankly would walk to glasgow to play for us and is the best midfielder in scotland bar none.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Apr 2018 13:07:19
I have clicked a few thumbs up because I agree with a comment. I always try to give a comment when I click a thumbs down. If you disagree, that's fine but at least defend your reason. Like everyone has said, some people just click thumbs down regardless.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Apr 2018 13:31:52
With the thumbs up I would like people to be identified. So you can dig them up. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 13:55:15
Tysonmike . You must be a great Celtic supporter who has extra powers in that you can judge a player from another club as the best midfielder in Scotland .
From what I have seen in games against Celtic this season Mc Ginn would be lucky to get on the bench .
I suppose some Celtic fans have a habit of boasting up midfielders from other Scottish clubs and continue to berate Celtic for the following 10 yrs . MaCarthy was the "best midfielder" in Scotland went to England and became more& more ordinary as time went on.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You must have missed the game at Celtic Park in September when McGinn bossed the whole midfield - granted Brown was missing through injury - and scored both Hibs goals in the 2-2 draw.}

04 Apr 2018 13:51:56
It's looking likely Armstrong will go in the summer. A clear out is on the cards hopefully with Biton, Sviachenko, Alan, Ciftci, Jozo, Boyata to start with.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 13:54:52

the initials uj spring to mind tim lol.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 14:33:21
I didn't miss it, more like I forgot it, but how many times has McGinn played against Celtic and only one decent performance to show for it .
We weren't at our best in the November December game charge so even though I admit he was good against us, many of our team were feeling the effects of two hard seasons one after the other with only a 3 week break for our best players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He played really well in the 2-2 draw at Easter road too, so that's 2 good performance out of 4 games.}

03 Apr 2018 10:46:39
So now we are slowly getting our big players back fit again, it is looking good for the remainder of this season and next season also.
A fully fit Armstrong and Griffiths bring an energy back to the team, and Armstrong brings out the best in Sinclair also. I guess all the talk will begin again of extending Armstrong's contract again time will tell if he wants to stay with us.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

03 Apr 2018 11:20:38
I would love SA to stay Tim. Was disappointed he didn't extend his contract more than what he did. If he wants to leave though we have to do what's best for the club and if that means selling in the summer for a decent enough fee then we have to do it. Fingers crossed he extends but can't see it happening. Also can't wait to see Griffiths back we are a bigger threat at Free kicks and corners when he plays. I enjoy watching him play he is one of our star players.

Tiny Tim what Stan is saying that we are a bigger threat from corners precisely because L G delivers a better quality ball.
