Templeton is a clownshoe. As are Ian Black, Dean Shiels and Lee Wallace. I can see the appeal in the challenge of trying to drag a club up 3 divisions (like, ya know, when I play Football Manager) but their - bear in mind short - careers will suffer for it big time.
Lee Wallace was already snubbed by Levein and Ian Black picked as a last resort (and IMO an experiment but that's a different discussion all together). Templeton is (was) on the brink of getting into the Scotland team and now he's playing against plumbers and computer programmers playing football for fun in division 3. Not saying they're all terrible, but they're not full-time professionals and Levein knows this.
Bottom line is, the big ho...no I mean Templeton and Wallace should be looking to challenge and further themselves at the highest level. 3rd division football won't do that and neither can possibly be relied upon in international games where the likes of Hazard and Bale will rip them a new one. Even Kirk Broadfoot realised that and realised he was a fish out of water.

Watching atletico destroy Chelsea, seems to me Celtic are not as bad as ppl think cause last year in Europa we has them in the hardest group and they were only able to put 2 behind us as we held our own a wee bit. Cl winners and the millions the have with the players they have all epl and all and they should have lost 6-1. I think we deserve more credit and respect from other clubs(epl mostly) and hopefully in cl we will do that as to open ppls eyes to Celtic and just how far we have come and different we are now that nl is running things. Hail all, I think it will be the start of next season when we see a couple of "big signings" our strongest 11 with a bit of luck could finish 2nd in CL which would be superb.
Next seasons qualifiers will be more difficult so the focus should be on searching for next season as we will stroll the spl this year. Please stop slating lawwell, he is planning for future so that we stay stronger than rankers, a rocking Celtic park will beat any new signing.

to be honest I hope we dont sign anyone, we have some of the best young players we have had for well over twenty years starting to break through and three years without Rangers gives us time to give them games.
A couple of players at 1 to 2 million each will not make enough difference to progress in champ lg.
We are well covered in every department and with most of the deadwood away its a season to give the existing players game time to see what they are made of not the time to bring in more squad fillers.
I agree with you, but I think we need a striker and a cb to cover any injuries... I also think that if we don't spend or bring in enough to please the fans that they are holding the money for next year as it will be even harder to get into the cl for us. They are always thinking of of he future and we might be selling players next year and bring in a new group of players and could be quality to help get us into cl next year. Your right in that we can't really afford brining someone who can really help us in cl, not just because of the money but remember ppl that Scottish football is not highly rated by footballing ppl and it is hard for the board to bring in a well known player unless they really want to be here. Keep the faith and remember it is a new era for spl and us so lets not start shouting at the board, we have to understand that and the board has done great for us with the club we have recently so let's just support and believe that the players we have are strong enough to make it hard on the clubs in cl.... Maybe not barca but can hold our own against the other two.

pl runs a very tight ship and so he should. spend a couple of million on a player and give him 20 grand a week for 4yrs and the deal costs 6 mil . do that 4 times your 20 mil is gone and we are only in cl for this year !the wages still need paying next year, and the year after etc. thats the economics that put sevco in div 3 . we cant afford the wages top players command and struggle to compete with english champs clubs on wages never mind epl clubs. we will sign players today but they need to at least be as good as we have.
N thats why you have top end business people who should also be working on the commercial side to bring money in to fund expenditure. No chance, there is no sell on value with young Scottish talent.
If Ki was Scottish he would have went for much less. We would struggle to get over 6 million for Broony, would never sell him mind you.
With the international guy we have brought in, it not only allows a sell on value but also opens up foreign markets to the Celtic brand. Ki, Kayal, Wanyama and Rogne are prime examples of this.
Would be great to get a young, talented South American or American to open up the Americas again to the Celtic brand.

A lot of rumours about Russell and Boly signing tomorrow, but while I agree a centre half would be a priority, I also really, really feel we should be looking to bring in a big physical striker and I don't think Russell comes into that category! What are your thoughts Ed??
Ice man {Ed007's Note - I am not convinced about Russell, especially at £2 million. Although he would strengthen the squad I think if he spent another year at Utd he would be better equipped to be threatening a first team spot if we signed him then.}
I have to agree with you ED, as much as I like him - he could be another Riordan if we rush in. What bothers me more is how once again we seem to be 'last minute shopping' as one by one, our potential targets are being snapped up left right and centre by mediocre EPL teams with more cash than class!
Maybe what worries me more however, is the thought of a huge bid or two coming in for our star players at the 11th hour....
