I'm actually feeling super optimistic about the 10 now. I really do think everyone is coming into good form. always a few that might not get there though. If we don't lose on Saturday I'm confident we'll win the league.

I actually think even if we do lose, we can still claw it back. Reasons for this is that we've had the blip of all blips in terms of form, we've had injuries, and bad luck with postponements and C.V. They will have a wobble, every team does.

Losing on Saturday isn't the disaster, losing to them at celtic Park was the disaster. There's no doubt we have to win games in hand. So if we lose its essentially 10 point gap. They were 13 points behind last year with a quarter season remaining yet they thought they could do it, so 10 points with half a season is doable. Of course we would need to beat them twice- which then becomes 4 points.

Right now we are still winners and they are still bottlers so I don't think its over. they'll drop points as long as we win game in game out after Saturday.

As for transfer window- 2 additions would be all it takes. Assuming its true and we ain't after a goalie then for me it has to be the best CH we can find. even on loan. This allows Ajer to play RB. The other one for me is someone who can make a difference when required. So I'd go get Snodgrass. His delivery, free kicks and experience would complement current squad, especially with Forrest and MJ returning.

Losing at home is no more a disaster than losing away, there isn't really any home or away games this season because of the lack of supporters,

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 16:56:28
Smoke me a kipper great to see positive posts rather than the end of the world is nigh billboard comments. Get right in about the red hand sanitisers on Saturday get the 3 points and let’s see how they cope with leading the pack on the run in as the gap narrows. I’ve been saying for weeks calm yir drawers there is a lot of football to be played yet Santa doesn’t deliver league titles. Its not over until it’s over concede nothing. Good to see Lennon keeping it real as well. We turn up and play to our capabilities we win. Then it’s game on. Lose and it’s an uphill struggle but still not over by a long shot.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 16:59:47
Aindoh the manner of the defeat at Parkhead was nothing short of an embarrassment as was last December.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 18:22:06
We know we have the better players and we know what they are capable of . Now it’s time to show it.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 18:52:35
The least the players can do is to turn up in the right attitude and perform with skill, determination, passion, courage and confidence.
All of these were missing at Celtic Park and as painful, infuriating and frustrating as it was to watch - we only lost 2-0.
The players owe it to themselves, to play like proper Champions.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 19:19:01
JFP, I know that, I was just trying to point out that because of the lack of fans, there isn't really home or away games, I know that performance was a total embarrassment, I feared the worst when I seen the lineups, and if Lennon picks the same kind of team tomorrow, it will be more of the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 19:37:04
Aindhoh I think no fans has been a double dunt to us. It has worked in their favour and been to our detriment. For me the team picks itself.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 20:58:36
I disagree, I think if we lose on Saturday it's over unfortunately. However we should have nothing to fear against them, we're in good form. Let's just hope Lennon doesn't mess about with the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 22:07:05
I think the lack of fans affected them aswell at the very start, but then they adapted to it, maybe Gerard used some method to make the players see the lack of fans as an advantage rather than than a disadvantage, but I think more teams are getting used to playing in empty stadiums, no longer are they these super stars playing in front of adoring fans, they are starting to remember how they used to be footballers who played because they loved playing football and for no other reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 14:21:50
It's an old adage in football but this game, I feel, will be won or lost in Midfield.
This is a game for our players in the engine room to show what they have, what they're all about.
It could and I hope it is, a look into the future core of our team - Calmac, Turnbull, Soro.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Dec 2020 14:38:47
Always said won the mid u generally win game hh.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 14:47:02
If we get in their faces from the start nullify Barasic Kent and expose Tavaneir we will gub them.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 15:09:04
Do any of you watch our games properly. We lose when teams attack us. when we are on the back foot. Opposition midfielders break into our defence and we get exposed. This is what they will do on Saturday and we need to be ready for that. Brown can no longer cover across the 18 yard box and is slow at gettig to the second ball from corners and free kicks, Calmac is a very good player but weak in the tackle study some of the goals we have lost. Soro and Brown working together to cover for a leakly defence whilst playing long balls behind their defence with Griffiths and Edouard breaking quickly.

