I wonder where Mikey Johnson and wee Dembele fit into our new 352 formation? For all their undoubted talent I don't think either could play as a wing back. What's everyone's thoughts?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I think as Dembele gets older and bulks up a bit he will be used as a CAM but for now it'll probably only be against certain teams or subbed on when the game is over we'll see him.
I hope I'm wrong but I'm still not sure Mikey Johnston will make it at Celtic.}

01 Jul 2020 07:44:01
I have got pelters for this before but johnstone will never make it at parkhead. He will end up lower end of English championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2020 01:23:11
Mickey could do with a loan out to a rubbish team so he can experience the other end of the spectrum and maybe he will knuckle down. He's young and daft and doesn't seem to take his fitness side too seriously as he was one of the worst players in shape returning for pre season and trying to run off a bad injury and putting himself out for months and making us a man down.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 21:00:25
I hope this doesn't mean we also get Foster on loan as well and they get Ntcham for free.

Give lawell a bit of credit mate.

Give away a multi million pound player for free? That's Sevco maths mate.

jus watched elyounoussi interview was all the fans messages for him to stay played a big part in his decision to stay.

30 Jun 2020 19:47:23
Hi Folks, Keep the bulk of the squad, confirm Big Fraser, strengthen the CHs position. and we have good options to go for "THE TEN"
GK - FORSTER TBC/ BAIN/ HAZARD
LB - TAYLOR/ BOLLI/ RALSTON
CH- JULLIAN/ BITTON / NA
CH- AJER/ J HENRY/ WELSH
RB- ELMAMED/ FRIMPONG/ M PEREZ
MF - McGREGOR / NTCHAM / HENDERSON
CDMF - BROWN/ SORO / L CONNELL
MF - CHRISTIE/ ROGIC/ DEMBELLE
LW- ELYANOUSSIE/ JOHNSTON / ARZANI
RW- FORREST/ SHVED/ KLIMALA*
CF - EDDY/ GRIFF / BAYO

ED, Hope we all stay safe and healthy and Paradise awaits a truly historic season.
Hail Hail🍀.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'm doing OK mate thanks.}

30 Jun 2020 20:50:27
From that list I would sell/ Loan out:

LB - Bolingoli
RB - Perez
CB - Hendry

LW - Johnstone (Loan)
RW - Shved
FW - Bayo

Ntcham and Rogic. I hope they stay but have a feeling they could also leave.

I'd buy:

GK - Forster

LB - Hickey
RB - Omar Elabdellaoui
CB - Tanguy Kouassi

CM - Jeff Hendricks
RW - Paddy Roberts

Up front think we would be fine with Edouard, Griffiths and Klimala. Elyounoussi can also play up there as well.

Arzani is away.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2020 01:03:49
Ralston, Hendry, Bolingoli and Bayo are all not good enough for our squad. Don't know enough about Perez or Connell but Shved and Arzani don't look to be in Lennon's plans. Crying out for a quality centre half in there.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2020 01:37:44
Ralston is a RB and well out of the equation surprised he hasn't been moved on already. Klimala isn't a RW either would rather he stayed in his favored position as a ST and not mess with his development as he's still young.

We have Gutman who looked impressive last preseason surely can't be any worse than Boli? Hendry, Ralston, Benyu and Bayo are the easiest casualties. Question marks over Boli, Shved and Rogic being here next season. And the Ajer stories ain't going away so we may need a lot of business doing.

Any update on Hickey ED? Would have thought he would've been our first signing of the window it seems to have gone quiet on him coming to us is the interest still there?

Just imagine the scenario.

Scotland has the virus pretty much under control. England hasn't - as in Leicester, and with the possibilities of others going into county lockdowns.

Sly's contract kicks off tomorrow with no fans, no income from them and clubs paying their players obscene wages. The clubs don't have savings as they rely on the TV money. There's an almighty fail in the English transfer market with the bubble bursting.

It's then a buyer's market and in sprints Pedro and NL hoovering up players.

How liable is this to happen?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Jun 2020 19:03:02
Not one bit.

30 Jun 2020 19:03:44
I've been waiting for the bubble to burst for years. Now unfortunately I can't see it happening. Seems to be too many people happy to put obscene amounts of money into it. The best we can do as scottish football fans, in my opinion, is not subscribe to sky tv.

buzzing with elyounoussi what a player before his injury he looked on fire. ed007 is this definitely happening.

