De la pena came on trial a few years ago and we knocked him back the he went to espanyol and became a legand. he has been fantastic there.

we only looking at these players to get someone in for nothing so the fans see celtic signing someone but its not costing us anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic did not knock De La Pena back , the player decided to remain in Spain .

Just a quick question, would like to see if any one else is really starting to get frustrated wi Celtic bringing in 3rd rate players on trial? In my opinion if s player had to go on trial he isn't really up 2 much? Off the top of my head can't think of any success storys from this way of signing players

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Was quite interested to see if there has been any successful trials. Rudi Vata started as a trialist, as did stan varga n a certain stillian petrov. Also found out macari had brad freidel on trial n deemed him no better than gordon marshall lol

i think we should all get together and petition the glasgow city council the police and the government to get these orange parades banned around celtic park on saturday 13th august when we are playing at home to dundee utd i have already registered a complaint with gcc also think we should get the media on board this is a severe safety issue

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Lol you are unbelievable. So much for religion having nothing to do with football?

why is it a sever safety issue, do you plan on attacking them?

Can i ask your ED why he feels its appropriate to post a comment that has NOTHING to do with celtic or football? {Ed007's Note - It is part of an adult discussion that CFC and Rangers fans were having on here the other day. I think if you can't realise the problems this will cause at Celtic Park (a football stadium) you are being very naive. If you notice the discussion is on the banter section where people are allowed to discuss such issues in a civilized manner. That is why it is appropriate. There was no childish name calling or derogatory statements used in the discussion and decent minded Rangers fans were also having their say and condemning it. It was part of an ongoing discussion regarding sectarianism and it was actually myself that drew peoples attention to the story. If you have a problem with reading or taking part in serious discussions about issues that have a detrimental affect on our society I suggest you don't read them and just go back to posting "4IAR" childish posts.}

Tony why have you not posted on your own site tonight? Posted plenty on here your ED047 and your fellow bears are missing your words of wisdom, looking out for a rare tony post on gers then I POUNCE LOL Timalloy
PS your other question Wanyama, Wilson and Mathews both on pre contracts but still signed with more to come can gers say the same about more players to come?

Just had a wee look on main football site one guy said Sneilder turned down Manchester Utd because there are only 2 restauarants in manchester, other guy Indignantly said "what about McDonald, KFC, Pizza Hut etc... yes that would certainly encourage him to come..........at least you know when i tell a joke unlike these guys.... Timalloy

To all the people who are critical of Celtic going after Graig Bellamy , get a grip of yourselfs the guy is a class act and would be a major player for us not just his goals it's his alround play and work ethic that makes him such a great player , give him a break he is class.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Smashing player 90K per Week 11 goals 35 games for Cardiff last season wouldn't last 6 weeks in spl with his Glass Knees the SPL is way more Physical than the Championship would proberly pi55 of every player in the dressing room and the biggest problem who would you drop to accommodate him stokes hooper.
the problem is you guys still think he is the same player he was 7 years ago when he played for you's

i hope to hell you sign him

Tony

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Seamus what have I told you stop annoying the bhoys, at least we have a CHANCE of signing players unlike your mob across the city LOL timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Remind me again tim who have you signed this season

tony

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think Bellamy wud be a problem in the dressing room, he, s older and wiser now plus he does have a soft spot for celtic. I just dont want him coz he wudnt be value for money.

Transfer so far this season for OF
in case you have forgotten
pre-contracts last season
mathews
wilson

bought this season

wanyama

Rangers in so far

Ortiz
Wallace
Healy
goian

bedoya pre contract

now rethink your last post Tim it helps if you get your facts right before making silly statements and before you start with all the we dont need player 5hit you are having more trials than Glasgow sheriff court after an new year old firm game lol

going out now for a couple of hours look forward to reading some of the replies and excuses when i get back

Tony

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone a panic buy, Ortiz no pace, wallace overpriced, Goian injury prone knees away, Healy ha ha, Bedoya Who, heard Whyte was in tears signing those cheques. At least Lenny is being sensible looking at players HIMSELF before shelling out money. I would put Lenny/Lawwell up against any of your clowns at Ibrox, the biggest loss you have is Martin Bain he would not have let whyte make laughing stock of your club.Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony, unlike Rangers we have a settled squad now with good players in the key positions, we don't need 4, 5 or 6 new faces. A GK and CF will do and as for all the Bellamy not being value for money nonsence ... when did we as supporters really make that a priority. If he comes up here and helps us win the league and a place in next seasons CL then he certainly is worth it, just my opinion.