However Lennon won't do that he will play Frimpong and Laxsalt who cannot defend. We will get caught with cross balls and stupid mistakes. He will change the defence again as he has every game so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 15:42:45
They was lucky to beat Hibs and after seeing the goals against St Mirren both was very fortunate goals too. They look to be slowing down at the right time (Turn of the year again) while we are building momentum at the right time. They're there for the taking.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 17:59:16
It a alright winning the midfield but the keeper and defence is the prob set pieces in particular.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 19:27:38
Mally that’s definitely something we need to avoid giving away daft free kicks outside the box.

31 Dec 2020 20:15:16
J have a word with Christie he's our main culprit.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 11:19:21
This Derby game has the same feel to when Celtic beat them at Ibrox on the 40th Anniversary of the ibrox disaster.
Rangers went into the game over confident because Celtic had problems especially in midfield.
I think Brown was missing and Strachan suspended McGeady for 2 games due to disciplinary issues.
Celtic played Mulgrew in the middle of the Park and Samaras scored 2 goals in a 2-0 victory.
I remember overhearing a couple of Rangers fans talking in the bookies the day before the game and they were betting Miller to score a hat trick.
I knew then they were building themselves up for a big fall.

31 Dec 2020 11:47:58
BB I’ve watched them recently as I’ve had nothing better to do and as we’re due to play them potentially with the league at stake. Normally if they were playing out the back I wouldn’t open the curtains. They are a decent side on a decent run evidenced by some of their European results. But they are there for the taking if we play the right team two up top and start Soro and Turnbull. The fullback decision is a headache. If we sit in and invite them onto us they’ll take the three points. If we take the game to them on the front foot from kick off and get right in their faces we’ll lose goals but we’ll win. We need to win every 50/ 50 ball and I’d suggest making our presence felt in the first 15 minutes until the first yellow card comes out.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 12:20:10
The only decisions Lennon should have to make is which 3 defenders plays alongside Ajer in defence and in what order.
The other 8 players should pick themselves and if they all start, Celtic will win.
I pray that Lennon doesn’t change things, which would play into their hands.
The 3 decisions for Lennon are:-
Frimpong at RB with Ajer at CB.
Ajer at RB and possibly play Duffy at CB
Laxalt or Taylor at LB.
He can choose whatever he feels is right, as long as the other 8 players start.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 12:29:11
BB I’m for Taylor and Ajer at fullback because I think Laxalt and Pingpong would leave us exposed. But there is definitely an argument in favour of playing them. (1) We need to take the game to them (2) there will be space that we don’t usually get because they will have no fear and will come at us as they know it will all but finish the league if they can win and (3) Neils mindset should be we need to score 4 because we could lose 3.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 13:30:09
Totally agree about Laxalt and Frimpong. Even though Frimpong gives us pace and width, defensively he is weak and outmuscled too easily, whereas Laxalt is also unable to stop crosses and gives away too many free kicks in dangerous areas. It's a cruscial decision for NL.
If (as it appears) Jullien won't make it, that could force Ajer away from RB and into the centre because I don't think he would risk a back four of Ajer, Duffy, Bitton and Taylor - or would he?
Suppose Welsh is an option or what's the situation with El Hamed?

