darrell king at it again said because sevco bought rangers membership they are still the same club well airdrie bought clydebanks membership but not the history. tulip

Believable4 Unbelievable4

If they are the same then why do they need to transfer anything ?

Why is every Rangers forum full of justification of being the same but only for retaining their tainted trophies, why have they went back almost 20 years (when they had never done so before) to say Celtic changed their name ?

Why do they compare themselves to Celtic changing their name in 1994 and not Airdrie in 2002.

They know the score, 'the company' & 'the club' are in the process of liquidation and no amount of attempted justification or whatever will change this FACT ~ Mrs E

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agree with all your choices except Commons.Even if he makes it from injury he won't play.Lenny will go 4-5-1 with Brown playing and Forrest playing behind Hoops.I think Brown adds a bit of bite to our game in the middle of the park and don't forget HJK are already 19 games into their season so we need someone to break up play,annoy the opposition and rile them.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ye no think brown distribution is rotten tho jungle bhoy ? if he wants bit a would rather see kayal than brown tbh plus u get it from wanyama aswel a think commons has been the best player in pre season

gunniebhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Broony is no world beater but a lot of our toothless play last season was when he was injured.He grabs the team by the scruff of the neck and makes us play better IMO.If his job is to break up play and give the ball to the flair players like Forrest,Vic,Kayal or whoever then he does this well,true his distribution could be a bit better but i think we are a better team with him in it.I'm sure Ed would agree?

Afternoon Ed, another short visit today, I have my tickets for tomorrow's game my first game in over 2 years so I am looking forward to it. Are you confident we have enough in the present squad to reach group stages?
I really hope we can get there this season as I will be fit enough to go to euro games also (albeit with a helper) I heard kayal, stokes and commons are injured, any word on their injuries.
Do you think the board will give Lennon any cash to spend on decent players. Also what is position with KI? I know he is at Olympics, but are QPR ready to make a bid? Neil T {Ed007's Note - Nice to hear from you Neil, sorry it took so long to answer, I am snowed under just now. That's great news that you are fit enough to get to games again, I'm sure you will have a great time. Stoke and Commons done light training this morning and NL thinks they should be ready and Kayal was hopeful of playing against Inter so I would guess he should be fine for tomorrow. I expect Ki to finalise his move after the Olympics. As for the money side of things I am thinking it is more a Plan A or Plan B situation, whomever we are targeting depends on CL qualification. I do think we should have enough to get past HJK but it could be tough in the next round depending on the draw. I hope that you getting out and about is a sign of better times ahead Neil, take care mate and keep your chin up. HH}

Forrest. McCourt. Brown. Samaras

Commons/stokes. Hooper .

Believable0 Unbelievable3

We'll need a bit more dig in midfield than forrest mc ginn an sammi broony is the only one with any dig

Agree0 Disagree1

Not good, wanyama needs to be in mid and McCourt should be nowhere near the team. I don't understand yours and others love for McCourt yes he has talent and is Irish but he is not good enough to play for us unless we are winning a game and he comes on for the las ten. We need rid of him so we can get money and his wages off for someone new, he has had too many chances and needs to go now cause he just doesn't but all his effort out and only gets by someone once in every five defenders he takes on. Our club is too good that he can't make it in, one wonder goal in every ten matches means nothing, compare him to Sammy how he use to be and Sammy got a harder time even thought he was actually helping out more then McCourt. If some fans make a big deal about him leaving then thought fans needs a wake up call and get back to supporting the club and not just one Irish fella with some good talent that doesn't give it his all. And I am Irish too and like the guy but he had his chances and it's time to go.

Just reading K Dot's post of yesterday in praise of Rangers Tax Case, and I too would like to pay tribute to the amazing investigative journalism involved. We all know now why ex club tried to buy titles and cups, to emulate our Lisbon Lions and big Jock. It has taken a while but the old saying "cheats never win" has now come true.
So what can we as Celtic fans (and fans of other clubs) do now?
We can make Scottish football as open and inclusive and HONEST! as we possibly can. Celtic as a club now have the chance to lead Scottish football in a better way, lets share the television money more evenly, look at all options open to make our game more attractive.
As a big club, we can help the smaller clubs by loaning out young players, donating equipment to the really small clubs, the Celtic fans can pack out all away games and buy away club products.
From a purely selfish point of view, as a "paranoid" Celtic fan who witnessed all the "honest mistakes" to see Celtic once again in the Champions League EVERY year, to the cheats looking enviously from across the city that would indeed be SCHADENFREUDE...hail hail Timalloy

Believable9 Unbelievable5

I really thought that we would let our young players out to other teams to help them but also so they could develop more. Ed do you think we will see Celtic let some youths to other clubs to help all, I think this will show how big and how our club is if we do, going back to our roots in helping out the less fortunate. {Ed007's Note - Id rather we kept them and gradually bring them into the first team squad.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Pack out the other clubs' grounds! You really are deluded bhoy - you won't even fill your own ground this season. as for CL EVERY season I still reckon Rangers will get into the group stage before you lot...............