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary we have a settled squad. it mostly is the same squad thats won us 3 championships??

Agree0 Disagree0

Err when you lot werent signing anyone it was because you have a settled squad. whats different with celtic?

i dnt understand why we need another forward kp stokes and hooper playn together and we will be fine we have plenty off back up for them we need to get rid off lovens hes an accident waiten to happen we seen it last year he went to bits after couple off bad mistakes i honestly would not give him a game for my sunday team and goal kp pat bonner could not be any worse than the s...wee have in just now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree about the striker situation hooper and stokes have an awsome partnership

Tony/Seamus answer this question a couple of weeks ago Whyte gave interview to pet poodle Traynor of Sunday Mail in which he PROMISED £15m available NOW for Sally, we hear that Boughie is going for £3m and that THIS money will be used to bring in new players. Was Whyte lying to all the Rangers fans? Traynor only prints what he is told to print by his Ibrox puppet masters so why put that story out there? If you go out of europe on wednesday watch the outcry Timalloy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Jim Traynor is no friend of Rangers Tim he hates all things OF as for 15Mil if there is 15mil is it for the purchase and the wages for players or just to buy players is Ally waiting to see who is available after the EPL puts in their 25 man squad who knows we will just have to wait till transfer window ends before we judge

Now here is a question for you tim as Celtic are financially flush m8 why doesn't Neil Lennon just go out and buy himself a good Keeper as we are all aware you have good cover in all positions except between the sticks so with such good players all-round surely paying 3/4 million for a good keeper to complete your team makes more sense than trying to land Craig Bellend on a loan.

Tony

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony watch this space... Newcastle are away on pre season tour just now I am SURE Forster will be coming back in a £2m+ deal Lenny has to wait on them but Forster will not want to sit on bench.Timalloy

I said a good keeper lol

Tony, tony , tony...dont you worry about graig bellamy, your mob couldnt even sign craig conway..wait a minute your mob didnae want to sign him they only wanted to talk to him, has whyte got the cash?the answers staring you in the facewhy wont the laptop loyal admit it?time for the we deserve better banners very soon.basherbhoy

Not so much a rumour lad more a few points. Watching the City game and thinking should lenny not take the opportunity to talk to Mancini about a loan for one of his players..Shaun Wright Phillips Now before the calls of too many midfielders would u not agree that his pace would destroy teams in the SPL. Without doubt need another striker and GK. Bellamy is a short term solution but wouldn't complain..as for a GK the best I can think of (if he hasn't signed for anyone yet) is Sorenson??Going by Lawells comments though, there won't be too many more coming in and we might have to make do? Was at super cup v inter and was generally very pleased with how we played

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Jul 2011 17:52:41
I think Celtic should just concentrate on a GK. Our squad is pretty strong and I would like to see Hoops and stokes up front on a regular basis, they will only get better together and both seem to be on a similar wavelength. Stokes impressed me today and seems to have sorted out his attitude problem. I think we should be trying to get rid of fringe players before we start spending (apart from a GK).

Just been viewing Thai Tims new songs, have you heard their "Dedicated follower of Celtic"? One line says Timalloy is everywhere Even Thai Tims know about me ha ha ha

Ed007 heard a wee whisper you like Neil Diamond?

Hello Again, I am I said (Timalloy), If you know what I mean, I'm a believer, I would like to Reminice, as I've been this way before but sadly You dont bring me flowers anymore

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yea and sounds like you've been on the Red Red Wine lol

Tony

Hello Seamus how are you? See another Sally target looks like getting away OOPS, I also heard you have been annoying our fans again tut tut, tried to leave you a wee calling card on your site but your ed047 never posted it told them you love Bairds Bar and all the Irish Music and that you manage a band that plays there and at the Barrowland and you were in negotiations to bring them to the Loudon Tavern Good luck when you go back on your site LOL Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Tim the wife allowing you some putter time again m8 as for the moron i upset more like he upset me. i was arguing with some guy regarding calling us shame i tried to point him to a link on a newspaper about what i think was shameful but Ed didnt post the link bit which in hindsight i can understand why.

then this moron comes on leaves no name and demands i be banned for spewing vile at his club. this pissed me off considerably because at no time was i spewing vile or being bigoted and had to get Ed to confirm this
the guy was just a t*t that decided if Ed deleted my post then i had to be a Bigot/Sectarian vile spewing catholic hating Orc From Castle greyskul.