{Ed007's Note - Looks like it mate.}

30 Jun 2020 18:46:49
good stuff glad we got this deal sorted mate i rate him a lot. do you think big Fraser will join on another loan.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That'll depend on Southampton and they would prefer to sell him.}

30 Jun 2020 20:07:23
do you think lawell will spend the cash or go down the joe hart root.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd be really surprised if Lawwell will sanction spending the £ needed to buy Southampton but I'm worried that we'll end up with Hart.}

30 Jun 2020 20:55:10
if wee end up with hart ed i will be gutted. i think his blunders will cost us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've never rated Hart and I always thought Kasper Schmeichel was a far better 'keeper.}

30 Jun 2020 22:35:31
What is this obsession with Hart about, he was and is a vastly overrated keeper, the obsession with Forster, I can understand a wee bit, although he is vastly over rated aswell but compared to Hart, he is a superstar.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 23:38:35
Hart got away with it for so long as he had a cracking man city defence to hide behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2020 01:43:35
I would rather that Hladky over Hart but neither are better than Bain we need someone far better than all of them.

Does anyone know how the season tickets are doing?

Thought I would put this scenario to you all on here, based on Gordon complaining to press he "only" got offered £4k a week to re sign.
Your boss comes to you and says Buzz Bomb (sorry first name came into my head) the company are prepared to offer you £4,000 a week, but we cannot guarantee you much work, but you should be prepared to help out occasionally when needed, will you accept these terms Buzz?

I can understand his disappointment at such a large cut in wages but having dropped down to 2/ 3 choice and being 37 years old I think it is a very good offer in today’s environment. I doubt he’s on more money at hearts than our offer. I’m also wondering if Johnny Hayes offered Celtic to play for free on a much reduced contract?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 11:14:20
OR he could work for an inferior company for longer hours and possibly less money.
He will be required to work in less glamorous surroundings than he is used too.
I know what option most would take considering he will be 38 in December.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 11:18:00
He was never going to play Tim that's clear but he's out in the press shouting about how he would love to stop our treble this year . should have kept his mouth shut Celtic saved his career.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 11:31:32
Celtic resurrected his career, gave him plenty of success and medals, even though his distribution (for such an experienced keeper) was 'single fish' and his kamikaze moments and rushes of blood caused our current and previous manager to look for better elsewhere.
Be grateful/ graciously retire or join the wee currents; 'nuff said.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 11:37:09
Gordon's no daft: he decided he'd rather get a game than make a bit more coin. I applaud him for that. He had a good run at Celtic, mostly, and at a time in his career when he had no right to expect to enjoy the glory and adulation he came to enjoy. Can't think there'll be any hard feeling either way.

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 11:39:39
I think hearts will be a tougher opponent with neilson in charge and gordon in goals, we will still beat them but it won't be as easy as it could've been.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 12:34:20
choosing game time over money, good on him. Im sure he has enough in the bank anyway. He did well for us.

we are all hoping FF makes the same decision and comes to the hoops instead of sitting out the rest of his high wage contract down south.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 16:44:24
Wont have to bother about them Steff, they are not even in the same league as us 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2020 17:32:13
I was meaning if we get them in the final cos gordon said he wanted to stop the quadruple treble 😂.

30 Jun 2020 18:23:52
They're sh#t and always have been.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2020 01:52:19
His kicking was woeful and would put defence under pressure tossing grenades at them with his passing. He parried into the danger area too often. Probably the worst goalkeeping record at saving penalties as well as the odd blunder or 2 (Inter) as well as the odd kamikaze. What kind of deal was he expecting for a third choice keeper?

The day after Celtic clinched the treble in our Invincible season in 2017,Ntcham played for Genoa directly against Totti in his last ever game for Roma.
Ntcham was number 10 and swapped shirts with the iconic “ Totti 10 “ shirt after the game.
Both shirts featured special logos for the occasion. The Roma shirt had a logo on the sleeve “Totti 10” as well as a special message that contained the quote “Una Squadra Per La Vita” which translates to “One Team For A Lifetime “.
Genoa also had a Totti themed shirt for the game with a message on the front and back.
The message on the front is “Genoa CFC salute Francesco Totti”.
While the message on the back reads “25 Seasons With A Single Shirt,786 Appearances,307 goals, World Champion In 2006.Francesco Totti In Football History”.
That shirt Ntcham now has in his possession must be worth a fortune.

Probably Buzz. Probably.

As a piece of footballing history vis-a-vis shirts. I have in my possession the very shirt that the great Slim Jim Baxter wore when we beat England to become world champions in '67! I think you will agree Jim was immortalised in that game, along with the rest of the lads.

I was on the Rangers banter page a while ago trying to get some info from them regarding their museum but they never knew anything.

Now how much would that be worth to someone?

Really no idea what to do with it -- it needs a wee repair here and there due to me being given it as a young lad and wearing it in the park, pining it to my wall and boiling it to clean it, thus running the dye from the heavy wool onto the white cuffs/ collar and number 6! Would love to maybe fix it, frame it, enjoy it, and raffle it for a charity close to my heart at some point. Or donate to Hampden museum?

Be interesting to know what other guys have memorabilia wise in their sock draw? Think Ed posted a picture of a signed ball a while ago.

Later - champions.