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 13:33:00
Lennon has hinted today that Soro, Turnbull and Griffiths will all start at Ibrox.
That’s got to be positive news.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 13:44:14
OAB Ajer Duffy Biton and Taylor for me but I don’t think he will play Shane or he’d have got a run out yesterday. I’d play him rather than move Ajer from right back.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 14:34:34
Would love to see Ajer at RB JFP; as it took NL long enough to realize what a lot of us knew about Ajer's best place in a back four.
I think Bitton and Duffy would be too risky, but as I keep saying as long as we score more than them, I will be delighted.
The amount of chances we created against United was very encouraging and I think our best form is very close. Here's hoping.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 14:45:43
Jfp buzz I agree but to me the difference this time is 5 subs if not going to plan after 20/ 30 min change it don't wait till 70 min or so hh.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 15:05:15
Jic the 5 subs should indeed be to our advantage we have greater strength and depth which gives us options. It might not be about the starting 11.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 15:15:23
I’ve had a good feeling about Elyounoussi all week.
Moi won’t start the game but he’ll be dangerous if he’s given the chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 15:26:04
BB I like him and he’s the stronger of the two but Mikey can play there too and Nelly Noosy has a tendency to cut inside. Like Jic said the 5 subs gives us options to change.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 11:00:44
For me the main thing is not to lose on Saturday so I would keep thing tight and make sure we are solid as possible and hope to snatch the win.

Barkas
RB ajer
CB Duffy as Morelos will bully the others
CB Julian if fit Biton if not
Lb Taylor
RM Frimpong
LM Laxalt
CDM brown
CDM Soro
Cm Macgregor
A Edouard

Subs
Griff
Turnball
Moi
Christie
Welsh
Ajeti
Bain.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Dec 2020 11:12:11
One goalkeeper,6 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders and Calmac who has also previously played a defensive midfield role.
So that leaves Edouard to do all the damage on his own.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 11:38:52
Even though we have had three clean sheets in a row, our defense has been our weakness all season; therefor to allow them to have all the possession and territorial advantage is too risky for me.
Our attacking players are our best form of defense, because as well as Griff and Eddy looking sharp, we have Turnbull, Christie, Cal-Mac, Soro, Nelly Noosy, Rogic and the centre backs able to chip in a goal. So I would stick to a very similar set-up to what we have playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 11:40:54

4-2-3-1 doesn't work we need to match their 3 CM and outwork them and win the battle in the middle which we always fail to do when it's 3 v 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It'll be the 4-4-2 diamond/4-3-1-2 that we've been playing.}

31 Dec 2020 17:48:44
Kerzo, Cannot believe you want Turnbull on the bench on Saturday. Have you been watching our recent games? With a comment like you haven’t or you know nothing about football.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 09:43:36
From midfield to Front we are better than sevco. my concern for sat is they have a better keeper and back 4 and we are prone to howlers. if we get julien fit I would play ajer at rb and also Taylor looks a better bet than laxalt . Not sure who to put in at cb toss uo between Duffy and bitton. but our back 4 need to be at it. concebtrate for 90 mins.
Right am away for a lie down nerves are shattered already 😅.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Dec 2020 11:00:21
Lennon said he needs Jullian fit to help with his game plan.
Maybe he was going to play Ajer at right back.
If he sticks with the same midfield and forwards,
Then playing both Frimpong and Laxalt could be asking for trouble.
The chance Clark missed yesterday neither of our fullbacks were anywhere near in line with our last defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 11:34:42
Again who scouted laxalt he looks bang average. there were better lbs available from theses shores.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 02:30:59
Jullian and Duffy have took turns being absent from the squad recently due to injury.
With both being back for the Dundee Utd game, it was Klimala who was the unfortunate player not to make the squad.
Ntcham made way for Brown when he came back from his injury.
Ajeti also failed to make the cup final 20 man squad.
Bain is another player who is sitting at home.
It just shows how strong this Celtic squad has become.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Dec 2020 08:24:15
Buzz Bomb, its a bit bloated imo. I would rather have quality additions and the fact some of our recent signings can't make the squad is testament to the wasteful nature of our transfer activity.

Agree3 Disagree0

31 Dec 2020 00:59:09
It’s strange considering how inconsistent Celtic have been this season but Celtic have only lost 2 domestic games in the calendar year of 2020.
In the calendar year of 2019 we lost 3 times.
Celtic suffered 6 defeats in 2018.
And in 2017 we only lost One game against Hearts which stopped our 69 game unbeaten run.