Tony

When I go on your site I leave my name so if they want to have a pop they can, hate all these anonymous posters that post stupid things but dont have guts to leave a name. Just watched game young Cervi was rarely tested seems confident enough, Wanyama neat and strong in the tackle will be a good addition I think but not yet first team standard, Mathews looked OK good turn of pace on him, Murphy I was impressed with good attitude on him and put in a good shift, Maloney non existent when he came on get rid, for Aberdeen game Mastolevic must partner Wilson.Cant understand why Neil never played Rasmussen? let club scouts look at him and maybe an offer will come in. Timalloy

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Agree but how is Maloney still in the team

Ed, love the site, just found it recently as now visit it daily, but this is a serious question. I see many people turn to you for Celtic transfer information. Your replies are reasonably direct as if speaking from a position of knowledge, which you may well be in....hence the following question: Can you tell me what your specific credentials are and where your knowledge is gleaned from? {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site and I am glad you enjoy it but sadly I can't tell you who I am or from where I get any information.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hey Ed007 man with no name could be from HMRC checking up haha Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I never thought of that Tim!! My finances are in order though so no need to worry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah dont think its HMRC heard they are busy elsewhere in glasgow just now Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough Ed....but will you confirm or deny that you do indeed have insider info from a genuine and reputable source?? {Ed007's Note - Yes, I can confirm or deny it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Ed007 it IS the taxman they never give up, tell them your name is Tony let him get some grieve from HMRC ha ha haTimalloy {Ed007's Note - I know Tim. If I told him who I was it might affect my job at the Daily Record ;-)

Not a rumour just a thought. I was watching the Inter game yesterday and thought we matched them pretty well, they are not a million miles away from us however thats not my point ( before anyone starts jumping on my back I am not saying we are as good or have the same quality as Inter just that we are not light years apart as some punidits would have people believe)
I thought 1 player stood out for them....Their keeper. Now with Julio Cesear number 1 I think we should be trying to speak to them about him ( not sure of his name ) either to buy if poss or even on loan for the season. What do you think?

P.S having said that I don't think there is much love lost between the 2 sides after yesterdays display

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I agree, the Inter keeper was excellent.Would love to see if he was available, never know he might even be Inters 3rd choice.Also ed, do you know if Buffon is out of contract still?I know he might be out of our price range but if you dont ask, you dont get.

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - Buffon's contract isn't up until June 2013. Alex Manninger from Juventus (ex-Arsenal) was a GK that was offered to CFC though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed, i thought i heard a commentator saying towards the end of last season that Buffon would be out of contract in the summer and he was linking him to Arsenal.Thanks for clearing that up tho, typical commentator talking out his arse (as usual).

Ed007 heard it got quite heavy on here last few days with heated debates, friends kept me informed,
Tony I got told still noising up us poor Celtic fans, you know me dont like it too heavy lets get back to humour, so how about as Tony has been a regular on Celtic site for some time we "Confirm" him with his own name, I think Tony's "confirmation" name should be SEAMUS as he comes on here and tries to be the"Seamus" as all us Celtic fans (ouch) Gang why dont you give our other regulars Billybhoy1 and Baybear a "confirmation" name, lets have some fun Timalloy
I know you missed my jokes??
Post Office have had to recall thousands of Glasgow Rangers FC stamps as people did not know which side to SPIT on Timalloy ( resident comic)

Keep your day job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep the rattle in the pram timalloy (who are you anyway?) can you no take a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

MY name is there where is your name and we will discuss your problem PS
here is another wee joke just to annoy you further .........
Heard Whyte is thinking of making a bid for Bellamy, he is also THINKING about making offer for Messi, Ronaldo, Balotelli too, ach well thinking costs NOTHING LOL Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry i cant see your name, unless your parents called you timalloy. your jokes dont annoy me (i am a celtic fan) but just because posters dont bother with a tag does not mean they dont have the right to an opinion if you go to other team pages like chelsea or aston villa you dont see many of these tags on posts. so give me a break with the looking down at posters with no tag after all you are the new guy here. how do i know that because i have been on here for alot longer than you btw its paddy who am i? who are you? who are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

How do I know that if you keep posting with no name, you could simply say that EVERY post without a name is yours, get yourself a "tag" as you call it then people can engage with you, I put my "tag" timalloy to everything I post so people can agree/disagree with me but at least I engage with them not post stupid anonymous posts LOL Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats only your opinion if someones post a stupid post or not. people might think your posts are stupid with a tag. how hard is it to agree/disagree with a post without a tag? if i want to stay anonymous that up to me not you. if you want to look down on anonymous posters well that can work two ways as sickbhoy found out. good luck to you.