Agree5 Disagree7

Great point Tim, totally agree, and i think the wheels have already been set in motion with Ross County promising to cover Motherwell's supporters buses fares. that's a fantastic gesture i think, from a club with little income as it us, and should hopefully act as a catalyst for others to follow.

Celtic as we all know play a big part in helping others through charities etc, and hopefully similar gestures will come from us, especially to teams like aberdeen, the dundee teams, and inverness. let's not forget, we also run buses from these areas, and it would guarantee a bigger gate if we could offer these incentives.

i think now, with the rubbish being dumped, we'll see far more open, exciting football, and honesty and fair play. we have 11 other teams all with a chance of champions league football, so hopefully the ethos of 10 men behind the ball will vanish these next few seasons.

this is the perfect chance to show the rest of scottish football, in particular the SPL, that Celtic genuinely care for the state of scottish football and should help others at EVERY possible opportunity....cause, let's face it, we're winning the league from now till whenever, so it's not going to hurt us

Do you mean THE rangers as rangers are an extinct club.

Hail hail

Marco1888

Agree2 Disagree4

Taco, yes I saw that about Ross County, I posted about two weeks ago about clubs including bus travel in the price of their match ticket. But the supporters can play their part too, their must be spaces on a lot of buses coming from towns up north, team up with say Aberdeen, Dundee fans and share cost of coach. Timalloy

Morning ed!
Just. Couple of wee things from today's media.
Sky set to sign a £13m per year tv deal, so much for the doomsday of no tv deal.
That should get all SPL teams heads above water without sevco.

Do you think Charlie Green will be hauled up by the SFA for his dumb comments, does this idiot know nothing about west Scotland, or is he playing to the knuckle draggers? {Ed007's Note - The SFA have asked Green to explain his comments As I said yesterday, I am not convinced that he actually knows the meaning of the word bigotry.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I think you're right Ed, Chico doesn't have a full undrstanding of the word bigotry in the context of the seedier side of Scottish society.

However for him to have used it at all, strongly suggests that it has been fed to him by others.

The names McCoist and Jardine instantly spring to mind for some reason.

K-Dot.

Agree5 Disagree2

He probably wouldn't even have heard the word bigot before he got involved with rangers, i bet whispering sally has been muttering those words, foaming at the mouth that his beloved establishment simply don't have the clout they once did, and with that, appealing to the snakes belly of the rangers support (the majority)

My daughter got married last year. to give her a name we will call her miss Ann Smith. she had lived in a nice '' big hoose'' with her now husband, for years.they still live there. she is now mrs sevco. she asked me if her kids {born smiths} could carry on the smith name and history.. it really hurt me a lot to tell her{ i have no sons} . no sweetheart , the smith name and history froze when you became mrs sevco.. your kids can't be smiths, they're sevcos, a new branch of us smiths , and the start of a new history.. with a tear in my eye, shamrock

I think a good way to raise money for the club would be to have a sweepstake on how many times Ian Black will be sent off this season. It could be a 50/50 draw where half the proceeds go to the club and half to the winner!

Personally I think about 5 red cards are possible - Jaxie.. i couldn't believe this one yesterday, new levels of stupidity on the dark side. even if this jaxie charcter is right , black would be suspended for about 16+ games. no sane person would go for more sending offs. but this is newco we are talking about so lets say some of them go a bit higher, to maybe seven sending offs.. how much is jaxie going to charge for a ticket . normally raffles are no more than a pound .. yessssssssss £3.50p to the winner and £3. 50p to sevco. shamrock

Awright Ed, hope you are well. Just reading the guys posts below. Do you agree we will splash some cash on a striker or centre half when we progress to the next round after we knock Helsinki out. Ian L {Ed007's Note - I would have preferred the money to have been spent before now Ian, and with another round before the group stages why wait to spend then?}