Afternonn Ed007 tanned, refreshed and raring to go after my travels. Regarding goalkeeper situation I think Lennon will go back in for Forster with bigger bid, Zaluska just does not have strength of character to be Celtic keeper. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Afternoon Tim, a few people seem to think that NL wants Forster back.}

31 Jul 2011 10:27:11
Morning Ed,
Do you think that the lad kirkland or foster would be a great signing for us in goal? Although i dont know how far along the foster to WBA deal is but surely he would be a steal on loan. After watching the game yesterday we defo need a gk and iam also not so sure whos going to play in midfield and where? Kayals the best in the middle but me and the lads had a debate lastnite on whos best in there with him. We alot of good midfielders but the balance aint right. Which admittedly threw up some heated views.
Still recon we need a class centre half to partner wilson and a classy striker to play with hooper if we even want to get close to our glory days. To many indians not enough chiefs Ed. All the best troops lets hope some of the young pups do well today in Dublin.
Stu88. {Ed007's Note - Kirkland is a terrible GK and conceded a goal every 27 mins in the EPL last year.}

Im just back from dublin and im pissed of with neil lennon, yet again as with the wolves game he puts a second string team out against inter why.He stated it was to get players up to match and european experience but more than half of them wont be even playing in the team this year.And why the fluck is malony still getting to put a jersey on along wae samarass and zaluska weev been short changed once again.

I cant understand why we havnt made a move to bring back Keane if were going to chase Bellamy who even tho would be a great signing only played every other game for cardiff last season and its hard to know where his fitness really is at. I realise Robbie wants to stay in london but with his strong links to Celtic it would be worth a try aways gets goals and gives 110% and would be great to see him playing his golden years while has a few left terrorising defences at Paradise and throughout the spl..? Believable4 Unbelievable2

30 Jul 2011 23:57:17
do you think our billionaire owner and share holder will put some money up for a a couple of strikers at last minute or have their wallets well shut for good.any keeper news cause zaluskas aint good enough we need 2 keepers {Ed007's Note - No. We don't need a couple of strikers and we can only play with one GK at a time, and why would we need Dermot Desmond or anyone to open their wallets, the club has money to spend without them using their own personal fortunes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

30 Jul 2011 23:32:52
Perhaps a bit off the topic of Celtic but seeing as I don't really chat football anywhere else, thoughts on the Scotland draw?

Croatia
Serbia
Belgium
Scotland
Macedonia
Wales

IMO it's a weird draw. Offered Croatia from pot 1 and I'd have taken it, and wouldn't necessarily have picked Serbia but also good to avoid France and the Czechs in pot 2. However would rather have avoided Belgium, Macedonia and Wales from the other pots as there were far more favourable potential opposition in each of these. So basically we're arguably given a slighly easier ride with the top two seeds but the lower pots have balanced it out springing up tricky opponents not enormously better or worse than ourselves.

All in all though I'm fairly happy with it as even the "easiest" permutations only leave us with an outside chance anyway. If Scotland get their act together and play their best home and away in all games we could be in with a fighting chance of 2nd place as there isn't a Spain, Holland or Germany that's likely to run away with the group although I guess sometimes this can help as it makes results a bit more predictable and minimum objectives in each game clearer. At home I reckon we could at the very least draw against the better sides of the group but even if we do I don't think we can afford to lose to Wales or Macedonia away, and obviously will need to nick the odd draw or win away against the top 3 seeds to have any chance whatsoever of going to Brazil. I reckon it'll be a tight group, especially amongst the top three seeds but hoping we can get off to a good start and stay within touching distance.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

For once lets get behind the team, instead of hoping for 2nd place why not go for 1st? If we play our best home and away we'v as good a chance as any.
